Bayley Vents Frustration Over Missing SummerSlam After Smackdown

0

Bayley’s frustration boiled over during a dark match following the July 25 SmackDown episode, as the former Women’s Champion expressed her disappointment over missing SummerSlam 2025. The Role Model lost a crucial 2-out-of-3 falls match to Lyra Valkyria on the July 14 WWE RAW, costing her a shot at Becky Lynch’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship at “the Biggest Party of the Summer.”

Before her dark match against Valkyria began, Bayley grabbed the microphone to air her grievances with Cleveland’s audience. Despite being positioned as a babyface, her recent actions continue to hint at a potential heel turn.

“I have a bone to pick with the first ever women’s IC champion, Lyra Valkyria, okay? I tried to do something out of the good of my heart put us in a tag team title match. Why? To get us to SummerSlam because I am out of a match at SummerSlam, thanks to you!” – Bayley

The July 14 RAW match saw Bayley secure the first fall against Valkyria, but ultimately lose after being pinned twice consecutively. The winner was set to challenge Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam, leaving Bayley without a spot on the premium live event card.

Bayley’s frustration continued into the dark match, where she again fell to Valkyria via pinfall. This marks a significant contrast to SummerSlam 2024, where Bayley defended the WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax, ultimately losing the title after interference from Tiffany Stratton.

With SummerSlam 2025 approaching, Bayley’s exclusion from the card and her increasingly aggressive demeanor suggest potential storyline developments that could reshape her character moving forward.

CM Punk Tells Story of His Classic Dark Match After Getting Banned By WWE

0

CM Punk has told the story of how he got unbanned on WWE’s extra talent list.

The Straight Edge star was part of the WWE’s SDCC 2025 panel, where they unveiled many new action figures. One of the figures featured Punk in a look from his 2003 SmackDown Dark match against The Road Warriors.

When asked about it, the former WWE champion told a story about the bout. He mentioned that he had been ‘banned’ from the list of extras only days before but he showed up to the show anyway:

“That particular guy is a person who wrestled the night before on a Monday Night Raw, was put on the ban list. Then I went to SmackDown anyway cuz I was like ‘Well all right, might as well get my money.’ The Road Warriors were supposed to do a dark match.”

Fastest Turnaround On A Ban: CM Punk

CM Punk recalled WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter offering him a match at the show. While the former AEW star accepted the offer, the match did not go as he would have hoped as his partner knocked out one of their opponents:

“No offense to anybody else that was in attendance but all the rest of the extra talent were so rotten that Sgt. Slaughter came up to me and just said ‘You got your gear right kid? And I was like ‘Yes sir.’

[He said] ‘How would you like to work the Road Warriors?’ And I just said ‘Yes sir.’ I didn’t add ‘So I’m not banned anymore?’ It’s the fastest turnaround on a ban. I got to work the Road Warriors.

I think they just released that in the vault. So you got to see that match. My tag partner knocked Hawk unconscious. So that action figure might come with like a heart attack because that’s what I had on the apron watching this all unfold.”

WWE recently released the footage of this dark match including an introduction from CM Punk where he goes into more details of why he was banned and more. You can check it out below:

WWE Superstar Slams SummerSlam Snub After SmackDown

0

WWE SummerSlam 2025 will be a stacked event, with the Biggest Party of the Summer playing out over two-nights for the first time ever. Despite the show being bigger, not everyone has made it on the card, resulting in one fomer champion to share her grievances.

After the July 25, edition of WWE SmackDown, Bayley competed in a dark match against Lyra Valkyria. The Role Model made clear that she’s furious that she won’t be part of SummerSlam, and blamed her absence on Valkyria.

Bayley didn’t have the best of look at last year’s SummerSlam, where her WWE Women’s Title reign was ended by Nia Jax. Still, that show at least saw Bayley on the card, which is more than can be said in 2025.

It remains to be seen when Bayley will next have a role on a Premium Live Event, but it won’t be at SummerSlam.

Chelsea Green Takes Social Media Break After Hulk Hogan Controversy

0

WWE superstar Chelsea Green announced she is stepping away from social media following intense backlash and harassment over her comments about Hulk Hogan’s death during a CBS News interview.

The Breaking Point

Green posted an emotional message to her followers on Friday, revealing the toll the controversy has taken:

“Social media was supposed to be a fun place and it hasn’t been for a while. It’s been overwhelming and I need to step away for a little bit.”

She described facing name-calling, death threats, and attacks from anonymous accounts.

The Original Controversy

The backlash began after Green appeared on CBS News 24/7 on Thursday to discuss Hogan’s passing. During the live interview, she stated “polarizing political views aside, he was an absolute icon.” She also posted a since-deleted tweet praising Hogan’s influence on wrestling while acknowledging his controversial nature.

Wrestling fans criticized Green for not directly addressing Hogan’s problematic history, particularly the racist remarks that led to his temporary WWE removal in 2015. Many felt her comments dismissed valid concerns about his legacy, especially given Green’s advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights.

Green’s Response and Apology

On Friday, Green issued a public apology clarifying her position: “Let me be clear: my stance on racism is unwavering. I do not condone it—period.” She explained that media engagement is part of her WWE role and emphasized she was attempting to handle a “complicated legacy” respectfully.

“If my response seemed dismissive of real concerns, I sincerely apologize. That was never my intention,” Green added, acknowledging she is still learning how to navigate such sensitive topics in public forums.

The Bigger Picture

The controversy highlights ongoing tensions within the wrestling community about how to honor legendary figures while acknowledging their problematic histories. Green’s decision to step away from social media also underscores the mental health impact of online harassment on public figures.

Before signing off, Green thanked her supporters, writing “Love my PatriHOTS!” using her affectionate nickname for her fanbase.

Green’s departure comes after Elayna Black shared that she would be taking a break from pro-wrestling, sharing that it was having a negative impact on her mental health.

Dominik Mysterio Invades AAA, Added To TripleMania Title Match

0

Dominik Mysterio made himself known in a major way at AAA’s July 25 event in Mexico City. In his unannounced appearance Mysterio stunned fans by attacking Dragon Lee and Hijo del Vikingo immediately after their match.

Grabbing a microphone after the ambush, Dominik made it clear he wasn’t in Mexico just to cause trouble—he came for championship gold. His challenge led to a major announcement: Mysterio is now officially part of the AAA Mega Championship match at TripleManía.

The high-stakes bout will see Hijo del Vikingo defend his title against Dragon Lee, El Grande Americano, and now, Dominik Mysterio. The showdown will come on August 16, where the reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion plans on leaving as a double champion.

Before then, Dominik will be at SummerSlam, where he’s set to defend the Intercontinental Title against AJ Styles. The Judgment Day star is certainly making an impression in wrestling, both in and out of WWE.

Injured WWE Star Returns On SmackDown With New Role

0

The July 25, episode of WWE SmackDown saw the return of a star who’s been out injured for over a year, though they won’t be competing just yet. On the show, Kiana James made her long-awaited return, but as the advocate of Women’s U.S. Champion Giulia.

Backstage, Zelina Vega was addressing another shot at the WWE Women’s United States Championship, but Giulia didn’t have to speak. Instead, James spoke on behalf of the Beautiful Madness, and berated Vega. In the end, this culminated with a title match being made for the go-home SmackDown before WWE SummerSlam.

While the pairing may seem odd, it makes sense that Giulia is partnered with a native English language speaker on TV. While Giulia has made strides in learning the language, WWE clearly feels that having a native speaker is the right call at this time.

James will have the chance to test herself as Giulia’s advocate next week when the Women’s U.S Title is on the line. It remains to be seen if this paring proves to be a successful endeavor.

AAA World Tag Team Title Match Set for WWE SmackDown

0

The go-home SmackDown before WWE SummerSlam will see a major titlte match as non-WWE gold will be on the line. In a new announcement shared across WWE’s social media platforms, it was confirmed that Los Garza—Angel and Berto—will put their AAA World Tag Team Titles on the line in an open challenge on next Friday’s show.

This match will mark the first time AAA gold will be defended on an WWE TV show, and the first time in a long time that non-WWE gold has been defended on the main roster. The move marks WWE’s continuing efforts with AAA following the company’s announcement of its acquisition back in April 2025.

The go-home SmackDown before SummerSlam will also see Damian Priest will go one-on-one with Aleister Black. In title action, Giulia will defend the WWE Women’s United States Championship against former titleholder Zelina Vega.

The August 1 SmackDown will air live from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and is shaping up to be a stacked final stop before WWE’s biggest event of the summer.

Tony Hinchcliffe SummerSlam Show Canceled Amid Poor Ticket Sales (Report)

0

WWE has reportedly canceled its planned late-night comedy event for SummerSlam weekend which was to feature comedian Tony Hinchcliffe. The show was originally set for Saturday, August 2, at 11 PM ET, at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, New Jersey.

According to PWInsider.com, WWE made the decision to pull the event. A venue source confirmed that ticket sales had been weak, with interest described as light in the days leading up to the cancellation. The show was meant to be a comedy night showcasing WWE Superstars, entertainers, and surprise guests.

Hinchcliffe served as the host for ‘The Roast of WrestleMania’ in April, an event that received mixed reviews by fans. While some saw it as a fun way to end the WrestleMania festivities, others argued that some comments went too far, and that Hinchcliffe himself was a poor choice as host.

Inside WWE, the reaction to Hinchcliffe’s return was reportedly muted. Some staff expressed relief that the company was not repeating the roast format. Now though, the entire planned return of Hinchcliffe is reportedly finished.

Faced with slow ticket sales and limited internal excitement, WWE chose to cancel the event rather than proceed without strong momentum. WWE SummerSlam will take place on August 2, and August 3, from Rutherford, New Jersey.

Cody Rhodes Addresses “Complicated” Hulk Hogan on WWE SmackDown

0

Cody Rhodes didn’t shy away from the proverbial elephant in the room in his tribute to Hulk Hogan during the July 25, SmackDown. WWE honored Hulk Hogan following his death at age 71 with a ten-bell salute, tribute video, and speech by Triple H to open the show.

In his own promo, Rhodes discussed Hogan’s death and admitted that there were “complicated details” to Hogan’s legacy. Though Hogan didn’t address ‘complications’ including Hogan’s racist remarks of several lies, what he said remained clear.

“Yesterday, WWE and pro wrestling lost one of its giant names, like Hulk Hogan. I know there are complicated details here, but what is not complicated are his contributions to WWE. That is undeniable. Thank you, Hulk Hogan.”

WWE has avoided bringing up Hogan’s racist remarks since his passing, with a statement by Chelsea Green being the closest an active talent has gotten to facing the topic head on. Rhodes’ tribute marked one of the night’s most nuanced moments—balancing respect for Hogan’s profound influence with an honest nod to the complexity surrounding his history.

Rhodes would then pivot to addressing his WWE title match at SummerSlam, an event that Hogan headlined several times. The American Nightmare will battle John Cena on the show’s second night.

Hulk Hogan Honored With 10-Bell Salute, Tribute Video on WWE SmackDown

0

The July 25 episode of WWE SmackDown was the promotion’s first TV event following the death of Hulk Hogan, who passed away on July 24 at the age of 71. The show opened with the entire SmackDown roster, along with several WWE legends, gathered on the entrance ramp in Cleveland.

Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque stood at the forefront with a microphone in hand and addressed the WWE Universe. Levesque said how without Hulk Hogan, “none of us would be standing on this ramp.” He paid tribute to Hogan’s role in propelling WWE into the mainstream, noting how Hulkamania helped elevate the company to global prominence.

A ‘Hogan’ chant broke out among fans as WWE aired an emotional video package celebrating the two-time Hall of Famer. The video ended with WWE honoring Hogan with a 10-bell salute, a staple of wrestling events to pay tribute to a deceased wrestler.

Triple H’s tribute and the extended video package were fitting honors for a man who helped define professional wrestling for generations. Hogan’s legacy continues to live on through the performers he inspired and the fans who chanted his name one last time.

6-Team TLC Match Set for SummerSlam

0

Tables, ladders, and chairs will return to SummerSlam 2025 as SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced a massive six-team TLC match for the WWE Tag Team Championships. The hardcore stipulation will see defending champions WYATT SICKS battle five other teams in one of the most unpredictable matches on the card.

The defending champions Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis will face their toughest challenge yet when they take on DIY, FRAXIOM, Andrade and Rey Fenix, the Street Profits, and Motor City Machine Guns in the hardcore stipulation match. This marks the first major title defense for the WYATT SICKS since capturing the gold from the Street Profits on July 11th.

The announcement comes as SummerSlam 2025 prepares to make history as the first-ever two-night edition of The Biggest Party of the Summer, taking place August 2-3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The TLC format adds an extra layer of unpredictability to what is already a stacked championship match. Each team brings compelling storylines into the match. DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) are former champions looking to reclaim their spot atop the division. FRAXIOM (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) have been frequent targets of the WYATT SICKS attacks since their main roster call-up. The newly-formed partnership of Andrade and Rey Fenix represents fresh blood in the title picture. Meanwhile, the Street Profits will be seeking revenge after losing their championship to the sinister faction through controversial means involving interference from Erick Rowan. Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) bring decades of tag team experience and championship pedigree to the chaotic match environment.

The TLC stipulation ensures that tables, ladders, and chairs will all be legal weapons, with the championship belts suspended high above the ring. The first team to retrieve the titles will be crowned the new WWE Tag Team Champions, making this one of the most unpredictable matches on the SummerSlam card.

Alexa Bliss Suffers Bloody Injury on WWE SmackDown

0

During the July 25 episode of WWE SmackDown, Alexa Bliss suffered a bloody nose in a match against Roxanne Perez.

The incident occurred outside the ring when Bliss attempted a Twisted Bliss to prevent Raquel Rodriguez from powerbombing Charlotte Flair.

Upon re-entering the ring, Bliss was pinned by Perez and was left with a visibly bloody nose.

The match was part of an ongoing feud, and Bliss is still scheduled to compete at SummerSlam.

WWE has not released an official update on her condition.

WWE Stars Using TV Exposure as OnlyFans Launch Strategy, Says Insider

Female wrestlers are increasingly viewing WWE television exposure as a strategic launching pad for lucrative OnlyFans careers, according to a Wrestling Observer Newsletter industry source. The business model has proven so successful that multiple wrestlers are actively planning their exits from traditional wrestling to capitalize on adult content platforms.

“Learn to wrestle, make it to WWE TV, build a fan base & start OF. There are women already planning their exits and others know it’s an option,” the Wrestling Observer Newsletter source noted.

The strategy appears to be proving successful, with multiple wrestlers making the transition in 2025 alone. Mandy Rose continues leading the trend, maintaining significant revenue streams while expanding her content offerings on the platform.

Recent WWE releases have followed this blueprint with notable success. Elayna Black launched her OnlyFans account in June 2025 at $15.99 per month following her WWE departure, confirming the venture “has paid off.” According to Wrestling Observer, Black has been telling people in wrestling what she’s earning, and it was reportedly more money than any woman wrestler made in the last month. Tegan Nox similarly launched her account in June after her November 2024 release, while Blair Davenport started her platform in May following her February WWE exit.

The trend extends beyond WWE departures, with AEW’s Toni Storm successfully balancing an active wrestling career alongside her OnlyFans presence since 2022, demonstrating the viability of dual career paths.

This strategic approach represents a significant shift in how wrestlers view their careers, transforming WWE television exposure from an end goal into a stepping stone for alternative revenue streams and financial independence.

MJF Reveals Wrestling Chats with Adam Sandler on Happy Gilmore 2 Set

AEW star MJF recently shared fascinating behind-the-scenes details about his experience filming Happy Gilmore 2, revealing how wrestling became a popular topic of conversation on set with Adam Sandler and the cast.

Speaking to Screen Crush to promote the film’s release, MJF described how discussions about professional wrestling naturally emerged during production, with Sandler leading the charge.

“We did. We talked about his love for Andre the Giant for a while. And that was a fun day on the set, for sure,” MJF told Screen Crush.

Wrestling Stories Unite Unlikely Cast Members

What started as conversations about Andre the Giant quickly snowballed into a broader discussion that surprised MJF with its reach across the production.

“As people would come in, you had — everyone loves to be like ‘Wrestling, I don’t know too much about it,’ like it’s in this bubble. And by the way, it’s a multi-billion dollar industry, so it is it really a bubble? But you catch my drift.

Adam starts talking about it, then another person, and now all of a sudden everyone’s got a wrestling story.”

The AEW star revealed that wrestling stories came from unexpected sources throughout the Happy Gilmore 2 cast and crew, including professional golfers, writer Tim Herlihy, and various producers involved in the project.

MJF’s Trademark Humor Shines Through

True to his controversial persona, MJF couldn’t resist adding his signature edgy humor to the discussion about wrestling’s unifying power.

“Pro wrestling brings people together, it really does. It brings a lot of fat, poor people together too, but you know, they pay me, that’s how I make a living.”

The comment perfectly encapsulates MJF’s heel character – simultaneously insulting his fanbase while acknowledging his dependence on their support, delivered with the timing that has made him one of AEW’s most compelling personalities.

Chelsea Green Issues Statement After Backlash To Her Hulk Hogan Comments

0

WWE superstar Chelsea Green has issued a statement to clarify comments she made regarding the passing of Hulk Hogan. Her clarification comes after she received backlash from some fans following an appearance on a CBS News broadcast on Thursday.

Green was one of many wrestling stars who took to various media outlets to discuss Hogan’s legacy after his sudden passing on July 24th. On Friday, she took to social media to address the criticism and make her personal stance on his controversial past crystal clear.

In her statement, Green apologized if her response came across as dismissive of the valid concerns surrounding Hogan’s complicated legacy. She reiterated that she does not, under any circumstances, condone racism.

“Let me be clear: my stance on racism is unwavering. I do not condone it—period,” Green wrote. “If my response (or tweet) seemed dismissive of real concerns, I sincerely apologize. That was never my intention. I tried to acknowledge a death respectfully, even when the legacy is complicated. I am learning one day at a time and will continue to learn.”

The fan backlash stemmed from Green’s interview on CBS News, where she was asked to comment on Hogan’s life and career. Some viewers took issue with the fact that she did not mention or acknowledge the more controversial aspects of his life while paying tribute to him. This led to some fans online accusing her of ignoring his past actions.

TNA Impact Spoilers From 7/24/25: Slammiversary Rematch

The first championship match for TNA Wrestling’s next special event, Emergence, has been set. During last night’s television tapings in Kingston, Rhode Island, the former champions, Nic and Ryan Nemeth, officially invoked their rematch clause to challenge The Hardy Boyz for the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

According to spoilers from the taping, The Nemeths faced The Rascalz in a tag team match. Following a loss, the brothers cut a promo in the ring where Nic Nemeth announced that they are invoking their championship rematch clause for the Emergence event. Here are the spoilers, courtesy of F4Wonline.com:

Xia Brookside & Lei Ying Lee defeated (unknown)

Indi Hartwell & Dani Luna defeated Jody Threat & Arianna Grace

The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz & Myron Reed) defeated Nic & Ryan Nemeth. After the match, the Nemeths cut a promo and Nic said they are invoking their Tag Team title rematch clause against the Hardys at Emergence. Ryan made fun of Rhode Island’s lack of sports teams and their ugly children. Home Town Man came out and demanded an apology. Nemeth’s laid out HTM and unmasked him, but security covered him up. The Rascalz ran back down to run them off.

Masha Slamovich defeated Knockouts Champion Jacy Jayne by DQ. Ash by Elegance ran in and hit Slamovich with the Knockouts Tag Team title belt for the DQ. The match went around five minutes and was disappointing if only because they didn’t have the time to have a better match with a better finish.

X-Division Champion Leon Slater defeated Cedric Alexander and Jason Hotch in a three-way title defense.

The System (Moose & Eddie Edwards) defeated AJ Francis & Trick Williams. Moose pinned Williams with a spear after KC Navarro accidentally hit him with his crutch.

Nikki Bella Credits Becky Lynch Friendship as Best Part of Happy Gilmore 2 Experience

Nikki Bella has revealed that forming a close friendship with Becky Lynch during the filming of Happy Gilmore 2 was the most rewarding aspect of her Hollywood experience, despite disappointment over her scenes being cut from the final Netflix release.

Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, the former WWE Women’s Champion explained how she and Lynch bonded during the three-week filming period, something that hadn’t happened during their WWE careers.

“Becky and I in those three weeks just became so close. And she’s just become such a good friend. I’ve taken that away from it [Happy Gilmore]. More than anything, to get that strong friendship out of it was so worth it. I love… And I told her how grateful I am always for her love, support, and advice.” – Nikki Bella

However, Bella’s experience wasn’t without disappointment. She revealed that all her speaking scenes were cut from the final film, discovering this harsh reality while watching the premiere.

“All my talking stuff got cut. It’s not just me, it’s the whole group of people I filmed with. The majority of our funny scenes got taken out.” – Nikki Bella

Both WWE legends appear as spectators in Adam Sandler’s Happy Gilmore 2, which premiered on Netflix July 25. Despite the editing disappointment, Bella emphasized that her newfound friendship with Lynch made the entire experience worthwhile.

Nikki Bella Advocates for Annual WWE Evolution: ‘Why Not Have One Theme Be All Women?’

0

Following WWE Evolution 2025’s successful return, Hall of Famer Nikki Bella is advocating for the all-women’s premium live event to become an annual fixture—with a straightforward business argument that goes beyond making history.

Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show podcast, Bella compared Evolution to WWE’s other themed annual events, making a compelling case for consistency.

“I feel like it becomes a yearly thing, not because it’s about history making. It’s just that it’s fun and different for a PLE. Like how we have the Royal Rumble, how we have SummerSlam, how we have Hell in a Cell, whatever it may be, Survivor Series. A lot of our PLEs have themes. So why not one of the themes be all women?”

– Nikki Bella on WWE Evolution

Moving Beyond “History-Making” Narrative

Bella’s perspective represents a shift in how WWE Evolution could be positioned—treating it as themed entertainment rather than a historic statement. “We don’t always have to make it about history making,” she continued, suggesting summer scheduling “before SummerSlam.”

WWE Evolution 2025 at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena received positive reviews, featuring seven matches including Naomi’s main event victory where she cashed in Money in the Bank to win the Women’s World Championship.

WWE’s Response and Future Outlook

When asked about annual Evolution during the post-show press conference, Triple H stated WWE would “see what the demand is for it,” leaving the door open without commitment.

The path from 2018 to 2025 faced obstacles. Former wrestler Mickie James revealed WWE officials claimed “women’s wrestling doesn’t make money” and called Evolution 2018 the “lowest-rated pay-per-view ever.” However, Evolution 2025’s positive reception and the growth of WWE’s women’s divisions suggest significant landscape changes.

Sister Support and Future Possibilities

Sister Brie echoed the advocacy, stating she hopes “it becomes a yearly thing.” While absent from Evolution 2025, she’s expressed return interest, potentially adding compelling storylines to future events. The Bella Twins’ fanbase could provide significant promotional value.

As WWE evaluates Evolution 2025’s success, Nikki Bella’s straightforward business case—treating Evolution as themed entertainment rather than historic statement—may prove the most persuasive argument for making the all-women’s showcase an annual tradition.

Hulk Hogan’s Wife: I Wasn’t Ready, My Heart Is In Pieces

0

Hulk Hogan’s wife Sky has paid a tribute to her late husband, in which she opens up about the struggles following his death. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer died on July 24, 2025, of a reported cardiac arrest.

On Instagram, Sky shared the following statement.

I wasn’t ready for this…
and my heart is in pieces.

He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them. I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time.

This loss is sudden and impossible to process. To the world, he was a legend… but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart.

Hulk loved his fans so much and despite his growing physical discomfort, he did everything he could to show up, sign autographs, take photos, and connect with the people who supported him through it all. You meant everything to him.

He was a believer in Christ, and I take comfort knowing his soul is at peace and he’s been welcomed home.

Please keep his family and all of us who loved him in your prayers as we try to navigate this new reality.

The wrestling world has flooded social media with tributes from wrestlers, friends, and fans of Hulk Hogan. Our thoughts remain with Hogan’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Wrestler Reveals Major Role In Fantastic Four: First Steps

0

The Fantastic Four: First Steps has landed in cinemas, giving moviegoers an up-close look at the ‘First Family of Marvel.’ On Instagram, independent wrestler Charles Crowley (Richard Summers-Calvert) revealed that he played a key role in bringing Ben ‘The Thing’ Grimm to the big screen.

“I can finally announce that after 5 auditions (the last being in front of the director, his accent coach and his movement coach) I managed to end up in this absolutely epic suit helping portray The Thing in Fantastic 4.

“For 7 months I sat in the tent next to the leads and got to pick their brains, I got to do performance passes alongside elite level actors, I aided the Mocap and VFX, I met immensely talented people and the coolest thing of all is that I got to be a part of a Make A Wish, which is something I will truly never forget.

“Insane experience, learnt tonnes and to embody The Thing and help bring him to life was an absolute honour…was real hot in there though…  #BigBoy

Crowley isn’t the only name from wrestling involved in the film. Actor Paul Walter Hauser, who plays Mole Man in the new film, has made waves in wrestling and even brought his PROGRESS Title to the premiere.

Between his role in wrestling, this movie role, and a project in the works featuring Jordynne Grace, Charles Crowley is proving to be one to watch in and out of the ring.

The Rock on Hulk Hogan: Thank You for the House, Brother

0

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has addressed the passing of Hulk Hogan, delivering an emotional and deeply personal tribute to his fellow icon of the ring. On social media, Johnson shared a lengthy tribute, making reference to their past both in and out of the ring.

“In 1984, I gave you your ‘HULKSTER’ headband back, in the locker room in Madison Square Garden — I was the lucky kid who caught it when you threw it into the crowd… A month later in Madison Square Garden, you did just that. You kept your word, with a handshake and a ‘thanks kid.’ And that meant the world to that little 12-year-old boy.”

Fast forward 17 years, and Johnson—now The Rock—found himself face-to-face with his childhood hero in the main event of WrestleMania 18.

“Just 17 years later, and still a kid at the age of 29 years old — I’m standing in the middle of the ring and facing you — one of my wrestling heroes in the main event of WRESTLEMANIA… Just listen and FEEL that crowd go ELECTRIC… all for you. I’ve never felt anything like that in my entire wrestling career.”

While it was The Rock who stood tall in their first of two one-on-one encounters, Johnson remembered how Hogan’s return and presence made the match a must-see.

“You may have ‘passed the torch’ to me that night, but you, my friend… you ‘drew the house,’ meaning you sold out every arena and stadium across the country in your prime as Hulk Hogan.”

Johnson ended with a pertient thank-you to the man who helped pave the way for himself and so many others.

“From deep in my bones, and on behalf of this wild and crazy world of professional wrestling that we love, I say to you now, and forever… Thank you for the house, brother… Thank you, for the house.”

Johnson’s tribute is one of several that has poured in for Hogan following his death at the age of 71. While Hulk Hogan may no longer be with us, his legacy lives on in those he touched.

How WWE Will Honor Hulk Hogan On Post-Passing SmackDown

0

WWE is preparing a major tribute to honor Hulk Hogan following his death and the promotion is holding nothing back to commemorate the icon. According to Fightful Select, WWE has already reached out to multiple legends and Hall of Famers to either appear on SmackDown or record tribute segments for Hogan.

One name fans can expect to see is WWE Hall of Famer ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan. On Facebook, Duggan shared that he and his wife were “on our way to Cleveland to honor a friend!” Tonight’s SmackDown will air from the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Hogan’s passing came after weeks of reports about his health, though Jimmy Hart had disputed reports of issues shortly before Hulk’s passing. On the morning of July 24, emergency services were called to the Hogan residence for what was described as a cardiac arrest. He was transported on a stretcher and later pronounced dead.

Hogan’s final appearance for WWE came during Raw’s debut on Netflix, an appearance that saw fans boo the Hall of Famer. Now, Hogan will play a central role on one final episode of WWE programming.

Hollywood insider Matthew Belloni has revealed that Netflix had been secretly developing a comprehensive docuseries about Hulk Hogan since 2024, which remained unfinished at the time of the wrestling legend’s passing at age 71.

The revelation came through Belloni’s report for Puck News, where he disclosed that WWE, Hogan, and Netflix had been collaborating on what would have been an extensive multi-part documentary series. The project featured over 20 hours of new interviews with Hogan that were filmed before his death from cardiac arrest.

“The Hulkster died mid-documentary: Hulk Hogan, who died today at 71, will be remembered for mainstreaming pro wrestling and bringing down Gawker. He also left behind an unfinished docuseries on his life that Netflix has quietly been working on since last year, per sources.” – Matthew Belloni

Production Details and Timeline

According to Belloni’s sources, director Bryan Storkel and producer Connor Schell’s Words + Pictures production company were spearheading the collaboration with WWE and Hogan on the multipart series. The extensive interview footage represents what would have been Hogan’s final comprehensive look back at his legendary career and controversial life.

While no official release date has been announced, the project’s existence highlights Netflix’s continued investment in wrestling-related documentary content. The streaming giant has already found success with wrestling documentaries, and this Hogan series was positioned to be another major addition to their sports entertainment catalog.

Netflix’s Wrestling Documentary Strategy

This Hogan docuseries follows Netflix’s pattern of high-profile wrestling documentaries, including their recent series on Vince McMahon. The streaming platform appears committed to exploring the complex personalities and stories that have shaped professional wrestling’s evolution into mainstream entertainment.

Adding to Netflix’s wrestling content lineup, a new docuseries titled “WWE: Untold” is scheduled to debut on July 29, demonstrating the platform’s ongoing partnership with WWE and commitment to sports entertainment programming.

Hogan’s Legacy and Final Interviews

The 20+ hours of interview footage with Hogan represents a treasure trove of insights from one of wrestling’s most influential and controversial figures. Known for mainstreaming professional wrestling and his high-profile legal victory against Gawker Media, Hogan’s story encompasses both the heights of entertainment success and the complexities of celebrity culture.

The fate of the unfinished docuseries remains unclear, though the substantial amount of completed interview material suggests Netflix may still move forward with the project as a posthumous tribute to the wrestling icon’s impact on sports entertainment and popular culture.

As the wrestling world mourns the loss of Hulk Hogan, this revelation adds another layer to his complex legacy—that even in his final months, he was working to share his story with fans one last time through what would have been his most comprehensive documentary project to date.
