Four Times the Charm: How Dominik Mysterio Won Over His Future Wife

0

Persistence pays off—just ask Dominik Mysterio, who had to ask his future wife to be his girlfriend four times before she finally said yes.

In a revealing interview on Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story” podcast, the WWE superstar opened up about his teenage romance with Marie, his high school sweetheart who became his wife after a 14-year relationship that began with repeated rejections.

“I asked her to be my girlfriend three different times and she said no all three times, and then fourth time was a charm,” Mysterio shared. “I was very persistent cuz, I mean, she’s tall, beautiful, green eyes, long brown hair. So I was caught up, I was like, she’s gotta be mine one way or another.”

The romance began in eighth grade when Dominik, whose first language is Spanish, deliberately enrolled in Spanish 1 just to get closer to Marie.

“I forced myself into the Spanish class knowing damn well [I spoke Spanish],” he admitted. “I knew she was in there and she wouldn’t talk to me otherwise.”

His show-off tactics backfired initially. When the teacher asked who could count to ten in Spanish, Dominik counted to fifty, earning him a reputation as “cocky” in Marie’s eyes.

But persistence became Dominik’s greatest life lesson.

“Without her, I’d be lost,” he reflected. “Even when we got married, I did absolutely nothing for the wedding. She just told me what day to be there and what time to show up, and that’s exactly what I did.”

Their secret? “We have the same values and morals,” Dominik explained.

“What matters is what’s the same at home.”

The couple, now married over a year, proves that sometimes the best things in life are worth the wait—and the repeated asking.

TNA Pulls Title Match Ahead Of Under Siege Event

0

Tonight, May 23, TNA Wrestling will host its Under Siege event, but one title match planned for the event has now been pulled by the promotion. On this week’s TNA iMPACT, Director of Authority Santino Marella shared that the International title match that had been set between champ Steve Maclin and Matt Cardona was off.

Marella explained that Maclin still isn’t medically cleared after his brutal Dog Collar match with Eric Young a few weeks ago, and the title match will instead happen on next week’s impact. The match was incredibly violent and shortly after, it was reported that TNA would be scaling back on the use of blood and violence, though neither will vanish from the promotion’s programming alltogether.

While this change is disappointing, it is being done in Maclin’s best interests, and fans can expect a stacked show with TNA Under Siege, even without this title match.

Kevin Owens Advertised For WWE TV Event Amid Injury Hiatus

0

Shortly before WrestleMania, Kevin Owens shared that he is dealing with a neck injury, one that has threatened his in-ring career and will keep him out indefinitely. While it’s unclear when Owens will wrestle again, WWE is promoting the former Universal Champion for the June 13th edition of WWE SmackDown. The is the only upcoming show Owens is being promoted for, and while the card is ‘subject to change’, it is unclear if his inclusion is an oversight, a mistake, or a sign of a genuine return.

Owens is not the only notable name being advertised, as Cody Rhodes is being advertised for tonight’s SmackDown in what’d be his first appearance since his WrestleMania 41 loss. Randy Orton is being advertised for next week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, though it’s unclear if he’s ready to return after his defeat at the hands of John Cena at Backlash.

As for Owens, his situation is serious and WWE won’t have him wrestle until he is 100%, but a non-physical return could be coming within a matter of weeks.

Mick Foley Names Iconic Match ‘Overkill,’ Pleased For Safer Wrestling

0

Mick Foley had plenty of violent battles in WWE but one match stands out as a particularly unpleasant experience for the WWE Hall of Famer. Speaking with the No Contest Wrestling podcast, Foley reflected on his match with The Rock at Royal Rumble 1999 and the several chair shots to the skull he received on that January night.

“I’m glad that chair shots to the head are gone… You’ll never see a match like the one I had with The Rock with the 11 shots, that was definitely overkill.”

The pair’s WWE Championship I-Quit match was won by The Rock, albeit in controversial fashion as he used a recording of Mick saying the dreaded two words. On the podcast, Foley recalled watching the match with a group of fans, sharing that things turned sour for him once the chairshots came into play.

“It was actually a fun match up until the chairs. There was a lot of good dialogue on the microphone, Rock of course with the humor. It was really going well and then that ending was just a little much.”

Foley would get his revenge, and the WWE Championship, not long after, besting The Rock during the popular, though not as iconic Halftime Heat. The pair would continue to battle in 1999 before eventually becoming allies as the popular ‘Rock ‘n Sock’ connection.

With more known today about the longterm effects of blows to the head, many promotions, including WWE, have fazed out chair shots to the head. While some fans may miss this hardcore act, the move is one completely backed by the Hardcore Legend.

Nikki Garcia on Divorce, Child Support & Prenup Regrets: ‘I Broke My Neck for That Money’

0

WWE star Nikki Garcia recently spoke openly about her divorce from Artem Chigvintsev on her SiriusXM podcast, The Nikki & Brie Show, sharing details about their settlement and reflecting on what she learned from the experience.

Garcia confirmed that she paid her ex-husband $200,000 as part of their divorce settlement. “Yes, I had to give him $200,000,” she said, addressing public speculation about the arrangement.

During the mediation process, Garcia recalled an interesting observation from the judge. “This is the first time in all the years I’ve done this, where a woman had to pay a man,” the judge reportedly told her. “You should be so damn proud that you built such an empire that someone wants a piece of it.”

Despite the payment, Garcia said she felt the settlement was reasonable considering her financial situation. “I got a steal. I’m not going to lie,” she noted, suggesting the amount could have been higher.
The divorce has changed how Garcia thinks about future relationships, particularly regarding prenuptial agreements. She admitted that she hadn’t wanted one before her marriage to Chigvintsev, viewing it as potentially unromantic. Now she feels differently.

“Prenup no matter what. Doesn’t take my love away, it’s just because of what I’ve been through,” she said.
Garcia also took time to address rumors and criticism she’s faced online. “I haven’t lied about one thing… I’ve lived in my truth. I know how to take accountability. I know what it’s like not to be perfect,” she said.

Garcia’s willingness to discuss these personal details provides insight into how divorce settlements work when women are the higher earners.

Ace Austin Leaving TNA

0

Ace Austin is leaving TNA Wrestling. His contract recently expired, and according to PWInsider, the two sides were unable to agree to terms on a new deal. The former X Division Champion’s final match for TNA takes place Friday night at TNA Under Siege.

Scott D’Amore wrote in his latest D’Amore Drop column:

“Nothing has been said publicly, but Ace Austin’s contract with TNA has come to term.

Ace deciding to leave is amicable — he’s been there since he was barely out of his teens and he’s ready to step up. I signed him, and everything he’s shown since confirmed that Ace Austin becoming a massive star is, indeed, “inevitable.”

He’s ready for that next chapter. I think it is time Ace Austin goes all in on proving he’s one of the best.”

WWE Scraps New Orleans WrestleMania 2026, Sticks with Las Vegas (Report)

0

WWE has scrapped plans to bring next year’s WrestleMania to New Orleans. According to local outlet NOLA.com, it remain in Las Vegas following this year’s record-breaking event. This has yet to be confirmed by WWE.

WWE informed New Orleans tourism officials Thursday that the April 2026 show, announced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in February, will not proceed at the Caesars Superdome.

The decision comes after WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas shattered attendance records with over 124,000 fans and generated the highest revenue in company history. Industry sources suggest WWE’s leadership wants to build on that momentum rather than change cities.

New Orleans hosted its last WrestleMania in 2018, delivering significant economic impact to the region. The city is expected to get a premium live event in 2026, and a future WrestleMania.

AEW’s Mariah May: “God Forbid A Girl Takes A Vacation”

0

AEW star Mariah May has clarified her recent absence from television, confirming to fans that she is simply taking a well-deserved vacation. May has not been on AEW programming since her storyline involvement with “Timeless” Toni Storm around the AEW Revolution pay-per-view period earlier in 2025, where she played a key role as Storm’s protégé.

Her time away from the screen led to some fan speculation online regarding her status. One social media user commented, “one day, many years from now, someone will ask, whatever happened to @MariahMayx?” – a reference to her cinematic “feature” segments with Storm.

May offered a direct and lighthearted response to quell any concerns, replying on X: “God forbid a girl takes a vacation.”

Meanwhile, May’s on-screen associate and mentor is gearing up for a significant championship defense. Storm is scheduled to defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against challenger Mina Shirakawa at the upcoming AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view this weekend. It’s unclear when she will beback on AEW TV, but her contract reportedly expires this year and she has interest from WWE if she becomes available.

Tony Khan Interested In Creating AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles

0

AEW President Tony Khan has confirmed his interest in eventually creating AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships. He addressed the possibility during a media call prior to the Double or Nothing 2025 pay-per-view, acknowledging the growth of women’s tag teams within the company, including duos like Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford and the reunited Julia Hart & Skye Blue.

When questioned by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp about the potential for these titles, Khan stated it’s a personal ambition of his. “That is something I’d like to do and is a goal for me,” he stated, noting the “number of great tandems and alliances” and “some great tag matches in the women’s division.”

However, Khan also tempered expectations by outlining his current primary focus on revitalizing the men’s tag team division, which has faced injuries. “Right now, I’m also focused on building back the men’s tag division,” he explained. “As I’m rebuilding the men’s tag division, that is something I’m interested in doing in the future.”

Despite this immediate priority, he remains optimistic about introducing women’s tag titles down the line, concluding, “It is something I’m interested in doing, and it is realistic to see at some point.”

WWE Has Discussed Big Match For Travis Scott At Money in the Bank

0

WWE is reportedly considering a major match for its forthcoming Money in the Bank premium live event, with PWInsider.com outlining potential creative directions for multi-platinum musician Travis Scott. Internal discussions within WWE’s creative circles suggest a belief that Scott will be available for the event.

Initial pitches reportedly involve Scott teaming up with current WWE Champion John Cena, with various ideas for either a standard tag team match or a six-man tag team encounter being actively discussed. Adding credibility to Scott’s potential for a more physical role, it’s noted that he has been training with WWE Hall of Famer Booker T in Texas.

Further elaborating on these potential plans, a more specific and six-man tag team match has also been proposed. This idea would see United States Champion Logan Paul joining forces with John Cena and Travis Scott. Their opponents in this blockbuster scenario would be the formidable trio of The Usos and Cody Rhodes. Such a matchup would undoubtedly generate significant mainstream buzz and attract a wide audience.

It’s understood that in any scenario where Cena and Scott team up, Rhodes would likely be positioned as an opponent. However, all these star-studded concepts are currently in the pitch phase and remain creative ideas under consideration within WWE. The company has not yet finalized these plans, and the ultimate direction for Travis Scott’s involvement at Money in the Bank is still to be determined.

Update On Zoey Stark After WWE Raw Injury

0

Zoey Stark suffered a leg injury during the May 19, edition of WWE Raw, resulting in her early exit from a Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match qualifier. Stark struggled to put any weight on her leg after the spot and was eventually carried to the back by officials.

Stark’s injury is significantly more serious than initially believed, reports Fightful. While Stark has hinted on social media that surgery may be imminent, backstage reports indicate that WWE is preparing for her to be sidelined for the remainder of the year.

The prevailing belief backstage is that Stark may have suffered a tear requiring surgery, though WWE has yet to confirm an official diagnosis. Nonetheless, officials are reportedly bracing for a long recovery—possibly extending into late 2025.

Stark has been on the receiving end of countless positive messages from fans and wrestlers alike. On X, the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion made clear these well-wishes haven’t gone unnoticed.

While WWE has not released a formal timetable for her return, it’s clear this setback may remove the Raw Superstar for a signficant time. We at SEScoops are continuing to wish Zoey Stark a full and speedy recovery.

WrestleMania 42 from New Orleans? Maybe Not

0

WrestleMania 42 will not take place in New Orleans, it has been reported, raising questions about the host city for the April 2026 Premium Live Event.

A statement provided by the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation to Wrestlenomics highlighted some of the big upcoming events coming to the city, while dropping the bombshell about WrestleMania.

“The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money In The Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania – which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year.”

The reasons for the change in plans for next year’s WrestleMania are unclear at this time, though the Foundation said that the statement was representative of both New Orleans and WWE. This news comes mere months after The Rock appeared on WWE SmackDown to share that WrestleMania would return to ‘NOLA’ in 2026.

With this news, the question remains: Where will WrestleMania 42 take place? Will it return to a city that has hosted the event, go somewhere new, or push the boat out into the UK as countless fans are hoping? Only time will tell…

Goldberg Won’t Rush Preparations For Retirement Match

0

Bill Goldberg will wrestle his final match in 2025 and is focused on giving a match worthy of a retirement. Speaking on the latest edition of the CarCast podcast, Goldberg provided a small update on his training.

“I feel a little bit better, I’ve gained a little bit of weight man. Done a little kickboxing on the weekends. I’m getting there man, I’ve got a little bit of time left. Slowly but surely, Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

Goldberg admitted that his not overdoing things to avoid risking an injury has been “really tough” but he is pleased to be on a good schedule and “injury free as of right now.” Given that he was in a vehicle, it was fitting that Goldberg discussed his efforts with an automobile analogy.

“It’s like rebuilding a car. You’ve got to strip it down to the bare minimum and sequentially build it in a logical form. It applies with a vehicle, it applies with your body. I can’t get overzealous and put s*** on before it’s time.”

No opponent has been confirmed for GUNTHER’s final match, though many believe GUNTHER will give the Hall of Famer his sendoff. For now, Goldberg remains focused on honing his body for the match, no matter how long the process takes.

Triple H: Vince McMahon Didn’t Like WrestleMania 38 Retirement Opener

0

WrestleMania 38: Sunday kicked off in 2022 with WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque formally confirming his in-ring retirement. Levesque, who had suffered a major heart issue the previous year, left his boots in the ring—a ceremonial gesture symbolizing the end of his wrestling career.

During a recent episode of Stephanie’s Places, Levesque reflected on his emotional farewell. While the moment carried deep significance for the 14-time WWE World Champion, his father-in-law Vince McMahon was less enthusiastic about the idea.

“The idea of going and putting my boots in the ring was not what he had in mind. Like, ‘Why do you wanna — I gotta open the show with a downer,’” Levesque recalled.

He disagreed with McMahon’s view, describing the segment as a “triumphant moment” rather than a somber one. For Levesque, it marked a symbolic return following his health scare. Since then, he has remained active behind the scenes as WWE’s creative lead and continues to make occasional on-screen appearances.

As for McMahon, his time on WWE television has concluded following his resignation in January 2024. While McMahon reportedly has plans for a new entertainment company brewing, he’ll never have the ‘downer/triumphant’ sendoff Levesque received three years ago.

Despite “Insane” Travel Schedule, Will Ospreay Explains Why He’ll Never Move To The US

0

AEW star Will Ospreay, despite a demanding schedule that sees him travel from England to the United States nearly every week, has no intention of relocating. Speaking to Bleacher Report, Ospreay emphasized his commitment to his life in the U.K., primarily for his family and stepson.

“There’s nothing in my being that makes me want to move to the United States,” Ospreay stated. “I respect it and understand why people do it, but I have such a lovely life here and my son’s doing really well in school. I am very happy here. I don’t have any aspirations to want to move.”

Given his high-impact in-ring style and rigorous travel, Ospreay praised AEW’s medical staff for their attentive care. “We’ve got a great medical team backstage at AEW. I do feel like they put me on priority quite a lot because they do realize that my travel schedule is quite insane,” he said. “I appreciate every single one of them that looks after me.”

Beyond his AEW commitments, Ospreay produces for Pro Wrestling Eve in the U.K. This Sunday, he faces Hangman Page in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament final at AEW Double or Nothing.

Kenny Omega Reveals Why A Former Champion Is Off AEW TV

0

Kenny Omega has clarified the reason for Hikaru Shida’s absence from AEW television throughout 2025.

During a recent Twitch stream, Omega revealed that the former three-time AEW Women’s Champion has been in her home country of Japan for several months awaiting visa renewal. In the interim, Omega has taken on cat-sitting duties for Shida.

“It’s unfortunate, every couple of years, everyone has to go back to their home country and re-up their visa,” Omega explained. “I would’ve hated for her cats to have been alone for, who knows how long… In this case, it’s taking quite a while.” He added that Shida’s cats “get separation anxiety” but get along with his cat, Dobby, saying, “It’s nice and it’s fun. I would do it anytime. It’s not a chore.”

Shida last wrestled for AEW in November 2024, losing to Kris Statlander. While awaiting her US visa renewal, she has remained active in several Japanese wrestling promotions. There is currently no confirmed timeline for her return to AEW competition in the United States.

Absent AEW Star Teases Return At Double Or Nothing

0

Tay Melo stated in an interview that AEW asked her to prepare for an upcoming event, fueling speculation of a return at this weekend’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

Speaking with Globo, Melo expressed her hope for such a comeback, two years after announcing her pregnancy at the same event in 2023.

“That day will be the “Double or Nothing” event again,” Melo stated. “It was the event where I announced Luna, and it will have been two years since that moment. Since it’s a new company, I’m the first fighter to have a baby. It would be a very special date. I’m looking forward to it.”

Melo recalled the emotional 2023 announcement with husband Sammy Guevara, where they were “the company’s villains.” She said, “We didn’t know how the fans would react… When we announced it… the fans went crazy… I went from villain to darling.”

While no official return is confirmed, the timing is poignant. Melo last appeared for AEW at the 2023 Double or Nothing, making an in-ring return for STARDOM in January 2025. AEW Double or Nothing airs live this Sunday, May 25th.

AEW Stars Cleared To Return To In-Ring Action

0

After an extended period on the sidelines due to significant injuries, the tag team known as The WorkHorsemen, Anthony Henry and J.D. Drake, have both been officially cleared to return to in-ring action. Anthony Henry shared the positive news on X, expressing their eagerness to compete again inside of the squared circle.

Henry wrote: “It’s been a long year, but the workhorsemen are both 100% officially cleared to return to the ring. Let us rejoice! #workhorsemen”

The WorkHorsemen have not competed as a team since an AEW Collision taping in May 2024. Serious setbacks marked their hiatus; Henry suffered a broken jaw and later a torn left biceps in 2024, while J.D. Drake has been out of action since November 2024.

Fans won’t have to wait long to see at least one-half of the team back, as J.D. Drake is scheduled for his singles return at “ACTION DEAN~!!!2.” The event, co-presented by AEW/ROH, will see Drake face Josh Woods in a one-on-one match.

Karrion Kross Nearly Made A Major Change for a Very Good Cause

0

Karrion Kross has been impressing fans for months in WWE, and recently, the former NXT Champion revealed plans for a major change that he had wanted to make. In a candid moment during his May 21 appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Kross shared that he planned to change his look for a worthy cause.

“I actually almost shaved my head in December. I was going to donate my hair to a charity… for kids suffering from hair loss.”

Kross added that WWE supported the idea but wanted to tie it into a storyline, which ultimately didn’t materialize due to timing conflict, resulting in Kross making a change in a different way. Instead of donating his hair, Kross made a “good donation” of money and added that he continues to work with the organization privately.

Ironically, Kross’ hair has played a role in his on-screen character as a master-manipulator. Eagle-eyed fans have spotted that Kross often styles his hair to match whichever babyface he is trying to conver to the dark side. In 2024, Kross convinced The Miz to turn on R-Truth and in a heartbreaking moment, led to The New Day ending their lengthy friendship with Big E.

Today, Kross remains a star in WWE of growing popularity, with his shirt now available at events. It remains to be seen what is next for the ‘Devil’s Advocate.’

Rossy Ogawa Criticized Over Fat-Shaming Comments, Kenny Omega Responds

0

Utami Hayashishita is the reigning Marigold World Champion, but recent comments by the company’s founder Rossy Ogawa about her has stemmed a backlash. Speaking with Sports Graphic Number, Ogawa discussed the champion’s presentation and had some choice comments about her appearance.

“I want to see her show a toned body as a wrestler. It’s not like the Showa era. I’m not saying that just because she’s a pro wrestler, she should drink and eat a lot. But I don’t approve of a fat wrestler.”

Ogawa’s comments have since gone viral with many taking issue with the Japanese promoter. You can see some of the backlash to his comments below:

Kenny Omega has long been critical of Ogawa and responded to these comments during his Twitch stream. Omega said he found it ironic that when he’s spoken negatively of Ogawa in the past, he faces instant criticism from fans. Now, he believes fans are paying attention to the real side of the Marigold founder.

“Someone like Rossy does a good job of revealing himself to the world on his own. And soon enough, whether he goes full mask off on his own, or people start talking, the writing will be on the wall.”

Ogawa has yet to comment on the backlash, but many believe that his words and views on the reigning Marigold champion reflects poorly, both on him and his promotion.

QT Marshall Brining 1FW Promotion To Legendary Atlanta Venue

0

1FW, the promotion run by QT Marshall, will debut at Center Stage in Atlanta with their ‘Summerstage’ event set to take place on July 25. In a statement, Marshall spoke about bringing 1FW to the iconic venue in downtown Atlanta as part of a new partnership with Dalton Carpet One, a notable name in kitchen ,bath & flooring solutions across Georgia.

“This partnership is a perfect match. Dalton Carpet One is a name synonymous with quality and community values—just like 1FW. Together, we’re bringing unforgettable entertainment to Atlanta fans in a way that’s both exciting and family-oriented.”

It won’t be just wrestling action that fans will get to experience at SummerStage. On Facebook, it has been confirmed that several meet and greets will take place. Fans will have the chance to meet Marshall and some notable names from AEW including Harley Cameron, Tony Schiavone, and MJF.

The Center Stage Theater is no stranger to wrestling, having hosted WWE NXT, TNA Wrestling, Ring of Honor, MLW, WCW, ECW, and the NWA during its rich history. Now, 1FW is the latest name to join those ranks, as Marshall intends to put on a stacked event this July.

Karrion Kross Believes WWE Fans Have A “Starvation For Authenticity”

0

Karrion Kross recently shared his thoughts on what he believes modern WWE fans are looking for in performers.

This came up during his conversation with Ariel Helwani, following Kross’s notable involvement at WWE WrestleMania 41, where AJ Styles lost to Logan Paul after Kross’s interference was rejected, leading to a much-discussed promo from Kross.

Kross feels that today’s audience has a strong desire for genuine connection and realism from the superstars they watch, even within the world of sports entertainment. He believes this authenticity is crucial for truly engaging WWE fans.

“There’s a starvation for authenticity that the audience wants right now. I know it’s specifically from me, but I feel like it’s in general,” Kross explained. “People can feel like the difference between theatrics, which obviously are still appreciated, and then there’s a difference between somebody being real. That, I think, has always drawn people in.” His comments suggest that he aims to bring that sense of “being real” to his own performances to better connect with the WWE audience. This view likely influenced his “worked-shoot” promo style after WrestleMania.

Karrion Kross Clarifies Post-WrestleMania Promo: Not Disgruntled, Just Really Hungry

0

Following his talked-about “worked-shoot” promo after WWE WrestleMania 41, Karrion Kross has clarified his current mindset. The incident at WrestleMania saw AJ Styles lose to Logan Paul after Styles refused an offer from Kross to cheat on his behalf.

Kross’s intense promo afterwards left some WWE fans wondering if he was unhappy with his position in the company. Speaking with Ariel Helwani, Kross directly addressed these thoughts.

He made it clear that his strong words did not come from a place of unhappiness, but from a deep desire to achieve more and give WWE fans their money’s worth.

“The biggest misconception anyone can take from what I said on WrestleMania was that I’m disgruntled. I’m not,” Kross stated. “I’m just really, really, really hungry, man. I’m really hungry. All of this is coming from a place of passion. It’s all about the grand scheme of things. People are paying to come watch the greatest show in the world. I want to be a reason on the show where they felt like they got every single cent worth of that. I want to be more than just an Easter egg.”
