Rey Mysterio vs. El Grande Americano Set for WrestleMania 41

0

Rey Mysterio is officially scheduled to compete at WrestleMania 41. The match was confirmed during Monday night’s episode of WWE RAW following a controversial ringside incident.

Mysterio was present during a match involving El Grande Americano and members of the LWO. The bout ended in controversy when Americano used a piece of metal hidden in his mask to secure a win. After being struck with the object himself, Mysterio confronted WWE official Adam Pearce backstage.

Frustrated by the lack of consequences, Mysterio rejected the idea of facing Chad Gable—believed by some to be under the mask. Instead, he demanded a WrestleMania match against El Grande Americano, citing the disrespect shown to his culture and identity.

Pearce agreed to the request, stating he would grant the match out of respect for Mysterio. While the match is now official, the specific date—April 19 or April 20—has yet to be determined within the two-day WrestleMania 41 lineup.

WWE Confirms WWE ID Title Tournaments for WrestleMania Week

0

WWE has confirmed new details surrounding the WWE ID Championships, revealing that the inaugural champions will be crowned through a double-elimination tournament during WrestleMania week in Las Vegas.

The opening rounds will be split across two events: GCW will host The ID Tournament on April 16 as part of The Collective 2025, followed by FSW on April 18 after SmackDown.

The tournament will include all current WWE ID prospects, but will also be open to independent talent. The double-elimination format means competitors must lose twice to be eliminated.

In a key development, WWE announced that if a non-WWE ID prospect wins a championship, they will be awarded a WWE ID contract. Once crowned, the WWE ID Titles will be defended across various independent wrestling promotions, adding a new level of visibility and opportunity for unsigned talent.

Rhea Ripley Wanted to Throw Her Dream Away After WWE Debut

0

Rhea Ripley has become a leading name in WWE but that never would have happeend had she given into her early insecurities. Speaking on Stephanie’s Places on ESPN, Ripley recalled debuting in WWE as part of the 2017 Mae Young Classic and being wrought with worries at the time.

“I started doubting myself. I wanted to move back to Australia. I wanted to throw my dream away.”

The problem? Ripley felt the immense pressure of the opportinity presented getting to her. That pressure meant that Ripley “wasn’t doing things to the best of my abilities,” which only made her feel worse. Not only did her self-doubt worry Ripley but others took notice of her in-ring concerns, and they too doubted whether she could cut it.

After much soul-searching, Ripley recognized that she had to get her anxiety under control if she wanted to continue to chase her WWE dream. What followed was Ripley looking within herself to understand what exactly was causing the problem she was facing.

“I sat down with myself one day and I was like ‘You need to be better. You need to be yourselfand you need to prove people wrong.'”

Recognizing that change was necessary, Ripley began with a source of major concern, her appearance. Rhea admitted that she’d hide behind her long blonde hair when embarrassed describing this safety mechanism as a “cloak” she used to protect herself.

“I had to remember who I was and become myself. The real me.”

After presenting a fake version of herself that she felt she could hide behind, Ripley eventually learned to embrace who she really is. Now, fans get to see the real Rhea Ripley, a metal-loving, black-embracing badass each week on WWE programming, despite these major mental obstacles early into her career.

Swerve Strickland Teases New Alliance After Dynasty Defeat

0

AEW Dynasty saw Swerve Strickland screwed out of the AEW World Championship thanks to the returning Young Bucks. With both the Young Bucks and the Death Riders having Strickland in their sights, it may be time for Swerve to find some allies of his own.

Following Dynasty, Swerve shared a video of himself meeting MVP, leader of the Hurt Syndicate. After MVP gave Strickland the once-over, including noticing a nasty lump on Swerve’s hands, the pair shook hands, seemingly confiming business.

Strickland and MVP’s meeting has left fans wondering whether Swerve could soon join the Hurt Syndicate, which already includes Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. With the pair already holding the AEW World Tag Team Championships, MVP’s managerial skills are already proven, giving Strickland another reason to consider joining the group.

MJF has also teased joining the Hurt Syndicate though the group has seemed less than eager to bring the longest-reigning AEW World Champion into the fold. With AEW Dynamite set to be an explosive post-Dynasty show, it may not be long until fans learn more of whatever business MVP and Strickland were able to shake hands about.

Drew McIntyre Regrets Never Getting ‘Bored At Work’ Shirt

0

Drew McIntyre’s time at WrestleMania 40 was a mixed time at the office for the Scottish Warrior. While McIntyre finally had his World Championship win in front of a live crowd, his moment was snatched away from him thanks to CM Punk and the Money In The Bank-cashing in Damian Priest.

During McIntyre’s title match with Seth Rollins, Drew took the time to post on X, telling fans that he was ‘Bored at work LOL.’ Reflecting on the one-year anniversary of his infamous tweet, McIntyre shared that he’d intended to have it made into a shirt.

McIntyre would continue his feud with Punk for much of 2024 with the pair trading wins at SummerSlam and Bash In Berlin. Inside Hell in A Cell at WWE Bad Blood 2024, Punk defeated McIntyre in the rubber match. Though both have moved onto other feuds, the pair remain at odds with McIntyre even referencing Punk’s infamous AEW exit following a recent episode of SmackDown.

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre may never see eye-to-eye but both have reached the very top of WWE. With WrestleMania 41 looming, it remains to be seen if McIntyre ever gets the t-shirt he feels should’ve come in 2024.

Sheamus Provides An Update Amid WWE Hiatus

0

WWE star Sheamus recently provided an update on his whereabouts amid his time off from WWE. ‘The Celtic Warrior’ has confirmed that he will be out of action for the next few weeks as he is spending time in his homeland, Ireland.

Taking to X, the former World Champion dropped a photo of himself in County Clare in Ireland. In the caption, he revealed that he was taking big bumps there. He also showed off some wounds on his knees. Check out the post below:

Sheamus had recently made his return to the ring during WWE’s European tour last month. His last on-screen appearance took place when he competed in the Men’s Royal Rumble match in January.

In the Rumble, ‘The Celtic Warrior’ spent over 15 minutes competing. If he had won the Royal Rumble, Sheamus would have challenged Bron Breakker for his Intercontinental Championship. Unfortunately, his hopes were shattered after he was eliminated by Roman Reigns.

WWE Intercontinental Championship is the only title which has evaded Sheamus’ decorated resume. He has challenged for the coveted title on multiple occasions but failed to capture. This is the only title which is keeping him away from becoming a Grand Slam Champion in WWE. Fans will have to wait for at least next few weeks and see when he decides to make his return to in-ring action.

Saraya Teases WWE Return, Wants To Tick-Off 2 Things On Her Bucket List

0

Former AEW star Saraya (formerly Paige in WWE) has opened up on her pro wrestling future and she has set some goals.

The former WWE Divas Champion has teased a potential return to WWE and revealed that there are a couple of match stipulations that she wants to cross off.

Saraya recently joined in for an interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider. She has revealed that she has set some goals in pro wrestling and highlighted that she has never been a part of Women’s Royal Rumble or the Elimination Chamber match. Saraya also stated that she is planning to train with WWE star Natalya in the Hart Family “Dungeon.” She said:

“I would like to get back in the ring this year and really train and find myself again. I feel like I didn’t do that the past couple of years. I want to do the training side of things. I want to go to Nattie’s training school and get in the ring with her. That’s my focus this year. I didn’t get to do a Royal Rumble or an Elimination Chamber or anything I didn’t get to do. Maybe down the line I will get to do them, who knows?”

In 2018, WWE introduced the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber matches. However, due to Saraya’s neck injury she was not cleared to wrestle at the time and was forced to retire. She ultimately departed the company in 2022.

So, naturally she unable to compete in any of the special stipulation matches. She eventually joined AEW in 2022 and again started competing inside the ring. However, Saraya recently made her exit from AEW and her return to WWE has been rumored ever since.

Recently, several wrestlers have already jumped ship from AEW including Penta and Rey Fenix. There is a huge possibility that Saraya could follow suit. But the question remains whether the WWE medical team give a green signal to Saraya for competing in the ring.

Neck injuries have disrupted careers of several talented wrestlers and it is not be taken lightly. Most recently, Kevin Owens have suffered the same fate, who is dealing with a serious neck injury.

Career Milestone: Cody Rhodes Reaches 1 Year as WWE Champion

0

Cody Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania 40: Sunday, ending the 1,316-day reign of Roman Reigns to become Undisputed WWE Champion. Now, Rhodes is celebrating a milestone in his career as he has reached one whole year with the gold.

Rhodes won the title on April 7, 2024, and has had a whirlwind reign on top ever since. Along the way, Rhodes has defended against the likes of Logan Paul, AJ Styles, Solo Sikoa, and Kevin Owens. Proving the old wrestling adage of ‘never say never,’ Rhodes even teamed with Reigns in late 2024 to battle Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline.

Rhodes has proven to be a fighting champion, unlike his predecessor who would often go months without a title defense. In his first year with the gold, Rhodes has defended his title 58 times, averaging more than once a week. The majority of these defenses have come at untelevised live events or in dark matches after WWE TV tapings.

Rhodes’ title reign hasn’t just been about leading WWE in its current era but also paying homage to those who have come before. For Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2024, Rhodes brought back the classic Winged Eagle title design for his match with Kevin Owens. Fans were elated to see the design, once held by legends like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, back on WWE programming.

Now, Rhodes begins Year 2 of his reign though John Cena hopes to put a swift end to his time as champion at WrestleMania 41. With the Undisputed WWE Champion and arguably the very soul of WWE on the line in Allegiant Stadium, Rhodes will do all he can to keep hold of the richest prize in WWE today.

Cody Rhodes: I Might Be the Next WWE Star Headed to Hollywood

0

The likes of Hulk Hogan, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Jesse Ventura, The Rock, John Cena, Adam Copeland, and Batista have all taken their talent to Hollywood. WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is hinting that he may be the next wrestler to do so.

“I’d love to get out there, there’s some fun projects coming up,” Rhodes stated while appearing on Pardon My Take. “I’d love to get out there and tell stories that way for sure and grow. I love pro wrestling, I always will. To get out there, I love what Rock has done, I love what John has done, and Dave Batista as well. All of them have gone different routes when approaching Hollywood and I think I might be next to join the fray in all that.”

The top WWE star has been cast in the upcoming Naked Gun reboot.  Inspired by the comedy classics featuring Leslie Nielsen, the film will feature Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Nielsen’s character.

In less than two weeks, Rhodes will defend the WWE Title against John Cena at WrestleMania 41.

Liv Morgan Could Miss WWE Monday Night Raw Due to Travel Issues

0

WWE Monday Night Raw will return to the U.S. with the April 7, episode set to take place in the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While some of WWE’s very top stars will be appearing, Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan may not be among them.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Morgan shared that her flight to Minneapolis has been delayed multiple times. The popular Raw Superstar even cast doubt on being able to make it to the show in time.

image 1

Liv’s potential absence raises questions as to what potential changes will be made to accomodate for the missing Superstar. At this time, WWE has not announced anything for Morgan or her tag-team partner Raquel Rodriguez, though a stacked card has been confirmed for the show.

Morgan’s travel woes come ahead of this Friday’s WWE SmackDown where a six-team match will determine who she and Raquel will defend their Women’s Tag Team Titles against at WrestleMania 41. Hopefully, Morgan will be able to avoid any more travel issues on the road to Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium later this month.

Chris Jericho Lost More Than A Title At AEW Dynasty

0

Chris Jericho lost the Ring of Honor World Championship at AEW Dynasty but that’s not all that the veteran lost. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez shared that Jericho left Philadelphia shy of one of his teeth.

“Apparently [he] was not happy—Jericho did lose a tooth… Sometimes they say that, but the guy doesn’t spit… This guy actually lost a tooth.”

It’s not clear when exactly Jericho and his tooth parted ways as there were plenty of moments when the injury may have happened. From being struck with a baseball bat to being slapped by a member of Bandido’s family, there were no shortage of moments when Jericho may have lost his tooth.

The match between the two saw more than Jericho’s ROH World Championship on the line, as Bandido agreed to defend his mask. The finish of the match initially saw Jericho cheat to win. When Bandido’s family informed referee Aubrey Edwards of what had happened, she agreed for the match to be restarted and Bandido won.

Jericho’s defeat ends his second reign as ROH World Champion and kicks off Bandido’s second reign with the gold. While Britt Baker may be able to fix Jericho’s dental problem, the blow to the veteran wrestler’s pride by his loss at AEW Dynasty may prove harder to repair.

Bryan Danielson Reportedly Returns Backstage At AEW Dynasty

0

Former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson was backstage at last night’s AEW Dynasty pay-per-view in Philadelphia, PA, according to PWInsider.

The outlet shared little detail on Danielson’s backstage presence but they confirmed that he was at The Liacouras Center in Philadelphia and was there “all night”.

However, no details were shared as to what Bryan Danielson was doing backstage. This is not the first time he has made a backstage appearance. Bryan Danielson was also backstage at AEW Dynamite previously.

‘The American Dragon’ has been away from the programming since WrestleDream which took place in October last year. In his final match as a full-time competitor, he lost the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley.

Danielson hasn’t made any appearances on AEW television since then. However, he did make an appearance at the All In: Texas ticket on-sale rally on December 9th last year.

The former WWE star has a history with neck injuries which put him on the shelf for quite some time. It also shortened his WWE in-ring career. The former Daniel Bryan was also forced to retire due to his neck issues but was able to make a return to in-ring action in March 2018. Danielson’s future in wrestling remains up in the air and he previously addressed his future, saying there’s a 50/50 chance he’ll wrestle again.

How WWE Fumbled Wrestling’s Biggest Dream Match

The collision of two wrestling icons—Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair—was set to be the match of the century at WrestleMania VIII (1992). But it never happened. According to veteran WWF broadcaster Sean Mooney, it wasn’t just one issue that killed the bout—it was a “perfect storm” of problems.

“I still go, how did that not really happen? Maybe the timing…the perfect storm…an earthquake, a tornado, and an avalanche happening all at once,” Mooney said during a conversation with Ten Count Media.

From poor ticket sales and steroid scandal backlash to Ric Flair’s unfamiliarity with WWF fans, the company never got the groundswell it expected.

The problem, Mooney explains, wasn’t Flair’s talent. Upon his arrival in the World Wrestling Federation (Summer 1991), he was still the same ‘Naich that led the Four Horsemen and had classic rivalries with Dusty Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat. The main issue was the new audience he’d be wrestling for.

“He was as great as ever—hadn’t lost a step,” he said. The real issue was visibility. “There were a lot of people that didn’t know who the F he was,” Mooney recalled Flair saying about his early house show reception.

Flair was a household name in the South, but the WWF’s Northeast-heavy audience didn’t grow up watching the “Nature Boy.”

“They thought all we got to do is get him here. People will just go crazy…they took it for granted,” Mooney explained. “They needed to tell people who he was, what he’d done, why he mattered—and they didn’t.”

Unlike stars like Mr. Perfect or The Undertaker, Flair didn’t receive the signature vignettes WWF used to launch characters.

“If they could’ve maybe done it in a historic way, showing his path…maybe it would’ve connected,” said Mooney.

By the time the Hogan vs. Flair dream match made it to WCW years later, the reaction proved there was a demand.

“Everybody knew who Hulk Hogan was…and WCW already had a base that loved Ric Flair,” Mooney said. “In WWF, it was different. It just wasn’t the right setting.”

Mooney, like many fans, still wonders what could’ve been.

“I wanted it to work. I really did. It should’ve been magic.”

Here’s what Hogan said about the matter last year:

First Look At John Cena’s ‘Peacemaker: Season 2’

0

John Cena’s portrayal of Peacemaker has been a fan favorite since his debut in The Suicide Squad (2021), leading to the spinoff series Peacemaker on the Max streaming service. Now, fans are gearing up for the second season of the series.

HBO previously confirmed that Season 2 of Peacemaker will premiere in 2025, with Cena reprising his role. Deadline reported in February that DC Studios co-chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran stated that the second season remains on track for an August release.

Peacemaker is a superhero who values peace so much that he is willing to kill—even innocents—to achieve it. For now, a new teaser trailer has been released, as seen below:

The series also stars Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, and Chukwudi Iwuji. Gunn wrote all eight first-season episodes and directed five, including the premiere. The Peacemaker finale aired on February 17, 2022, and set a single-day viewership record for the then-newly rebranded Max streaming service.Cena will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41.

Tony Khan: I Take Fan Comments Into Consideration

0

Tony Khan’s booking of AEW has often come under scrutiny from fans, from leaving talent going unused for months to the more recent Death Riders angle. Speaking on the post AEW Dynasty post-show media scrum, Khan made clear that the comments by fans on social media don’t go unnoticed.

“Absolutely, I take that into consideration. We had a lot of great moments for the fans tonight.”

One decision that has split fans is the return of the Young Bucks at AEW Dynasty, who would cost Swerve Strickland the AEW World Championship in the main event. While Khan admitted that this was “not necessarily the outcome that a lot of people were hoping for,” he argued that there’s no intrigue to see what Matthew and Nicholas Jackson do next.

“This creates a lot of intrigue to have the Young Bucks come back. It’s important to remember we have not seen the Young Bucks in almost six months in AEW.”

Whether fans agree with all his choices or not, Khan continues to have the final say on what makes it to AEW programming. And while many fans may take issue with some aspects of his booking, many remain interested to see what’s to come for Strickland, the Bucks, and AEW World Champion Jon Moxley after the explosive ending to AEW Dynamite.

The Undertaker Lashes Out At Boxing Icon’s Son Over In-Ring Jewelry

0

The Undertaker is a true legend of the ring and he knows what he wants to see, and what he doesn’t want to see in the squared circle. On the latest episode of WWE LFG, The Undertaker took issue with Elijah Holyfield wearing a chain and earrings during his match. The Phenom told Elijah, the son of boxing icon Evander Holyfield that “you’re lucky I’m retired” before arguing that Holyfield was risking serious lacerations by wrestling with jewelry.

“If I was to work with you and you got in the ring with that chain and those earrings in, I would rip them out.”

Holyfield may be wise to take the Deadman’s advice, given that his father knows a thing or two about losing part of an ear in the ring. In pro-wrestling, several names have suffered jewelry-related injuries. During the May 23, 2024, edition of TNA iMPACT, Jordynne Grace had a chunk of her ear ripped out when her earring got caught in the tights of opponent Marti Belle. In 2020, Rhea Ripley lost a chunk of her ear due to her earrings being caught during a match in WWE NXT against IYO SKY.

Undertaker’s comments are not the first time a legend has had a hot take over a wrestler’s ring attire. Mickie James recently hit out at Zena Sterling’s attire, arguing that it was like lingerie and a step backwards for the progress women’s wrestling has made. James’ comment divided opinion among fans with some believing Mickie was right to question Sterling’s attire. Some argued that James had worn just as revealing outfits, and the progress James is fighting for would mean Sterling has the choice to where what she wishes.

Swerve Strickland Pays Homage to DC Comics’ Static At AEW Dynasty

0

Swerve Strickland dressed to impress at AEW Dynasty with a look that fans of DC Comics will have been excited by. Ahead of his AEW World Championship main event, Strickland wore a black and yellow attire with blue and white details. his entrance that included flashes of lightning showed that the challenger was indeed electrifying in Philadelphia for the pay-per-view.

Swerve’s attire wasn’t just to impress the crowd but was inspired by DC Comics character Static. The character, real name Virgil Hawkins, debuted in Icon #1 (May 1993) in a preview and would make his full appearance debut in Static #1 the following month. A metahuman with the ability to control electricity, Static gained major notoriety in the early 2000s when he received his own animated TV show Static Shock.

Strickland’s gear is the latest connection between AEW and DC Comics, both of which are associated with Warner Bros. Discovery. Recently, the two sides stepped into the ring together to create a series of short stories about wrestlers. These stories blended the real-life journeys with the wrestling characters of Strickland, Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, Will Ospreay, Britt Baker, and ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm.

Strickland may not have left AEW Dynasty as World Champion but he certainly looked the part of a real-life superhero. It remains to be seen what’s to come for Strickland after his setback in the show’s chaotic main event.

Swerve Strickland Gives Explosive Message to Booker T After AEW Dynasty

0

Swerve Strickland didn’t leave AEW Dynasty as a two-time World Champion but he had an explosive message after the show aimed at WWE’s Booker T. In a post-show promo, Strickland began by thanking fans for their support as well as those who worked to make the show happen. In his final comments, Swerve took aim at the WWE Hall of Famer/NXT commentator, telling the fans in Philadelphia “F*** Booker T!”

Strickland’s comment is not some out-of-the-blue outburst but the escalation of tensions between the two. During an interview with The Breakfast Club, Strickland echoed the criticism many have had with WWE’s treatment of black wrestlers and a perceived lack of opportunities for many. While many agreed with Swerve, Booker said he hated that people still talk about “this race thing” and said he was treated fairly by WWE for 20 years.

In a response on Vlad TV, Strickland questioned if Vince McMahon using the N-Word in front of Booker was Booker being treated fairly, and brought up Black talent not getting singles matches on PLEs. Booker fired back on his Hall of Fame podcast as he recalled a recent meet-up with Swerve and telling Strickland how disappointed he is for his comments. Booker even went as far as to say that without his efforts for black wrestlers, Strickland may never have gotten into the wrestling business.

Strickland had just three words about Booker after Dynasty, but there’s a ton of context behind them, ending AEW’s latest event in Philadelphia on a shocking note.

Young Bucks Return, Cost Swerve Strickland At AEW Dynasty

0

Swerve Strickland’s ambitions to become a two-time AEW World Champion went up in smoke at AEW Dynasty, thanks to the returning Young Bucks. In the show’s main event, Strickland battled Jon Moxley for the title which has been carried around in a briefcase. The show was extra special for Strickland as he won the AEW World Championship at Dynasty 2024 and hoped to repeat this success in 2025.

Strickland and Moxley held nothing back in their match, and when Marina Shafir attempted to interfere, Prince Nana put an end to her efforts. Not only did Shafir not cost Strickland the match, but the AEW World Champion accidentally hit her with a cutter. Later on, the other Death Riders got involved but Hangman Adam Page and the Opps would fight them off.

The finish of the match saw Swerve Strickland set Moxley up for the Swerve Stomp and hit it flush. Then, the lights went out before Swerve could make what would’ve been the decisive cover. When the lights came back on, the Young Bucks were in the ring and and they hit Swerve with the BTE Trigger. The ref crawled into the ring and made the count to declare Moxley the winner.

The immediate response online to this finish was mixed. While some fans are excited to see the Bucks back, others believe their return ruined the finish. This frustration stems from many fans not liking the Death Riders storyline and believing that Dynasty was the right time and Swerve was the right wrestler to take the gold away from Moxley.

Instead, Moxley’s reign continues to chug along, thanks once again to outside interference. With the Bucks back, it remains to be seen how Strickland will respond to being screwed out of the richest prize in AEW.

Kenny Omega Retains At AEW Dynasty, Confronted By Kazuchika Okada

0

AEW Dynasty saw the International Title on the line with Kenny Omega defending his title against Speedball Mike Bailey and Ricochet. Despite the odds being against him and the fact that he didn’t need to be pinned to lose the gold, Omega was able to leave the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

All three men were given a chance to shine, complete with flashy entrances before the match got underway. Eventually, Kenny Omega nailed a One Winged Angel off the top rope on Ricochet. With Speedball hung up in the ropes, Omega was able to get the win to retain the gold.

Ospreay didn’t have long to celebrate, however, as he was confronted by Kazuchika Okada after the match. Though the pair did not get physical, its clear that a title match between the two will come when the time is right, perhaps at AEW All In: Texas.

Okada’s confrontation with Omega fuels the speculation that AEW plans on unifying the International and Continental Championships into one title. Whatever comes next, fans can expect magic in the ring when Omega and Okada eventually do battle.

Santos Escobar Appears At Todo x Todo Wrestling Event

0

Santos Escobar is a bonafide name in WWE but the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion recently appeared at a non-WWE wrestling event. The SmackDown Superstar was in attendance for Hijo Del Santo’s Todo x Todo event on April 6, and was spotted sitting next to his father El Fantasma.

Though Escobar didn’t compete at the event, he did have a role to play. During the show, he was given a gift by Dr. Wagner Jr.

Escobar’s presence at the show once again demonstrates WWE’s willingness to let its talent appear outside of their own promotion. Later this month, several WWE Superstars will compete at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIII, an event run as part of the GCW Collective.

Back on WWE programming, Santos has been growing increasingly frustrated with Humberto and Angel, while Andrade has encouraged the pair to stand up for themselves. All signs are pointing to the duo leaving Escobar, bringing an end to Legado Del Fantasma, to join Andrade in a new faction. Though it remains to be seen when that’ll happen, Santos Escobar cetainly enjoyed himself out of WWE this past weekend.

Adam Cole Marks 17th Anniversay In Wrestling with AEW TNT Title Win

0

AEW Dynasty 2025 took place at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, featuring a lineup of high-stakes matches. In the AEW TNT Championship match, Daniel Garcia defended against Adam Cole in a match with no time limit and no outside interference.

The match commenced with both competitors cautiously feeling each other out. Garcia gained early control, mounting Cole in the corner to deliver punches. After a series of back-and-forth, Cole executed a Panama Sunrise followed by a Boom Kick, resulting in a near fall. Though Garcia tried a top-rope piledriver, Cole fought him off and ultimately secured the victory.

This marks Cole’s first reguarly defended singles title in AEW, as he is also an Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winner. The match and victory was even more special as it marked Cole’s 17th anniversary since his debut in the world of professional wrestling.

Now, it remains to be seen how far the new AEW TNT Champion goes with the gold. Fans will also have to see what’s to come for Daniel Garcia who had held the title since Full Gear 2024.

Bandido Wins Second ROH World Title at AEW Dynasty 2025

0

Bandido walked out of AEW Dynasty 2025 with both his mask and the ROH World Championship intact after a chaotic and controversial showdown with Chris Jericho.

The match came with high stakes, as Bandido had to put his mask on the line in order to earn a title shot. Initially, Jericho appeared to secure the win after using a hidden baseball bat behind the steel steps to strike Bandido, followed by a pinfall.

Interference played a major role in the outcome, with Bryan Keith attempting to assist Jericho mid-match. However, Bandido and Gravity managed to fend him off. Despite the interference, Jericho capitalized and pinned Bandido following the illegal bat shot.

Before Jericho could remove Bandido’s mask, the luchador’s mother and sister, seated at ringside, informed referee Aubrey Edwards about the weapon usage. This led to Bryce Remsburg restarting the match.

In the restart, Jericho attempted to target Bandido’s sister, only to be slapped in return. Moments later, Bandido landed a decisive pinfall to capture the ROH World Championship for the second time in his career.

The match concluded with Bandido celebrating in the ring alongside his family and Gravity, closing out one of the night’s most dramatic moments. One highlight saw Bandido hold Jericho in a vertical suplex for a full minute, showcasing his strength in a bout filled with emotion and controversy.

Toni Storm Survives Megan Bayne at AEW Dynasty 2025

0

Toni Storm successfully defended the AEW Women’s World Championship at AEW Dynasty, overcoming a strong challenge from Megan Bayne. The “Timeless” champion endured Bayne’s power-based offense, including a diving clothesline and powerbomb combination.

Bayne appeared close to victory after setting up for her Bow Down finisher, but Storm countered, landing on her feet and rolling Bayne up with a small package to secure the pinfall.

Throughout the match, Luther and Penelope Ford played a role, with Luther eventually carrying Ford away from ringside to reduce outside interference.

Storm entered the bout in a unique boxer-inspired outfit, paying homage to Rocky, complete with a pre-match training montage. Luther also embraced the theme, dressing as her cornerman instead of his usual butler attire.

This victory marks Storm’s second successful title defense since capturing the championship from Mariah May at AEW Grand Slam Australia.
