Cody Rhodes Confirms Big Money In The Bank Match After SNME Return

0

Cody Rhodes has confirmed his return match.

WWE presented the second Saturday Night’s Main Event of 2025 from Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The main event of the show saw Jey Uso defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul.

After getting a nearfall from a Samoan Drop, Jey delivered a splash from the top rope, and he looked all set to win the match. However John Cena who had a run in with Uso earlier in the night showed up and pulled the referee out of the ring before he could complete the count.

The 17-time world champion then started beating the former Bloodline star until Kingdom hit. As the crowd sang his theme, Cody Rhodes made his way to the ring for the first time since his WrestleMania 41 loss.

The American Nightmare got the upper hand on Cena and he sent John out of the ring with a Cross Rhodes. Logan Paul tried to take Rhodes down with his Brass Knuckles but the YouTube star ended up eating a spear from Uso.

The World champ went on top again and delivered another splash. The referee finally woke up and counted the pin, allowing Jey to retain his title.

Cody Rhodes then grabbed the mic to address Cena. He told the Cenation Leader that he had ruined wrestling enough and announced that he’ll be teaming with Jey to face Cena and Paul at the upcoming Money In The Bank PPV on June 7.

The duo of John Cena and Logan Paul left afterward but Rhodes and Uso remained in the ring. You can check out what they did after the show went off air here.

Chelsea Green Claims Broken Nose After WWE SNME Defeat

0

Chelsea Green wasn’t able to regain the Women’s U.S. Title at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, coming up short against Zelina Vega. Not only did the self-professed ‘Hot Mess’ fail to win the gol, but she also suffered a facial injury that left her bleeding from the nose.

On X, Green shared her instant reaction, and was at a loss for words after her defeat.

Composing herself, Green would explain that she suffered a broken nose during the match. In the heat of the moment though, Green mistook the referee telling her of the injury to the referee claiming she had won. Green also vowed that she’d bounce back and that she wouln’t be down for long.

Chelsea Green and the Secret Hervice planned to kick-off Green’s second administration at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Despite winning the gold at last December’s iteration of the nostalgic event, ligtning did not strike twice for the Canadian.

Drew McIntyre Taking a Break from WWE

Drew McIntyre is expected to be off WWE television for the foreseeable future.

According to PWInsider, McIntyre wrapped up his current run with WWE during Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he lost to Damian Priest in a steel cage match.

Backstage sources indicated that McIntyre will be taking an extended break from WWE and is not scheduled to appear on TV moving forward.

Although there have been rumors linking McIntyre to a major Hollywood opportunity, this hiatus is said to be unrelated and is instead a personal break.

Watch: What Happened With Cody Rhodes & Jet USO After WWE SNME

After WWE went off the air in Tampa, Cody Rhodes addressed the crowd, calling Jey Uso the perfect World Heavyweight Champion to send fans home happy in what he proudly referred to as “Rhodes Country.”

Jey Uso, wearing Rhodes’ American Nightmare jacket, took a moment to thank the audience and reflect on his early days in Tampa. He recalled living near Fletcher Avenue and mentioned a few encounters with Hillsborough County police, giving a shoutout to the area.

Closing his remarks with humor and sincerity, Uso encouraged the local kids to listen to their parents.

Cody Rhodes Attacks John Cena In WWE SNME Return, Teases Tag Match

0

Cody Rhodes made an emphatic return at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and wasted no time in confronting his nemesis John Cena.

During the show’s main event, Jey Uso defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Logan Paul. When it appeared that Jey had the match won, Cena emerged and took out the referee. John proceeded to attack Jey, a follow-up from their earlier backstage segment in which John said Paul winning the gold would ‘ruin wrestling.’

Cena’s attack was cut short by the returning Rhodes in his first appearance since WrestleMania 41. With Rhodes neutralizing the ‘Unseen Seventeen,’ Jey was able to score the win on Paul after a Spear.

After the match, Rhodes declared that Cena has been ruining things for long enough. Highlighting that the battle lines have been drawn with Cena and Paul on one side, and himself and Jey on the other, Rhodes declared “We’ll see you at Money in the Bank!”

Money in the Bank will take place on June 7, with the card already building to one of the most exciting PLEs of the year. Now, fans can expect a massive tag match next month between four huge Superstars.

TKO in Talks to Put UFC on Netflix, Latest on UFC, ESPN relationship (Exclusive)

0

TKO, the parent company of Ultimate Fighting Championship, is negotiating with Netflix in a potential deal that could land the mixed-martial arts promotion on the world’s most popular streaming service, according to sources familiar with the negotiations.

UFC is nearing the end of its 7-year, $1.5 billion deal with ESPN. The exclusive negotiation period between ESPN and UFC ended on April 15.

While both Netflix and UFC are talking, there are major hurdles that could impede a deal.

TKO wants $1 billion per year for UFC, a massive increase from the seven-year, $1.5 billion deal the promotion had with ESPN. UFC’s regular pay-per-view and weekly show model doesn’t line up with Netflix’s strategy laid out last month by co-CEO Ted Sarandos, who proclaimed a focus on big events.

Netflix doesn’t want to add a pay-per-view model to its current service. The streamer said it’s well aware of how increasing subscription prices may push viewers away. A multi-year, multi-billion dollar deal would force Netflix would apply pressure to raise its subscription rate again.

A source said Netflix could take on UFC Fight Night as regular programming or add another tier specific to UFC to keep subs low for general subscribers.

TKO would like to keep UFC on ESPN in some capacity, including UFC President Dana White. But interest from ESPN may be simmering as Disney has begun focusing on long-term, larger sports leagues with more guaranteed ratings like the NFL, NBA and college football.

TKO sees UFC’s five years on ESPN as an important high mark for making the company and MMA a legitimate big league sport. Other sports, like the NHL and NASCAR, saw negative effects in the past after leaving ESPN for other networks because the network stopped nearly all of its coverage once those leagues left the channel.

ESPN and UFC were reportedly very far apart when their exclusive negotiation window ended, but adding Netflix to the mix as another outlet would give UFC more exposure on two major platforms and a chance to hit TKO’s goal of $1 billion per year.

TKO negotiated a five-year deal with Netflix for WWE Raw, which began airing on the streamer in January.

Other potential players for UFC

After Warner Bros. Discovery lost its rights to the NBA, the company began considering UFC with those suddenly free billions in NBA dollars. That strategy changed and WBD’s interest in UFC dropped considerably after it changed its focus to current IPs and making MAX (now HBO MAX, again), a high-level, but niche player in the streaming market. The company is also waiting out the new Superman movie set this fall, directed by James Gunn, which is another re-launch of WBD’s DC Comics on Cinema.

NBCUniversal could be a possible home for UFC, but NBCU has been on a spending spree following its latest deal with the NBA. NBCU is a favorite to land the Major League Baseball package after the relationship between ESPN and MLB soured, causing the two sides to split in the middle of their deal.

One upside, TKO is already familiar with NBCU due to its long-time relationship with WWE. The Peacock streaming service already airs WWE “PLE” shows.

Amazon Prime Video is another consideration for UFC PPV, especially if the promotion were to partner with another studio for its Fight Night and regular showings.

Bronson Reed Returns, Aligns With Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker & Paul Heyman

0

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event kicked off in a thunderous manner with the return of Bronson Reed to programming. In the opening match, CM Punk and Seth Rollins battled Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker. This back-and-forth contest featured some of the very top stars Monday Night Raw has to offer.

The finish of the match saw the faces rolling until Reed emerged and sent Punk through the barricade. The numbers game would prove too much for Sami, who was pinned by Bron Breakker. After the match, Breakker and Reed tease throwing hands, until Rollins hugged his former nemesis. Reed and Breakker also hugged and Reed would hit a Tsunami on Punk for good measure.

Reed had suffered an injury at Survivor Series: WarGames in November 2024 after diving off of the WarGames structure. Now Reed is back and is part of what’s proving to be one of WWE’s most dominant groups.

The Miz Thinks WWE Star Could Surpass John Cena As GOAT

0

The Miz, who has shared the ring with Seth Rollins nearly 100 times, has shared praise upon the former World Heavyweight Champion, calling him the best pure wrestler he has ever encountered. Speaking on Good Morning Football, The Miz didn’t hold back his admiration for Rollins’ abilities.

“Seth is the greatest in-ring technician I have ever wrestled in my entire career. It’s not even close,” The Miz stated. “People don’t understand the mental capacity it takes to be a top-caliber main event superstar.”

The Miz further predicted a legendary future for Rollins, suggesting he could surpass even John Cena in historical discussions: “A lot of people call John Cena the greatest of all time, I think, when Seth Rollins is done in WWE and pro wrestling, we’ll be talking about his name as the greatest of all time because mentally, physically, he has all the gifts to become that person.”

Referencing Rollins’ performance at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas earlier this year, Miz dubbed him “Mr. Main Event,” telling viewers, “If you watched the main event this year on Saturday in Vegas, you would’ve seen Mr. Main Event in that ring in Seth Freakin’ Rollins.”

The Miz and Rollins frequently competed against each other at live events throughout 2023 when Rollins was the World Heavyweight Champion.

John Cena Declares Current 17th World Title Reign His Favorite

0

WWE icon John Cena, who captured his historic 17th world championship at WrestleMania 41 earlier this year—two decades after his first world title win in 2005—has named his current reign as his most cherished. Speaking at the Philadelphia Fan Expo on May 24, 2025, the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion shared his perspective on this achievement.

When asked which of his many championship runs stands out as his favorite, Cena pointed directly to his present one. “It’s gotta be this one,” he stated. “If everything lines up, this is the one I’m taking home with me to put on my mantle, so hopefully this one.”

He has publicly promised to “ruin wrestling and destroy the history of the world championship” when he plans to retire as the Undisputed WWE Champion at the end of December 2025. He makes his latest appearance at Saturday Night’s Main Event when he faces off with R-Truth in a non-title match.

Cena will retire at the end of this year. Thus far, he has worked the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania and Backlash PLEs.

Oba Femi Vows Win Over ‘Stephanie’s Boyfriend’ in NXT Title Match

0

The rumored relationship between Myles Borne and NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer has seemingly been confirmed by Borne’s rival Oba Femi. During an interview with WFLA’s Stream Center, Femi confirmed the relationship while discussing his upcoming match with Borne.

“I’m looking forward to, you know, beating up Stephanie’s boyfriendhe’s worked his way up the ranks and uh—he’s won a couple matches to earn an opportunity for the NXT Championship, which I respect.”

While Femi acknowledges that Borne has earned his shot at the title, that won’t change the result in the eyes of the reigning NXT Champion.

“This is not a Disney movie. You don’t get the happy ending. You don’t get to run off into the sunset with my belt.”

Borne and Vaquer were recently spotted together on social media, leading some to speculate that the NXT duo were an item. Now, it appears Femi has confirmed that this is the case.

Borne, who recently opened up about his deafness, will challenge Femi at WWE NXT Battleground. While many are rooting for Borne to win the gold, Femi is vowing that this will not be a Hollywood feel-good ending at the May 25, event.

Karrion Kross Reveals Pitch to Revive WWE’s Corporate Ministry

0

Karrion Kross was once the leader of the Final Testament, but he once had plans to resurrect a much different faction. Speaking to 10 Count with Steve Fall, Kross revealed that he once wanted to bring back the Corporate Ministry.

“I had ideas about bringing back the Corporate Ministry. That was—that was one of my final ideas that I had. And I had a series of writers on board for that. They thought it was a very good idea.

The Corporate Ministry came together in 1999 and was a merger of The Corporation, led by Vince and Shane McMahon, and The Undertaker’s Ministry of Darkness. Kross explained how he wanted to give his group a fresh twist by tapping onto some themes prevalent in today’s society.

There’s always these conspiracy theories about esoteric businesses and stuff like that, and cults and like evil companies and stuff like that. I thought there would be a tasteful way to fictionalize that type of stuff.”

Kross recalled “a bunch of people” thinking that he’d be perfect in the role, so much so that there was talk about creating a podium an other props. While the idea had support, it didn’t go far enough to get the blessing from two names who would’ve been key.

The only people that I had not gotten a blessing from to do it—because we weren’t that far down the road—would be like Taker and Vince.”

The Corporate Ministry came to an end in 1999, but remains an iconic memory for WWE fans. As for Kross, his growing popularity has led many to predict a bigger role on WWE TV moving forward.

Alexa Bliss was on the May 23, edition of WWE SmackDown, Alexa Bliss confronted Tiffany Stratton, and vowed victory in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Bliss also declared that she would cash in on Stratton in a clear warning to the reigning WWE Women’s Champion.

The pair were confronted by Charlotte Flair, who also had some choice words for Stratton ahead of her Money in the Bank qualifying match. Refusing to back down, Stratton said how the pair were ‘vintage,’ a not-so-subtle jab at both Bliss and Flair being older than Tiffy Time. Stratton also argued that while the duo were the ‘standard’ of women’s wrestling for years in WWE, she is the upgrade.

On X, Bliss bit back at the notion that she is ‘vintage.’ The Goddess argued that whether she’s vintage or not, Stratton is just a “cheap imitation” of her.

Alongside Bliss, fans will get to see Roxanne Perez, Rhea Ripley, and Giulia in action. Chelsea called Zelina a loser, which made the current champion attack the WWE Diva. As the Secret Hervice joined the fight, Michin and B-FAB came out and the whole thing turned into a brawl before the referees broke it up.

Tony Khan: Vince McMahon’s Terrible XFL Relaunch Helped Inspire AEW

0

AEW has been in operation since 2019, giving fans an alternative to WWE and its booking of talent. While speaking to Ilana Golan on Leap Academy, Tony Khan explained how Vince McMahon announcing the return of the XFL in 2018 helped inspire his creation.

“In 2018, the McMahon family announced they were going to relaunch the XFL. That probably also had an effect on my thinking because that sounded like a terrible idea to me.

The amount of money they were going to put into it, when the NFL is such a dominant competitor and the NFL is so strong, and I was proven right because the XFL did go bankrupt, I thought, ‘That’s not going to work.’ You know what would work? A second wrestling league.”

Khan argued that the pool of wrestlers were so big, that building a challenger to WWE would be easier than having the XFL battle the NFL. Khan added that as a fan of wrestling and football, wrestling needed a second league more than football does, and claimed to have been proven right.

The XFL was scrapped in 2020, though it was the COVID-19 pandemic that ultimately doomed McMahon’s second attempt at football. The league was acquired by The Rock that same year and merged with the USFL to create the UFL in November 2023.

Six years on since AEW was announced, the company remains the most direction competition WWE is facing. It reemains to be seen if the company ever becomes number one in wrestling.

Watch: The Wyatt Sicks Make Surprise SmackDown Return On Bray Wyatt’s Birthday

0

The Wyatt Sicks are back.

The group had been missing from WWE TV for months with a reported injury to its leader Uncle Howdy aka Bo Dallas. There had been all sorts of rumors on when the faction will make their return and how the group will look like upon their comeback.

This week’s episode of SmackDown from EnMarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia featured a chaotic main event which saw Fraxiom challenging Street Profits for the Tag Team Championships.

All four men gave everything they had and there wasn’t a dull moment throughout the bout. #DIY came out towards the end of the show but Motor City Machine Guns were quick to counter them, stopping the duo of Tomasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano from interfering.

The Wyatt Sicks Pay Tribute To Bray Wyatt

After a chaotic few minutes, the match seemed to be reaching its conclusion as Angelo Dawkins hit the Spinebuster on Frazer. Dawkins then tagged Montez Ford who went to the top rope to finish the job.

The lights went out at this moment however and The Wyatt Sicks, with all its members, were standing in the ring when it came back on.

Dexter Lumis got Ford off the top with a Frankensteiner, and the group then started beating everyone in sight. Nikki Cross took out Candice LeRae and the show went off air with the group posing in the ring with a cake.

This return holds special significance as May 23 would have been Bray Wyatt’s 38th birthday. We’ll have to see where the group goes from here.

Drew McIntyre Banged Up Ahead of SNME Cage Match

0

Drew McIntyre enters his steel cage match against Damien Priest this Saturday at WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event less than 100% healthy. The 39-year-old former WWE Champion continues his heated rivalry with “The Archer of Infamy” following their encounter at WrestleMania 41.

While McIntyre defeated Priest in their Sin City Street Fight, he’s still recovering from Priest’s brutal post-match attack at Backlash, where the challenger chokeslammed McIntyre’s head through a table. The impact left McIntyre with lingering neck issues that persist ten days later.

“I can’t turn my head all the way left yet,” McIntyre told the Orlando Sentinel. “Working hurt is just what happens if you’re an athlete, especially as the years go by.”

Despite entering a dangerous steel cage match with limited mobility, the Scottish Warrior acknowledges how wrestler safety protocols have evolved over time.

“If you’re injured, it’s something to take care of,” McIntyre explained. “Maybe back in the day, we would have taped it up and gone with it. In the past, I’ve worked with muscle tears and breaks, which isn’t the most sensible thing, but the way we operate now, you want to last for the long run.”

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcasts live from Tampa, Florida on NBC and Peacock at 8 PM ET this Saturday.????????????????

Omos ‘Ready To Dominate’ WWE Again, Patently Awaiting Return Call

0

Omos has declared he is “patiently waiting” for the call to return to company programming and plans to “dominate” upon his return. The superstar hasn’t competed in a WWE ring since participating in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on SmackDown during WrestleMania 40 weekend in April 2024.

Following that appearance, Omos took a detour to Japan, where he notably teamed with Jack Morris to capture the GHC Tag Team Championships in Pro Wrestling NOAH.

During WrestleMania 41 weekend in April 2025, Omos spoke with WhatCulture’s Adam Wilbourn about his current status. When asked about his WWE absence, he stated, “Just waiting. Had fun in Japan and just, patiently waiting.”

Omos expressed a strong desire to resume his WWE career: “I cannot wait to get back in there. I cannot wait to get back in the ring.”

His mission upon returning is clear. “To be honest, man, I’m just ready to dominate. I’m just ready to come out and dominate this ring again, man,” Omos stated. “There’s nothing that brings me more joy than being in the wrestling ring. So whenever that happens, I am just ready and excited to get back in there.”

Absent WWE Stars Spotted In Town For SmackDown

0

Erick Rowan and Dexter Lumis were spotted in Savannah, Georgia, on Friday, the same city where WWE SmackDown is set to air live tonight. However, PWInsider, who confirmed their presence in the city, provided no further details on his visit, and there is currently no indication he will appear on the broadcast or be involved in WWE tapings.

Rowan and Lewis have been part of the Wyatt Sicks faction alongside Bo Dallas (as Uncle Howdy), Joe Gacy, and Nikki Cross. Adding to the intrigue, WWE Creative sources reportedly told PWInsider that the mysterious group may return “sooner than you think.”

The Wyatt Sicks have been off television since a segment in December 2024, following an injury to Dallas, who has since been cleared. WWE has reportedly designated the faction for television-only appearances initially, not booking them for live events yet.

WWE has yet to announce that the group will be appearing on the show nor mentioned them in months after their sudden disappearance from television. Alexa Bliss, who had been rumored to be part of the group, returned to television this month and qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match.
