Adam Copeland And Christian Cage Set To Team First Time Since 2011 After Dynamite Reunion

0

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are back together.

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite from The Andrew Brady Music Center in Cincinnati featured a singles match with Cope in action against Stokely Hathaway.

Hathaway had to be forced into the ring by the security to get the match started and Cope was in control during this short fight. The bout ended in DQ when FTR finally decided to come to their manager’s aid and Stokely threw powder in his opponent’s eyes.

The duo of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood started assaulting the former World Champion after the bell, untill Christian Cage came out to make the save.

Adam Copeland and Christian Reunite

Cage came out with Spike in hand and he got FTR to retreat. Nick Wayne tried to attack Christian from behind with a chair but the former TNT champion managed to get the upper hand using Spike.

Adam Copeland then delivered a spear to Kip Sabian before he turned around to face his Attitude Era tag team partner.

The two were unsure of each other at first but they softened up and Cage gave spike back to Adam. The former TNA star then tried to leave the ring but Copeland pulled him back and hugged him, reuniting the legendary tag team.

After this segment, AEW announced that Christian Cage and Adam Copeland will be teaming up to face Kip Sabian and Nick Wayne at Forbidden Door, for their first match together since 2011.

Shayna Baszler Says She’s Not Ruling Out A Move To AEW

0

Recently released WWE superstar Shayna Baszler has spoken out about her future in professional wrestling, revealing that she is not ruling out a potential move to All Elite Wrestling.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on The Ariel Helwani Show, the former two-time NXT Women’s Champion was asked about the possibility of signing with AEW. She confirmed that discussions have taken place, citing her close friendships with talent in the company, such as fellow MMA Four Horsewoman, Marina Shafir.

“It’s not a secret, I’m really good friends with Marina (Shafir), I have a lot of good friends there,” she said. “So there’s been some discussion as to what the future could hold, for sure.”

Baszler explained that her primary focus is on continuing to wrestle, regardless of the promotion. “I don’t care as much of the letters behind it, I just want to practice my craft. And if I can do that alongside my friends, that’s always a great place to be,” she stated. “So, I’m not going to say a hard no to any of that.”

During the interview, Baszler also addressed recent reports that she had been working as a producer in NXT following her release. She clarified that she was simply at the Performance Center helping friends with submission training and decided to listen in on the producer’s headset, a learning technique that Bryan Danielson had once recommended to her. She confirmed she was not working for the company in an official capacity.

Baszler confirmed in the same interview that she was released by WWE in July, despite having three years remaining on a recently signed contract extension. Her 90-day non-compete clause is expected to expire in October, at which point “The Queen of Spades” will be free to sign with another promotion.

Will Ospreay Returns To AEW, Issues Challenge For Forbidden Door

0

Will Ospreay returns with a big proposal for the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view.

On the August 13 edition of AEW Dynamite, Jon Moxley was able to defeat Kevin Knight in singles action, submitting him with his signature bulldog choke.

After the match, things continued to escalate, as the Death Riders beat down Knight. Darby Allin attempted to make the save, but in the end, Allin found himself with a chair wrapped around his neck in the middle of the ring.

Just moments before the damage was done, Will Ospreay made his return to AEW by chasing off the Death Riders. Ospreay followed up his big moment by making the challenge to Jon Moxley and the Death Riders, inviting them to fight in a Lights Out Steel Cage match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.

WWE Discussing Moving John Cena’s Final Match On Same Date As AEW Event

0

In what would be a move against All Elite Wrestling, WWE is reportedly discussing moving John Cena’s final, historic retirement match to a new date where it would air head-to-head with AEW’s Worlds End pay-per-view in December.

The news was reported by Bryan Alvarez on today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Live. Alvarez stated that while the plan is not yet finalized, the discussion to move the match is actively happening within WWE.

“Originally, the final John Cena match was going to be in early December, Saturday Night’s Main Event,” Alvarez said. “And this is not confirmed, okay, but it does look like there is now discussion that the date will be moved so it will be head-to-head with AEW World’s End”.

This potential move follows the recent report that WWE will run a premium live event on Saturday, September 20, headlined by John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar, which will go directly against AEW’s All Out pay-per-view. Alvarez noted that he had previously heard another head-to-head event was in the works for this year.

John Cena’s retirement match is expected to take place in his hometown of Boston, while AEW’s Worlds End is scheduled for the NOW Arena in Chicago on Saturday, December 27. The decision would be the most direct counter-programming move by either company to date.

AEW World Championship Match Set For Forbidden Door

0

The main event for the upcoming AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view is now official. On tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, it was confirmed that “Hangman” Adam Page will defend the AEW World Championship against his longtime rival, MJF.

The match was made during a tense face-to-face confrontation between the champion and the challenger in the middle of the ring. MJF officially announced that he will be executing the contract he earned for a guaranteed World Title shot at the pay-per-view event in London.

MJF won the contract by winning the Casino Gauntlet match at the All In: Texas pay-per-view on July 12. Since then, he has engaged in a war of words with Page, stating his desire to win the title from him without needing the contract, a challenge Page repeatedly refused.

The championship match is a rematch of their previous encounter at the Revolution pay-per-view in March 2025. The rivalry between the two AEW “pillars” has been one of the central stories in the company for years.

The build to this match has been intensely personal. After defeating Page’s friend, Mark Briscoe, in a controversial finish last week, MJF and Page brawled to close out Dynamite, setting the stage for tonight’s official challenge.

The AEW World Championship match is the latest addition to a stacked card for the AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view. The event will take place on Sunday, August 24, from Wembley Stadium in London, England.

Shayna Baszler Had Years Left On WWE Deal At Release

0

Shayna Baszler has broken her silence on her WWE exit, revealing she still had three years left on a recently signed contract extension when she was released. Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, the former NXT Women’s Champion reflected on the end of her eight-year run with the company.

“I had like three more years.,. I was released. I had, not too long ago, signed an extension. I wish it would have ran out, but I was released… It’s never a good feeling, but it was not unexpected.”

Baszler’s final match for WWE came in April 2025, during which she was part of the Pure Fusion Collective. After Sonya Deville’s contract was not renewed in February, Baszler saw the writing on the wall for the group.

“We were trying to pitch stories and ideas and doing our own stuff on social media and that sort of thing. Nothing was hitting with creativeIt’s a bummer in that moment, but I kind of knew where we were at.”

As she was released, Baszler has had to wait out a 90-day non compete clause which only recently expired. Her situation demonstrates that contracts in WWE do not always guarantee security, with the risk of being released always present.

Baszler wrestled for Shine, Shimmer, Beyond and others prior to WWE, and questions remain as to what’s next for her. Whatever comes, the fighter is hoping for much more than what came at the end of her WWE tenure.

Karrion Kross Seeking WWE Return Despite Frustrating Run

0

Karrion Kross’ time with WWE has come to an end as both his and Scarlett’s contracts expired on August 10. This marks the end of Kross’ second run with the company, but the former NXT Champion is hoping for a third.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Kross began by addressing the rumor that his exit is just a storyline. After making clear that “I’m not working anyone,” Kross addressed a potential return.

“I would prefer to go back home with my wife and let’s give people what they want. Home meaning WWE. Despite the fact it’s been frustrating, I still want to go back.”

Kross spoke of the adage that if one finds a job they love, they’ll never work a day, and said he found that job as a WWE Superstar. For Kross, a return wouldn’t just be big for his career, but allow him to further strengthen bonds he forged in his two previous runs.

“I have so many great core memories of being there, even amongst all that other stuff. It pales in comparison to the relationships and friendships I have, not just with people in the locker room but with the supporting staff.”

As Kross knows firsthand, departing WWE does not always mean the end of a wrestler’s tenure as a Superstar. Instead, many wrestlers, including WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, have gone on to bigger success after previously being released.

Whether Kross will see this success, or even just another shot in WWE, only time will tell. One thing is clear: Karrion Kross is ready to be called a Superstar, even after a frustrating time with the promotion.

Jon Moxley Compares AEW Dynamite In Cincinnati To An Exploding Hot Pocket

0

AEW star and Cincinnati native Jon Moxley has a unique and explosive analogy for the atmosphere fans can expect at this week’s AEW Dynamite and Collision tapings from the Brady Music Center in his hometown.

While speaking with Cincy Lifestyle in a new interview to promote the shows, Moxley was asked about the venue. He compared the intensity of professional wrestling inside the arena to an overcooked Hot Pocket.

“Have you ever taken like a hot pocket and put in the microwave for 3 or 4 minutes? Maybe that was too long… the heat is exploding and there’s just too much pressure and a small box of microwave Hot Pocket explodes everywhere,” Moxley said. “That is basically what’s going to happen in the Brady Center tomorrow night and Thursday night.”

Moxley described how the venue “transforms… into a gladiatorial arena” for wrestling, creating a “very, very intense atmosphere.” He also spoke about the pride he takes in performing in his hometown and his promise to always bring something extra for the Cincinnati fans.

“For that to be here in Cincinnati, my hometown, which I’m very proud of, I’m very excited about,” he said. “I always make sure that we bring a little bit extra and a little bit of extra oomph and a little bit of extra momentum into Cincinnati when we come here because I take personal pride in that.”

Moxley is scheduled to be in action on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, where he will go one-on-one with Kevin Knight of JetSpeed.

Brock Lesnar Advertised For Two SmackDown Episodes

0

Brock Lesnar’s next WWE appearances have seemingly been revealed.

The Beast Incarnate made his controversial return to the company at SummerSlam earlier this month, attacking John Cena after his main event match against Cody Rhodes. Triple H even suggested that Lesnar was brought back on Cena’s request, even though the Cenation Leader has since spoken against the idea.

This is why a lot of people were surprised when he didn’t appear on the following Raw or SmackDown to build out the teased match with the Hollywood star.

Though now Brock’s next WWE appearance has seemingly been confirmed. The former world champion is now being advertised for the September 12 episode of SmackDown from Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia and the September 19 episode of the show from The Huntington Arena in Toledo, OH.

Reports suggest that WWE is planning John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar to be the main event of their unannounced PPV set for September 20, that will go head-to-head with AEW All Out.

The advertised dates fall in line with this plan as the former UFC star will have to be present to build his match with the 17-time world champion.

John Cena has 11 appearances left as an active superstar. The company will have very few dates left to build his retirement match after the bout with Lesnar, which will likely not be at a PPV. You can check out more about it here.

Melina Calls WWE Evolution The “Women’s WrestleMania”

0

Former WWE Women’s Champion Melina has reflected on her experience attending last month’s all-women’s premium live event, WWE Evolution 2. In a new interview, she called the show the “women’s WrestleMania” and expressed her strong hope that it becomes an annual tradition for the company.

Speaking to SoCalVal for WrestlingNews.Co, Melina described the atmosphere backstage at the July 13 event, where she was one of several legends in attendance.

“It just felt beautiful going up to everybody, reunions everywhere, and then meeting new faces and faces that I’ve seen on TV and never really talked to,” Melina said. “I’m surprised I didn’t cry the entire day, but I held it in.”

The former champion was adamant that the event should not be a one-off, but rather a yearly staple on the WWE calendar that celebrates the women’s division.

“It’s a shame that it’s the second… the first was a long time ago, and now it’s a beautiful thing to finally see Evolution 2,” she stated. “I hope on everything, there needs to be an annual one. This is the women’s WrestleMania. It should be treated as such.”

Melina also had high praise for the current roster of female superstars who competed on the show. “They contributed to such an amazing show, and it wouldn’t be anything if it wasn’t for them… They made this show happen, and I hope they take so much pride in this.”

WWE Referee Charles Robinson Bitten By A Bat, Rushed To Hospital

0

Veteran WWE referee Charles Robinson had a frightening and bizarre start to his Wednesday morning, revealing on social media that he was rushed to the emergency room after being bitten by a bat.

In a post on his Instagram account, the senior official, known to fans as “Lil’ Naitch,” shared the wild story. He explained that the incident happened in the middle of the night and required immediate medical attention.

“Great way to start the morning. 2:00am and got bit by a bat. That’s right a bat! 4 hours later in the ER and six shots,” Robinson wrote, adding the hashtags #animalattacks and #hospital.

This real-life incident is the latest in what has been an eventful and physically taxing year for the respected referee. In addition to recently having to debunk a malicious death hoax on social media, Robinson has also been part of the action in the ring.

He was accidentally shoulder-tackled by John Cena at the WWE Night of Champions event and later suffered a rib injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event after being speared by Goldberg in the legend’s retirement match.

Torrie Wilson Says She Has ‘One More Match’ In Her

0

WWE Hall of Famer Torrie Wilson has opened up about a potential return to the ring for one final match. In a new interview, the popular star from the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras stated that the “door is never completely closed” on her in-ring career.

While speaking with SHAK Wrestling, Wilson was asked if she would ever consider coming out of retirement for another match. She confirmed that she believes she still has one more performance left in her if the right situation were to present itself.

“Well, I feel like if you’ve ever been in wrestling, the door is never completely closed,” Wilson said. “Um, but people ask me a lot like, ‘Do you have another match in you?’ And I’m like, ‘Yes, of course.’ Like, if something awesome came along, how would I not have that in me?”

Wilson, who officially retired from full-time competition in 2008, made it clear that she would have a very high standard for herself if she were to return. She stated that it would require a lot of preparation as she would want to deliver a performance that would make fans and herself proud.

“I wouldn’t want to go back and do something that didn’t make people go, ‘Oh, wow. She is an athlete, right?’” she explained. “Um, so I would want to, I guess, make myself proud.”

Since her retirement, Wilson has made several sporadic appearances for WWE. Her last official match took place in the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Samoa Joe Reveals Injury During Twisted Metal S2 Shooting

0

Samoa Joe has revealed details of a recent injury he suffered.

The former AEW Champion was written off TV with an injury angle at the All In: Texas PPV last month. This was done so he could take time off to promote the second season of Twisted Metal, where he plays the character of Sweet Tooth.

Joe spoke to PWInsider recently to promote the season now streaming on Peacock. During the interview, the Samoan Submission Machine revealed that he actually suffered an injury on the set, fracturing his ankle during a spot:

“Halfway through the season, I fractured my ankle. Nothing crazy — we had done a series of pretty crazy driving stunts and some dangerous things here and there.

Then it was just parking, and I had to hop out the back on some really rocky, busted-up asphalt. I turned my ankle and spent the rest of the season taping it up and limping through it.”

Samoa Joe discussed how Twisted Metal is an incredible physical series that includes many fighting scenes. Though the wrestling veteran noted that it’s not a new territory for him because of all the time he has spent in the ring.

The former TNA star also provided an update on his wrestling return. He claimed that the injury will not keep him out of action for long. He’ll be back to business as soon as he’s done clearing various medical protocols.

Bret Hart Reveals Unexpected Opinion On Jelly Roll’s SummerSlam Performance

0

Bret Hart has revealed his take on celebrity wrestlers.

The wrestling legend recently had an interview with The Rap On Wrestling Podcast. He talked about things such as Cody Rhodes potentially turning heel, which is the biggest match of the year in his opinion and more.

When asked about his take on celebrity wrestlers, Bret Hart, who is generally hard on talents, said that he actually likes the involvement of celebrities. He gave the example of Lawrence Taylor facing Bam Bam Bigelow at WrestleMania 11 as someone who did a good job despite not being from the pro wrestling world:

“I actually like it. I like- I’m more, it’s hard for me to sing the praises of a lot of people today but like I remember when LT, like Lawrence Taylor, when he wrestled Bam Bam at one of the WrestleMania’s a long time ago. But I always thought he did such a great job for a guy that wasn’t a wrestler.”

If You Got The Guts: Bret Hart

Bret Hart continued by saying that Taylor could have hung up his football cleats and become a full-time wrestler if he wanted to, because he was a natural fit for it. The Hitman also brought up Jelly Roll’s recent SummerSlam performance and said that you should go for it if you have the guts:

“So I would say.. if you got the guts and you think you can do it and you can do it well, like Jelly Roll, you know, I think go for it. Live your dreams.”

The singing star teamed up with Randy Orton to face Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul at SummerSlam. After the PPV, Triple H suggested that it wasn’t the last of Jelly Roll we’ll see in WWE. You can check out what he said here.

Longtime AEW Talent Signs New 5-Year Deal

0

AEW has re-signed a longtime talent.

Fightful Select recently provided a backstage update on Tony Khan’s promotion and revealed that the company has retained “Daddy Magic” Matt Menard.

The 41-year-old’s previous contract with the company was originally set to expire around the All In: Texas event last month before the company extended his deal.

The new contract is five years in length, meaning that it’ll keep Menard with the company at least until 2030. The AEW star was said to be ‘ecstatic’ to stay with the promotion.

Matt Menard made his debut for the company with his longtime tag team partner, Angelo Parker, back in August 2021. Known together as 2.0, they were featured regularly during the early years, competing against names such as Jon Moxley, Darby Allin, and Sting.

The duo joined the Jericho Appreciation Society in early 2022. They remained part of the group until July 2023, when 2.0 and Daniel Garcia branched off as their own group.

Though Menard has reduced his wrestling role in the company since then, only having four matches in 2025 so far. He’s been doing commentary for the promotion for the last two years instead.

Matt is not the only longtime AEW talent who has taken on other responsibilities. Recent report revealed that an AEW original is now working with the company behind the scenes. You can check out more about it here.

Brian Knobbs At Risk Of Amputation Over Health Issues

0

‘Nasty Boy’ Brian Knobbs is at risk of losing his leg due to his ongoing health issues, the former wrestler has revealed. In a new video, Knobbs shared that his foot is infected again and “now they’re talking about amputation.” Knobs has battled health issues for years including being rushed to hospital in early 2025 due to critically-low blood levels. Knobs was able to make a recovery but only after having an emergency blood transfusion.

In his video, Knobbs asked fans for their support and has launched a GoFundMe. Over $31,000 has already been raised which will go towards his medical bills and “restarting Brian’s recovery and long-term plan.” Money will also go to his wife Toni who recently suffered a compound fracture to her ankle after falling in their hotel room.

Knobbs’ fears of amputation come mere weeks after WCW alum Buff Bagwell had one of his legs amputated due to health concerns. Like Knobbs, Bagwell had been dealing with health issues for years. After a 2020 car accident, Bagwell endured more than 30 surgeries in an attempt to save his leg, ultimately to no avail.

Knobbs’ story is sadly shared by many older wrestlers who continue to face health issues after life in the ring. We would like to send our very best wishes to Knobbs and his family at this time.

Jon Moxley Promises Pain After AEW World Title Loss

0

AEW AllI In: Texas marked the end of Jon Moxley’s stranglehold on the AEW World Championship as his reign was ended by ‘Hangman’ Adam Page. After a lengthy reign that saw Moxley and the Death Riders wreak havoc over AEW, fans are interested to see what’s next for the former champion.

Speaking to Cincy Lifestyle ahead of AEW Dynamite and Collision coming to his hometown, Moxley was asked what’s next. Though he didn’t give away specifics beyond his next match, Moxley was ready to dish out the hurt.

“On Wednesday, I’ll be facing a young athlete by the name of Kevin Knight. Very promising, young potential future star. Potential being the operative word there. It’s not so much the fall or the throw. Or the the traveling through the air that’s going to hurt him. It’s the abrupt stop. When he hits the mat.”

Moxley is excited to return to Cincinnatti for the show, where he is expected to get a warm response despite being a heel. For Moxley, there’s nothing better than having a live crowd invested in your work.

“I mean you need to see this in person. Very very very addictive thing. Once you once you get a taste of it you’re going to want to come back every single time.”

Moxley is just part of a stacked card for tonight’s Dynamite as AEW continues on the journey towards its Forbidden Door event. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Moxley’s role in AEW.

Mark Henry: I Can’t Defend Hulk Hogan After Racial Remarks

0

Hulk Hogan’s legacy in wrestling was forever tainted when racist comments came to light in 2015, prompting a swift firing from WWE. While Hogan was rehired three years later, many never moved past from his racist comments, resulting in mixed responses at events for the rest of his life.

Much has been said about Hogan’s comments by fans and those within the industry. Speaking on TMZ’s The Real Hulk Hogan documentary, Mark Henry made clear why he couldn’t back his fellow Hall of Famer.

“He said, in his words, that he was a racist. Why would I sit here and try to defend somebody that tells you who they were?”

Hogan’s words “hurt” Henry who in the video shared that he “used to love that dude” and “wanted to be like” Hogan for much of his life. After the racist remarks came to light, Henry, who was with WWE at the time, shared with Vince McMahon how Hogan could make amends.

“I told Vince McMahon, if y’all want this to go away, I know how to fix it. We should do a black college tour at Morehouse and Prairie View and hit the circuit.”

McMahon rejected the idea, telling Henry “I’ve been advised not to talk about it no more.” McMahon also appears in the doc, in which he argues that Hogan was not a racist, despite his comments. In the infamous video, Hogan said that “I am a racist, to a point” before using a slur about black people.

While fans have honored Hogan since his passing, the hurt his words caused continue to be felt. For Mark Henry and many more, the idea that people should ignore what Hogan said because he has died is simply not possible.

Adriana Rizzo Tells All On How Torn ACL Happened

0

WWE NXT’s Adriana Rizzo recently shared that she is out of action after suffering a torn ACL and meniscus. For Rizzo, this is her latest injury setback, a fact not lost on the young NXT Superstar who told fans “here we go again.”

Taking to social media, Rizzo shared details about how this latest injury occurred. Rizzo, who is best known for her time as part of The D’Angelo Family, explained that this setback happened in training, not during a match.

“I was at practice, I was doing a drill, I’m running over to the corner and boom—my knee just, you know, bada bing, bada boom, explodes. I fall over. I lay on the floor for like four minutes because I knew. I knew my knee exploded and I was like, ‘Well, s***. There it goes.”

Rizzo suffered a partial tear a year and a half ago, but chose to work through the injury rather than have surgery. In her video, Rizzo made clear why she doesn’t regret holding out.

I’m gonna get surgery when the whole kabang goes. I’m gonna go as long as I can until that happens. Yes, I knew it was a possibility. Yes, I made the decision. Yes, I’m still happy about my decision.”

Now, the whole ‘kabang’ has gone and Rizzo will need time off to have her surgery. Nevertheless, the young Superstar remains confident that her return to the ring will show fans that she’s better than ever.

We All Make Mistakes: Vince McMahon Defends Hulk Hogan’s 2018 WWE Return After Racial Remarks

0

Nearly a decade after Hulk Hogan’s racist comments scandal rocked WWE, Vince McMahon has broken his silence with his most candid assessment yet of the controversy that severed ties with wrestling’s biggest star.

In a revealing TMZ special that aired Tuesday night on Fox, McMahon opened up about the 2015 incident that led to Hogan’s immediate removal from WWE programming and the Hall of Fame. The wrestling mogul’s comments reveal the deep personal conflict he experienced between his decades-long relationship with Hogan and the corporate responsibility to address the scandal.

“It was unforgivable. And I was aghast. ‘What happened?’ And when those things occurred.. ‘that’s not like him. What in God’s name is going on?'” McMahon told TMZ’s Harvey Levin, describing his initial reaction to learning about Hogan’s recorded racial slurs.

The revelation prompted swift corporate action from WWE, despite McMahon’s personal feelings about the wrestling icon he had worked with for decades. “As soon as it happened, I was made that company didn’t have anything to do with me anymore. We even took them out of the Hall of Fame,” McMahon explained, detailing the immediate severing of ties.

However, McMahon’s most striking comments came when he defended Hogan’s character while condemning his words. “I knew he wasn’t a racist. I’ve been with him for so many years. He wasn’t racist. He said some racist things and he should pay for that and he did. But in the end, I think that everyone saw the real Hulk Hogan and Terry Bolea and they felt, ‘wait a minute, this guy, he doesn’t act like a racist. He’s not a racist. We all make mistakes.’ That was a big one. But he wasn’t a racist.”

This nuanced stance highlights the complex challenge facing entertainment companies when personal scandals involve their biggest stars. McMahon’s comments suggest a distinction between momentary actions and fundamental character, though he acknowledged the severity of Hogan’s words.

The interview provides rare insight into WWE’s crisis management during one of its most sensitive controversies, revealing how quickly the company moved to distance itself despite the personal relationships involved. McMahon’s willingness to publicly defend Hogan’s character while maintaining the comments were “unforgivable” demonstrates the ongoing tension between personal loyalty and corporate accountability.

Vince McMahon Reveals Immediate Reaction To Hulk Hogan’s Passing

0

Vince McMahon has revealed how he reacted to news of Hulk Hogan’s passing.

The former WWE chairman was one of the personalities interviewed for ‘The Real Hulk Hogan’ TMZ documentary that aired today. McMahon talked about his relationship with the late wrestling veteran at length.

When asked about his reaction to the news of Hogan passing away at the age of 71 on July 24 last month, Vince McMahon said that he was shocked.

The former wrestling promoter explained that you never think about a family member or close friend passing away and mentioned how Hulk Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, had overcome serious health issues before:

“Shock. You just don’t think about someone, a family member or someone that close to you, you don’t think about them passing away. Terry had kicked out, so to speak, of so many surgeries.

He had to get like 20 surgeries on his back, plus others on his knees and hip or something. He overcame all that. It was a tremendous shot. It was a blow to my heart.”

Vince McMahon also talked about his relationship with the WWE Hall of Famer in detail. He said Hogan and he were brothers ‘to a certain extent.’ While they would get into verbal scrap sometimes, it always turned out to be for the best.

The former owner of WWE was the one who closed the documentary saying “One thing he said in character, which is ‘Hulkamania will live forever.’ Indeed, it is.”

TNA Title Match Added To NXT Heatwave

0

A TNA title match has been made official for NXT Heatwave.

The last few weeks have seen the TNA Knockouts Champion Jacy Jayne defending her title against Masha Slamovich and Ash by Elegance in singles matches. Both the contenders, however, interfered in each other’s bouts, causing the DQ.

It was then announced on this week’s episode of the development brand that Jayne will be defending her title against both the challengers at the upcoming NXT PLE.

The promotion also confirmed a triple threat between Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan, and Jaida Parker for the upcoming PPV to determine the next challenger for the NXT Women’s title. The match was announced on social media after NXT went off air.

NXT Heatwave Updated Match Card

NXT Heatwave will be taking place on August 24, 2025, from the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts. It’ll be competing with AEW Forbidden Door PPV set for the same day. You can check out the updated card for the show below:

Vince McMahon Reacts to Hulk Hogan Being Booed in Final WWE Appearance

0

Hulk Hogan’s final WWE appearance came at Raw’s debut of Netflix in January 2025, where the wrestling icon was heavily booed. The segment, which saw Hogan try and promote his Real American Beer, would quickly go viral, albeit not for the reasons the Hulkster, or WWE, had hoped.

Few names knew Hogan better than Vince McMahon who made a rare public appearance in TMZ’s new ‘The Real Hulk Hogan’ documentary. Speaking about his friend, McMahon made his views on Hogan’s influence in the wrestling world crystal clear.

“He was a pioneer. There was no-one like him.”

Though Raw’s debut on Netflix came close to a year after McMahon’s second resignation from WWE, the former Chairman kept a close eye on the show. Watching Hogan be booed, McMahon was angry for the man who meant much to him, both professionally and personally.

“I was angry. He deserved much more [than that treatment.]”

Wrestling fans have had a much kinder response to Hogan since his passing in July 2025 of a heart attack. At WWE’s tributes to Hogan at events, fans refrained from booing, instead either cheering the late wrestler or sharing in a somber silence.

These wildly different responses highlight Hogan’s complicated legacy in wrestling, as both a source of admiration and derision. For McMahon, the idea of what response Hogan should’ve gotten has never been in question, making the response he received in January infuriating.

Stu Grayson Wins Longest Wrestling Match, Raises $33,000 For Charity

The match in question lasted a staggering 21 hours, 49 minutes and 12 seconds before Grayson picked up the win. Other competitors included Junior Benito, Dante Dubois, Gabriel Floyd, HADDY, Jeff Fury, Joe Jobber, Katrina Creed, KJ Swayde, Alvin Turner, Cecil Nyx, Dreya Mitchell, Jason Exile, Mathis Myre, Top Dog, and Xander Orion.

The match was part of a livestream hosted by Mystery Wrestling who wished to raise funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. During the match, over $33,000 CAD ($23,994 USD) was raised to help those fighting cancer and to go towards research for a cure. Donations can still be made.

The previous record was held by Ehime Pro Wrestling who held a match for 21 hours, 44 minutes and 34 seconds. With those five extra minutes, Grayson and those in his match have broken new ground in the history of lengthy wrestling.

Grayson is best known for his time in AEW, where he had two tenures before leaving for the second time in April 2024. While it’s unclear what’s next for the Canadian, Grayson and those in the match have earned themselves a long rest after such a punishing, and rewarding, contest.

Zilla Fatu: I’m Not Ready For WWE & The Bloodline

Many expect Zilla Fatu to land a role in WWE one day, especially as more members of his family make it to programming. While a spot in The Bloodline seems destined for the son of Umaga, Zilla isn’t leaping at the opportunity just yet.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Fatu said his ultimate goal is to work alongside his family in WWE, but he has yet to receive a tryout. Though there was a time when he thought he was ready for The Bloodline, he now sees he needs time to grow.

“No. I thought I was [ready for The Bloodline,] but no. I still have more time to grow. I’m still green, so I’ve got a long way to go, man.”

While Fatu is re-evaluating his standing in wrestling, his dreams of making it to WWE have never wavered. For Zilla, who has the backing of WWE staple Booker T, the Sports Entertainment giant remains the plan.

“Yes, the goal is to join my family in WWE — I would love to… I’ve literally just been training, man, just being patient. I’m not in any rush.”

Though not part of WWE, Fatu has already caught the attention of the WWE Universe. When Fatu was spotted at SummerSlam 2024, many predicted he would be involved in the show. While that ultimately didn’t happen, this speculation shows he’s already on the radar of many fans.

Whether Zilla Fatu is known as a WWE Superstar one day, time will tell. One thing is clear though: He won’t rush his journey in the ring.
