More on WWE’s Acquisition of AAA: Expected Closing in Q3 2025

0

WWE issued a press release on Monday morning regarding the acquisition of AAA (Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide), marking a historic expansion into the Latin American wrestling market.

The most newsworthy information is that the acquisition, executed in partnership with Mexico-based sports and entertainment holding company Fillip, is expected to close in Q3 2025, pending “customary closing conditions.”

The news was initially revealed during the WrestleMania 41 Saturday Countdown show, with WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque joined by Fillip Chairman Alberto Fasja, AAA’s Marisela Peña and Dorian Roldán Peña, as well as WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and AAA standout El Hijo Del Vikingo.

As part of the announcement, WWE also revealed a new crossover event: Worlds Collide, scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The show will feature top stars from both WWE and AAA, with a start time of 12 PM PT.

“AAA has a rich cultural heritage with some of the most passionate fans in the world,” said Triple H. “It’s an honor to work with the Peña family. By bringing together WWE’s global capabilities and AAA’s amazing tradition, we look forward to an exciting future filled with new opportunities.”

Founded in 1992 by legendary promoter Antonio Peña, AAA has long served as a launching pad for lucha legends like Eddie Guerrero, Penta, and Rey Mysterio. The promotion has remained a family-run business for over 30 years, a legacy that will continue with the Peña family playing an active role in its next chapter under WWE and Fillip’s stewardship.

“AAA has been a family-operated promotion for over three decades,” said Dorian Roldán Peña, AAA General Manager. “Our trust could not be better placed than with one of the biggest sports entertainment businesses in the world.”

The acquisition underscores WWE’s global localization strategy, following similar partnerships with TNA and Pro Wrestling NOAH. It also signals a growing focus on expanding the WWE brand into Latin America.

“We look forward to partnering with WWE and TKO on this venture to secure the future of AAA,” added Hugo López-Velarde, Fillip Co-Founder and Co-CEO.

Rey Mysterio Gets Honest About Dominik’s Recent Success

0

Rey Mysterio is a proud father.

Nobody could have predicted the career trajectory of Dominik Mysterio when he first made his WWE debut in 2020. In less than 5 years since then, Prison Dom has become one of the most intriguing characters in all of sports entertainment and one of the biggest stars of his generation.

The WWE Hall of Famer was not shy about recognizing his son’s success in an out-of-character interview with Denise Salcedo. Rey said that he’s incredibly proud of his son for everything he has achieved:

“As a father, there’s a tremendous sense of pride, not only from my end, but I speak for my wife as well because she did a lot of the raising at home. It’s just incredible to be able to see the growth of your son just rising to the success that he has been over the past four years in such a short amount of time.”

The interview was conducted over the WrestleMania weekend, before Dominik Mysterio challenged for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41 night 2. So Rey mentioned that the 28-year-old will have the opportunity to prove himself during the title match.

He then talked about how Dominik has carved a unique identity for himself that’s very different from anything the Master of 619 has done in his own career. Rey Mysterio suggested that Dirty Dom has outgrown the Mysterio name with his incredible character work:

“Now he just has to show the whole world that he can accomplish that, on his own. We’ve seen what he can do on his own. He’s done incredible. He’s definitely branched out. He is his own identity now.

He is not connected to Mysterio but the name, that’s it. He’s done his own work. He’s grinded on his own. So yes, I’m really enjoying his work and I’ve become a fan sincerely,”

Dominik Mysterio went on to win the IC title at WrestleMania 41, completing his face turn. Though he stole the win from Judgement Day partner Finn Balor at the last second. It’d be interesting to see how the former Universal Champion reacts to his teammates win on Raw tonight.

WWE Reportedly Considering ‘NXT Mexico’ Rebrand for Newly Acquired AAA

0

Just prior to WrestleMania 41 this past weekend, wrestling fans were shocked to learn that WWE has acquired AAA (Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide). While the AAA brand has been a leading name in Mexican Lucha Libre since the 1990’s, the brand may be due for a significant overhaul in the near future. In an effort to further strengthen the company’s proprietary IP, WWE is reportedly considering rebranding AAA as WWE NXT Mexico (via Cultaholic).

WWE Superstars who have competed for AAA over the years include Rey Mysterio, Andrade, Penta and Rey Fenix, Dragon Lee and Stephanie Vaquer. Most of them have held championship gold, adding an interesting layer of depth to this alliance.

WWE’s Global Expansion

WWE’s acquisition of AAA was a closely-guarded secret that was largely kept under wraps, but the company has been talking about expansion into Mexico for quite some time. In a media call following NXT Halloween Havoc 2022, Shawn Michaels shared that had been talks of NXT Mexico as well as NXT Japan. Michaels shared that as head of NXT, “We are constantly trying to grow and expand,” teasing international movements.

The first big event that will integrate AAA into the WWE machine will take place on Saturday June 7, when WWE presents WWE NXT x AAA: Worlds Collide from Inglewood, California at the Kia Forum.

Worlds Collide will be part of a double-header day of action from WWE. Later that evening, WWE presents Money in the Bank 2025 just a few miles away from the Intuit Dome.

CM Punk Reacts to Paul Heyman’s WrestleMania 41 Betrayal

0
  • CM Punk reflects on his long history with Paul Heyman, expressing disappointment and promising to speak further on Monday Night Raw.
  • Despite their shared past, Punk made it clear that Heyman’s actions have consequences—and he knows what’s coming.

WrestleMania Saturday ended with one of the most unexpected moments in recent WWE history. Paul Heyman turned on both Roman Reigns and CM Punk, two of his closest friends, aligning himself with Seth Rollins. Now, CM Punk has addressed the betrayal in his first public comments since the event.

Speaking with Daniel Cormier on ESPN, Punk shared his emotional response to Heyman’s actions, hinting that more will unfold on Monday Night Raw.

“I got a lot of thoughts, a lot of feelings—and you best believe I’m going to make everybody tune in to Monday Night Raw on Netflix to find out exactly if I have anything to say,” Punk said. “When I’m gonna say it, it’s going to be tomorrow night.”

Punk reflected on his long-standing relationship with Heyman, describing it as one rooted in trust and shared history. He recalled a previous incident where Heyman threw a ladder at his head, resulting in 13 staples—a moment that reminded him just how far Heyman is willing to go.

Despite past issues, Punk said he chose to trust Heyman again because of the significance of main-eventing WrestleMania. He wanted to share that moment with someone he believed had always supported him.

“To me, main eventing WrestleMania was important,” Punk explained. “I needed to share it with somebody who got me there. Somebody who never gave up on me. But now—he’s turned on me.”

While Heyman’s allegiance now lies with Seth Rollins, Punk made it clear this story is far from over. As tensions rise, all eyes are on Monday Night Raw to see how Punk will respond to the betrayal.

Triple H Discusses Dominik Mysterio Face Turn At WrestleMania 41

0

Triple H says he is thrilled with Dominik Mysterio’s success.

The boos for Prison Dom had slowly been turning into cheers in recent months. The young veteran finally completed his face turn at WrestleMania 41 where he received one of the biggest pops of the night, winning the Intercontinental Title. Dom defeated Finn Balor, Penta, and Bron Breakker in a fatal four-way for the win.

The WWE CCO talked about this match during the post-WrestleMania press conference. He first praised Bron Breakker, saying that he’s the future of the business. Triple H then talked about Dominik Mysterio’s journey since his debut and offered him a lot of praise:

“Dominik Mysterio, you know, if you would have told people a few years ago when Dominik was standing next to his dad, walking in the door or Roman was throwing him across the arena during the pandemic, that this kid will be on fire for the next few years, I don’t think very many people would have believed it.

If you said to them that he’ll be one of the most hated heels in the business and then at WrestleMania somehow that will flip and everybody will love the fact that he wins the Intercontinental title, I think people might have told you, you were hanging out with Travis Scott too long. That it would never happen. And here we are.

That’s a testament to Dominik. How good he is. How good he is at what he does. How good he is. He’s a sponge. So great to work with and I’m so happy for him and proud of him. He’s done everything. He’s an incredibly hard worker and I’m thrilled for his success.”

Triple H also said that Finn continues to be a constant in this business. He claimed Penta is already a star, and the future is very bright for him.

While Mysterio picked up the biggest victory of his career, he also seems to have lost a friend during the bout. Dom had multiple exchanges with Judgement Day partner Finn Balor during the match and he stole the victory from Balor in the end. So it’s likely that we’ll see the group imploding this Monday on Raw.

Logan Paul Responds To Complaints About His Schedule After WrestleMania 41 Victory

0

Logan Paul says the fault for his part-time schedule lies with WWE.

The ever-controversial social media star picked up another big victory at WrestleMania 41 by defeating AJ Styles. The ending of the bout saw Karrion Kross taking away the brass knuckles from one of Logan’s goons.

Kross then offered the weapon to Styles but the Phenomenal One refused, leading to Paul’s victory. This was the third WrestleMania victory for Logan in his four years of competing at the Show of Shows.

The YouTube star appeared on the post-WrestleMania press conference after his win. He was asked about people criticising him for not always being around, and Logan Paul claimed that it’s up to Triple H and the company when to use him:

“Yo, I’m available. I’m here. I signed up to be a WWE superstar. When Triple H calls me, I answer the call. And whoever he wants to put against me goes from a professional wrestler to victim. It’s been that way for the past year. I’m in my fourth year of wrestling in the WWE – as an outsider, by the way – and I’m 3-1.

The person who I lost to was Seth Rollins, who’s one of the best in the business. I put on five-star matches every single time, and whoever they want to put me against, I’ll rise to the challenge. Not only rise to the challenge, I’ll become the challenge.”

Logan Paul also discussed the announcement of WWE’s return to Australia, scheduled for October this year, and hinted that he’ll be at the show.

Apart from this, the WWE star revealed the match that made him feel like he belonged to WWE. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

Logan Paul Reveals The Moment He Realized He Belonged In WWE

0

Logan Paul has revealed the moment he realized he was born to be a WWE star.

The YouTube sensation picked up yet another huge victory at WrestleMania 41 defeating AJ Styles. This came after Styles refused to use Paul’s brass knuckles offered to him by Karrion Kross.

Logan took part in the post-WrestleMania press conference celebrating his win. When asked about the moment he knew he belonged in WWE, Paul recalled his Crown Jewel 2022 match with Roman Reigns:

“Look man, I’ll be honest with you. My third match in the WWE. I get a call from Triple H. He says ‘Logan, I want you to wrestle Roman Reigns, to headline Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.’ My third match ever. Of course, being me, I accepted the challenge. I was excited to get in there with, who is in my opinion, the GOAT. And I did.

Halfway through the match, I tore my MCL. Halfway through the match. Okay? There’s still 50% to go. And I knew that. I knew that this was going to be one of the hardest things to do in my life. Guess what I did? I did it. I completed the match and gave the audience a five-star match.”

I Was Destined For This: Logan Paul

The former US Champion said that looking back at his performance after the match, he realized that he was destined to be a pro wrestler. Logan Paul also named all the veterans he has beaten till now, saying that it proves that he belongs in the business:

“After that, when I was sitting in the medic room with a torn MCL and looking back at the highlights, seeing the reviews of the match. Even to this day when I look back at it and I see how great that was and how in my third match ever I hung in there with the greatest wrestler of all time. I knew I was destined for this. I was absolutely destined to be the best wrestler in the WWE.

Man everyone can call me a part-timer or whatever they want but my work speaks for itself. I beat a legend, AJ Styles tonight. Added him to the list. Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, Rey Mysterio, line anyone up. Y’all can act like I’m not who I am but I absolutely am. My pace is unmatched and my speed and athletics are unprecedented in this business. So I think my body of work speaks for itself and I continue to prove everyone who doesn’t believe in me wrong.”

Details On What Happened At ‘The Roast of WrestleMania’

0

For the first-time ever, WWE held a Roast of WrestleMania following this year’s two-night event in Las Vegas, Nevada. While WWE did not air the event which will likely never see the light of day, details have come out about what transpired at the roast.

The Roast of WrestleMania was described as “awesome” by WrestlingNews, who added that Paul heyman was “incredible.” Sami Zayn “killed it” while the source added that R-Truth needed to be brought back if WWE does another roast. Despite being booed at WrestleMania 41, show host Tony Hinchcliffe had “everyone rolling” in his role.

Nia Jax was “good” while Braun Strowman was “nuts” at the roast. While The Miz seemed “nervous” he did well, as did Gabriel ‘Fluffy’ Iglesias though he was “too nice” for such an event. Pat McAfee was believed to be high while Triple H served as a great closer for the show.

The show consisted of two hours of jokes, including some sexual puns, WrestleVotes adds. Paul Heyman “stole the show” while Triple H’s role was described as a “surprise appearance.” Linda McMahon was in attendance. Like WrestlingNews, WrestleVotes argued that what was said to see this roast ever make it to air.

One fan who attended said that “everybody was great” with the exception of Pat McAfee, who “spoke for three minutes with zero jokes.” Another fan shared that one of Paul Heyman’s jokes included saying he had WrestleMania by the balls this year, both figuratively an literally.

According to several in attendance, phones were placed in pouches, ensuring that nobody would be recording the event to spread online. And unless WWE loosens up, don’t expect this unique night of entertainment to be broadcast.

Inspiration Behind WWE WrestleMania 41 Attires Revealed

0

The Superstars of WWE were dressed to impress as part of this year’s WrestleMania 41 Premium Live Event. Here are some of the hidden meanings and inspiration behind the attires from the event.

Damian Priest Takes Drew McIntyre to Hell

Damian Priest wore an attire inspired by Pinhead, the iconic lead of the Hellraiser movie franchise. This nod was noticed by Dead Meat, a hit YouTube series that’s worked with several WWE Superstars.

Rhea Ripley is The Batman who Laughs

Rhea Ripley kicked off WresttleMania 41: Sunday by challenging for the Women’s World Championship. Fans of DC Comics will have noticed Ripley taking inspiration by the Batman who Laughs, a twisted take on the Caped Crusader.

Randy Orton Goes Old School

Randy Orton’s blue and yellow attire may seem odd to fans who have only seen him wear in darker colors. Older fans will recognize that this attire was based on the gear Orton wore for his 2002 main roster debut.

The New Day have a ‘Giant’ inspiration

With painted on muscles and far shoulders and cuffs, fans instantly recognized that The New Day’s attire as a nod to Giant Gonzalez.

Liv Morgan’s Rodriguez Reference

Liv Morgan may have lost the WWE Women’s Tag Titles at WrestleMania but she looked good doing so. Morgan’s attire was a nod to singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo.

The War Raiders Were Ready to Clash

Erik and Ivar wore attires inspired by characters from Clash of Clans. WWE is partnering with the massively popular mobile video game to bring some Superstars to the virtual world.

Triple H Reveals Backstage Conversation With Travis Scott After WrestleMania 41 Appearance

0

Triple H has revealed what Travis Scott told him after his WrestleMania 41 appearance.

The music star came out during the main event match between Cody Rhodes and John Cena tonight. He helped Cena by distracting Cody and pulling the referee out when Rhodes went for the pin. As a result, Scott ended up eating a Cross Rhodes at the hands of the American Nightmare.

The Game talked about his involvement in tonight’s show during the post-WrestleMania 41 press conference. Triple H compared Travis to Bad Bunny saying that he’s incredibly passionate for the business. He then revealed a backstage interaction with Scott after the main event:

“He walked backstage tonight after he was done and was like, ‘Dude, I gotta be serious, this is like my full-time job now, I’m telling you.’ Two minutes later I said, ‘See you at work tomorrow.’ He loves it. If he’s out there having fun and you feel it and it’s good, it’s amazing.”

The Most Respectful Guy: Triple H

Triple H said that having someone like Travis Scott, who is open to everything, is great. He also claimed that the Grammy nominated artist is very respectful to everyone backstage:

“This guy is the biggest musician in the world and he’s out there getting hit with Cross Rhodes and doing all this stuff. If he gets injured, I’m sure that’s not helpful to his music career. It’s fully out of a place of respect.

When I see him with our talent and crew, he’s the most respectful guy and is like a kid in the candy store with this stuff. When people are like that, it makes me want to work hard for them and help them see that dream come true. Could we see him do more and step in the ring? Just gotta tune in,”

After his Elimination Chamber appearance, The Rock had revealed that Travis Scott was training to become a pro wrestler. Considering his latest conversation with Triple H, it appears that Scott’s in-ring debut might happen sooner rather than later.

Booker T Gives Holy Excuse For Falling Asleep At WWE Hall of Fame

0

Did Booker T fall asleep at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony? Not according to the two-time WWE Hall of Famer. During the event to celebrate legends of the ring, the camera cut to Booker who seemed to be dozing off as Michelle McCool discussed her career.

Taking to X, Booker shared his side of ‘sleep-gate.’ Instead of nodding off as McCool reflected on her notable feuds, Booker T joked that he was in the midst of a religious moment.

Booker knows a thing or two about Hall of Fame induction speeches having given two already himself. In 2013, Booker received his first Hall of Fame ring for his work as a solo star. In 2019, he received his second alongside Stevie Ray for his role in Harlem Heat.

Mere hours after the Hall of Famer, Booker was needed in Las Vegas to serve as a commentator for NXT Stand & Deliver. With that in mind, many would excuse Booker for trying to catch a few moments of much-needed rest, but according to the legend, he was simply in the midst of his prayers.

IYO SKY Breaks Decades-Long Streak With WrestleMania 41 Win

0

WrestleMania 41: Sunday kicked off with IYO SKY retaining the Women’s World Championship in an instant classic against Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. Not only did SKY emerge victorious in the show’s opener, but she shattered an unfortunate record that has stood for decades.

IYO SKY is the first Japanese Superstar to win a match on WrestleMania’s main card in decades. Before SKY’s win inside Allegiant Stadium, the most recent Japanese Superstar to win on the main card was Taka Michinoku who beat Aguila for the Light Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 14 in 1998. On X, Shinsuke Nakamura celebrated SKY’s victory.

While Akebono won a Sumo match at WrestleMania 21 against the Big Show, he was not a Superstar and his match was far from being a standard wrestling match. In 2010, Yoshi Tatsu won a battle royal but that match occurred on the pre-show and not the main card of WrestleMania 26.

Whichever way you slice it, IYO SKY proved herself at WrestleMania against two of WWE’s very best. Now, Ripley, Belair and everyone in WWE will know not to overlook the Genius of the Sky.

Dominik Mysterio Enters Elite Club With WWE WrestleMania 41 Title Win

0

Dominik Mysterio is the brand-new WWE Intercontinental Champion after winning the gold in an exciting fatal four-way during WrestleMania 41: Sunday. Mysterio ended the second reign of Bron Breakker in a match that also featured Dom’s Judgment Day ally Finn Balor as well as Penta.

With this win, Mysterio hasn’t just become Intercontinental Champion but has added his name to an elusive group. Mysterio is now the third Superstar to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship after his father. The club includes:

  • Curtis Axel (won at Payback 2013,) the son of Mr. Perfect (won at Superstars of Wrestling on May 19, 1990)
  • Jey Uso (won at September 23, 2024 Raw,) the son of Rikishi (won at WWF SmackDown on June 22, 2000)
  • Dominik Mysterio (won at WrestleMania 41,) the son of Rey Mysterio (won at WrestleMania 25)

Dominik and Rey are the only father-son duo to both win the Intercontinental title at a Premium Live Event, and its fitting that the pair both kicked off their first reigns at WrestleMania. While it’s unlikely that Rey will be celebrating his son’s win publicly anytime soon, the connection between the father and son just got even stronger.

Triple H Assures That ‘True Pro’ Bayley Would Be ‘Just Fine’ After WrestleMania 41 Snub

0

Triple H says Bayley would be just fine.

The former Women’s Champion was set to team with Lyra Valkyria to challenge for the women’s tag title at WrestleMania. She was pulled from the show at last minute, however, after suffering a kayfabe injury in a backstage attack on Saturday.

Bayley ended up being the only one of the three remaining horsewomen in WWE who did not get to compete at the PPV. Her absence from the show was questioned by fans, with many saying that Valkyria should have been defending her Women’s IC title against the wrestling veteran in a singles match at the show.

The Chief Content Officer, Triple H, addresses the concerns regarding the female star during his appearance on the post WrestleMania press conference. He called Bayley a ‘true pro’ claiming that he cannot say enough good things about her:

“Don’t worry, guys, Bayley will be just fine. True pro. Cannot say enough good things about her. True pro,”

Bayley’s injury angle ended up being a setup for Becky Lynch’s WWE return. Lynch went on to win the tag titles with Lyra, and Becky has since confirmed that she is back with the company full time.

Triple H also talked about fans’ disappointment with the WrestleMania 41 main event between John Cena and Cody Rhodes. You can check out what he said here.

Triple H Tells People To ‘Hang In For The Ride’ After Disappointing WrestleMania 41 Conclusion

0

Triple H says John Cena is the puppet master now.

The Cenation Leader made history by defeating Cody Rhodes to win a record-breaking 17th world title in the main event of WrestleMania 41. The absence of The Rock and a general awkwardness in the bout, however, left fans feeling disappointed with Cena’s last Mania match.

John appeared on the post-show press conference claiming that he’ll ruin wrestling. When asked about it during his own press conference appearance, Triple H said that he loves the way Cena is approaching things now:

“I love where John’s head is at. I love that John Cena — he’s the flip of a coin right now. And the funny thing is that people were flipping the coin for him before. Now he’s flipping the coin, right?

So all the things that they — they booed John, they were relentless on him, they pushed him to be great in some ways, but it was — you know, never…it was not easy for him sometimes. I think now he gets to be the puppet master and he gets to flip that coin for them, and be the polar opposite of everything that he was before.”

He’s Smiling At All of You: Triple H

Triple H discussed how John Cena had been a smiling baby face all these years, hiding his feelings and now he’s flipped the coin. The Game also seemingly responded to the complaints about the main event, once again telling fans to be patience and enjoy the ride:

“I think he’s as grumpy as he comes across, that deep down — funny thing, somebody asked him a question a few minutes ago, ‘You smiled all the time before now you don’t smile.’ I believe he smiled all the time before and on the inside he was grumpy.

Now the grumpy’s on the outside, and on the inside, he’s smiling at all of you, right? Because now he’s flipping the coin, now he’s the puppet master. As someone else says all the time, ‘Just hang in for the ride.’ He’s controlling, he’s driving now, and he’s having a blast doing it.”

Fan Hit By Vehicle After WrestleMania 41 Title Match

0

A person was struck down by a vehicle at WrestleMania 41, in a separate incident to what transpired with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin during the show’s second night. This incident instead occurred following Dominik Mysterio’s Intercontinental Championship victory. As the new champion was carted away, presumably to a media appearance, the cart hit a fan, causing them to fall.

Footage of this video has divided fans online with some blaming the driver. However, many fans are arguing that the person should have been aware not to get too close to the vehicle which made its presence clear with the use of the horn. Some have even claimed that the person struck did so deliberately to try and sue WWE.

This incident wasn’t the only vehicular issue at WrestleMania 41: Sunday. During the show, Stone Cold crashed his ATV into the barricade during his appearance. Though he didn’t hit anyone in the crowd, a fan fell backwards and Austin and WWE President Nick Khan checked on the fan. This was an incident that WWE didn’t plan on happenin, and should serve as a reminder about the safety of fans at WWE events.

Becky Lynch Confirms WWE Status After WrestleMania 41 Return

0

Becky Lynch has revealed how her schedule will look like after WrestleMania return.

The Man made a surprise comeback to team with Lyra Valkyria in the women’s tag team championship match, replacing Bayley at the PPV event. The duo ended up defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez at the Show of Shows for the titles.

The new champions, accompanied by Becky’s daughter Roux, made an appearance on the post-WrestleMania press conference. Roux first told a story about a skunk that got into their house and confirmed that she no longer loves Peppa Pig and their household is now a Bluey household.

Becky Lynch was then asked how she felt being away from WWE for over a year on her own accord instead of having to sit out due to an injury or other reasons. She claimed that getting the time with her daughter was amazing:

“Oh, it was amazing. It was amazing, I wouldn’t give it back for the world, you know, getting to get her into activities and into school and all those things and have a routine. It’s been the best, it’s the most important thing that I’m ever gonna do.

I love my family more than anything. The thing that I love next to that is wrestling. So being able to be here and come back, it’s really quite amazing.”

The Man Don’t Do Part Time: Becky Lynch

The former Women’s World Champion was also asked if she is back on the road full-time or if she’ll be making occasional appearances for the promotion. Becky Lynch claimed that The Man doesn’t do part time:

“Yeah. The Man don’t do part-time. Come on now. Yeah. When I go, I go hard. And I’ll go hard until I can’t go no more. Or until I take another break.”

The press conference also featured an appearance from John Cena, who trolled all the reporters. You can check out everything he said in his first post-WrestleMania appearance here.

The Rock Trends As Fans Bemoan WWE Icon’s WrestleMania Absence

0

When Travis Scott showed up during the main event of WrestleMania 41: Night Two, fans predicted that The Rock would not be far behind. Instead, WrestleMania went off the air with no sign of the ‘Final Boss,’ despite his connection to John Cena’s heel turn.

Taking to social media, fans loathed the fact that The Rock had not appeared. Many fans are still awaiting a proper explanation as to what role The Rock played in John Cena, arguably the biggest babyface in WWE history, turning to the dark side.

While The Rock had made clear that he was in Hawaii on Saturday, fans had hoped that he would make the trip to Las Vegas. As questions remain about his involvement in this storyline, fans are growing increasingly frustrated by the Rock’s absence from WWE’s biggest angle.

John Cena Asked About The Rock’s WrestleMania 41 Absence, 17th Title Win

0

John Cena trolled everyone in his first appearance after WrestleMania 41.

The Cenation Leader made history at the Show of Shows by defeating Cody Rhodes to win his 17th world title. Travis Scott came out to help Cena during the bout and in the end, John won using a low blow and the championship belt to his advantage.

The new Undisputed WWE Champion took part in the post-WrestleMania press conference to ‘develop a better relationship with media and journalists’ who cover the sport, and claimed that he would field all questions asked to him.

He was immediately asked about the glaring absence of The Rock from the show after forming an alliance with Cena at Elimination Chamber. The WWE Champion answered very briefly, saying that it’s a ‘clickbait question and lazy reporting.’

Tune Into Monday Night: John Cena

The Hollywood star then answered questions about his preparation for the Mania match and not smiling with the same select words. The final question of the conference was about his 17th title win, and John Cena finally gave people a headline:

“You know that seems like a clickbait question, I’m beginning to sense a pattern here. That you guys are just looking for headlines, so I’ll give you one. Tune into Monday Night Raw, to see how I ruin wrestling. And keep in mind, you’re now talking to the last real champion. Step your game up next time.”

Cathy Kelley also tried to speak to Cody Rhodes after his title loss in the main event. The now former champion, however, was speechless and he walked away without saying any words, accompanied by Brandi Rhodes.

It’d be interesting to see if Rhodes gets a rematch for the title or if a new challenger rises to face Cena after Mania. We should probably get the answer on Raw this Monday Night.

Watch: Unseen Footage of Damian Priest Being Helped To Back After Brutal WrestleMania 41 Match

0

Damian Priest might have suffered an injury at WrestleMania 41.

The former World Champion went to war with Drew McIntyre at the Show of Shows when the two faced each other in a Sin City Street Fight on night 2 of the PPV.

Neither of the competitors held anything back, and they used weapons like the steel steps and steel chair to inflict brutality on each other while trying to win the bout.

Towards the end of the match, Drew delivered a Future Shock DDT to Priest onto the steel steps but Damien somehow survived and continued the fight.

Damian Priest Helped To Back After WrestleMania 41 Match

The Scottish Warrior finally sent Damian crashing through not one but two tables on the outside of the ring. He followed it up with a Claymore into a chair to get the pin.

A fan video of the aftermath of the bout which has surfaced online, shows Damian Priest having to be helped to the back by the officials.

While an injury has not been confirmed as of this writing, it seems almost impossible that Priest walked away without at least some damage after the brutal match.

John Cena continued to disrespect the WWE title after WrestleMania went off air.

The Cenation Leader chased history when he went up against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 41 night 2.

Many expected The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin to be a part of the match but fans only got disappointment in the department of surprise appearances.

The only big name that showed up was Travis Scott, who helped distract Cody for a while. Scott pulled the referee out while Rhodes went for the pin and ended up eating a Cross Rhodes for his effort.

John Cena then introduced the championship belt into the match. Cody got possession of the title after a tug of war with his opponent but he ultimately decided against using it.

What Happened After WrestleMania 41

The Hollywood star had no such qualms, on the other hand. He delivered a low blow and hit the American Nightmare with the belt to get the pin for his historic 17th world title victory.

Cena invited Travis Scott back into the ring after his win, and the show went off air with the two celebrating in the squared circle while a shocked Rhodes looked on from outside.

WWE later posted the video of John after the show as the now 17-time world champion put the title on backwards. He walked out of the arena to a chorus of boos and a big smile on his face.

Cody Rhodes’ 378-Day Undisputed WWE Title Reign Ends at WrestleMania 41

Cody Rhodes’ 378-day reign as Undisputed WWE Champion officially concluded on April 20, 2025, when John Cena defeated him at WrestleMania 41 Night 2 in Paradise, Nevada. The match marked the end of one of the longest and most impactful title reigns in modern WWE history.

Rhodes’ Journey to the Top

Rhodes captured the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania XL on April 7, 2024, by defeating Roman Reigns in a Bloodline Rules match. The win symbolized Rhodes “finishing his story” and claiming his first world title in WWE.

His path to the title included a loss in a tag match on WrestleMania XL Night 1, where he and Seth Rollins fell to The Rock and Roman Reigns. As a result, his championship match became a Bloodline Rules contest. Despite interference from members of The Bloodline, Rhodes was aided by Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, John Cena, and The Undertaker to secure the victory.

Key Title Defenses

During his reign, Rhodes consistently defended the championship against top-tier opponents. Notable televised defenses included matches against:

  • AJ Styles
  • Logan Paul
  • Solo Sikoa, including a Steel Cage match on SmackDown
  • Kevin Owens

In addition to televised events, Rhodes defended his title at numerous live events, facing challengers like Dominik Mysterio, Jacob Fatu, Austin Theory, Carmelo Hayes, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Santos Escobar.

Significance of the Reign

Rhodes’ 378-day reign stands among the longest of WWE’s modern era. While it falls short of records set by legends like Bruno Sammartino or Bob Backlund, it eclipsed the 434-day reign of CM Punk and established Rhodes as a reliable main-event presence.

His run followed Roman Reigns’ 1,316-day Universal Championship reign, positioning Rhodes as WWE’s central figure throughout the past year. His consistency, crowd connection, and match quality earned widespread praise from critics and fans alike.

A Legacy Cemented

By the time of his final defense at WrestleMania 41, Rhodes had firmly established himself as a defining champion of his generation. Wrestling media outlets highlighted his reign as a major creative and fan engagement success. As of February 2025, Bleacher Report awarded the run an “A,” citing Rhodes’ ability to deliver across all challenges during his reign.

Rhodes’ journey—from leaving WWE, co-founding AEW, and returning to win WWE’s top title—culminated in a reign that solidified his place in wrestling history. With his loss, John Cena begins his record-setting 14th WWE Championship reign, marking the start of a new chapter in the company’s evolving landscape.

‘Somber’ Cody Rhodes At A Loss for Words After WrestleMania 41 Defeat

At WWE WrestleMania 41, Cody Rhodes lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena in Night Two’s shocking main event. During the post-show, Cathy Kelley tried to interview Rhodes who made clear he was not ready to talk. When Joe Tessitore asked Kelley for how Cody seemed in the moment, she said:

“I mean it looks like he is very somber, he is devestated. He is still processing all of this. We talk about how hard he fought to get her and to watch it, just lose everything. Lose everything that he’s worked for.”

Rhodes’ defeat marks the end of his first WWE World Championship reign, a run on top that lasted 378 days. Along the way, Rhodes had retained against the likes of AJ Styles, Logan Paul, Solo Sikoa, and Kevin Owens before his defeat inside Allegiant Stadium. Rhodes ‘finished his story’ by defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, ending the OTC’s 1,316-day reign as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

Cena has vowed to ruin wrestling and has completed the first phase of his plan. Now, it remains to be seen if John can hold the gold until he retires, forcing WWE to create what Cena has called a “toy” for the remaining roster to fight for.
