AEW Removed From Britt Baker’s Social Media Bios

0

Britt Baker was the first woman signed to an AEW talent contract in 2019 and for a while, was the top star of the women’s division. Baker’s days on top are now a distant memory, and her recent social media activity may have teased a bold move.

Baker has removed all references to AEW in her Instagram bio, distancing herself from the All-Elite promotion. On X, Baker’s bio is similarly AEW-free and makes reference to her role as a wrestler and a dentist.

Britt Baker Social Media

Baker’s alterations come amid an interesting time in the DMD’s career. Baker hasn’t competed since November 2024, and has competed just five times over the past year. Baker remains active on social media though rarely makes reference to AEW.

Interestingly, her latest reference to AEW on social media saw her throw support behind Saraya following the British wrestler’s exit from AEW.

Baker’s absence has left fans wondering as to whether her time with AEW may also be coming to an end. In January, Chris Jericho cast doubt on the idea that Baker will leave AEW, following reports of alleged heat on the former Women’s World Champion.

If Baker does end her time with AEW, fans can expect WWE to make an effort to sign Baker who could also see interest from promotions overseas such as STARDOM. Whatever’s next, Britt Baker remains a talking point among wrestling fans, even with her hiatus from AEW growing day-by-day.

Strickland’s role demonstrates the growing mainstream appeal of AEW, a huge move for a company that is just six years old. Already, fans see AEW talent, including ones not attached to a past-life in WWE, having roles in interviews and press events, highlighting how far Tony Khan’s company has come.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen, obviously, but I do know that I want to be walking in with this title and walking out with it.”

“If Chelsea really wants to mix it up again, I’m fine with that. I love wrestling Piper Niven. So, you can do something like that, or even give people a chance, like a Mia Yim — give Michin a chance too.”

Vega was especially interested in facing Michin, noting that tthe pair wresled one another on the indies. The Women’s U.S. Champion said a SummerSlam match would be a “tiebreaker moment,” hinting that the duo are tied when it comes to wins and losses.

While Vega is ready to take on all-comers, she’s yet to put her U.S. title on the line. Stay tuned for the latest on Zelina Vega who has big plans for SummerSlam if she’s still champion come August 2.

R-Truth: I’ll Beat John Cena Back to his Senses At Saturday Night’s Main Event

0

R-Truth will battle his ‘childhood hero’ John Cena, but their match will be about much more than John’s WWE Championship. Appearing on WWE SmackDown, Truth reflected on being attacked by Cena after WWE Backlash. Truth said that after years of John being a “beacon of light” that the man who put him through a table earlier this month wasn’t the real John Cena.

R-Truth said that he doesn’t want to fight John, but will do what must to bring John back to his senses. Truth ended his interview with Wade Barrett by revealing hat he had spoken to SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. The match is set for Saturday Night Main Event on May 24, adding another exciting contest to the card.

Truth and Cena battled for the WWE Championship on pay-per-view in 2011, with the babyface John getting the win over Truth, who at the time was deep into conspiracy theories. Now, the dynamic between the two has shifted and Truth hopes to bring John back to his old self at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Aldis then introduced her as SmackDown’s newest full-time talent, making clear the Beautiful Madness’ move to the main roster.

Giulia’s move marks a quick turnaround for the Japanese Superstar who made her official debut for WWE back in September 2024. Since then, she has captured the NXT Women’s Title and reached the top of the NXT Women’s division.

More recently, Giulia has been appearing on WWE Raw alongside Roxanne Perez with the pair battling Women’s World Champion IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. Now though, Giulia’s future is bathed in blue as part of WWE SmackDown.

Superstars Qualify for MITB Ladder Matches on WWE SmackDown

0

The road to WWE Money in the Bank 2025 began on the May 16, episode of WWE SmackDown with two Superstars earning their spots in the Men’s and Women’s Ladder Matches. On the men’s side of things, Solo Sikoa earned a spot in the ladder match with a victory over Rey Fenix and Jimmy Uso.

This win marks Solo’s first time competing in the Money in the Bank Ladder match. In 2023, Sikoa headlined the event in the ‘Bloodline Civil War’ that saw himself and Roman Reigns lose to The Usos.

For the women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match, Alexa Bliss earned her spot in the match with a victory over Chelsea Green and Michin. Bliss nailed a Sister Abigail on Green to pick up the win, one week removed from her return to TV after months away.

Bliss won the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2018 and would cash in that night to capture the Raw Women’s Championship. Now, Bliss has a golden opportunity to regain gold if she can win the ladder match for the second time.

“It’s Not Okay”: Sheamus On WWE WrestleMania Absence

0

Sheamus returned to WWE television on the May 5th episode of WWE Raw, following a notable absence that stemmed from his appearance in the men’s Royal Rumble match earlier this year. While he competed at several live events in March, the multi-time world champion was missing from WrestleMania 41.

In a candid interview with Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail, Sheamus shared his feelings about being sidelined for WWE’s biggest event of the year.

“I was gutted that I wasn’t at Mania,” Sheamus revealed. “The last appearance that I had was at the Rumble. I want to be in the mix. I want to be there. I’m more passionate now about my job than I ever have been. Some of the guys are like, ‘You’ve been at so many WrestleMania’s, so it’s okay.’ But it’s not okay. I love what I do. I love going out there in front of a crowd. I love putting on banger after banger. I love that intensity. I love setting the bar so high that everybody including the main event guys who have months and months to prepare are trying to catch up with me. Until the wheels come off and I can’t do it anymore I want to go out there. I don’t want to miss anything and I don’t want to miss a WrestleMania. It was tough. I’m not going to lie, it was really really hard.”

While Sheamus watched from home, Dominik Mysterio captured the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41, winning a competitive four-way match against Bron Breakker, Penta, and Finn Balor. This title holds immense significance for “The Celtic Warrior” as he has never won it.

“I had pitched to hopefully get in the Intercontinental title stuff again. They’re probably tired about me talking about it but that’s the one title that I have left to become the first ever ultimate Grand Slam Champion in WWE. That’s the Holy Grail, that’s it,” Sheamus explained. He reiterated his profound disappointment at not being involved: “But I wasn’t happy sitting at home. I don’t want to miss WrestleMania I don’t want to go there and not be part of the biggest show of the year. It’s tough for me. I don’t care, if you have passion for what you do you don’t want to miss that.”

Jeff Cobb Given New WWE Ring Name

0

The powerhouse formerly known to many wrestling fans as Jeff Cobb has officially received his new WWE ring name. Revealed on this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, the superstar will now be known as JC Mateo.

Despite being referred to as Jeff Cobb by commentary during his impactful debut at WWE Backlash earlier this month, the change was signaled during SmackDown’s opening segment when Solo Sikoa introduced him merely as “JC.” WWE later confirmed the full name, JC Mateo, via an official YouTube upload following the segment.

WWE had filed a trademark for “JC Mateo” on May 10, the very night he made his surprise appearance at Backlash. On SmackDown, He was attacked by an irate LA Knight, who was seeking revenge after Mateo interfered in his WWE United States Championship match at WWE Backlash.

Mateo’s interference helped Jacob Fatu retain the title against Knight. You can check out the segment below:

Plans For AEW Anarchy In The Arena

0

The anticipation for AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view is building, with one match in particular promising utter chaos: Anarchy in the Arena. The build-up itself has been nothing short of anarchy, leaving many fans eagerly speculating about the participants in this no-holds-barred match.

Sources within AEW have provided Fightful Select with an expected lineup for the highly anticipated match. While the card is always subject to change, current indications point towards an interesting lineup. The teams are shaping up as follows: Swerve Strickland, Willow Nightingale, Kenny Omega, Samoa Joe, and Powerhouse Hobbs are slated to join forces, facing off against the formidable alliance of the Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), Jon Moxley, Gabe Kidd, and Marina Shafir.

Katsuyori Shibata and Claudio Castagnoli could very well be added to their respective sides. While the involvement of HOOK and Wheeler Yuta wasn’t confirmed to Fightful Select, the possibility remains open should they be available, further underscoring the unpredictable nature of Anarchy in the Arena.

Interestingly, Fightful Select also learned that a significant Continental Championship match is expected to feature “Speedball” Mike Bailey taking on Kazuchika Okada. While this high-stakes singles contest is anticipated to occur earlier in the evening, the possibility of either Bailey or Okada making a cameo appearance during the Anarchy in the Arena match later on has not been ruled out.

Ken Shamrock Shares Whether In-Ring Return Will Ever Happen

0

Ken Shamrock’s contributions to professional wrestling are undeniable—not least for popularizing the use of tap-outs in the industry. At 61, Shamrock remains in remarkable shape, but is an in-ring return on the horizon for the “World’s Most Dangerous Man”? According to Shamrock himself, the answer is a firm no.

Speaking to No Holds Barred, Shamrock addressed the frequent question about a potential comeback. While fans often comment that he still looks like he could compete, Shamrock’s stance hasn’t wavered.

“You always get that, ‘Boy, looks like he could still go,’ and, uh, you know, then there’s always that question, ‘Will you think about going back?’ And it’s like, no,” he said.

Shamrock emphasized that once he made the decision to step away, it was final, adding that “I had a great career. I ran it as long as I could, and I’m done.” Not only is a return to the WWE ring off the table, but fans shouldn’t expect him back in the Octagon either.

“I won’t get back in the cage or the ring because that’s just not in the cards. But you will see me around the events. You will see me doing other things to entertain the fans. I’m not in the ring, but maybe with my creativity.”

Shamrock’s final match took place at BCW Turn Up The Heat in 2022, where he secured a win over Harry Smith. And while he may still look capable of locking in his feared ankle lock, a return to active competition is clearly not in his future.

Oba Femi: “I’m Not A Fan Of Anyone On The Main Roster”

0

NXT North American Champion Oba Femi is already looking ahead, and when he watches WWE’s main roster shows like Raw and SmackDown, it’s strictly business, not fandom. In a recent interview with Jim Varsallone, the dominant champion explained his approach to observing those already at the pinnacle of the sport.

Femi made it clear that watching the main roster is a crucial part of his development and planning for what’s ahead.

“As a student of the game. As a scholar of the sport, I have to watch. I definitely don’t watch from the perspective of a fan anymore. Because let’s be real, a lot of these guys I’m gonna be shoulder-to-shoulder with them in a couple of years, maybe a couple of months.

This shift in perspective is a core part of his formidable mindset. Femi sees himself on an inevitable collision course with WWE’s top stars and is preparing accordingly.

“I’m not a fan of anyone on the main roster. I’m Oba Femi, you’re competition now,” he declared. “So I watch from a different perspective, not that of a fan, but of a Warrior seeking to prepare.”

Kelley didn’t reveal any additional details about the project, the announcement has fueled speculation among fans about what type of role she might be taking on. Reports have indicated that she has been training at the WWE Performance Center and attending promo classes.

Kelley has been a consistent backstage figure on RAW and SmackDown since returning to WWE in 2022 after a two-year hiatus. With her first film role now underway, Cathy Kelley is clearly expanding her horizons—proving her talents extend beyond Sports Entertainment.

Dominik Mysterio Reveals the ‘Glue’ Holding Judgment Day Together

0

Despite recent changes to The Judgment Day faction, WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio believes the group remains stronger than ever—thanks largely to veteran superstar Carlito, he told Jim Varsallone in a Miami Herald interview.

“It’s truly amazing what we’ve been able to do with The Judgment Day,” Mysterio said.

“Especially since factions in WWE don’t last very long, and the way The Judgment Day was with all of the gold we had—we had both the Raw and SmackDown tag team titles, I was taking care of NXT, I had NXT gold, [Rhea] had the Women’s World title—we were all just dripping in gold.”

What set The Judgment Day apart, according to Mysterio, was their unprecedented presence.

“We were really just taking over every single show—not just Raw, it was Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. That’s never been done before. I feel like we really did change the game.”

Following the departures of Ripley and Priest, Mysterio emphasized how Carlito has been crucial to the group’s chemistry.

“It continues to evolve,” Mysterio explained. “Getting rid of Rhea and Priest and adding the addition of my Wita Live with Raquel and Carlito—it continues to evolve in that way. And it’s for the best.”

Mysterio was particularly effusive when discussing Carlito’s importance:

“I love Carlito and he’s the man. I hope he sticks with us forever because he really is like the glue that keeps The Judgment Day together at this point.”

Dirty Dom Plans to Cement Legacy in AAA, Outshine Father’s Mexican Wrestling Impact

0

WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio has revealed plans to expand his legacy into Mexico following WWE’s acquisition of Triple A in a recent interview with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald.

“It was very surprising because I never thought it would have been possible,” Mysterio said of the acquisition.

“They actually purchased AAA—that’s so huge. That is, if not the biggest company out in Mexico, the one that has the most history with not only the Mysterio name but so many other lineages and luchadors.”

The second-generation superstar sees this as an opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream.

“Before I even started wrestling and training, it was always a dream of mine to wrestle in Mexico with Triple A,” Mysterio confessed. “I’ve always wanted to continue the Mysterio legacy and do it better than he did in every way, shape, and form.”

With his trademark heel bravado, Mysterio didn’t hold back regarding his famous father, who became an international sensation through his innovative high-flying style in Mexico.

“I’m currently in WWE and I’m already better than Rey Mysterio,” he boldly claimed. “So I would love to go to Triple A and cement my legacy there and make it better than what he had already done.”

Mysterio emphasized his intention to overshadow his father’s legendary status:

“The name that you remember coming out of Triple A, Mexico, WWE… when you hear the word Mysterio, you think Dominic Mysterio.”

Dominik Mysterio: Today is the Best Era of WWE

0

WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik “Dirty Dom” Mysterio claims the current WWE era surpasses the legendary Attitude Era in an interview with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald.

Ahead of WWE’s Tampa takeover, Mysterio boldly challenged wrestling’s conventional wisdom.

“A lot of people would say the attitude era is the best era in wrestling, right? Or like the most money driven era in wrestling. Um, but I think I think this current era that we are currently in has it beat by a long long… miles, right? Cuz we’re doing some of the best work that we have ever done. Whether it’s storylines, whether it’s inring wrestling, uh, merchandise that we’re producing, like just everything is top level from the WWE right now.”

The second-generation superstar elaborated:

“We’re doing some of the best work that we have ever done. Whether it’s storylines, whether it’s in-ring wrestling, merchandise that we’re producing—just everything is top level from WWE right now.”

Mysterio highlighted WWE’s ability to stage multi-night takeovers as proof. “Four nights in Tampa—Saturday Night’s Main Event, NXT Battleground, Raw, and NXT again—that wouldn’t have happened back then, especially in one place,” he explained.

The Tampa takeover features events across four consecutive nights at the Yuengling Center from May 24-27.

Mysterio, who trained in Tampa with Jay Lethal, views the events as a homecoming. “I spent six months of my time out there. So to be able to come back home to Tampa with the whole WWE takeover, I’m very excited.”

“It’s just a good time to be in wrestling right now,” he concluded. “I’m very happy to be a part of this massive WWE monster that’s just taken over the world.”

“That Would Be Amazing”: Saraya Hopes To Tag With AJ Lee Again

0

Saraya, known to WWE fans as Paige, is already envisioning exciting future matches, including a potential tag team reunion with former three-time Divas Champion AJ Lee. Following her departure from AEW in March, Saraya discussed her dream matchups on a recent episode of Women’s Wrestling Talk.

While she might be taking some time away from the ring, Saraya has a clear list of talent she’d love to work with. She first named current AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné: “First of all, it would be Mercedes, of course. I feel like that’s a built-in story.” She also expressed interest in facing or teaming with WWE’s Rhea Ripley, saying, “Then I would love to face Rhea or be in a tag with Rhea… The first goth going against the modern goth, it’d be really great.”

However, a reunion with Lee, with whom she teamed in WWE during 2014, is something she’s interested in. “I would love to tag with AJ again down the road. I feel like that would be amazing,” Saraya stated. She added, “I just want to wrestle everybody,” also mentioning names like Natalya, Nikki Bella, Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair, and Trinity.

Saraya has confirmed the door remains open for a potential AEW return.

WWE International Supershows Planned

0

Following WWE’s acquisition of Mexico-based promotion AAA, announced at WrestleMania 41, new details are emerging about the company’s expansion plans in the region. According to a recent report from WrestleVotes, WWE is organizing multiple live events in Mexico “in the near future.”

These live events will reportedly be centered around a major featured attraction, dubbed a “SuperShow Mexico” event. While specific dates and locations for this “SuperShow” and the accompanying tour are still being finalized, the plans indicate a push into the Mexican market.

This development is noteworthy given WWE’s recent strategy of reducing its overall number of domestic live events, with TKO executives stating the company will “continue to prune” its touring schedule. These new Mexico shows signal a targeted international expansion.

The move builds on existing crossover opportunities, such as Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo and several TNA Wrestling champions (including Joe Hendry) being announced for AAA’s Triplemania Regia on June 15. Furthermore, WWE Women’s United States Champion Zelina Vega has publicly pitched defending her title in AAA.

WWE Announces Trio Of Olympians As Performance Center Recruits

0

WWE is always on the hunt for new talent, and now the company has brought in three athletes with Olympic pedigree, and hope to mould them into being future WWE Superstars. Shady Elnahas, Francois Prinsloo, and Aaron Fara have all joined WWE and on Twitter, the WWE NXT account shared a photo of the three signings.

Shady Elnahas, 27, is no stranger to winning as the Canadian judo fighter snagged gold at the Pan-American games in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, and 2024. He also represented Canada at the 2021 Tokyo Summer Games as well as in the Paris Olympics last year, so comes with a wealth of combat experience.

Francois Prinsloo, 23, has been making a name as a discus thrower and represented South Africa in Paris, so his arm strength will be undeniable as a WWE recruit.

Aaron Fara, 27, hails from Austria and represented the country in Judo at the Paris Olympics, where he competed in the men’s 100kg as well as the mixed team event.

Now, all three have jumped from the Olympics to WWE and will they see similar success to fellow Olympians like Kurt Angle, Ronda Rousey, and Chad Gable? Only time will tell…

WWE Fan Channels IYO SKY In Graduation Celebration

0

One WWE fan marked a major milestone by graduating and made his devotion to pro wrestling loud and clear during the ceremony. In footage that has since gone viral on TikTok, the fan accepted their diploma while holding a replica of the ‘Big Eagle’ version of the WWE Championship used from 1998 to 2002. In case that wasn’t enough of a clue, the fan celebrated after receiving their diploma with IYO SKY’s signature pointing gesture.

SKY is the reigning WWE Women’s World Champion after winning the gold from Rhea Ripley during the March 3, episode of WWE Raw. Despite being overlooked by Ripley and Bianca Belair on the road to WrestleMania 41, SKY proved why she shouldn’t be underestimated when she beat both women in Allegiant Stadium.

SKY has since found herself facing NXT’s Roxanne Perez and Giulia, leading to speculation that the duo are poised for a call-up. Whether on the main roster or in WWE NXT, IYO SKY continues to impress and has earned herself a legion of fans.

Released WWE Superstars Compete on EVOLVE

0

WWE made major cuts to its roster in May 2025, with both the main roster and those in WWE NXT being affected. While over a dozen Superstars are now facing a future outside WWE, some are still appearing on programming for now.

On the latest episode of WWE EVOLVE , Gallus (Joe Coffey and Mark Coffey) defeated Keanu Carver and Harlem Lewis. This is despite the fact that Gallus, which also includes Wolfgang, were released from WWE.

Later in the show, Javier Bernal was in action, despite also recently being released. Bernal debuted a new metalcore gimmick which consisted of headbanging and a mesh shirt, suggesting that there had been plans for a new gimmick before he was cut. This week’s WWE EVOLVE was taped in advance, explaining why talent are being used who are no longer part of WWE.

This isn’t the first time that Superstars have been presented after being given the pink slip. In 2024, Indi Hartwell competed on a pre-taped episode of SmackDown after being released. Hartwell has since signed with TNA Wrestling, and is open to a WWE return.

As for Gallus and Bernal, they will have to wait out a 30-day non-compete clause before they work elsewhere. With four talented individuals, it remains to be seen where they land next in the pro wrestling world.

Vince Russo Shares Heartfelt Jim Ross Post After Cancer Diagnosis

0

Jim Ross has been diagnosed with colon cancer, in the latest health battle for the man many consider the greatest commentator of all time. On X, Vince Russo shared a heartfelt message to Ross, a man who Russo holds an immense amount of respect for.

“I will pray with everything I have in my being for the health and speedy recovery of @JRsBBQ. With the hundreds of people I worked with in the wrestling business for over 30 years—there is no one I respect more than JR.

“He’s a man’s man. A straight shooter. If he had something to say he said it TO YOU. To be in the position of power that he was in–and NOT play politics– tells you all about his character.

“I love you, JR, and I will never forget the years that I worked with you. You are one of a kind and there will never be another.

“God Bless You, Sir.”

This isn’t Ross’ first battle with cancer, as he was diagnosed with skin cancer in late 2021. That same year, Ross shared that he was cancer free. We here at SEScoops are continuing to send Jim our very best amid this latest battle with cancer.

Kairi Sane & Mina Shirakawa Train In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with Matt Riddle

0

Mina Shirakawa and Kairi Sane may be on opposite sides of the AEW-WWE ‘war’ but came together to train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle. The pair trained with Riddle at the RUDOS Brazilian Jiu Jitsu facility, run by the former WWE United States Champion.

Riddle is not the only notable name who helps train fighters at the facility. Shayna Baszler, who was recently released from WWE, also works as a ‘professor’ at RUDOS, as does WWE Raw Superstar Karrion Kross. The facility offers “World Class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu led by experienced and accomplished instructors” for novices and professional fighters, according to the company’s website.

Back in the ring, Shirakawa recently earned herself a Women’s World Title match, a contest that will put her back in the ring with ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm. While Sane has yet to compete for WWE this year, fans can expect a hard-hitting style from the Pirate Princess thanks to her training.
