Mariah May on WWE Debut: ‘It’s About Damn Time!’

Mariah May has landed in WWE NXT with an exciting debut during the June 3, episode of the silver brand. In her first comments after making her debut as a WWE NXT Superstar, The Glamor made clear that her arrival has been a long time coming.

“It’s about damn time! I’ve wrestled all over the world and it’s only right that the glamour arrives in NXT.”

While May sees her WWE NXT debut as a long time coming, it has been reported that her AEW deal only expired at the start of June 2025. During her time with Tony Khan’s promotion, May held the AEW Women’s World Championship once, winning the title in her native England at All In: London 2024. May’s final match was fittingly the ‘Hollywood Ending’ with Toni Storm at AEW Revolution 2025.

Trick Williams Retains World Title on NXT Thanks to TNA Interference

WWE NXT’s Trick Williams is still the TNA World Champion, thanks to the efforts of some members of the TNA roster. During the June 3, episode of WWE NXT, Williams marked his first title defense by putting the gold on the line against Mike Santana.

Santana proved to be a worthy challenger to Williams in what was the rightful main event of a stacked episode. TNA wrestler Elijah was sat in the crowd to watch the match as he is next in line for a shot at the TNA World Championship.

During the climax of the match, Williams would trash-talk with Elijah before Trick grabbed Elijah’s guitar and smashed it on the ring steps. Amid the chaos, TNA’s AJ Francis and Casey Navarro jumped Santana and bounced him off the announce table. Williams would get back in the ring and hit the Trick Shot to retain the TNA World Championship.

Williams’ victory cements his control over the TNA World Champion but he will now have to look ahead to a showdown with Elijah. It remains to be seen if Williams can retain or if Elijah will bring the gold back home to TNA Wrestling.

Sting Superfans Get Engaged At Wrestling Icon’s Meet-and-Greet

Two fans of Sting were thrilled to meet the icon, and made their meet-and-greet even more special by getting engaged. On X, Sting shared footage of the two fans who got engaged and offered his congratulations to Angel and Crystal.

Sting retired from in-ring competition in 2024 and ended his AEW career undefeated with a tag-team victory at the Revolution pay-per-view. Though his in-ring career is over, Sting remains under contract with AEW and appeared at the All In: London 2024 pay-per-view.

Though his in-ring career is over, Sting continues to hold a significant presence in wrestling and is a regular at conventions and similar events. Former AEW Women’s World Champion “The Glamour” Mariah May has officially joined WWE, making her debut during the June 3, edition of WWE NXT. May appeared on the balcony during a segment involving NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne and made her intentions to win the gold crystal clear.

According to Fightful Select, May’s surprise appearance was kept under tight wraps. Sources say only a select few within WWE were aware of her involvement ahead of time, with even staff in the Gorilla position reportedly learning about the segment just moments before it aired.

May has now signed a multi-year contract with WWE, the report adds. Behind the scenes, internal movement had already begun to prepare for her arrival, including several recent NXT call-ups to the main roster. Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, and Roxanne Perez have all been moved to the main roster, with Jordynne Grace expected to join them shortly.

May was officially removed from AEW’s online roster on May 31, though her management initially claimed she was still under contract. New reports suggest her deal quietly expired at the start of June. AEW had shown interest in retaining her but May clearly felt that a move to WWE was the right decision.

Ricky Saints lost the NXT North American Championship to Ethan Page on the May 27 episode of WWE NXT, in a stunning loss for Saints. The title changed hands after Saints took a Twisted Grin from Page and his throat struck the crossbar of a chair.

During the June 3, episode of WWE NXT, it was revealed that that Ricky had suffered a laryngeal contusion. An image of Ricky’s CT scan was provided and it was promised that updates on his condition would be shared as they become available.

There is currently no timetable for Ricky Saints’ return to programming. It was reported mere days before this update that he was due to be called-up in the near future. For now though, Saints is out of action, raising questions about what’s next for him as a WWE Superstar.

Mariah May just made her impact known in WWE by making her debut during the June 3, edition of WWE NXT. As the women’s division descended into chaos, the lights dropped and May appeared on the balcony, earning a massive reaction from the crowd in attendance.

May declared that “The best women’s division in the world just got a lot more glamorous” to another loud pop. Her statement capped off a segment where the entire NXT women’s locker room unraveled over Jacy Jayne’s recent title win. Now, May has made her intentions clear, she plans on being WWE NXT Women’s Champion. Looking into the eyes of Jacy Jayne, May made herself clear, declaring “I’m the next NXT Women’s Champion.”

This debut wasn’t entirely unexpected as May had been quietly removed from AEW’s roster page days earlier. It had also been reported that she was finished with AEW and was set to join WWE imminently. On X, May declared that WWE was her home.

Update On Wardlow’s Extended AEW Absence

The reasons behind AEW star Wardlow’s prolonged absence from television, stretching back to March 2024, have come out.

A combination of injury, a car accident, and a significant television role is due to his absence from TV. According to a Fightful Select report, Wardlow first suffered what is believed to be a labrum injury in the Spring of 2024.

During his hiatus, he was also involved in a car accident, which, while it “didn’t cause the injury made it worse.” Despite these setbacks, Wardlow landed what sources described as a “very appropriate and special” television role in early 2025 and has since been medically cleared to return to the ring.

However, his AEW comeback is being strategically timed. After Wardlow met with AEW President Tony Khan, “all parties agreed that it wouldn’t serve anyone well to just bring him back briefly and take him off again for the TV role.”

Wardlow’s last AEW TV appearance was a World Title match against Samoa Joe in March 2024. Fightful Select also confirmed Wardlow has a “significant amount of time left on his AEW contract and will not be leaving any time soon.”

Matt Jackson isn’t just focused on a potential Being The Elite revival, or his role in AEW, but may soon be the figurehead of another wrestling promotion. During a recent live stream, Matt discussed the idea he’s shared with his brother to have another wrestling company under their control.

“Me and Nick have talked about it a lot. We’ve talked about buying PWG and reopening. We’ve talked about starting our own indie. We’ve talked about a wrestling school. I don’t know. In the next few years though, if we’re gonna do something, it’ll probably happen in the next few.”

Purchasing PWG would be a full-circle moment for the Bucks, given that their matches with the company proved to be instant classics among indie wrestling fans. Taking over the promotion would represent a new chapter in their PWG connection, while launching a school or new promotion would cement their legacy by shaping the next wave of talent.

While nothing is confirmed yet, the interest is clearly there—and fans of the independent scene are taking notice. It may be just a matter of time before the AEW EVPs hold management roles in PWG.

Nick Khan has unloaded a number of TKO shares in a major change for the serving WWE President. A new SEC filing shows that Khan is selling 28,557 shares of TKO stock. The stock boasts an aggregate market value of $4,506,580.17. The filing notes, “The securities to be sold were acquired upon the vesting of restricted stock units during
the period of 07/20/2023 through 01/02/2025.”

Khan joined WWE in 2020 and has worked his way up the promotion in rapid fashion. Today, Khan is responsible for some of the company’s biggest financial decisions. Khan can also be found speaking about WWE and TKO at media events and sharing his pearls of wisdom about how to succeed in a high-octane business.

Khan isn’t the only name to part ways with some of their stock in TKO. In April 2024, Vince McMahon severed his ties to WWE by selling his remaining shares in TKO. The sale marked the end of McMahon’s association with WWE, a connection that had been forged over half-a-century earlier.

TKO’s stock is currently worth $161.68 per share on the stock market.

Bear Bronson’s time with AEW has ended and the powerhouse isn’t holding back in his revelations about the company. Speaking on The Wrestling Junkies podcast, Bronson shared how his time with AEW, despite being his biggest exposure in wrestling, was not all he had hoped.

“You’re surrounded by a lot of people that pressure you to ‘just be grateful. Be grateful you’re getting used for that minute and 30 seconds.'”

Bronson tried to force himself to be happy as he watched friends reach much bigger milestones, including World Championship victories. While others were moving on to bigger things, Bronson’s plateau and the attitude of those around him took a toll.

“I have a lot of people looking down on me saying, ‘Just be happy you’re used at all.’ That kind of gets to you.”

Bronson’s AEW run wasn’t all bad, as he made clear that he’s “still grateful that over the past four years I’ve gotten to grow with AEW.” Bronson acknowledged that being part of AEW is “something people would kill for,” signalling that he’s aware of the opportunity he had.

Now, Bronson’s future in wrestling remains to be decided, but given the legal trouble of Bear Boulder, a tag-team reunion is far from certain. Whatever comes next, Bronson is ready to prove why he’s worth much more than the 90 seconds he was expected to be grateful for in AEW.

“I’ll tell you this much. I was in the shower when I got the call. I was washing my hair. And I’m like, oh, great. So, of course, I got out and saw it.”

Javier wasn’t home alone at the time of the unfortunate news as his wife Tatum Paxley also learned of his release. While Paxley has remained in WWE NXT and survived the cuts, she was broken by news of Bernal’s departure.

“My wife had a worse reaction than I did. She was sobbing and all that. I just had to be strong for a little bit. I was mad. You know, I was mad. I was pissed off.”

Bernal couldn’t help but be angry, but realized that wallowing in this anger would not do him any good. Instead, Bernal gave himself time to process what had happened before making plans for the future.

“I gave myself an hour to be mad, and then I got to work because I couldn’t just stop. Life doesn’t stop when this stops. So, I gave myself an hour to cry, and then we got to work.“

It remains unclear what’s next for Javier Bernal in his wrestling journey, one thing is certain—he’s not giving up. Fans will have to wait and see where he lands, but his determination to move forward is already evident.

Barbie Blank—better known to WWE fans as Kelly Kelly, wishes that she could forget all about her early days on WWE programming. In a new interview on The Wrestling Classic YouTube channel, Blank recalled debuting as an ‘exhibitionist’ in 2006 and her weekly segments where she teased going topless.

“The Exposé by myself is cringe… having to go out there on national television and do a strip piece by myself every week… I wish we could leave that in the past.”

Kelly’s Exposé would later become the Extreme Exposé as Brooke Adams and Layla would align with Blank. In the interview, Blank said that the segments became far more bearable when she wasn’t alone, even if she was still a “terrible dancer” at the time.

Being the Elite proved to be a hit among wrestling fans as it gave a behind-the-scenes look at AEW and its colorful cast of characters. Now, the show of fun wrestling-related skits may be on its way back, as well as a potential feature-length film project.

During a recent steam, Matt Jackson teased that “some high up in AEW” has been pushing for the show to be brought back. Not only that, but Jackson and others have discussed creating ‘BTE: The Movie.’

“We’ve actually discussed putting in real money in doing BTE: THE MOVIE. I have been contacted recently… I won’t say who it was… by someone high up in AEW to bring it back.”

Being the Elite wrapped in late 2023 after a seven-year run, much to the disappointment of fans of the Bucks, Kenny Omega, and others. In an interview with Adi Shankar in 2025, Omega discussed why the show ended and was hesitant about a return.

“Who did we hurt by doing this? Nobody. Who’d we hurt if we did it again today? Nobody. But it would offend somebody, and then that somebody would go out of their way to make sure they would hurt us.”

Whether Being the Elite returns, or even gets a movie, time will tell, but the series may not be as finished as first thought.

Former WWE NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose has spoken candidly about what she perceives as significant gender-based double standards in professional wrestling, particularly regarding compensation and earning opportunities.

In a wide-ranging interview with Card Player, Rose detailed her frustrations with WWE’s restrictions on outside income and highlighted the stark pay gap between male and female wrestlers in the industry.

“I Felt So Constricted”

“I do think that there is a double standard. I think there always is going to be, unfortunately,” Rose explained. “I don’t want to sound pessimistic but we strive to become better and I think we have become better in the world of sports when it comes to women.”

The former champion expressed frustration with WWE’s approach to talent compensation, particularly their restrictions on outside revenue streams.

“I just felt so constricted. Why don’t you want the superstar to become bigger and better and help your brand?” Rose questioned. “Some of these social media stars are making more money than actors and actresses. You don’t realize that you’re pigeonholed into something when you’re in a big company and they usually reap all the benefits of it. Whereas you’re the talent, so you should be getting most of it.”

Life-Changing Earnings Outside WWE

Since her WWE release in December 2022, Rose has built a lucrative career through content creation platforms. She revealed that she earned more in three months on FanTime than she did in an entire year with WWE, describing the financial change as “life-changing.”

However, Rose also shared some of the more unusual aspects of her new career, including the type of requests she receives from subscribers.

“I’ll definitely tell you that my fans ain’t shy. I get a ton of crazy requests. People are wild!” Rose said. “I don’t know what it is but people want me to choke them with my thighs. And I’m like what? Why would you want to be choked first of all and by my thighs? It’s like a leg scissor move.”

She noted that former WWE star Carmella actually used a similar thigh-based submission move as her finishing maneuver during her wrestling career.

More than two years after her controversial WWE release, former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose has revealed she would be open to a conversation with WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H about a potential return to the company.

In an exclusive interview with Card Player, Rose expressed her willingness to discuss returning to WWE, but made it clear that any comeback would need to be financially worthwhile and likely involve a major storyline.

“I would definitely take the phone call if Triple H rang,” Rose told Card Player. “I would love to have a conversation. We can even iron out some things maybe from the past that didn’t go as planned.”

Rose, whose real name is Amanda Saccomanno, was released by WWE in December 2022 following the leak of explicit content from her FanTime subscription site. Her departure ended a historic 413-day reign as NXT Women’s Champion.

The 34-year-old revealed she never had the opportunity to discuss her release with WWE management at the time, adding frustration to an already difficult situation.

“I’ve never been able to have a conversation with anyone that I knew or had a relationship with about being fired,” Rose explained. “It was like, okay no one’s going to give me a little explanation here.”

Financial Terms Would Be Key

While Rose appears open to reconciliation, she made it clear that any return would need to make business sense for her current situation. Since leaving WWE, Rose has reportedly earned significantly more through her content creation ventures than she ever did as a wrestler.

“It would have to really make sense for me to come back financially and it would have to be a huge event,” Rose stated, indicating that any return would likely need to be positioned as a major storyline rather than a simple comeback.

Rose’s departure from WWE proved to be financially beneficial in the long term. Reports suggest she earned more in three months on FanTime than she did in an entire year with WWE. “My whole career was definitely unique. I always had to try to prove myself in everything I did,” Rose reflected. “I really do think that those kinds of things helped me gain so much loyalty in the fans and equity in my name that I can carry with me the rest of my life.”

The former champion believes WWE “gave up on me too soon,” pointing to her successful NXT run as proof she had what it took to be a major star in the company.

The WWE Universe made themselves loud and clear during the June 2, 2025, edition of WWE Monday Night Raw as they showed support for R-Truth.
