Finn Balor Made History At AAA Triplemania

0

Finn Balor has joined a very exclusive club, becoming only the second wrestler in history to have competed at four of the professional wrestling industry’s biggest annual events: WWE WrestleMania, NJPW Wrestle Kingdom, CMLL Aniversario, and AAA Triplemania.

“The Prince” achieved the historic feat this past Saturday, August 16, when he competed at AAA Triplemanía XXXIII in Mexico City. He joins fellow WWE superstar Andrade as the only two wrestlers to have performed on all four of these major shows.

In a post on his Instagram account following the event, Balor highlighted his crowning achievement. The match at Triplemanía was a major inter-promotional Mixed Trios Match that saw Balor team with his Judgment Day stablemates, JD McDonagh and Raquel Rodriguez. The trio was victorious, defeating the team of Mr. Iguana, Niño Hamburguesa, and WWE NXT’s Lola Vice.

Balor’s journey to this historic milestone has spanned over a decade and three major promotions. He competed at CMLL’s 80th Anniversary Show in 2013 and NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 8 in 2014 during his legendary run as Prince Devitt.

Original Co-Host Of The Undertaker’s Podcast Details His Removal From The Show

0

Matthew Lyda, the original co-host of The Undertaker’s “Six Feet Under” podcast, has broken his silence on his abrupt removal from the show. In a new video with former WWE star Maven, Lyda explained how “The Deadman” broke the news to him and confirmed that their friendship remains as strong as ever.

The podcast, which originally launched as an independent project between the two friends, went on a sudden hiatus in March of this year. When it returned in June, it was under the WWE & Fanatics podcast network, and Lyda had been replaced as co-host by The Undertaker’s wife, Michelle McCool. Lyda recounted the conversation where he learned of the change.

“He goes, ‘Ahh, I really want to talk to you about some stuff.’… He was like, ‘Hey, you know, the podcast is going to be taken over by WWE. We’re moving in that direction,’” Lyda said. “And I looked at him, I was like, ‘So I’m assuming that this is the end of my run on this?’ And he goes, ‘Yeah, unfortunately.’”

Despite the disappointment of being removed from the project he helped create, Lyda made it clear that there is no bad blood between him and his close friend, Mark Calaway. He recalled a promise they made to each other years ago to never let business get in the way of their friendship.

“He just looked at me and goes, ‘We good?’ I said, ‘Mark, we said something a long time ago… if money ever comes in between us, we’re going to shut the whole thing down… And we’ll forget about all of it,’” Lyda recounted. “And I was like, ‘Dude, there’s nothing business-wise that on my end would ever come between you and I. I was like, ‘This is a podcast, man.'”

Since its relaunch under the WWE banner, “The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under” podcast has featured several guests including former World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER.

AAA Stars Arrive in Philadelphia for Tonight’s WWE RAW

0

Two of AAA’s biggest names have made their way to Philadelphia ahead of tonight’s WWE Monday Night RAW. Mr. Iguana and reigning AAA Mega Champion El Hijo del Vikingo were confirmed in town by Fightful Español, after both competing at TripleManía XXXIII over the weekend. Their quick turnaround demonstrates the commitment both wrestlers have to this cross-promotional opportunity.

While Mr. Iguana is expected to make sporadic appearances on WWE programming, Vikingo’s involvement runs much deeper. After retaining his championship at TripleMania (thanks to a surprise appearance by AJ Styles), his next defense will be against Dominik Mysterio at Worlds Collide 2 from Las Vegas.

WWE plans to utilize its top platforms to increase AAA’s profile, with one source revealing to Fightful that “there will be semi-regular integration of AAA talent across much of WWE programming.” The company has reportedly been thrilled with Mr. Iguana’s performances to date.

This development builds on the momentum from TripleManía, where WWE stars including Dominik Mysterio and Natalya participated in cross-promotional matches. Now, that lucha libre influence is extending to Monday nights.

Tonight’s RAW also features Roman Reigns seeking revenge on The Vision, Naomi addressing her missed title opportunity, and Becky Lynch defending the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Natalya. With AAA stars now in the mix, Monday Night RAW is becoming increasingly unpredictable.

WWE Raw Preview: Monday, August 18, 2025

0

WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce has announced the following matches and segments for Monday’s show from Philadelphia, PA:

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and The Vision to Appear

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins will join The Vision for a segment on tomorrow’s show. Rollins recently regained the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2025 through his “Ruse of the Century,” cashing in his Money in the Bank contract after CM Punk defeated Gunther. The Vision consists of Rollins, Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed, who have been dominant forces on Raw since forming.

Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match

Becky Lynch will defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Natalya. Lynch won the title from Lyra Valkyria at Money in the Bank on June 7, 2025, and successfully retained it against Valkyria at SummerSlam 2025 in a brutal No DQ match. This marks another defense of her first Women’s Intercontinental Championship reign.

Bron Breakker vs. Jey Uso

Bron Breakker and Jey Uso are set to face off in singles competition. Breakker is currently a member of Seth Rollins’ Vision stable and has been involved in the group’s recent dominance over CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and LA Knight on recent Raw episodes.

Iyo Sky vs. Raquel Rodriguez

Iyo Sky will take on Raquel Rodriguez in women’s division action. Sky was scheduled to challenge Naomi for the Women’s World Championship on the August 11 episode of Raw, but the match was postponed due to Naomi not being medically cleared to compete.

Penta vs. Xavier Woods

Penta is scheduled to face Xavier Woods in singles action. Penta made his WWE debut on the January 13, 2025 episode of Monday Night Raw, defeating Chad Gable in his first match. The former AEW star has been building momentum since his arrival and represents WWE’s continued integration of international talent.

Women’s World Champion Naomi to Speak

Women’s World Champion Naomi will address the WWE Universe during tomorrow’s broadcast. Naomi was not medically cleared to compete on the August 11 episode of Raw, leading to speculation about her status. This segment is expected to provide clarification on her condition and future title defenses.

Violent Rule Made For Paul Walter Hauser’s Next Match

0

Actor Paul Walter Hauser has been dominating both in the ring and on the silver screen, and is the current PROGRESS Proteus Champion. Now, fresh off of appearing in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Hauser is ready to show his violent side in an upcoming title match.

Hauser will be a part of PROGRESS Chapter 183, set for Monday, August 25, at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London. There, Hauser will put the gold on the line against YouTube sensation Simon Miller, Charles Crowley, and Bullit. Hauser has chosen a stipulation meaning fans can bring their own weapons to be used in the match.

This match will mark Hauser’s 16th match of his professional wrestling career. He won the gold at PROGRESS Chapter 179 in a five-way that included both Miller and Crowley. Hauser ended Miller’s title reign, adding another layer of drama as the pair prepare to do battle in this upcoming four-way title match.

It remains to be seen what weapons fans will provide for the four wrestlers when they battle at PROGRESS’ 100th event in the Electric Ballroom. One thing for sure though is that Hauser will have to overcome some serious odds if he plans on leaving with the gold.

Jeff Hardy Loves Life Again After Finding Sobriety

0

Jeff Hardy has seen his fair share of demons, issues that have often cost him in his wrestling career. Speaking to the Outside the Ring podcast, Hardy reflected on how these personal issues continue to resonate in his daily life.

“When I think about my issues in my personal life with drugs and alcohol, naturally, a lot of shame and guilt.”

Jeff addressed how these issues harmed his professional life, recalling a 2003 push in WWE that saw him work with The Rock in the ring. Despite this push, Jeff would be let go from WWE shortly after as he was unable to deal with his substance issues at the time.

Jeff has been incident free since his June 2022 arrest, one that would cost him dearly during his run in All Elite Wrestling. Looking back, Jeff believes that his struggles may have inspired others in their own lives.

“I think it’s helped in the long run because I think it was just the journey I was meant to live, man. Because when you just think about people that I have helped that I’ll I’ll never meet in my lifetime, it just because I know there’s a lot a lot of people that really care and love me for who I am and what I do and respect all that stuff.”

For Jeff Hardy today, his priority is firmly on his wife and their children. Beyond that, Jeff has been able to find new passions and hobbies that never would have happened had he not cleaned up his act.

“Three years sober. Yeah. Three. And sobriety is like my motocross track for example, man, I would have never [made that] if I hadn’t got sober again. I would have never finished that. I would never talk about finishing a waterfall and building a waterfall… if I was still drinking and drugging. So, I’m just so glad to be in love with life again.”

Today, fans can find Jeff Hardy on TNA programming, where he and his brother continue to entertain fans. For the Charismatic Enigma, it thankfully appears that his personal struggles are finally in his past.

Becky Lynch Wants Nattie Neidhart Ahead of Title Match

0

WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch will put the gold on the line against Natalya during the August 18, WWE Raw. For Lynch, she doesn’t just plan on retaining, but hopes to beat the most vicious side of the Canadian veteran.

On Instagram, Lynch demanded that her oppenent “bring this version of Nattie,” adding that “I’m sick of Natalya.” Outside of WWE in promotions like AAA and Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, Natalya has worked as Nattie Neidhart and shown a violent side rarely seen by her in WWE. Natalya/Nattie didn’t hold back in the comments, telling Lynch “You don’t get to dictate who the F*ck I am.

For Natalya, she has a chance to capture her first taste of singles gold in close to a decade. Her last singles title reign saw her hold the SmackDown Women’s Championship for a couple of months in 2017. Natalya won the title from Naomi at that year’s SummerSlam and her reign was ended by Charlotte Flair.

As for Lynch, she’s in her first reign as Intercontinental Champion, a title she doesn’t plan on losing anytime soon. It remains to be seen what side of Natalya fans get in the ring on Raw.

Jeff Hardy Reveals Bucket List of Dream Opponents

0

Jeff Hardy knows that he is in the later stages of his wrestling career, but there’s still some matches that the TNA World Tag Team Champion hopes to have. Hardy appeared n the Outside The Ring podcast, where he named several wrestlers from both AEW and WWE who remain on his bucket list.

“MJF, Orange Cassidy, Roman Reigns. Cody Rhodes actually would be incredible because he’s the biggest wrestler on planet Earth as we speak.”

While Hardy has his eyes on several future opponents, he only wants one for his final ever match. That opponent? None other than WWE’s Tribal Chief.

“A Roman Reigns match would be pretty epic for a last match. All those years he was a champion, just took it to such a different level.”

Hardy was part of AEW for multiple years, though parted ways with the company in 2024. A lengthy suspension meant that Jeff spent much of his ‘All-Elite tenure’ out of the ring, keeping him from some of his dream opponents.

As for WWE, a return could be possible, especially as the Hardys have expressed interest in going back. Whether it’s MJF’s sharp wit, Orange Cassidy’s unique style, Cody Rhodes’ global stature, or Roman Reigns’ sheer dominance—Jeff Hardy is ready for them all.

WWE Revives ECW’s Wrestlepalooza for September 20 PLE

0

WWE is set to bring back the Wrestlepalooza name for its yet-to-be-announced premium live event on September 20, 2025, according to recent reports from WrestleVotes and PWInsider. The event will mark the revival of the former ECW pay-per-view brand and represents WWE’s latest effort to counter-program AEW’s All Out event scheduled for the same date.

Direct Competition with AEW All Out

The Indianapolis-based event will go head-to-head with AEW All Out 2025 at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. This marks the first time a WWE main roster premium live event will air on the same day as an AEW pay-per-view, escalating the competitive landscape between the two wrestling organizations.

Multiple sources confirmed to POST Wrestling that the event will take place on Saturday, September 20, in Indianapolis, Indiana. While the venue hasn’t been officially announced, Gainbridge Fieldhouse appears to be the likely candidate based on recent WWE events in the area.

Wrestlepalooza Legacy Returns

The Wrestlepalooza name carries significant wrestling history, having originated as an ECW event that ran from 1995 to 2000. The most notable iteration aired on pay-per-view in 1998, featuring Shane Douglas defending the ECW World Heavyweight Championship against Al Snow.

WWE’s ownership of all ECW footage and intellectual property makes the revival legally straightforward, while the nostalgic appeal could help differentiate the event from their regular premium live event schedule.

Star Power for the Main Event

Reports indicate the event will feature a marquee matchup between Brock Lesnar and John Cena. Dave Meltzer confirmed this main event on Wrestling Observer Radio, noting that Lesnar’s absence from recent events was specifically to save his return for this Indianapolis show.

The match stems from Lesnar’s surprise return at SummerSlam, where he launched a vicious assault on Cena following the latter’s main event bout. This encounter is positioned as a crucial component of Cena’s 2025 farewell tour.

Strategic Counter-Programming Pattern

This event continues WWE’s 2025 strategy of scheduling shows against major AEW events. Previous instances include:

  • NXT Battleground vs. AEW Double or Nothing in May
  • NXT Great American Bash vs. AEW All In: Texas in July
  • NXT Heatwave vs. AEW Forbidden Door on August 24

The September 20 event represents the most aggressive move yet, using main roster talent rather than the NXT developmental brand to compete directly with one of AEW’s “big four” annual pay-per-views.

Potential ESPN Broadcast Partnership Preview

PWInsider reports that “there has been discussion within the broadcast industry over the last few days that the planned WWE event for Saturday September 20th 2025 could end up airing on ESPN (in the U.S) as a preview of the type of programming the company will bring to that new partnership that officially kicks off in April 2026.”

This would mark a significant milestone in WWE’s upcoming broadcast transition, offering fans and industry observers an early glimpse of how WWE content will be presented on the ESPN platform.

WWE has plans to unveil the new PLE and where it will broadcast sometime this week.

Part of WWE’s Indiana Partnership

The Indianapolis location aligns with WWE’s partnership with Indiana Sports Corp, which began with this year’s Royal Rumble at Lucas Oil Stadium. The deal includes commitments for future WrestleMania and SummerSlam events in the state, along with regular television tapings and live events.

The revival of Wrestlepalooza for September 20 signals WWE’s commitment to maintaining competitive pressure on AEW while leveraging nostalgic ECW branding to create a unique premium live event experience for wrestling fans.

Dominik Mysterio Issues AAA Mega Championship Challenge for Worlds Collide 2

0

Dominik Mysterio has officially confirmed his challenge for the AAA Mega Championship against current champion El Hijo Del Vikingo at the upcoming WWE x AAA Worlds Collide premium live event on September 12.

The announcement comes following interference from AJ Styles in his match at TripleMania XXXIII from Mexico City. Speaking about the situation, Mysterio expressed his frustration with The Phenomenal One’s involvement.

‘Honestly, I am very angry that this old man followed me all the way to Mexico City,’ Mysterio stated, according to Más Lucha. ‘Obviously, Hijo del Vikingo shouldn’t have won, I should be the new Mega Champion.’

Mysterio’s heel character has been generating considerable heat internationally, making him a compelling challenger for Vikingo’s championship.

‘Whatever happens, Hijo del Vikingo, I will see you at Worlds Collide,’ Mysterio declared, setting the stage for what promises to be a marquee attraction at the collaborative event.

Dominik Mysterio at TripleManía XXXIII: Complete Breakdown

0

Dominik Mysterio’s path to TripleManía XXXIII began with a shocking surprise appearance at AAA’s Alianzas event on July 25, 2025. Making his AAA debut in Mexico City, Mysterio stunned fans by attacking both Dragon Lee and El Hijo del Vikingo immediately after their match. Grabbing a microphone after the ambush, Dominik declared his intentions weren’t just to cause trouble.. he came for championship gold.

Before the match, Dominik Mysterio was actually the betting favorite to win the AAA Mega championship, but ultimately we saw El Hijo del Vikingo retaining the title.

At TripleManía XXXIII (August 16, 2025)

The AAA Mega Championship match featured a four-way bout between defending champion El Hijo del Vikingo, Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and El Grande Americano. The match took place at Arena CDMX in Mexico City and was the main event of TripleManía XXXIII.

Dominik Mysterio had the match won before a dramatic interference changed everything. Just as “Dirty Dom” was about to capture the title, AJ Styles made a surprise appearance and hit the Styles Clash on Dominik. This interference allowed Vikingo to hit his 630 senton for the victory, retaining the AAA Mega Championship.

The Mexico City crowd was not happy with the result, booing the defending champion relentlessly to end the show. The interference by Styles clearly frustrated fans who were expecting a title change.

Dominik’s Response

After the event, Dominik broke his silence on Instagram, sharing photos and reels from the match while calling the result a “highway robbery”. His post-match reaction showed his disappointment with how the match concluded due to outside interference.

The interference by AJ Styles extends their ongoing rivalry beyond WWE programming. This global expansion of their feud could lead to more international encounters, with fans already calling for the rivalry to continue in different markets.

The TripleManía XXXIII main event effectively served as both a showcase for WWE’s new partnership with AAA and a continuation of Dominik Mysterio’s character development, even though the title change many expected didn’t materialize due to AJ Styles’ dramatic interference.

Omos Joins AAA Roster After TripleMania XXXIII Win

0

WWE’s Omos captured the Copa Bardahl at AAA TripleMania XXXIII on Saturday, marking his debut with the Mexican promotion. Most significantly, WWE Shop has now released official merchandise describing Omos as an “AAA Superstar” and featuring the AAA logo, indicating his formal addition to the lucha libre roster.

WWE announced the acquisition of AAA at WrestleMania 41, with the deal expected to close in the third quarter of 2025. Reports had suggested WWE was considering sending Omos to AAA to establish him as a “special attraction outside the WWE bubble,” similar to his successful run with Pro Wrestling NOAH earlier this year.

The merchandise description reads: “How will the proud luchadors of AAA Worldwide fare when the 7-foot-3 giant Omos comes to tower over the roster like a skyscraper? Show your appreciation for The Nigerian Giant in this new landscape by grabbing this Omos AAA Superstar T-Shirt.”

During his Copa Bardahl victory, Omos entered at number 13 and dominated the Royal Rumble-style battle royal, ultimately defeating La Parka in the final elimination. WWE Shop has expanded its AAA merchandise line to include multiple TripleMania participants, signaling the company’s commitment to promoting talent across both brands.

The “AAA Superstar” designation suggests Omos will have a regular presence in the Mexican promotion while maintaining his WWE contract.

Rhea Ripley Shows Off New Chest Tattoo

0

WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley surprised fans during a recent live stream by unveiling a striking new chest tattoo. The latest design is a symmetrical black-ink botanical piece that stretches across her collarbones, with mirrored branches framing the neckline in the style of an ornamental laurel. Positioned high on her chest, it highlights Ripley’s collarbones and ties in seamlessly with her existing body art while leaving room for potential future expansions.

This latest addition continues Ripley’s evolution into one of WWE’s most tattooed stars, with her collection now far surpassing the previously reported 20 tattoos. Each piece she wears carries a personal meaning, reflecting her career milestones, family connections, close friendships, and passions outside the ring.

Tribute and Memorial Tattoos

Sister Bond: One of her most emotional tattoos is dedicated to her younger sister Calista, representing their “unbreakable connection.” Ripley explained: “We are sisters for life. It doesn’t matter how far we go in life or what the distance is between us. We’re always going to be there for each other.”

Dog Tribute with Horror Twist: Another sentimental piece combines her dog’s likeness with Terrifier’s Art the Clown, honoring a pet she describes as entering her life “at such an important and emotional time.”

Career Milestone Tattoos

Evolution Date (October 28, 2018): Ripley’s very first tattoo marks the date of WWE Evolution, where she defended her NXT UK Women’s Championship, and also the date of her Riot City Wrestling tryout — what she calls the true beginning of her career.

Matching Tattoo with Toni Storm: Alongside her longtime friend Toni Storm, Ripley has Roman numeral tattoos honoring Evolution 2018, symbolizing their off-screen bond despite their on-screen rivalry.

The “Terror Twins” Matching Tattoos with Damian Priest

In 2025, Ripley and Damian Priest took their real-life friendship to the next level with multiple matching tattoos, dubbing themselves the “Terror Twins.”

August 2025 – SummerSlam Statue of Liberty Skulls: Ahead of SummerSlam at MetLife Stadium, they visited NYC tattooists @toc_tattoo and @10kfoxes_queens for Statue of Liberty–inspired skull designs.

April 2025 – Las Vegas Pieces: Around WrestleMania season, they added another set of matching tattoos in Las Vegas with artist @valdam.ink.

Rhea Ripley’s Signature Body Art

  • Stomach Centerpieces: A central gargoyle flanked by scorpions, which became a fan obsession as she gradually revealed more of the work.
  • Arm Artwork: A detailed snake-and-dagger piece on her right arm, featuring snakes, devil hands, and a broken pinky promise, representing past trust issues. She also has a quirky but sentimental chicken tattoo on her tricep.
  • Leg Collection: Demonic, heavy-metal-inspired designs paying tribute to bands like Suicide Silence and New Year’s Day, as well as a private wolf-and-rose piece on her calf.

From the new chest piece to her matching tattoos with Toni Storm and Damian Priest, every addition reflects an important chapter in Rhea Ripley’s life. Her ink tells a story of career triumphs, personal relationships, and self-expression.

The Rock’s People Elbow Part Of NFL Madden 26

0

The Rock floored countless opponents with the People’s Elbow, which is today one of wrestling’s most iconic moves. Now the attack has moved from the ring to the gridiron as part of Madden ’26. In footage shared online, a member of the New York Giants hits the legendary move as a taunt after finding the end zone.

This isn’t the first connection between WWE and the world of Madden. Brock Lesnar appeared in Madden NFL 06, making him the only individual to have appeared as a playable character in WWE, Madden, and UFC video games. Lesnar’s appearance followed a real-life stint in Minnesota Vikings training camp.

Roman Reigns made an intriguing appearance in Madden NFL 24—but not as a playable character in the traditional sense. Instead, he was included as part of the Reel Deals promotion within Madden’s Ultimate Team (MUT) mode. This allowed players to collect and use digital cards representing Reigns in team-building challenges rather than playing as him on the field.

Whether it be in the ring or on the big screen, The Rock is a true star of entertainment. Now, the Brahma Bull’s presence has reached the world of NFL video games.

Adriana Rizzo Shares Rehab Update After Torn ACL

0

WWE NXT’s Adriana Rizzo recently shared that she is out of action after suffering a torn ACL and meniscus. In a new video shared on YouTube, Rizzo tried to keep positive, though admitted that the injury was “pretty traumatic.”

Much of Rizzo’s video was dedicated to showing her rehabilitation ahead of her surgery. While Rizzo is able to walk around and do some exercises, fans shouldn’t expect her back anytime soon.

“I blew out my knee. Bad… Tore my ACL, meniscus and MCL damage, so it’s going to be a while ’til I’m back wrestling, and I’m back doing anything.”

Rizzo’s video spans the weeks after her initial injury. Despite her in-ring return still being a long time off, the NXT Superstar was feeling positve just two weeks after the initial setback.

“The current update is that I feel pretty good. I don’t have any pain or instability. Nothing crazy.”

Rizzo chalked up her tear as a “freak accident” in training, and showed viewers the moment in which this injury occurred. As fans await the return of the 26-year-old Superstar, Rizzo is doing all she can to remain active and positive.

Konosuke Takeshita Wins G1 Climax, Earns IWGP World Title Shot

0

AEW’s Konosuke Takeshita has etched his name in the history books by winning the 2025 G1 Climax. Takeshita defeated EVIL in the finals of G1 Climax 35 at Ariake Arena, claiming the tournament trophy and a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Despite being a singles match, the bout was anything but one-on-one. EVIL’s House of Torture allies would make themselves known often in the match, aiding their member. Rocky Romero rushed to ringside to help even the odds, while Zack Sabre Jr. physically removed Ren Narita from the equation.

In a post-match speech, Takeshita revealed that doesn’t just want to challenge at Wrestle Kingdom 20—he wants to walk into the Tokyo Dome as champion. Now, Takeshita intends to challenge for the gold, currently held by Zack Sabre Jr. before the January 2026 event.

Takeshita’s victory capped off a career-defining G1 run, and his celebration was punctuated by a live performance from BALLISTIK BOYZ, the group behind this year’s tournament theme song. It remains to be seen if Takeshita can follow up this victory with an even bigger one when he challenges for the title.

WWE x AAA Worlds Collide II Announced for September 12, 2025 in Las Vegas

0

WWE has announced the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide II event for September 12, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The announcement was made during AAA’s TripleMania XXXIII event on Saturday night.

The announcement comes as WWE continues to strengthen its partnership with AAA, bringing together both companies’ unique wrestling styles and fan bases for this crossover event.

John Cena Says He Failed Early Into WWE Heel Run

0

John Cena stunned fans in March 2025 by turning heel, marking Cena’s first official run as a villain in over two decades. In the proceeding weeks, John would explain his heel turn in promos, but believes these didn’t live up to expectations.

Cena’s first post-heel turn appearance came in Brussels, Belgium, though he received a mixed response as many fans cheered the WWE icon. Speaking at Fan Expo Chicago, Cena opened up on what he believes was a failure in Europe.

“I wasn’t upset. No, I failed. Ain’t nothing wrong with that. You can learn from failure, right? I went up there and bombed. S*** happens.”

When asked about the decision to turn heel, John kept coy, saying he would address it after his retirement. Cena made clear he doesn’t want to spoil anything about the remainder of his WWE career, even by accident in interviews.

John has since turned face again and is set to battle Logan Paul later this month. While many fans appreciate Cena giving a heel turn many fans thought they’d never see, the WWE icon is ready to go out as his authentic self.

Mandy Rose Recalls WWE NXT Herpes Outbreak

0

Mandy Rose’s had two runs in WWE NXT, her first as a young star in training and her second as an established Superstar of the ring. Speaking with her husband and former NXT talent Tino Sabbatelli on their Power Alphas podcast, Mandy recalled having to clean the rings early into her WWE career.

“We had to clean the rings in NXT ’cause there was like a— a herpes outbreak, guys. I don’t even know if everyone knows that one.”

Several Superstars were forced to clean the ring, not just to keep things hygenic, but also as a sign of humility early into their careers. For Rose, she believes this approach helped keep talent humble, no matter what success they may have had before WWE.

“This is the beautiful thing too. I get why they do this for most people as well. It’s because there’s always, you know, a bottom. You always have to work your way up.”

Mandy contrasted her early years with WWE’s current developmental approach where talent arrive in various manners. Whether its an indie talent, a huge name from elsewhere, or an NIL signing, Rose believes that newcomers dring her time were expected to set up lights and clean mats.

Cleaning a ring after a herpes outbreak may sound extreme, but for Mandy and her peers, it was simply part of paying dues. For Rose, who hasn’t wrestled since WWE, it was all a lesson in keeping herself humble in the massive promotion.

Sami Callihan Is Ready After TNA Wrestling Retirement

0

Sami Callihan retired from in-ring competition at TNA Emergence, after losing a brutal Baltimore Street Fight to Mike Santana. Taking to X, Callihan gave a statement, sharing gratitude for what has come and excitement for what’s next.

According to Fightful Select, the former TNA World Champion has been struggling physically following a string of serious injuries. In addition to that, Callihan has been “helping out behind the scenes a lot lately.” When not working for TNA either on or off screen, Callihan promotes the Pro Wrestling Revolver promotion.

Callihan received a fitting send-off during the show by the crowd as well as those backstage. While many wrestlers lined up to pay respect, Eric Young disrupted the moment, blaming Joe Hendry for TNA’s issues. This earned a response from Hendry, teasing a future feud. As for Callihan, he had a message for the fans after the event.

For Callihan, though, this was a send-off after an impressive in-ring career both in and out of TNA. Whatever comes next, Callihan is dedicated to giving his all, even if it won’t be within the squared circle.

Rey Mysterio: I Will Bring Alberto El Patron Back

0

Alberto El Patron will make a return to WWE, if Rey Mysterio has anything to say about it, despite the former World Champion’s bad blood within the Sports Entertainment giant. Appearing at WWExAAA Worlds Collide, Mysterio responded to the fans chanting for Alberto. In Spanish, the WWE Hall of Famer told the crowd “I’ll bring him, wait on me.”

Mysterio’s bold claim comes in spite of WWE’s attitude to El Patron. WWE reportedly never has plans to bring back Alberto, who was released in 2014 and 2016. At the time of the acquisition of AAA, WWE distanced itself from Alberto, then the AAA Mega Champion. WWE did not feature El Patron following the acquisition and quickly had him lose the title to El Hijo del Vikingo.

El Patron and Mysterio have an established past, as Rey was Alberto’s first opponent upon his WWE arrival in 2010. Now, fans can expect the pair to fight again in a WWE ring, if Mysterio has his way.

WWE’s Omos returned to action at AAA Triplemanía XXXIII, winning the Copa Bardahl Battle Royal to open the event.

This marked Omos’s first WWE-related appearance since the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April 2024. After sitting out the remainder of 2024, he competed for Pro Wrestling NOAH, winning the GHC Tag Team Championships before relinquishing the titles.

During the battle royal, Omos delivered a memorable moment by dropping Microman with a big boot, highlighting their dramatic size difference. The match came down to a final four of Omos, Mecha Wolf, La Parka, and Octagón Jr., with Omos ultimately defeating La Parka in the final two.

The victory at Mexico’s premier wrestling event demonstrates Omos’s continued value as an international attraction while exploring opportunities outside WWE programming.

How Hulk Hogan’s Funeral Helped D-Von Dudley Bury The Hatchet

0

D-Von Dudley spent several years in TNA Wrestling under Dixie Carter’s leadership. While there were some issues between the two sides, they became a thing of the past during the funeral of Hulk Hogan.

Speaking on Duke Loves Rasslin, Dudley said the ceremony was bittersweet. While he was grateful to reconnect with many he’s worked with, he was sad that it took the death of a wrestling icon to put them in touch. For D-Von, the ceremony was his first face-to-face with Carter since his exit from TNA.

“We had said little things to each other here and there in texts and comments on posts about the kids and stuff. Other than that, we really hadn’t seen each other in a while.”

Dudley admitted that any hard feelings he once carried toward TNA had faded away. Instead of letting long-standing issues simmer, D-Von meeting Carter again gave him the closure he needed.

“The hard feelings that I might have had for the company during that time were all washed away, you know? It was the old regime that I had problems letting go of my feelings with.”

With a fresh mindset, D-Von can look back on his time working under Carter more favorably. Reuniting with her helped D-Von move on from what he felt was an unceremonious exit from TNA over a decade earlier.

“I was able to finally let go when I saw Dixie, and we talked, we laughed, we joked, and we said, you know, it shouldn’t take things like this to bring us together.”

D-Von will soon return to TNA Wrestling as he and Bubba will challenge the Hardys for the TNA World Tag Team Titles. And when D-Von Dudley next steps foot in a TNA ring, he will do so without the bitterness of the past.
