AEW & Tony Khan Seek Arbitration in Ryan Nemeth Lawsuit

0

AEW & Tony Khan have fired back at a lawsuit from former employee Ryan Nemeth and are intending to force the lawsuit to arbitration. Khan filed a petition on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida seeking to compel arbitration.

In February, Nemeth initiated legal proceedings against AEW, Tony Khan, and CM Punk, filing a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court. The lawsuit accuses Punk of issuing physical threats, Khan of enabling the behavior, and AEW of effectively blacklisting Nemeth from wrestling. Nemeth’s claims include assault, breach of contract, violation of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and deliberate interference with his career prospects.

Nemeth claims that in 2023, Punk assaulted him and faced no reprimand from the promotion. He adds that Punk was responsible for Nemeth losing work in AEW. After Punk was fired from AEW in September 2023, Tony Khan blamed Nemeth, the suit adds, further causing problems for the wrestler in professional wrestling.

With his own AEW career now a thing of the past, Nemeth has since joined TNA Wrestling where fans can see him work alongside his brother Nic (fka WWE’s Dolph Ziggler.) At TNA Sacrifice, the pair turned heel, kicking off an exciting new chapter for the brothers. It remains to be seen how the lawsuit against AEW and Khan fares, but Ryan Nemeth is re-establishing himself in wrestler despite the alleged best efforts of AEW management.

From Titanic to The Lion King: WWE Stars Reveal Movies That Last Made Them Cry

WWE Superstars may be as tough as they come in the ring, but like all people, the wrestlers have a softer side. In a recent video from WWE, Jackie Redmond quizzed the stars on the last movie to make them tear up.

Seth Rollins – Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: Rollins said that the beginning of the movie will tug at the heart of any invested fan. He later shared that the scene where Hermione makes her parents forget she existed in order to protect them was especially devastating.

Bayley – Love & Basketball: While embarrassed to be ousted as a romantic, the Role Model admitted to crying when Monica and Quincy make love for the first time.

Grayson Waller – The Lion King: The Aussie Icon clarified that he teared up at the 1994 animated adaptation of The Lion King. Waller shared that the death of Mufasa was what broke him.

Austin Theory – Spider-Man 3: An emotional fight scene between the wall-crawler and Sandman caused Austin Theory to cry, though he made clear it was only “a little bit.”

Jey Uso – Titanic: James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster caused Main Event Jey to tear up, especially when Rose jumps back onto the sinking ship, giving up her safety so she can be with Jack.

Karrion Kross – Milo & Otis: The 1986 Japanese adventure about the friendship of an orange tabby cat and a pug drew a tear or two from the former NXT Champion. Marley & Me is another film that gets the better of the usually twisted Kross.

Some Superstars shared that they don’t cry at movies including the Creed Brothers as well as Maxxine Dupri. Though these stars couldn’t be moved, don’t be surprised to see a WWE talent get weepy if you spot them at the cinema watching a particularly emotional movie.

Lilian Garcia Announces SmackDown Exit, Future WWE Role

0

Lilian Garcia returned to WWE in late 2024 as the replacement for Samantha Irvin. In January 2025, Garcia was moved to SmackDown but now her time with the blue brand has come to an end.

On Instagram, Garcia shared that the March 14, edition of WWE SmackDown would be her final show as a full-time ring announcer for the blue brand. However, Garcia will continue to serve as the ring announcer for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event shows, giving the events an added dose of nostalgia. Garcia will also sing at certain events and added that she is working on other show ideas.

It’s fitting that Garcia’s final SmackDown came in Barcelona, Spain, given that her singing career began when she was a child in Madrid. Garcia joined WWE in August 1999 and just weeks later, fell victim to a figure-four leg-lock by Jeff Jarrett, who was an on-screen misogynist at the time.

After a decade, Garcia left WWE in 2009 but returned the following year to fill in for Justin Roberts. Garcia’s second full-time run with WWE began in December 2011 and ended in 2019. Now, fans will continue to be a part of WWE programming, though it remains to be seen who will fill in for her as the ring announcer for SmackDown.

The Street Profits Are Just Getting Started After WWE Tag Title Win

0

On the March 14, edition of WWE SmackDown, the Street Profits captured the WWE Tag Team Championships from DIY, marking the Profits’ first reign as champions in years. Speaking in a WWE Digital Exclusive, Angelo Dawkins said that watching a soccer game pitting Real Madrid versus Atletico Madrid helped motivate him for the tag team match.

“Watching their resilience on the pitch was something special. It motivated me to come out here and put on a show, especially in Barcelona.”

Montez Ford was unsuirprisingly thrilled to once again be a champion, and shared that there’s still work to be done for himself and Dawkins.

“All week, we’ve been talking about job’s not finished, job’s not finished. But guess what? Job’s just started. We’re the new WWE Tag Team Champions.”

Dawkins wrapped things up by saying the pair won’t be losing the titles anytime soon and had some words of warning to any teams that plan on taking the WWE Tag Team Titles.

“Any team that want to get in our way, try to get a shot at these titles, we putting y’all in the dirt, ten toes down. Street Profits, bar none, fade all, we want the smoke.”

The Street Profits have now reached the top of SmackDown’s tag division, a stacked group which includes DIY, the Motor City Machine Guns, Los Garza, Pretty Deadly, and others. With gold around their waist once more, fans can expect a lengthy run for the Profits if the new champions are to be believed.

Axiom Shares Mixed Feelings After WWE SmackDown In Native Spain

0

On the March 14, edition of WWE SmackDown, NXT Tag Team Champion Axiom was able to compete in his native Spain against World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER. In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Axiom admitted to having mixed feelings about the match and focused on the negatives first.

“I feel like I let my entire family down, I feel like I let all my friends down. I feel like I let my tag team partner down tonight.”

Axiom’s tag-team partner Nathan Frazer said that he was proud of Axiom, no matter the loss, but would’ve liked an invite to be at ringside. Axiom then explained that, despite the loss, he felt a lot of positives on SmackDown.

“I felt loved. Tonight, I felt hope, hope that one day, I will step back in that ring, and I will claim that championship, that one day, I’ll step back in that ring, and I will defeat GUNTHER.”

Losing to GUNTHER is the latest setback for Axiom and comes after he and Nathan Frazer lost to The Hardyz at WWE NXT Roadblock. While this week may have been ‘mixed’ for Axiom, the Spanish Superstar is ready to use this show as motivation for a bigger, brighter future in WWE.

Tyler Breeze Says He Wants To Wrestle On TV Again

0

Tyler Breeze says he still loves wrestling and wants to be back doing it full-time.

The former NXT star has stayed active in the wrestling business since his WWE release in 2021. He has signed a new contract with the company as the co-host of the UpUpDownDown channel in addition to running his own wrestling school. He has been taking classes in the Performance Center as well.

Breeze’s own career as a performer seems to have suffered because of it, however, and the wrestling veteran has only competed in 20 matches for different indie promotions since his WWE departure in 2021.

During a recent interview with Gabby Laspisa, Tyler Breeze was asked if he misses being an active performer. Replying to it, the former Champion noted that he never intended to halt his own career for this long but his other responsibilities led to him neglecting his run as a performer. According to him, he’d be open to signing a full-time contract again if someone offers him one:

“Do I enjoy the wrestling aspect of it still? Yeah, 100 percent. I’m still having matches here at the school because I like the wrestling aspect and like you said I can still do it. So we’re not to a point where I’m going, ‘Ah, I don’t really want to do this anymore.’ I would love to do this. I would love to do this full-time. It’s just a matter of someone wanting you to do it full-time,”

Don’t See Why I’m Not Doing It: Tyler Breeze

When asked what role he envisions himself in if he signs a deal, Tyler Breeze said that he’s happy to do whatever a promoter asks him to do. Later in the interview, the 37-year-old was asked about his personal goals in 2025. Breeze reiterated that he would like to be back wrestling on TV:

“Personal goals? I want to be back on TV wrestling. So wherever that happens to be, I would like to continue to wrestle because I am still able to, and I don’t see why I’m not doing it. So I would like to do that. That is probably my immediate goal, is to be back on TV wrestling,”

Tyler Breeze’s wrestling school partner Shawn Spears also made his return to NXT last year and he’s been featured regularly on TV since then. You can check out what Spears said about his retirement here.

Matt Hardy Teases Future WWE Plans After Roadblock Victory

0

Matt Hardy says the Hardy Boyz are done with NXT for now but not with WWE as a whole.

The legendary duo returned to the WWE last month after a long time as part of NXT’s deal with TNA. Their return led to the current TNA Tag Team Champions successfully defending their titles against NXT Tag Team Champions Axiom & Nathan Frazer at the Roadblock special this Tuesday.

The Broken One talked about their NXT excursion on the latest episode of his podcast. When asked if he’d like to ‘run it back’ with Fraxiom after their Roadblock encounter, the wrestling veteran replied positively. Matt Hardy then noted that their NXT run is wrapped for now but they still have some stuff with WWE coming up:

“As of right now, our little run with NXT is wrapped. We do have some stuff on our schedule to do with WWE a little later on down the road. Nothing specifically with NXT yet, but… Just stuff, I’m gonna leave it at that right now. We have stuff lined up with WWE.”

Matt Hardy didn’t specifically reveal if he’s talking about a main roster run but there have been reports suggesting that the company has considered them for the same in recent times.

The former AEW star also reiterated that the win over the current NXT Champions should earn them the right to challenge for the titles. He said that the Hardys would love to have the NXT tag titles on their resume.

Watch: What Happened With Cody Rhodes After SmackDown From Spain Went Off Air

0

Cody Rhodes competed in a dark match after tonight’s episode of SmackDown from Olimpic Arena in Barcelona, Spain went off air.

The Undisputed WWE Champion had been advertised for a Miz TV appearance on tonight’s show. This segment, however, turned out to be a brief one after Miz interrupted Cody’s entrance, stopping him from doing his signature ‘woah.’

Rhodes did not take this interruption lightly and he ended up attacking the A-Lister. After taking out The Miz, Cody then declared that he did not want to talk to anyone not named John Cena.

What Happened After SmackDown

This wasn’t the last time these two saw each other during the night, however. They met once again for a dark match after the main event of the show where Street Profits defeated DIY to become the new Tag Team Champions.

The two stars had some fun at the start of the bout with a spot inspired by Bullfighting that Spain is famous for. In the end, Cody Rhodes picked up the victory using a Cross-Rhodes.

The American Nightmare will get the chance to finally confront John Cena after his Elimination Chamber heel turn this Monday on Raw. The episode of the show coming live from Brussels will have a special start time of 3 pm ET/12 pm PT.

WWE Teases 2 New Arrivals With Mystery Vignettes on SmackDown

0

WWE aired not one but two mystery vignettes on this week’s episode of SmackDown from Olimpic Arena in Barcelona, Spain, teasing the arrival of a couple of interesting names.

The first of the video packages showed a masked superstar working the ropes with several shots of lightening indicating the fast-paced action he’ll be bringing to the table with him:

This footage is believed to be teasing the debut of Rey Fenix who was finally released from his AEW contract earlier this month.

The belief is that Fenix will be joining his brother Penta upon his debut on AEW and reforming the tag team which has won championships in every company they have competed in including AEW, TNA, MLW and more.

Dark vignette Teases Return of Former Champion

The second vignette is much harder to dissect however as it only features the sound of some footsteps and shows the number 4 with smoke running through the screen before darkness ensues:

While not confirmed, many have speculated that this could be the teaser for the return of former NXT Champion Aleister Black.

The Dutch professional wrestler has been part of the AEW roster since 2021. He joined the company after getting released from the Endeavor-owned promotion as part of the COVID-era budget cuts.

Black has reportedly already finished up with the promotion and he is expected to become a free agent sometime before March, if he hasn’t done so already.

The promos do not give us an idea of when or where these two names will actually make their first in-person appearance but the shows post WrestleMania would be an ideal spot to introduce them on WWE programming.

Jade Cargill Says She Saw Naomi At Parking Lot Attack

0

On the March 14, edition of WWE SmackDown, Jade Cargill discussed the attack on her by Naomi in November 2024. When asked how she knew Naomi was the attacker, Cargill recalled seeing Naomi running away after she was pushed onto a car.

“She didn’t just attack me physically, she attacked my integrity, loyalty, and heart.”

Naomi has claimed that she attacked Jade for herself and Bianca Belair, stating that Jade was using them to push herself to the top. Jade rejected the reasoning Naomi came up with to justify the attack.

“Thinking I need to use anyone to get to where I’m going [is ridiculous.] As if I need a handout.”

Cargill added that it’s now time for her to take matters into her own hands after seeing Belair team with Naomi. The segment was interrupted by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. A war of words culminated with a match between Liv and Jade being set for next week.

While Bianca Belair’s WrestleMania direction is clear, a match has yet to be confirmed for Cargill. Currently, signs point to Cargill and Naomi battling in Las Vegas, if WWE can hold off having the match before then. Whatever is planned, Jade is ready to take revenge on those who have wronged her now that she’s going solo as part of WWE’s roster.

TNA World Champion Joe Hendry Reveals Role In Video Game

0

Joe Hendry has taken the wrestling world by storm, and now the TNA World Champion is entering the video game world. On social media, Hendry confirmed that he will be part of a video game soon and promised details in the near future.

Hendry didn’t specify what game fans will see him in though many believe he will be a part of WWE 2K25. With the partnership between WWE and TNA Wrestling going strong, fans believe that it’s just a matter of time before Hendry becomes an official character. Hendry or no Hendry, WWE 2K25 will see a TNA factor as Abyss has been confirmed for future DLC.

Hendry has established himself as one of wrestling’s most popular stars in recent years. At the TNA Sacrifice pay-per-view, Hendry will be a part of a huge ten-man steel cage tag-team match. The TNA World Champion will team with Matt Hardy, Elijah, Leon Slater, and Nic Nemeth to face The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, and JDC) and The Colons (Eddie Colón and Orlando Colón) (with Alisha Edwards)

Hendry has already made an impact in WWE with memorable appearances in NXT and the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match. With the Scottish star set to arrive in the video game world, fans will soon to get much more from the reigning TNA World Champion.

Update on Killswitch AEW Return Plans

0

AEW star Killswitch (Luchasaurus) has been away from AEW shows after dealing with serious health issues in the Fall last year. Now, an update has emerged on his return.

Fightful Select has shared an update on Killswitch’s return plans. It stated that Killswitch was backstage at Sunday’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view. There have been talks backstage regarding how he will be used on the show. There was also rumors of an “alternate ending” to AEW Revolution which never materialized.

The aforementioned plans couldn’t be confirmed but the outlet said that their source noted that the 40-year-old star might have been planned to be involved in that. Fightful also asked AEW about Killswitch getting involved in this alternate ending to AEW Revolution but “things went very quiet”.

Jon Moxley and Cope battled for the AEW World title in the headliner of AEW Revolution. The match turned into a three-way by the end as Christian Cage cashed in his guaranteed AEW World Title opportunity. Despite the odds stacked against him, Moxley managed to retain his title by choking Christian out.

Last year, Killswitch was hospitalised with double pneumonia and said to just be days away from permanent lung damage. Despite the severity of the health issue, a recent backstage update stated that Killswitch was “close” to a return. His last match in AEW took place during the Casino Gauntlet match at All In London 2024 in August. We will now have to wait and see what the future holds for him.

Jey Uso: I Would Like To Go Toe To Toe In A Promo With The Rock

0

Jey Uso has the opportunity to become a World Champion for the first time in WWE when he challenges World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER at WrestleMania 41. A victory would solidify his status as a top-tier competitor and cement his place in the main event scene.

Beyond his championship aspirations, Uso has another personal goal—sharing the ring with The Rock, though not in a wrestling match. Speaking with the Daily Mail, Uso revealed his desire to go head-to-head with The Rock in a promo segment to test his skills on the mic.

“I want to get in there. I would like to go toe-to-toe in a promo with him. I know The Rock is good like that, but I feel like I’m new school with mine, I’m really in it. I’m really out there like that. Rock is very believable. He can be entertaining and all that, but I feel like I can bring some different kind of emotions from The Rock—family always hits different. I didn’t know I could do it with Roman, with my brothers, so I would like to test those waters.”

Regardless of where his match against GUNTHER falls on the WrestleMania 41 card, Uso is determined to deliver a performance worthy of his “Main Event Jey” moniker. Perhaps, 2025 will be the year that he gets it done.

The announcement comes after a historic Backlash in 2024, which set a record for the largest gate of any arena show in WWE history. That event, held at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France, played to a sold-out crowd.

Tickets for Backlash 2025 will be available starting Friday, March 21, at 10 a.m. CT through Ticketmaster.

WWE Reportedly Closing In On Jeff Cobb and Rey Fenix Signings

0

WWE appears to be making significant moves in the free agent market, with multiple sources confirming the company’s strong interest in two international wrestling stars: New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Jeff Cobb and former AEW sensation Rey Fenix.

According to reports we’ve independently verified, WWE has been actively monitoring both performers, with negotiations potentially at an advanced stage. These acquisitions would represent WWE’s continued strategy of bringing established international talent.

Jeff Cobb: “The Hawaiian Juggernaut”

Jeff Cobb, 42, has been turning heads in New Japan Pro Wrestling as a key member of the United Empire faction. Known for his incredible strength-to-agility ratio, the former Olympian has been advancing through the 2025 New Japan Cup tournament, most recently defeating Tetsuya Naito in a hard-fought contest. Fightful was first to report he’s on WWE’s talent acquisition short-list.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Cobb himself recently hinted at a potential departure from NJPW, stating in a post-match interview: “Maybe it’s time to take my bags and go somewhere else.” The comment was made just last month following a loss to El Phantasmo in a NJPW World Television Championship match at the NJPW Road to the New Beginning event on February 3, 2025.

Cobb’s impressive resume includes:

  • Former NEVER Openweight Champion
  • Two-time IWGP Tag Team Champion with Great-O-Khan
  • Former ROH World Television Champion
  • Former PWG World Champion
  • 2004 Olympic Games competitor (representing Guam)

His signature “Tour of the Islands” finisher—a devastating seated falling powerslam—has become one of the most feared moves in New Japan. The combination of amateur wrestling credentials, legitimate strength, and surprising agility makes Cobb an attractive prospect for WWE’s main roster.

Rey Fenix WWE Signing: Lucha Brothers Reunion Possible

In what could be an even bigger acquisition, Rey Fenix negotiated his release from All Elite Wrestling and is now a free agent. Several reports suggest Fenix is expected to officially join WWE imminently, with some claiming a deal is already in place.

Fenix, widely regarded as one of the most innovative high-flyers in professional wrestling, would bring his acrobatic style to WWE’s increasingly diverse in-ring product. His departure from AEW comes as a significant surprise to many fans who considered him a cornerstone of the company’s tag team division.

Speculation is growing that WWE may be planning to reunite Fenix with his brother Penta as The Lucha Brothers, a tag team that captured championships in multiple promotions including AEW, AAA, and Impact Wrestling.

WWE Free Agent Signings Transform Global Talent Strategy

These potential signings reflect WWE’s continued focus on diversifying its roster with established international stars who bring different in-ring styles and global fanbases.

If confirmed, these acquisitions would continue WWE’s recent pattern of signing established stars from competing promotions, following in the footsteps of AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Penta and others.

What This Means for NJPW and AEW

For New Japan, losing Cobb would represent another significant departure from the United Empire faction, which has already seen leader Will Ospreay depart for AEW last year. The timing is particularly challenging as Cobb remains active in the prestigious New Japan Cup tournament.

AEW’s potential loss of Fenix follows several high-profile departures over the past year and removes half of one of the company’s most decorated tag teams. This leaves questions about the future of Penta, Fenix’s brother and tag team partner, who reportedly remains under contract with AEW.

What’s Next

While WWE has not officially confirmed either signing, the wrestling world will be watching closely in the coming days for any developments. Cobb is scheduled to continue his New Japan Cup tournament run this weekend, while Fenix has been absent from AEW programming for several weeks.

We’ll continue to monitor this developing story and provide updates as more information becomes available.

‘A Sh*t Move’: Steve Austin Regrets Major WrestleMania Moment

0

Steve Austin has reflected on one of his most interesting WrestleMania moments.

The WWE Hall of Famer recently had an interview with Sports Illustrated. During the talk, he was asked about John Cena’s heel turn at Elimination Chamber and what advice he would give to the Cenation Leader.

Responding to it, the Attitude Era star recalled his own failed heel turn from WrestleMania 17. Steve Austin said that he loved being a heel early in his career, but making the turn at the height of his popularity was a wrong move:

“I loved working heel when I was in WCW. I loved working heel when I first came into WWE, because that was a true heel. When I turned heel at what WrestleMania 17, the people didn’t want me to turn heel. It was a force to turn.

It was my idea. Vince always likes to do something big on a WrestleMania. So, I suggested that. And he said, okay, but it was a s**t move. People weren’t ready for it. People didn’t want it.”

Should Have Never Done That: Steve Austin

Stone Cold Steve Austin challenged the Rock for the WWF Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 17. The bout saw Austin winning the title with help from Mr. McMahon, turning heel in the process. The Texas Rattlesnake altered his character a lot in the following months. This change, however, was not well received by fans and Austin ended up turning face again only a few months later.

Looking back at it, the WWE legend believes that he tried too hard. While he got to push the creative envelope very far, he does not have any advice for John Cena because the end result of his actions was not very favorable:

“When I look back at it, sure, I got to push the creative envelope and do a lot of things that were cool or whatever, and, you know, push the envelope in a different direction and go out on a limb.

But, people didn’t want me to turn heel, and so I should have never done that. So, I don’t think that I’m in a position that I need to offer John Cena any advice from Steve Austin.”

Apart from this, Stone Cold Steve Austin also talked about his WrestleMania 38 match with Kevin Owens and revealed the one regret he has about the bout. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

BJ Ray Makes Bold Claim About Controversial WWE LFG Moment With Bubba Ray Dudley

0

BJ Ray has made an interesting claim about his confrontation with Bubba Ray Dudley.

The 25-year-old is one of the rookies competing for an NXT contract in the WWE LFG series. Ray, who is part of Dudley’s team was involved in a controversial moment during the 4th episode of the reality show. BJ had been sitting with special guest Eric Bischoff. Something about this scene made the Attitude Era star go off and he ended up shoving the young star after a verbal confrontation.

The LFG rookie was asked about this moment during a recent interview with Shak Wrestling. He claimed that he was just trying to explain the show to Bischoff. According to BJ Ray he also didn’t understand why Bubba Ray got so mad at him at the time:

“Yeah, so I’m what they would say a team player, right? And I’m a little bit of a businessman. So I just so happen to be in the room at that time and I saw Eric up there. Bubba had asked, he wanted my help with the team in the previous episode that you saw. So I saw Eric up there and I decided to go up there and chat him up a little bit, kind of tell him who’s who, what’s going on. Bubba didn’t like that.

I was like…first of all I didn’t understand why he was mad. I mean isn’t that where the legends belong? But yeah, Bubba just got big mad for real dude. He got super mad and all of a sudden, I was just like yeah bro whatever kind of giving him one of these [hand gesture]. I go to turn around and bro just decides to attack me and shove me out of nowhere.”

Gotta Protect Their Legends: BJ Ray

BJ Ray also made an interesting claim about the whole situation. According to him, there were parts of the confrontation that were excluded from the show in order to protect the image of the wrestling veteran:

“Low-ki I was just dying. I was like bro there’s no…in my head I can’t lie to you bro I’m always kind of like a troll in the back of my mind and I find things hella funny. So when it was all happening, I was low-key kind of like ‘Bro, this is actually mad funny.’

But yeah, it was very interesting. A lot of stuff got left on the cutting room floor. I had done something to Bubba that definitely got left on the cutting room floor. They gotta protect their legends, they gotta make them look good. They don’t want to show me big dogging Bubba. And I don’t care to say that. I’ll say whatever I want to say.”

WWE’s Original Post-WrestleMania 41 Plans For Drew McIntyre Revealed

0

Drew McIntyre’s past year has been a rollercoaster, marked by significant highs and lows. Now, his focus is on the future, with a feud against Damian Priest seemingly set to culminate at WrestleMania 41.

According to Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE originally planned for McIntyre to feud with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes following WrestleMania. However, this plan depends on the outcome of the highly anticipated match between Rhodes and John Cena. If Cena wins the Undisputed WWE Title, the McIntyre vs. Rhodes rivalry is unlikely to materialize, as Meltzer believes a Cena vs. McIntyre program is improbable.

Last year, McIntyre won the WWE World Title from Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 41, only to lose it moments later to Damian Priest. He then entered into a heated feud with CM Punk, which concluded in October inside Hell in a Cell. However, in 2025, McIntyre has been through some struggles.

The top WWE star fell short in winning both the Men’s Royal Rumble and the Elimantion Chamber matches. This prevented him from earning the right to challenge for a World Title at WrestleMania. He has only scored a singles win at a PLE or Saturday Night’s Main Event special since August, which was a win over Sami Zayn.

WWE will present the WrestleMania 41 premium live event on Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV.

Drew McIntyre And The Rock Have ‘Pretty Big Things’ In Works

0

Drew McIntyre has teased an upcoming big project with The Rock.

The People’s Champion has always been a believer of the Scottish Warrior. He dubbed McIntyre as the next big thing in a 2018 interview and sent him a sword when McIntyre re-signed with WWE last year.

The Scottish star recently had an interview with Adam’s Apple. He talked about things such as being unhappy with his WrestleMania trajectory, his advice for John Cena after his Elimination Chamber heel turn and more.

The former World Champion also talked about The Final Boss during the interview. Drew McIntyre recalled meeting him at the Elimination Chamber PPV and teased big upcoming projects with the Hollywood star:

“You mentioned it all started with The Rock saying those positive words that you captured in 2018. Re-signing last year knowing where the company was gonna go, The Rock [sending me] that sword. He’s always been on my side.

I got a chance to talk with him just at Elimination Chamber, there’s a few things on the horizon they’re gonna be pretty big once it becomes [public].”

When asked if this thing is something that he can lean into after his wrestling career, Drew McIntyre said “I’m open to pretty much anything that catches my attention, let’s say that.”

The WWE star made his movie debut starring in 2024 action comedy The Killer Game alongside another wrestler-turned-actor in Dave Bautista. So it’s possible that McIntyre is now hoping to extend his presence in the acting world and taking The Rock’s help for it.

Though Drew also shared a private word with The Hollywood star during the Raw Netflix premiere. So it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them reuniting on WWE TV first before joining hands for a non-wrestling project.

‘I’m Pissed’: Drew McIntyre Unhappy With His WrestleMania Trajectory

0

Drew McIntyre is determined to get a WrestleMania moment for himself.

The Scottish Warrior has not been announced for a match at the Show of Shows this year so far. He’s been feuding with Damian Priest which is expected to lead to a Mania match. Due to his incredible work in the past year however, many believe that he deserves to be part of a more prominent program heading into the biggest PPV of the year.

Tiktoker Adam Glyn recently caught up with Drew McIntyre for a quick interview. When asked about his WrestleMania plans, the former World Champion noted that he is pissed at not being involved in the world title picture after his highly praised feud with CM Punk. McIntyre however, promised that he will find a story which people can get invested in:

“It sucks. Because I’m not in a world title match at WrestleMania. I know in 2024 I had people talking about myself and CM Punk more than anybody. I did 90% of that work. Good for Punk for being Punk. Drew McIntyre did the fucking heavy lifting there.

So I’m pissed off to be frank I’m not in a world title match. But I’m gonna make something happen. And between now and WrestleMania, I’ll make sure there’s a big match. I’ll make sure there’s a story people are invested in and I’ll make sure the match is fucking awesome because I’m Drew McIntyre.”

Just Be Yourself: Drew McIntyre

The wrestling veteran was also asked about John Cena’s heel turn and if he has any advice for the Cenation Leader as a fellow bad guy. Drew first corrected the statement saying that he’s very justified in his action before claiming that Cena should just be himself:

“People say to me what it’s like being a heel like right now and I say I’m not a heel. If you listen to what I’m saying, I’m justified. I’m telling the truth.

If you’re in my position and you were treated like I was treated…people have such short-term memories, you look at the story arc, the reality of Drew McIntyre, every action is justified. For John being a heel, like I said a couple of weeks ago, just be yourself John. Show the world the real you.”

The Rock Officially Confirms New Movie Project

0

The Rock has officially confirmed his next movie project.

The Great One was reported to be starring in a movie directed by Martin Scorsese alongside esteemed actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, and Emily Blunt last month.

The Hollywood star made this project official with a new social media post on Thursday, noting that it’ll feature the story of a Hawaiian crime boss ruling his native island in the 60s and beyond:

“Grateful for what’s been the most creatively inspiring time of my career – working closely with my friends and of course, the maestro Marty Scorsese. In the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s the mafia-controlled New York, Miami, Chicago, Vegas, and a particularly strong hold on the island I was raised – Hawaii.”

The Rock has not been seen on WWE TV since the Elimination Chamber PPV earlier this month. He left the wrestling world in shock that night by becoming the catalyst for John Cena’s heel turn.

The Cenation Leader is set to return to WWE programming this Monday on Raw from Brussels, Belgium for the first time since his character change. The show will have a special start time of 3 pm ET/12 pm PT.

The Final Boss on the other hand, is currently not advertised for any shows on the Road To WrestleMania 41 but it’ll be a surprise if he actually ends up missing all events leading up to the PPV.

NXT Champion Makes Surprise Indie Appearance In Spain Ahead of SmackDown

0

A couple of interesting WWE names were in attendance for a Lucha Libre Rebelión event in Spain ahead of the upcoming SmackDown episode.

WWE will be officially kicking off their WrestleMania season European tour with this week’s episode of the Blue Branded show from Olimpic Arena in Barcelona, Spain.

Along with main roster stars, NXT’s Axiom also seems to have made the trip. He made a surprise appearance at the local indie promotion on Thursday. The NXT star wasn’t the only name who was in the building, as Kevin Owens was also spotted in the crowd, enjoying the action:

Born in Madrid, Spain, Axiom currently holds the NXT Tag Team Championship with Nathan Frazer. He is the first Spaniard to compete and win a title in the company.

Before joining the Endeavor-owned promotion in 2019, the high-flying star wrestled for various promotions in American and European independent circuits under the ring name A-Kid. This included indie companies in Spain as well.

This latest appearance from the NXT star makes Friday’s SmackDown even more interesting. WWE bringing him along for the tour suggests that he could be planned for an appearance at the show emanating from his home country tomorrow.

Whether or not Axiom actually makes an appearance on the show will only be revealed tomorrow, but the possibility does make the show more exciting for the local fans.

Damaris Lewis Addresses Fan Backlash Over Revolution Controversy

0

Queen of the Ring star Damaris Lewis has responded to the controversy created by her remakrs at the Revolution PPV this past Sunday.

The acting star was interviewed during the event. She claimed that one thing she learned about wrestling while working on the movie was that wrestlers know they are going to win a match before anyone else. This statement led to an uproar among wrestling crowds, with many targeting Lewis for exposing the business.

Damaris addressed the controversy during a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio. She said that the whole thing did not come out as she had intended:

“First and foremost, I completely take accountability for how it came out. That was not how it was intended. I’m sorry if it came out way wrong. Having a very short time period to think about an answer in the arena, that’s what came out of my mouth.”

I Respect It Fully: Damaris Lewis

AEW star Kamille who also stars in the movie had defended her co-star earlier in the week. Having done many rounds of press with Lewis, the former NWA Women’s Champion explained that she was talking about the resolve of a wrestler to win the match, rather than the scripted nature of the business.

Damaris Lewis explained her comments similarly, mentioning how wrestlers are always telling themselves that they’re going to win. Watching the revolution segment back, she also realized that it didn’t come across as she wanted:

I’ve been saying, because it’s true, because I am incredibly inspired by this sport, you know you’re going to win before you step in the ring, no matter what. It is a sport. It is real.

People are in there, in that ring, doing what they gotta do. It’s tough. It’s dangerous at times. I respect it fully, with my whole heart. I will say it again, I’m so sorry if it came off that way. I know these fans love their sport and were defending their sport. I can’t be mad.”

While Lewis made an appearance at the PPV, it’s curious that her co-star Kamille was nowhere to be seen. A recent move from AEW further suggests that not everything is right between the wrestling star and the promotion. You can check out more details here.
