On March 24 at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, WWE Raw featured a compelling bout between Dragon Lee and the debuting El Grande Americano. Originally, Lee was slated to compete against Chad Gable. However, Gable, citing illness and presenting a doctor’s note to Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, was replaced by El Grande Americano.
The match was intense, with both competitors showcasing their athleticism. The turning point occurred when El Grande Americano, while countering a top-rope maneuver, forcibly removed Dragon Lee’s mask.
Lee scrambled to conceal his identity, providing El Grande Americano the opportunity to apply an ankle lock. With Lee preoccupied, he had no choice but to submit, granting El Grande Americano the victory.
There’s a deep cultural significance of masks in professional wrestling, particularly in lucha libre traditions. Unmasking an opponent is considered a profound sign of disrespect and can have lasting implications on a wrestler’s career.
Alexa Bliss has once again sparked buzz around her WWE future with a subtle yet intriguing social media post that fans believe could signal her involvement with The Wyatt Sicks.
Earlier today, Bliss reposted a photo to her Instagram Stories featuring Jason Baker—the renowned special effects artist behind Bray Wyatt’s eerie visual creations, including The Fiend and the Firefly Fun House. Baker is also rumored to be a key figure in the presentation of The Wyatt Sicks, a mysterious group reportedly led by Uncle Howdy (Bo Dallas), which has yet to debut on WWE programming.
Bliss’s post quickly caught fans’ attention, given her well-documented history with Bray Wyatt. During her time aligned with The Fiend, Bliss underwent a dramatic character transformation that became one of the most talked-about storylines in the women’s division.
Currently, Bliss has been absent from WWE programming since Elimination Chamber 2025 and is not part of the ongoing European tour. The timing of her post has only intensified speculation about a potential return aligned with The Wyatt Sicks faction.
Whether the post was a simple nod to the past or a strategic teaser remains to be seen—but for now, fans are watching closely.

CM Punk suffered a high-profile loss to Drew McIntyre in a Hell in a Cell match at WWE Bad Blood 2024, adding another chapter to their intense rivalry. The match, marked by its brutal physicality, ended with McIntyre standing tall after a grueling battle that underscored the deep animosity between the two competitors.
In a revealing moment, CM Punk was shown crying after the match—footage that will be included in Stephanie McMahon’s upcoming ESPN series, which aims to provide behind-the-scenes insights into WWE’s most personal storylines and rivalries.
“If your dreams don’t scare the sh*t out of you, you need bigger dreams.” Thank you @CMPunk for your inspiration (and of course, the big, sweaty hug!) I’m honored to have you as the first guest of #StephaniesPlaces on @espn+ this Wednesday! @WWE@OmahaProdpic.twitter.com/39tmBCibkm
The ongoing feud between Punk and McIntyre has featured personal attacks and several in-ring confrontations, including McIntyre retaliating against Punk for interfering in his title aspirations. This Hell in a Cell encounter was widely viewed as a climax of their bitter history.
In one of the most shocking upsets in collegiate wrestling history, Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson fell to Wyatt Hendrickson in the NCAA heavyweight championship match on March 22. Hendrickson edged out Steveson 5-4, handing the top-seeded, undefeated star his first collegiate loss since 2019 and ending his pursuit of a third national title.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, Steveson addressed the unexpected loss and offered perspective on his return to the mat after leaving college wrestling in 2022.
“I’m not happy with the result that happened this past weekend,” he said. “But it’s a blessing to go out there in front of the crowd, in front of the biggest stage… I’ve always wanted to go out there and give one last good push for the University of Minnesota.”
Steveson’s comeback was one of the most talked-about stories of the season, and his undefeated run made him a heavy favorite entering the tournament. Despite the stunning loss, he embraced the moment and praised the level of competition.
“I love the show, I love going out there and feeling the jitters, having your heart race, and having a great opponent across from you. Win or loss, the road doesn’t end for me, and I keep going forward,” he said.
While visibly disappointed, Steveson maintained the showman persona he’s long been known for, stressing that respect for the sport and his opponent comes first.
“Win or lose, like I said, I’m always a showman. I go out there, and I turn the crowd up, I show love. If a guy gets his hand raised across from me, it’s respect as always,” he said. “The doors are still opening, and I’m just so happy where I am today and where the future’s going to take me.”
Reflecting further, Steveson made it clear he views the loss not as a failure, but as part of the journey.
“It just wasn’t my time, and I’m cool with that,” he said. “There’s nothing wrong with not having your day… I’ve gone out there and won Olympic gold at the last second. I’ve won two Dan Hodge trophies at heavyweight, which no one else has ever done. Two national titles, three-time in the finals, five-time All-American. My resume stands for itself.”
Steveson concluded with a nod to the physical and mental demands of wrestling and his place in the sport’s legacy.
“It happens. It’s a gladiator sport, and I’m a warrior.”
North Carolina has introduced a new bill titled the “Ric Flair Act,” aiming to explore the establishment of a professional wrestling hall of fame. The proposed legislation allocates $500,000 to examine the feasibility of creating a museum honoring wrestling legends, including Ric Flair.
Filed on March 24, 2025, the bill outlines the use of funds to study the potential for a hall of fame that would recognize the sport’s cultural significance and its deep roots in the state. The museum, tentatively titled the “Ric Flair Hall of Fame” or “Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame,” would pay tribute to Flair’s enduring impact and the many wrestling figures connected to North Carolina.
The project would be overseen by the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, with the research phase serving as a foundation for future decisions. North Carolina’s long-standing association with professional wrestling, coupled with Ric Flair’s iconic status, makes the state a strong candidate to host such an institution.
Flair, widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, has enjoyed a storied career spanning over five decades. His contributions have earned him inductions into multiple halls of fame, including those of WWE and the NWA, solidifying his influence on generations of fans and performers alike.
The study’s findings will guide next steps in determining whether a permanent hall of fame can become a reality in North Carolina.
WWE is reportedly planning a major multi-person match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41. Bron Breakker is currently scheduled to defend his title against Penta on the March 24 edition of Monday Night Raw. Penta, who remains undefeated in singles competition since joining WWE in January, has quickly emerged as a top contender.
The timing of this match was surprising, as it was initially expected to be part of the WrestleMania card rather than taking place on television. Despite this, a new report indicates that ‘Breakker vs. Penta’ will still be part of WrestleMania in a larger title bout.
The Match
According to Fightful Select, WWE’s working plan as of March 17 is to feature a Fatal-Four-Way Match for the Intercontinental Championship. The current lineup includes Breakker, Penta, Finn Balor, and Dominik Mysterio.
It remains unclear who will hold the championship heading into WrestleMania. The report notes that WWE’s plans are subject to change and nothing has been finalized.
Breakker has held the Intercontinental Championship since defeating Jey Uso on October 21, 2024.
Elijah Holyfield, son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield, made his WWE debut on December 10, 2024, during a taping for the upcoming reality show WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats). He faced Anthony Luke in a non-televised match that took place ahead of a live NXT episode.
https://x.com/wwe/status/1903809075718037838?s=46
After initially making his debut in December 2024, Holyfield is now set to make his singles debut in front of a live audience during the Sunday, March 23, 2025 episode of WWE LFG, where he will represent The Undertaker’s team against Anthony Luke from Booker T’s team.
Background
Elijah Holyfield is a 27-year-old former NFL running back who played college football at the University of Georgia. After going undrafted in 2019, he had stints with the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Cincinnati Bengals. His football career ended following a knee injury in the summer of 2022.
WWE confirmed Holyfield’s signing in November 2024, less than a month before his initial in-ring debut. He participated in a WWE tryout in July 2024 before officially joining the company.
Interestingly, Elijah’s father Evander Holyfield has his own history with WWE, having appeared on Saturday Night’s Main Event in 2007 where he defeated Matt Hardy in a boxing match.
Elijah Holyfield joins the tradition of former football players transitioning to successful WWE careers, following in the footsteps of stars like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Roman Reigns.Sources
WWE has confirmed that The Natural Disasters—Earthquake (John Tenta) and Typhoon (Fred Ottman)—will be inducted into the Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Known for their imposing size and dominance in the early 1990s, the tag team left a lasting legacy in professional wrestling.
Formed in late 1990, The Natural Disasters captured the WWE Tag Team Championship in 1992 and held the titles for 85 days. During their reign, they faced top teams such as Money Inc., The Legion of Doom, and The Nasty Boys.
Earthquake, who passed away in 2006 from cancer at age 42, had a background in sumo wrestling and found success in Japan before his WWE run. Typhoon, still active at 68, previously competed under the name Tugboat and was a heavyweight champion in Championship Wrestling from Florida. He is also the uncle of current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
They join an already notable Hall of Fame class that includes Triple H, Michelle McCool, and Lex Luger. Kamala is also being considered for induction, though not yet officially announced.
The 2025 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on Friday, April 18, at the BleauLive Theater inside Fontainebleau Las Vegas during WrestleMania 41 weekend.
Drew McIntyre believes it’s only a matter of time before WWE hosts WrestleMania in the UK. In a recent interview, the former WWE Champion emphasized his long-standing support for bringing the event to British soil and dismissed any notion that others, including John Cena, should be credited for the idea.
Interest in a UK-based WrestleMania has grown in recent years. Cena raised the possibility during a surprise appearance at Money in the Bank 2023 in London, while London Mayor Sadiq Khan has included the event in his reelection campaign promises. The record-setting AEW All In event at Wembley Stadium further demonstrated the UK’s viability for major wrestling shows.
Speaking to The Daily Star, McIntyre said he has always believed such an event was possible:
“These days, I have a very different mindset than what I used to have, in that anything and everything is possible. It’s not just that there’s going to be a big show in the UK at some point. I believe there is going to be a WrestleMania.”
He also made it clear he was among the first to push for the idea.
“If you want your headline, John Cena tried to claim credit for it when we came to London a couple of years back. I said it first that there would be a Mania in the UK before Cena started running around trying to take credit,” McIntyre said. “Drew McIntyre said it first because I know it’s going to happen eventually.”
As WWE continues expanding internationally, a UK WrestleMania appears increasingly likely.
The build towards WWE WrestleMania 41 is heating up as the event approaches including the Intercontinental Title scene. A pivotal match set for tonight’s Monday Night Raw will see a high-stakes showdown between Penta and reigning champion Bron Breakker—an encounter many initially expected to take place at WrestleMania itself.
Fightful Select reports that a week ago, the belief is that WWE’s creative direction has been leaning toward a four-way Intercontinental Championship match at WrestleMania 41. The projected bout would see Bron Breakker defend his title against Penta, Finn Balor, and Dominik Mysterio.
The groundwork for this potential clash has been laid through recent developments: Breakker’s match against Baor, Penta’s direct challenge to the champion, and Mysterio’s ongoing attempts to recruit Penta into Judgment Day, alongside his apparent interest in the title during the Breakker-Balor contest.
WrestleMania 41 is set to take place over two nights, Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. However, WWE’s creative landscape remains highly fluid, with plans frequently evolving. While the reported four-way match remains a strong possibility, the final WrestleMania 41 card could still see adjustments as storylines develop.
Endeavor Group Holdings, parent company of TKO Group Holdings, has officially gone private following a $25 billion acquisition by Silver Lake. This marks the largest private equity public-to-private deal in over a decade and the biggest ever in media and entertainment.
Under the terms, Endeavor stockholders will receive $27.50 per share—representing a 55% premium to the share price prior to the deal’s consideration. The investment group also includes Mubadala Investment Company and DFO Management, LLC.
Despite this transition, TKO Group Holdings—which oversees WWE and UFC—will remain a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. Endeavor continues to hold a controlling stake, ensuring WWE remains under its strategic oversight.
There are no anticipated operational changes at TKO. Ari Emanuel and Mark Shapiro will remain CEO and COO, maintaining leadership continuity. WWE’s day-to-day operations and long-term strategies are expected to proceed without disruption.
The deal provides Endeavor—and by extension, WWE—with greater financial flexibility outside of public market pressures. This could support future investments in content and global expansion. WWE may also benefit from Silver Lake’s tech-focused portfolio, especially in enhancing its digital and media strategies.
As part of the restructuring, Endeavor’s talent and brand representation units will rebrand under WME Group, reflecting a tighter focus on intellectual property and talent management.
Overall, while Endeavor’s privatization is a major industry move, WWE’s operations remain stable, with strong backing and strategic continuity under TKO’s structure.
Royce Adams, the son of the late Brian Adams—best known to WWE fans as Crush—says a WWE Legends contract has been signed in honor of his father. The deal is part of WWE’s latest efforts to recognize the legacy of the iconic tag team Demolition.
The agreement includes rights for merchandise and video game appearances, ensuring that fans can continue to celebrate Demolition’s influence through WWE 2K titles and licensed products. Brian Adams, who joined Demolition in 1990, completed the trio with original members Bill “Ax” Eadie and Barry “Smash” Darsow.
Formed in 1987, Demolition became a dominant force in tag team wrestling throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s. The team’s success helped solidify their place in wrestling history, with many fans advocating for their long-overdue induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Talks of a potential 2025 Hall of Fame nod have emerged, with Demolition among the names being considered alongside notable stars like Triple H and Michelle McCool. However, WWE’s announcement of the Natural Disasters being part of this year’s class make it unlikely.
Beyond WWE, Brian Adams also achieved success in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), further extending his influence across multiple promotions. His son Royce, now a second-generation wrestler, continues to honor that legacy within the industry.
Actor and comedian Adam DeVine, renowned for his role in The Righteous Gemstones, recently shared his enthusiasm for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) following his participation in AEW Revolution 2025. During the event’s Zero Hour pre-show, DeVine and fellow actor Tony Cavalero entered the ring after a match featuring Orange Cassidy, Big Boom AJ, and Mark Briscoe against MxM Collection and Johnny TV. The duo delivered a double chokeslam to Mansoor, eliciting a significant reaction from the audience.
Reflecting on the experience during the This Is Important podcast with co-hosts Anders Holm, Blake Anderson, and Kyle Newacheck, DeVine expressed his newfound appreciation for AEW’s approach to professional wrestling. He described the event as “insane” and noted,
“I liked it more than the WWE events. It’s like the WCW in the late 90s. It’s someone trying to go up against the WWE.”
DeVine was particularly struck by the event’s unfiltered intensity, highlighting the violent cage match between Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher.
“People were bleeding all over the place. Real blood. I’m sitting ringside. Blood is back! It was crazy.”
He recounted moments involving thumbtacks scattered across the ring and high-risk maneuvers from the top of the cage, emphasizing the raw and authentic nature of the performances.
He also praised the women’s match between Toni Storm and Mariah May, describing it as a ““”bloodbath.” Discussing the physical toll on the wrestlers, DeVine recalled:
“Then you go to the back, they were real thumbtacks. He was still picking them out of himself. ‘One is stuck in my heel. I can’t get it out.’”
Beyond the in-ring action, DeVine spoke highly of the camaraderie and hospitality within AEW. He mentioned spending time with Tony Khan, AEW’s owner, stating,
“Tony Khan, the guy who owns it, is whose box I was for the Super Bowl. We went out that night and partied. He’s this totally nice guy who owns AEW. It was fun. It was a blast.”
The Righteous Gemstones is currently airing its fourth and final season on HBO and Max.
Tony Hinchcliffe is set to host The Roast of WrestleMania Featuring Tony Hinchcliffe & Friends, scheduled for Sunday, April 20, at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The closed-door event will be held at the BleauLive Theater and is part of WWE’s WrestleMania weekend festivities.
The lineup will include appearances from several WWE superstars, including Sami Zayn, The Miz, Braun Strowman, and Paul Heyman. Tickets go on sale to the general public on March 21 via Ticketmaster, with an exclusive presale beginning March 19.
Despite online backlash over Hinchcliffe’s past controversial comments—most notably remarks made during a Donald Trump campaign rally from Madison Square Garden —sources indicate WWE personnel have not expressed significant concern internally. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the reaction backstage has been mostly indifferent, with some minor eye rolls but no widespread objection. Hinchcliffe reportedly maintains personal relationships with several people in WWE.
The roast joins a busy WrestleMania weekend lineup that includes SmackDown, the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, NXT Stand & Deliver, The Undertaker’s 1DeadMAN SHOW, and Raw after WrestleMania. WWE’s decision to include Hinchcliffe fits within its broader strategy of expanding its entertainment reach, including recent moves into mainstream platforms like Netflix.
On WWE Raw in Brussels, Jey Uso acknowledged his recent struggles and aimed to refocus in a match against Austin Theory. Before the bout, World Heavyweight Champion Gunther confronted Uso, but officials intervened to prevent a physical altercation.
When the match began, Uso made quick work of Theory, securing victory in under 30 seconds. He then took out both Theory and Grayson Waller with a high-risk dive—nearly botching the move when his feet caught the rope. Despite the slip, Uso regained control and was prepared when Gunther attempted another attack. He got the upper hand, tossing Gunther out of the ring and holding up the World Heavyweight Championship in a statement-making moment.
During the commercial break, a frustrated Waller and Theory challenged Uso to a tag team match on next week’s Raw—if he can find a partner. Now, fans believe they’ve already figured out who that mystery teammate will be.
Will Jey Uso Team Up With a Surprise Scottish Star?
TNA World Champion Joe Hendry, who made a surprise appearance in the WWE Royal Rumble, will be in Glasgow that same night for Mark Henry’s DJ set. Hendry will be live in concert for a special wrestling-themed event, Sweet Chin Disco. Quite a coincidence!.
Fans have connected the dots and suspect Hendry could make his Raw debut alongside Uso. While WWE is likely keeping any potential surprises under wraps until the show airs, Hendry is also not doing a great job keeping the secret a secret.
Now, if we could only figure out who is behind Monday Night Raw’s mysterious new masked luchador:
Chris Jericho faced an unexpected challenger following the March 23 episode of AEW Collision—an eight-year-old fan who stole the spotlight in a viral moment.
After Bandido defeated Johnny TV, he confronted Jericho and The Learning Tree to demand the return of his brother Gravity’s stolen mask. Jericho, wearing the mask, mocked Bandido but was met with a punch that allowed Bandido to reclaim it.
However, the real knockout came moments later in an unaired segment shared by AEW on social media. As Jericho interacted with fans at ringside, a young boy named Axl flipped him off and shouted an expletive.
Jericho fired back, teasing, “I’ve got abs, have you got abs?”—only for Axl to lift his shirt and reveal a six-pack. The interaction left Jericho speechless and quickly went viral, racking up several hundred thousand views on social media.
Axl was later brought backstage, where he posed for photos and had a flex-off with Jericho. According to his father, the two bonded over fitness and wrestling, capping off the playful exchange on a positive note.
The segment even drew a reaction from Mercedes Moné, who joked (?) that she would’ve slapped the kid in the same situation.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has welcomed a new member to his family—a puppy named Rosie Blue Honeybuns Johnson. The energetic addition arrived courtesy of his daughters, Jasmine and Tiana, much to the dismay of their existing dog, Turbo.
In a lighthearted social media video, Johnson shared the family’s introduction to Rosie. However, not everyone in the household was thrilled. Turbo, their French Bulldog, appeared visibly unimpressed, refusing to look at the camera throughout the clip.
The Rock, who is about to begin work on his latest movie project, playfully captioned the post, describing how he and Turbo were adjusting to being further outnumbered in a house dominated by female energy.
“Me and my guy Turbo were doing just fine… Until the girls brought home this little ball of puppy misery and joy kill, named…Rosie Blue Honeybuns Johnson,” he joked.
Despite Turbo’s initial resistance, Rosie seems to be making progress winning over the family patriarch. Johnson noted that Rosie’s snuggles and kisses were already testing his resolve, offering a humorous take on the situation. The Johnson household, which includes his wife Lauren Hashian and their two daughters, has long shared moments of family life online.
AEW is set to commemorate a major milestone as Dynamite prepares to surpass the total number of WCW Nitro episodes, marking a historic achievement in wrestling history.
Tony Khan confirmed that April 16 will feature a special broadcast titled AEW Spring BreakThru, serving as the 289th episode of Dynamite. This officially makes it the longest-running primetime weekly wrestling program in Turner Sports history, outlasting WCW Nitro, which aired 288 episodes before ending in March 2001.
AEW Dynamite debuted on October 2, 2019, reviving wrestling’s presence on the Turner Networks. Its inaugural show featured Cody Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara, Riho becoming the first AEW Women’s Champion, and Jake Hager’s debut alongside Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle. The launch mirrored WCW Nitro‘s September 1995 debut, which famously introduced Lex Luger and ignited the Monday Night Wars.
The April 16 episode will air during WrestleMania week, a period already filled with speculation around Sting and Lex Luger. While some fans hope to see Sting induct Luger into the WWE Hall of Fame, his involvement in AEW’s celebration may take precedence, especially considering his legacy in Nitro’s final match.

WWE is set to hold a European tryout session on March 30, marking its continued commitment to expanding its global talent roster. This upcoming session will feature a more focused group compared to past tryouts in the region, according to Fightful Select.
Among those invited are Rhio, Man Like DeReiss, PROGRESS World Champion Luke Jacobs, Goldenboy Santos, Spanish talent Zozaya, and Adam Maxted, known for his appearance on Love Island.
Rhio has previously tried out for WWE, while DeReiss participated in a TNA Wrestling tryout. Jacobs recently appeared in a WWE SmackDown segment in Barcelona as part of a security team, signaling potential WWE interest.
Two notable names have been ruled out for this session. Michael Oku, a prominent name on the independent circuit, is not expected to be invited. Former wXw Unified World Champion Peter Tihanyi is also unavailable as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury.
These tryouts are part of WWE’s broader initiative to scout emerging talent across Europe through smaller, more intimate evaluations. This approach allows for a focused assessment of performers and reflects WWE’s evolving strategy to diversify and strengthen its talent pool on a global scale.
Drew McIntyre has directly addressed fan criticism regarding his developing rivalry with Damian Priest, a feud that some fans have questioned. The storyline, fueled by Priest’s eliminations of McIntyre in key matches, has faced skepticism from a portion of the audience.
In a recent interview with The Daily Star, McIntyre acknowledged the negative feedback while expressing his commitment to shaping the narrative. He emphasized his dedication to building a compelling story with Priest, aiming to deliver a match that justifies the buildup and resonates with fans.
McIntyre believes the feud has the potential to develop into a significant WrestleMania moment if given the opportunity to unfold naturally. His response reflects both a willingness to engage with fan perspectives and a determination to prove the storyline’s value.
“I appreciated when the fans’ reaction was, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s Priest and Drew, there’s nothing there.’ I’m like, bloody hell, give us a chance to tell the story. The thing with Priest has been going on since last year’s WrestleMania when he cashed in on me after Punk assaulted me.
“He doesn’t know how to succeed unless it is at my expense. At Elimination Chamber, I Claymored Cena. Instead of going, ‘I’ll let Drew pin Cena first,’ he eliminates me. It’s the only way he knows how to succeed—because he is a vulture. A parasite. A big emo vulture.
“Finally, he’s got my attention because they’ve got nothing else. I stomped him in his big, stupid head last week, and if he wants to keep coming back for more, if it goes all the way to Mania, it’s a year-in-the-making story—and he deserves the biggest stage of all to get his stupid-looking arse kicked.”
Naomi is a veteran of the WWE Women’s division and recnetly reached a massive milestone in her career. On X, fka Twitter, a fan pointed out that between FCW and WWE, Naomi has hit 1,000 matches under contract with the promotion. This caught the attention of the SmackDown Superstar who was proud of her achievement.
With a background in dance, including as part of the dance team for the Orlando Magic, Naomi signed with WWE in August 2009. Since then, Naomi has had several major moments and accolades, including:
WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion (2 Times)
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship (2 Times)
WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal Winner (2018, Inaugural)
WWE Year-End Award Winner (2018, Most Underrated Superstar)
Slammy Award Winner (2013, Best Dance Moves of the Year)
FCW Divas Champion (1 Time, Inaugural)
More recently, Naomi has found herself in the spotlight once more after being revealed as the attacker of Jade Cargill. Naomi’s heel turn has seen her be rejected by Bianca Belair who Naomi deemed an “ungrateful b****” on SmackDown. With WrestleMania 41, fans have been left wondering if a showdown with Jade is coming for Naomi, another high-profile match on her storied career.
Hulk Hogan’s standing among wrestling fans has taken a hit in recent years, as seen during Raw’s debut episode on Netflix where he was heavily booed. It turns out that this hostility to the Hulkster isn’t just in the U.S as fans in the UK are no fan of the self-professed ‘Real American.’
On March 23, Joe Hendry and Mark Henry hosted the ‘Sweet Chin Disco‘ in Notttingham, England. While the event was an enjoyable time for the most part, the tone soured at a time when Hogan’s theme song was played. Those in attendance booed the use of Hogan’s theme, resulting in the song quickly being cut and a different theme being played.
This response to Hogan’s theme shows that the dislike for the former WWE World Champion isn’t confined to the U.S. alone, but is instead an international viewpoint. In 2015, Hogan was fired from WWE after racist remarks came to light, including Hogan saying he would be opposed to his daughter dating a black man.
While Hogan was brought back in 2018, many believe Hogan did not make sufficient efforts to make-up for his past. Hogan reportedly addressed the WWE roster upon his return. At the time, it was said that the crux of Hogan’s speech was for wrestlers to be wary about what they say because they may be recorded, rather than reflecting on why racism is wrong.
Hogan hasn’t been spotted on WWE programming since Raw’s Netflix debut though he remains part of the world of politics as a supporter of President Donald Trump. While the Hulkster may continue to make waves in the political world, this disco in Nottigham shows that wrestling fans are still a long way away from forgiving the controversial wrestling icon.
In October 2024, Chris Bey suffered a paralyzing neck injury when competing in a tag-team match at a taping of TNA iMPACT. Since then, Chris has worked hard to regain mobility in a testament to his never-give-up attitude.
On Sunday, March 23, a ‘Beynefit’ was held for Chris featuring talent from WWE, AEW, TNA Wrestling and beyond. In the main event, WWE’s Karrion Kross, accompanied by his wife Scarlett, defeated one of the biggest free agents around, Hammerstone. After the match, the man of the house, Chris Bey made an appearance and was able to walk to the ring.
CHRIS BEY HAS MADE AN APPEARANCE AT FSW TONIGHT AND TOOK HIS FIRST STEPS BACK INTO A PRO-WRESTLING RING!!! ?????? pic.twitter.com/TyRPuTzuue
In his first appearance in a wrestling ring since the accident, Bey expressed his gratitude for everyone who has supported him. Bey explained that, before meeting his partner Brittnie Brooks, wrestling was the only think that he ever truly loved.
“Thank you to all of you for creating this special night where people from everywhere around the world, all companies, all of you can create something so special that’s gonna live in history forever and live in my heart forever.”
Bey didn’t address his future in wrestling, but ended by expressing his love to all in attendance, “even AJ Francis.” Bey singed off by declaring that “I am nothing” without all the wrestlers and fans who continue to support him.
We here at SEScoops would like to continue to wish Chris Bey all the best at this time as well as a full recovery.
