Last Man Standing Title Match Set For WWE NXT Gold Rush

0

The WWE NXT Championship will be on the line in a Last Man Standing match as part of the upcoming two-night NXT Gold Rush event. During the October 28, edition of WWE NXT, Ricky Saints and Trick Williams brawled around the ringside area. WWE NXT GM Ava then confirmed that Saints will put the gold on the line against Williams in a Last Man Standing match.

Saints and Williams faced-off at WWE NXT Halloween Havoc on October 25, where Saints was able to retain the title. Trick is already a two-time WWE NXT Champion, and a third title reign would tie him with Samoa Joe for the most reigns.

This announcement wasn’t the only major title announcement from the latest episode of WWE NXT. During the show, Sol Ruca vacated the WWE Speed Women’s Championship due to injuries. Ava announced that a tournament will crown the next champion, who will be the third in the title’s history.

Williams and Saints have been at each other’s throats, but their story will seemingly end with their Last Man Standing match. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from WWE NXT Gold Rush on November 18 and November 25.

Drew McIntyre Reveals Terrible Gimmick Pitched To Him In First Run

0

Drew McIntyre’s first WWE run could have looked very different.

The former World Champion recently appeared on the No Contest Wrestling podcast. He talked about things such as his upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event match with Cody Rhodes, having a world title run during the pandemic and more.

During the talk, McIntyre was also asked about his ‘Chosen One’ gimmick and if the company had any other plans for him before that. Drew revealed that there were multiple ideas floated around. One of them was for the Scottish star to debut as ‘The Runway Man’, pitched by the then talent relations head John Laurinaitis:

“I was listening to him describe the character and thought, ‘oh no, oh no, oh no.’ Then he went ‘the name, the Runway Man, you’re going to have your own model runway and you’re going to walk down like a model.’ And you’re like, oh my goodness.

I was picturing in my head, basically all my dreams were going to hell. The life’s work of a Scotsman, it was all going down the toilet.”

I Think He Read Me: Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre originally made his WWE debut in October 2007. He wrestled a few matches on the main roster before being sent down to FCW. The wrestling veteran reappeared on SmackDown a couple years later in August 2009. A month later, then WWE Chairman Vince McMahon promoted him on-screen as a future main eventer, which was the origin of his Chosen One gimmick.

Explaining how he managed to avoid becoming The Runway Man instead, McIntyre claimed that Mr. McMahon had seen the trepidation on his face when they went in to pitch the gimmick:

“The next meeting after Johnny was to go to Vince himself and pitch this idea, and I kind of sat silent and Johnny pitched it to Vince, and I think Vince saw my face the whole time.

He just said, ‘what do you think?’ (I was like) ‘Whatever you need me to do; I’ll make it work.’ But I had my head down the whole time. and I think he read me like he doesn’t want to do this.”

Apart from this, Drew McIntyre discussed being released from WWE in 2014 and revealed what he was planning before the company brought him back in 2017. You can check out his remarks here.

WWE Footsteps Mystery Ends With WrestleMania 42 Poster Reveal

0

The WWE mystery regarding recent videos of foosteps is seemingly over with the reveal of a poster for WrestleMania 42. On X, Roman Reigns shared the poster, which includes himself, Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman, and Triple H.

This poster was revealed after a series of videos of people walking. While fans speculated that these videos were teasing the likes of GUNTHER or a returning Chris Jericho, it appears they were building up this poster reveal.

The most recent video shared on Monday Night Raw featured a poker chip with ‘2026’ on it, a nod to WrestleMania 42 in April of next year which will be in Las Vegas, Nevada. One set of foosteps in the teaser videos featured cowboy boots and denim pants, which led fans to speculate that Brock Lesnar would be involved in the reveal.

WrestleMania 42 will be the second WrestleMania in a row to take place from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Stay tuned to SEScoops for all the latest on WrestleMania 42.

Drew McIntyre Reveals What He Was Planning Before 2017 WWE Return

0

Drew McIntyre was ready to go to Japan before his 2017 WWE return.

The Scottish Psychopath recently appeared on the No Contest Wrestling podcast. He talked about things such as his WWE debut as The Chosen One, winning the tag team titles with Cody Rhodes during his first run with the company and more.

The former World Champion also talked about his time away from WWE between 2014 to 2017. Drew McIntyre revealed that after ending his 2-year long TNA stint, he was ready to make the move to NJPW. A conversation with William Regal, however, changed his direction:

“In 2017, when I returned to WWE, I was ready to go to New Japan at that point. That’s where my head was at. I spoke to the right people to start having the serious conversations,

And Regal told me ‘You’ve got to talk to him, talk to Hunter first, go talk to Paul first’, and it was one minute into the conversation, I knew it was time to come back.”

As things stand, Drew McIntyre has wrestled for promotions such as ICW, PWG and more, but he has never made an appearance for New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Since returning to WWE in 2017, Drew McIntyre has had multiple world title runs. He’ll get the chance to extend this record further this weekend when he challenges Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed title at Saturday Night’s Main Event. You can check out the updated card for the show here.

Abdullah the Butcher Recovering, In Great Spirits Amid Latest Health Issues

0

Pro wrestling legend Abdullah the Butcher is doing better after recently being hospitalized due to serious health issues. On October 23, the Book Pro Wrestlers account on X shared that Abdullah was battling “serious health issues,” which had led him to a hospital bed.

In an update, the Book Pro Wrestlers account shared a photo of Abdullah smiling, sharing that it was taken that same day. They added that ‘Abby’ is awake, recovering, smiling, and in great spirits. The account asked fans to continue to pray for Abdullah’s recovery.

This update is great news for fans of Abdullah the Butcher, who has had more than his fair share of health issues. In July 2024, he was hospitalized due to intestinal issues. Chelsea Green Signed Lengthy WWE Contract This Year (Report)

0

Chelsea Green is not going anywhere anytime soon.

The former Women’s US Champion has been a featured face on WWE TV in recent times and a mainstay of the women’s mid-card title picture.

Fightful Select recently provided an update on her contractual status with the company, confirming that the Canadian star signed a new contract with the organization this year.

Chelsea had signed a three-year deal with the promotion towards the end of 2022, before making her surprise return during the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble.

The contract would have originally expired towards the end of this year, but the officials approached her about an extension well in advance.

According to the report, Chelsea Green officially signed a new contract back in January this year. This new deal is of 5 years in length and it will keep the former Knockouts champion with the company atleast until 2030.

This extension was signed very differently from the company’s recent approach, where stars such as Karrion Kross and Santos Escobar have been offered underwhelming deals with very little time for consideration.

Kross ended up leaving the company in August this year after being given only 24 hours to sign the new deal, while Escobar signed a new contract this month, when he was offered a better deal a day after his original one expired.

Wrestling Legend Blue Demon Jr Stable After Car Accident

0

Wrestling legend Blue Demon Jr. is in stable condition following an unfortunate car accident earlier this week.

International Wrestling Revolution Group was first to reveal the news. The 59-year-old was originally expected to compete at their October 30th Castle of Terror event.

Blue Jr. was scheduled to compete in a casket match for the promotion’s World Heavyweight Championship. The company announced on Facebook, however, that the Mexican star will be missing the show due to a car accident.

The representatives of the wrestling veteran provided an update on his health through his official Instagram page after this revelation. They noted that Blue Demon Jr. was involved in a car accident on Monday evening.

Fortunately for the fans, the update confirmed that the former NWA champion is stable and out of danger. He remains in intensive therapy at the moment:

Making his wrestling debut in 1985, Blue Demon Jr. has wrestled for many notable promotions during his long and illustrious wrestling career.

He became the first Mexican wrestler as well as the first masked luchador to win the NWA World Title when he defeated current Raw General Manager Adam Pearce for the championship back in October 2008.

The masked star has reduced his workload in recent times but he continues to be active in the indie circuit across Mexico.

SEScoops wishes a speedy recovery to Blue Demon Jr.

NXT Title Relinquished, Tournament Announced

0

Sol Ruca has lost both her titles in just a few days.

The NXT star who held both the Women’s North American Title and Women’s Speed Title has been out of action for a few weeks due to an undisclosed injury.

Ruca had allowed her tag team partner Zaria to step in and defend the NA title against Blake Monroe at the Halloween Havoc event this past weekend due to her health issues.

The decision, unfortunately, backfired for the high-flying star. Zaria ended up losing her title at the PPV, and the loss seems to have driven a wedge between the two.

Sol Ruca Relinquishes Speed Title

On this week’s episode of NXT, Ava caught up with Sol Ruca and Zaria backstage. She told the Women’s Speed Champion that she wanted her to focus on her recovery but also emphasized that there was no set date for her return to the ring.

When Ava asked if Ruca wanted someone to defend the Speed title for her too, Sol simply decided to relinquish the championship instead, leading to a frustrated Zaria walking out of the frame.

The NXT GM then announced that a tournament to crown the new champion will begin next week, though the participants of it have not been revealed.

Not many details are available about Sol Ruca’s injury, so it’s hard to say how long she will be out of action. In a recent social media post she had said that she was doing everything possible to be back in time for the December 6 Deadline PLE.

Vince McMahon Doctor Withdraws Opposition Motion in Janel Grant Lawsuit

0

Attorneys for Dr. Carlon Colker and Peak Wellness withdrew a motion asking to re-open or clarify a “judgment without trial” in Janel Grant’s lawsuit in Connecticut Superior Court.

Colker was the physician for Vince McMahon. Colker and Peak Wellness are accused of withholding discovery in Grant’s lawsuit against Vince McMahon in federal court. An employee of Peak Wellness was accused of assaulting Grant on company grounds. Colker is accused of refusing to provide medical records and refusing to tell Grant what she was being treated with.

Colker’s attorney Frank Silvestri withdrew his motion to clarify the court’s decision during a livestream hearing on Monday.

Judge David Bothwell ordered the judgement without trial on Aug. 12. Colker filed the motion to re-open judgement on Sept. 10. A judgement without trial would allow for a decision to be rendered before the case makes the courtroom.

Grant’s federal lawsuit against McMahon and World Wrestling Entertainment was stayed on July 1 while the court decides whether to allow discovery prior to an arbitration motion hearing. McMahon and WWE claim the non-disclosure agreement Grant signed after she was fired from WWE would require her to fight her complaint against the company and McMahon in front of an arbitrator and not in court.

Drew McIntyre Reveals Incident With Samoa Joe After Stiff Spot

0

Drew McIntyre’s Claymore Kick is one of the most impactful finishing moves in WWE, but executing it carries risks. McIntyre recently recalled an instance where the move didn’t go quite as planned, resulting in him connecting stiffly with Samoa Joe.

Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, McIntyre detailed the incident which occurred during a Royal Rumble match. He praised Joe’s professional reaction to the hard-hitting move.

“I caught Samoa Joe real bad one time in a Royal Rumble, and to be fair, he didn’t say anything. He’s like a man’s man,” McIntyre explained. “He just pulled me aside and let me know, ‘Hey, brother, you really caught me bad.’”

McIntyre shared remorse over the incident due to his close friendship with Joe, contrasting it with other times he may have hit opponents hard.

“I felt so guilty because Joe’s my boy. He’s my brother,” McIntyre stated. “There are a few guys I’ve caught real hard that I didn’t feel so guilty about. But most of the time, people were good. But I felt really bad about the one to Joe.”

Ric Flair’s Legendary Party Lifestyle Revisited By WWE Legend

0

Ric Flair’s reputation as a “party animal” during his heyday is well-earned, according to fellow former wrestler Barry Darsow. Speaking on The A2theK Wrestling Show, Darsow—known to fans as Demolition Smash and Repo Man—recalled what a typical night out with The Nature Boy was like.

“Oh my gosh! It’s not an easy night, let’s put it that way. When you go into a bar, you better be ready to drink some beer. And it didn’t matter how many people were in there, Ric was the party.”

Flair was never one to hold back when it came to spending money to make the night unforgettable. While many wrestlers on the road tried to save their earnings, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer was known to spend freely—often on complete strangers.

“It’d be nothing for him to spend 3-4-5,000 dollars and buy the bar everything. I don’t know how he did it. I hung around him a lot and he was a character.”

According to Darsow, Flair’s presence could turn any bar into a full-blown celebration, especially when he was back home in North Carolina.

“Especially where he was from down in North Carolina where we lived. Everyone knew him and everything. So it was just a party everywhere you went.”

Now 76 years old and long removed from his days as NWA World Champion, Flair’s wild nights are behind him. Still, the memories—and the legend of The Nature Boy’s larger-than-life lifestyle—remain unforgettable to those who were there.

WWE Hall of Famer Mike ‘IRS’ Rotunda Living In Hospice Care

0

Mike Rotunda, also known to wrestling fans as IRS, is living in hospice care according to those closest to the WWE Hall of Famer. Speaking to Bill Apter, Barry Windham opened up about his brother-in-law’s situation and the death of Mike’s son Windham ‘Bray Wyatt’ Rotunda.

“Mike is in hospice right now. That family, I love that family, but, you know, just so tragic.”

Fellow WWE Hall of Famer Leilani Kai also shared that Rotunda is living in hospice care. On X, Kai asked fans to keep Mike and the Rotunda family in their prayers.

Rotunda is best known for his time in WWE as IRS, but also wrestled as part of The U.S. Express in WWE and other promotions. The tag team was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2024. Rotunda is also a five-time WWE Tag Team Champion, with two reigns coming with Windham and three alongside Ted DiBiase as Money Inc.

Mike’s life has seen ups and downs, with arguably the worst being the death of his son Windham in August 2023 at the age of 36. We at SEScoops would like to share our support to Mike Rotunda.

Killer Kross vs. Matt Riddle Set for MLW’s November 20 Charleston Event

0

Major League Wrestling has announced a match between former training partners Killer Kross and Matt Riddle for the MLW x Don Gato Tequila Live Special on Thursday, November 20 at the Charleston Music Hall in Charleston, South Carolina.

The bout marks Kross’ first MLW appearance in three years. The imposing fighter enters with significant momentum in 2025, having released a critically acclaimed book while becoming one of wrestling’s top merchandise sellers and most sought-after free agents. Kross will be accompanied by Scarlett Bordeaux.

His opponent, current MLW World Heavyweight Champion Matt Riddle, has undergone a dramatic transformation this year. Despite capturing the title early in 2025, Riddle’s year has been marked by controversy and a complete character shift. The once easygoing fighter has rebranded himself as the “Rude Dude,” embracing a darker, more unpredictable persona as his popularity has declined.

Both competitors share a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu background from their training days together in Orlando gyms, setting up a technical showcase between two of the sport’s most dangerous fighters.

MLW President Cesar Duran called it “a fight that blurs the line between respect and rivalry. Once friends, will they still be after Charleston? Not that I care!”

The event will air live on MLW’s YouTube channel and beIN SPORTS at 7:30 PM ET, marking professional wrestling’s return to downtown Charleston for the first time in 32 years. Tickets start at $15 at Ticketmaster.

Shotzi Talks Wanting To Be Face of a Pro Wrestling Company & Future of MLW Women’s Division

0

Shotzi has been booked and busy ever since her exit from WWE. Pro wrestling’s queen of Halloween could be found virtually all over working for some of the most notable independent companies. On top of those dates, she also enjoyed her time at Major League Wrestling.

“They just get the ballsy bad ass,” she said.  “MLW just completely understands me.  I had no idea they would get me this much and bring in my character. Just promos, matches, and the ‘Graveyard Shift,’ and I can tell they brought me in knowing who I am and really appreciating my character work and giving me the most ballsy creative stuff.”

On the “Graveyard Shift”, Shotzi looks to make this segment more than just an October time offering. She has plans to expand on it. “I’m going to push that it is on more shows and not just for the spooky season,” she said.

Shotzi is excited for MLW x Don Gato Tequila live special on November 20. The event broadcasting on YouTube and BeIN Sports will feature the MLW return of Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux. Having her friends there is bittersweet.

“I wish they were killing it on WWE and wish they were just champions, but selfishly I’m happy to have them on the indies with me,” Shotzi said.  “It’s crazy because we’ve had so many parallels in our wrestling careers. We all got signed together. Me and Scarlett were the only two to get signed on the same day. We became really friends because we were put together. We started doing the drives together, and that’s how we got close. It’s how we both found out we like the paranormal stuff and then Kross got signed. Then we got fired-ish around the same time. It’s these weird parallels. We even got called to the main roster at the same time together. So, to have them at MLW is another ordeal. I just love having my friends with me.”

One other familiar face she may not enjoy seeing is Priscilla Kelly, a fellow alum who has been making her own waves on the scene.

“That’s always been my girl. She brings out the best and worst of me. She has been calling me out. I don’t mind that. I like a girl that knows what she wants,” Shotzi said. “I think she wants my spot in MLW, but it’s going to be hard for her to get it because I’m having a lot of fun in MLW and am not going to let her take my spot for sure. She is going to have to bring her A-game in November if she wants my spot.”

With so much star power coming into MLW’s women’s division, Shotzi is excited to be a part of it. She teased this is only the beginning in terms of what’s to come.

“I can definitely tell you it is going to grow, and there are going to be some huge names coming into MLW in the women’s division,” she said. “Not that I was the start of that, but I think them bringing me in for multiple dates is kind of the start of them bringing in more and more people who fans will be excited to see coming into MLW. I know there is some stuff abrewing, and I can’t wait for everyone to see how the women’s division develops in MLW.”

Outside goals for herself, she has also set up goals for herself in MLW. Perhaps, the dedicated performer eyes the Featherweight Championship held by Shoko Nakajuma?

“I always used to say titles never used to matter to me, but I’m at a point now that I want to be the face of a company,” Shotzi said. “I want the challenge to not just have crazy matches or just be this wild character on a show. I want to be the face of a company. I want that challenge. I want to lead the charge. I want to be at the top of the division. That’s what I want to develop in my career right now. I want to be a leader.”

AEW Launches New “This Is Sportscenter” Style Commercial Campaign

0

AEW has officially shifted its branding message, moving away from its long-standing “Where the best wrestle” tagline. The company has debuted a brand new television commercial that introduces a new slogan for the promotion: “Where Wrestlers Work.”

The new commercial, which has been compared to the iconic “This is Sportscenter” ads from ESPN, features a fresh, comedic tone. The spot includes AEW stars Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricochet, Orange Cassidy, and Thekla, highlighting their personalities outside the ring.

The new “Where Wrestlers Work” tagline ends the commercial in large, block letters, signaling a new marketing direction for the company. The slogan is seen as both a continuation of its identity as an in-ring focused product and a “slight shot” at its competitor, WWE, implying that AEW is the place for serious, professional wrestlers.

The company’s original “Where the best wrestle” tagline was a foundational part of its identity, built on the reputations of its original stars like Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Chris Jericho and “Hangman” Adam Page, as well as their women’s division. Today, AEW’s roster remains an “embarrassment of riches” with top-tier international talent like Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, and Swerve Strickland. The women’s division has also expanded significantly with the addition of major stars like Mercedes Mone, “Timeless” Toni Storm, and Jamie Hayter.

AEW is currently building toward its next pay-per-view event, Full Gear, which is scheduled for Saturday, November 22, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. As of now, only one match has been officially announced for the card: an AEW Women’s World Championship bout between the champion, Kris Statlander, and the AEW TBS Champion, Mercedes Mone. This match was set up after Mone issued a challenge at WrestleDream, which Statlander accepted on a subsequent episode of AEW Dynamite after attacking “The CEO” during her “12 Belts Celebration.”

Jey Uso: “I’m Tired Of People Saying I’m Just An Entrance”

0

“Main Event” Jey Uso has a new, serious attitude, and he’s putting the entire WWE Raw roster on notice. The former World Heavyweight Champion says he is tired of fans and critics claiming he is “just an entrance” and is adopting a more ruthless in-ring mentality to get back to the top of the mountain. This change in demeanor comes as he prepares for one of the biggest matches of his career: a showdown with CM Punk for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.

Jey Uso lost his first World Heavyweight Championship to GUNTHER earlier this year, a setback that, combined with advice from his cousin Roman Reigns, has forced him to re-evaluate his fun-loving “YEET” persona. Speaking on the latest episode of the RAW Recap podcast, Jey explained his shift in focus.

“I mean, nothing really changed on me, uce. You know, I still have fun. I still throw a party every Monday. I still like the kids, man. I still YEET with them. It’s just, man, when the bell rings, I just got to switch modes now, man. If I’m trying to get to the top, get back to the top, I got big hitters in front of me. I got guys like, man, CM Punk, you know, the guy like Gunther, guys like you know, the Seth Rollins, get well loose, but like, I got a heavy list in front of me and I got to- I just can’t play. I just can’t play no more, man. I’m tired of like people saying I’m just I’m just an entrance or whatever. It was like, I ain’t got skills to hold it down up top, man. So I just, I just switched modes. It was like, I don’t know. I mean, it might be going back to the old ways thinking, you know, Bloodline ways, but man, that kind of mentality got the job done.”

Jey Uso will get his chance to prove his critics wrong at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1. He is scheduled to face CM Punk to crown a new World Heavyweight Champion after Seth Rollins was forced to vacate the title due to injury.

WWE Legend Makes Case For Jey Uso To Win World Title

0

WWE Hall of Famer Tommy Dreamer is advocating for Jey Uso to get a significant run with the World Heavyweight Championship. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Dreamer discussed the upcoming title match between Uso and CM Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Dreamer praised both competitors for building anticipation for their championship clash, which will crown a new champion following Seth Rollins’ injury. He argued that the match deserves the main event spot.

“Give this guy a run and let him settle in. Punk and Jay absolutely, 100%, got me so into this match because I know it’s going to be a good match, I know the fans are gonna be into it. I know it’s gonna be a top-level main event,” Dreamer said. “I probably would put this on last because you are guaranteed a new champion.”

Dreamer elaborated on why he believes a title reign for Jey Uso makes sense from a storytelling perspective, particularly with major events and potential family drama on the horizon.

“I’m really very much invested in this because where do you go with Jey and where do you with Punk for after. And if it’s Jey’s time again give this guy a run,” Dreamer urged. “Let him settle in because this can work, especially if you’ve got that guy named Roman Reigns in the background of all of this and you got Survivor Series, Rumble, Mania.”

During this past Monday’s Raw, Punk and Uso had a heated face-to-face confrontation. Uso declared his sole focus was regaining the World Heavyweight Championship. Punk acknowledged respecting Uso but questioned if he had the ruthlessness to secure the victory. Uso didn’t take kindly to Punk’s words, accusing him of twisting facts. Jey ended the segment by telling Punk, “Screw you, Punk,” and vowing to defeat him at Saturday Night’s Main Event to prove he is the true “Best in the World.”

Mickie James Reveals How She Sneaked Her Real Name Past Vince McMahon On WWE Debut

0

Mickie James has revealed how she was able to keep her real name in WWE.

The wrestling veteran recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. She talked about things such as her first WWE run getting cut short, the infamous Piggy James storyline with LayCool and more.

During the interview, Mickie James also told the story of how she was able to keep her real name upon her main roster debut back in October 2005. The former Divas Champion mentioned that her development name was Alexis Laree but Vince McMahon did not like the moniker:

“I was Alexis Laree in OVW. I just love the name Alexis and Laree is my legit middle name, so that’s how that name came about.

But I’m about to debut this crazy stalker character, and Vince is like, ‘What’s her name? Alexis Laree? I don’t like that name. It sounds like a stripper name.’ And I’m like, Oh, guess it does, doesn’t it? Yeah, okay.”

How Grateful I Am For That: Mickie James

When Mr. McMahon asked her for an alternative to the OVW name, Mickie James ended up pitching her own name. This led to the wrestling legend becoming one of the few people on the roster who was using her real identity on TV:

“He’s like, ‘Well, got anything else? Got any other names?’ And I was like, ‘Uh, Mickie James?’ [He said] ‘I love it.’ I didn’t say, Oh, it’s my real name. I was like, oh, okay, great.

So I was able, and probably one of the last few people, to actually be able to use their real name. I was able to use my real name. Wow, crazy. And how grateful I am for that.”

Mickie James also dived deep into her debut storyline with Trish Stratus. Originally debuting as a super fan of Stratus, James slowly turned into a stalker, leading to a big match at WrestleMania 22. You can check out what she said about a controversial gesture that happened during this bout here.

Mickie James Reveals Vince McMahon Reaction To Infamous WrestleMania 22 Spot

0

Mickie James believes in asking for forgiveness rather than permission.

The wrestling legend recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. She talked about things such as getting to use her real name in WWE, being inducted in TNA Hall of Fame, and more.

During the interview, Mickie discussed her famous feud with Trish Stratus and their WrestleMania 22 match. The former Women’s Champion dived deep into the story behind her infamous gesture during the bout that has since been deleted from WWE history. James revealed that she had gotten permission for only part of it through their agent:

“Steve Keirn was our agent. I had asked Steve Keirn, ‘Can I lick my finger?’ Clearly, that’s not what I did. He was like, ‘Lick your finger?’ I was like, Well, yeah, I mean, I’m grabbing, wouldn’t I?

I’ve been trying to get my hands on her, you know, forever. This would be my dream come true, right? And he’s like, ‘I will see.’ I went away, and he comes back, and he goes, ‘Yeah, okay, I think you can lick your fingers.’ Fine, whatever. Sorry, Steve Keirn.”

I Had Never Received A High Five: Mickie James

Mickie James was placed in a storyline with Trish Stratus upon her main roster debut in October 2005. Originally posing as Trish’s biggest fan, James soon turned into an obsessed stalker. During their WrestleMania 22 Women’s title match, Mickie grabbed Stratus’ crotch during a spot and then proceeded to lick her finger.

The TNA Hall of Famer thought that the gesture would earn her a high five from Vince McMahon, who had never praised her performance like that before. The former WWE Chairman, however, was not as enthusiastic, and James actually was scolded by Mr. McMahon:

“I thought in my heart and in my soul, I honestly believed I was going to walk back through that curtain, and I had never received a high five. I’d seen other women get high fives from Vince and thumbs up and all these things. I got thumbs up before. I got a few thumbs up.

I thought I was going to get the biggest hug of a lifetime, and fist bumps, maybe even a hoist on a shoulder and out the door, something for being so brilliant. It’s not what happened at all.

Go back through the curtain and Vince is pissed. He’s like, ‘That was crass! Do you know what we’re gonna have to do? How much money it’s gonna cost to edit that and to pull it from everything? We’re a publicly traded company! What are you thinking?’”

James discussed how the scolding brought her down from the high of a lifetime. Though the former Divas champion noted that McMahon clearly did not hate her too much since she remained champion afterward. Mickie believes that deep down, he really loved the angle.

The storyline between Mickie James and Trish Stratus would continue for months after WrestleMania 22. It concluded at a Raw episode in June when James picked up a victory over her arch-rival in a Women’s title match.

Omos Pitches Floating Character For WWE TV Return

Omos has pitched an interesting character for himself.

The Wrestling Giant had made an offer to Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins after The Vision turned on the Architect during the October 13 episode of Raw. Rollins was written off TV with the angle due to a shoulder injury and was forced to relinquish the World title because of it.

During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Omos explained why he offered his services to the WWE power couple. The 33-year-old claimed that Seth gave a home to all the members of the group and raised their status. So seeing Rollins getting stabbed in the back, did not sit right with him:

“To get abandoned and stabbed in the back like that didn’t sit right with me, and I just felt that I could offer my services and really do a great job at handling it.”

The Omos Protection Agency

The Nigerian star later pitched an interesting character idea for his return to WWE TV. Taking inspiration from the APA, Omos suggested that he could work as a bodyguard for hire, being available to anyone who is ready to pay the fees:

“I have what I call the OPA – the Omos Protection Agency and my services are available to everybody, not just Becky Lynch, but if she needs my services like I said, just hit up my line and I’ll be there fair and square. We talk business and I’ll handle the work for you. Simple and clean.”

Omos has made appearances for NOAH and AAA in 2025, but not for the main WWE brand. His recent NXT live event appearances also led to no change in his creative status despite fans hoping that it was precursor to his TV return.

Triple Threat Title Match Added To Saturday Night’s Main Event

Dominik Mysterio has found himself in a difficult situation.

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw from Honda Center in Anaheim, California, featured a #1 Contenders match between Penta and Rusev to determine the next challenger for Dirty Dom’s IC title.

A backstage segment before the bout saw Mysterio calling someone for help. This came after his Judgment Day teammates brushed the IC Champion off when Dominik asked them to step up.

The help Mysterio called for turned out to be Rayo and Bravo Americano. They attacked both Penta and Rusev during the bout, leading to a No Contest finish.

This trick did not lead to the results Dom was hoping for, however, as General Manager Adam Pearce later confronted the current champion. The WWE Official announced that the IC title will now be defended in a triple threat, with both contenders getting a shot at the belt this Saturday.

AJ Lee and Saraya Tease That Their WWE Rivalry Is Never Over

Saraya made her WWE main-roster debut in shocking fashion in April 2014, when she captured the WWE Divas Championship from AJ Lee in her first match on Raw. What followed was a feud between the two for much of that year, and eleven years on, could a return match be in the works?

On Instagram, the USA Network account highlighted the eleven-year anniversary of Lee’s match with Saraya (then Paige) at WWE Hell in a Cell 2014. The bout was the final time the pair competed one-on-one on WWE programming. In her response to the match being called the end of their rivalry, Lee shared on her Instagram Stories that her feud with Saraya is “never over” and declared that she and the Brit are “frenemies for life.”

This message from Lee caught the attention of Saraya. On X, Saraya agreed that their rivalry is “never over” and described AJ as her fairy godmother.

AJ returned to WWE in September 2025 and won her first match in over a decade that same month. As for Saraya, she has finished her time with AEW, and has made it clear that she is open to a WWE return.

Over a decade after their most recent match, the AJ Lee Vs. Paige feud is still heralded by WWE fans as one of the best women’s storylines the company has ever produced. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on both women, as fans can’t count out another match between the two former champions.

Chris Bey’s Girlfriend Calls Neck Injury The Worst Day Of Her Life

0

October 27, 2024, will be a day Chris Bey will never forget, albeit for all the wrong reasons. During a taping for TNA Wrestling, Bey suffered fractured C1 and C6 vertebrae during a tag-team match that pitted himself and Ace Austin against Matt and Jeff Hardy.

This setback wasn’t just difficult for Chris, but also for his girlfriend, Brittnie Brooks. After Bey took to social media to reflect on the past year, Brooks shared a lengthy statement on her X page, calling the accident “the worst day of my life.”

“One year ago today, our lives changed forever when @DashingChrisBey suffered a severe spinal cord injury and broken neck during a match.

“By far the worst day of my life hearing the news and being so unsure about what was going on.

“Thanks to TNA, and their quick reaction time, i was able to make it to the hospital in Detroit literally about 12 hrs after the injury happened, despite living across the country in Arizona at the time. being by chris’s side and making sure he knew he wasn’t alone was the most important thing to me.

“Between getting the news that he probably will never walk again, and trying my best to be strong for him, the following two months of traveling back and forth to visit him in the hospital and also still tend to my knee (which i was rehabbing from my ACL tear) was very difficult.

“Everyday them coming in and telling him to move his toes ano just not being able to was so hard to see. when you love someone, it’s so heartbreaking to see them in so much pain and uncertainty. but still, he persisted and defied every single thing they told him he wouldn’t be able to do.

“By time he was discharged in december, he was able to move his legs, by our 2nd week of being home in vegas he was out the wheelchair, able to walk with a walker, and 2 weeks later he was on crutches, and 2 weeks after, walking with no assistance.

“Chris is one of the strongest-willed and physically strongest person i’ve ever met. To add onto that, when you go thru a spinal cord injury it’s so much more than not being able to walk. his first week in the hospital he couldn’t move his arms, couldn’t hold his phone, couldn’t feed himself, let alone internally digest the food. so many of his body systems were and still are changed forever.

“I will never understand the pain he went thru, (and continues to go thru daily) but his drive and dedication inspires me daily to constantly be better.

“I’M so honored to be by his side and be able to call him mine. i love you so much @DashingChrisBey and proud is an understatement.

“This is the greatest story ever told, and i’m so happy to be apart of every chapter.”

Bey has been able to make literal strides in his recovery, including standing tall in April 2025 at the fittingly-named TNA Unbreakable. The show was Bey’s first appearance at a TNA event since the injury and was able to appreciate the moment with his ABC ally Ace Austin by his side.

Chris Bey won’t count out a return to the ring, a testament to his ongoing determination. Whether that happens remains to be seen, but Bey continues to prove he is a fighter in and out of the ring.
