Live Event Management Executive Talks WWE’s VIP Package & Sponsor Coordination Approach

0

For Jennifer Brisman, no matter the environment the guest is the gold. She is the founder and CEO of VOW, a one-stop shop platform for event orchestration to help products and planners coordinate every moving part of the live experience in real time. Brisman has helped produce more than 600 events from Saturday Night Live to the Tony Awards and has broken through in the sports space with the PFL (Professional Fighters League).

The MMA company uses the platform specifically for VIP experiences. It manages key sponsors, fighters’ families, and stakeholders through grand scale seating assignments and list management tools in real time. She looks to grow capabilities from 10,000 people to 25,000 in Q1 and 50,000 Q2. Brisman has set aggressive benchmarks looking to stand at the forefront of live event organization technology and expand further in combat sports.

“What’s really exciting about wrestling is first you’re super close unlike more broadly sports or sports adjacent events. You are close to the smell of the sweat. That is the first thing true live action. No matter where you are in that arena or that space or event, you feel it, you can touch it. Wrestling fans are just an unbelievable unique make and model and they are dedicated to that sport,” Brisman said, bringing her perspective to what WWE has done. “What’s interesting in wrestling in general and action sports is not that you’re just close to the action, but it’s the way they deal with VIP experiences. All of these groups have VIP experiences that might relate to hosts to corporate groups to private groups.”

She continued: “They are bringing them in, pulling them through, but you also have to remember, for the most part you are 360 around the ring right around the action. You also have to think about who is sitting around the ring that the broadcast is hitting. This is such a key component only our software allows you to do because everything in it is real-time with  live data and where people are sat and where groups are sat that allows broadcasts to focus. This is a big thing for WWE and other similar groups to be able to ensure that key faces are near the sponsor where broadcast is hitting a sponsor logo or sponsor name.”

As companies like TKO with WWE under that umbrella, VIP focus and experiential packages have become priority. Not to mention big moneymakers that weren’t prevalent to what it has become in recent years. In her eyes, little things like who is rubbing elbows with who matters in the short-term and long-term.

“They really think about who is sitting around the action, who is sitting around the ring. How that camera is going to pan to those faces or guests or sponsors. Again because it’s 360, that’s significant and major,” Brisman. “Also, wrestling moves. They are moving venues in different cities, sometimes a little different than teams and leagues so they have amazing partners across broadcast partners. Our platform would allow them to ensure to have all seating information, VIP guest attendee fan information, all in real-time. Wrestling is really unique and super exciting. They’ve really doubled down on VIP experiences and hospitality moments.”

Brisman appreciates what TKO has created by consolidating partnerships and expanding in different areas. It comes down to the question of what drives a sponsor to come on to a major brand. Also, what brings fans coming back while leveraging the live event experience to keep fans, sponsors, and stakeholders invested.

“It’s the rinse and repeat with what can be done and creating stable revenue,” she said. “It’s brilliant what they’ve done and certainly commend them for thinking about what their fans want and really broadening that base.”

Thunder Rosa Provides Update On Recovery From Undisclosed Injury

0

Thunder Rosa is expecting to return soon.

The former AEW Women’s World Champion recently had an interview with Midnight Movie Trash. She talked about things such as her Mission Pro Wrestling promotion going on hiatus, what inspired her to start her Taco vlog and more.

The female star also revealed what she’s been up to during her absence from AEW TV. She mentioned things like being a part of the mega procession of Catrinas and her work with the NFL. Thunder Rosa then explained that her rehab is going well and she is expecting to return to the ring fairly soon:

“I’m just focusing on continuing my rehab for the injuries that I just had a couple months ago and I have really good news. Everything’s going really well so I’m expecting to return to the ring fairly soon.”

The Mexican star last wrestled during the All In Texas PPV back in July this year. She was part of the #1 Contender Casino Gauntlet match for the Women’s title, which was won by Athena.

The nature of her injury is unknown as Thunder Rosa had only announced that she’ll be taking a break from wrestling after the PPV. We’ll have to see what the company has planned for her upon her return.

The Undertaker Reveals The One Match He’s Most Fond Of

0

The Undertaker has explained what made Shawn Michaels so great.

The Dead Man recently had an interview with Comedian Tom Segura. They talked about things such as the origin of WrestleMania, the birth of The Dead Man character, injuries in his career and more.

The former World Champion was asked to name one match he is fond of above all others in his illustrious career. The Undertaker picked his WrestleMania 25 match with HBK, saying that it was as close to perfect as he ever got:

“So the match I’m probably [most fond of] as far as a wrestling purist kind of matches, would have to be WrestleMania 25, Shawn Michaels. That was as close to perfect that I ever got, right?

It was just one of those things when you’re in the moment. And obviously, Shawn is probably one of the greatest, if not the greatest in-ring talent ever.”

He Was Ahead of His Time: The Undertaker

When asked what made Michaels such a great talent, The Last Outlaw explained that not only did Shawn had all the qualities required in a great wrestler but he was also a believable fighter:

“He just was an exceptional talent. He loved the business. He was a phenomenal athlete. He had this incredible personality. He just, he had it all. He was good on the mic. His character was good.

And for a smaller guy…for me, in a wrestling match, it always broke down, like you can do all the wrestling and everything, it always, at some point, breaks down to where it’s just dukes, right? It’s just a fight. And not everybody had that.

They didn’t have that edge. He did. He was ahead of his time with his inward ability. But when it came down to the, even if it came down to just the fight, he was believable. He’s recognized as one of the greats, but I don’t think people really understand how good he was.”

Latest On Private Party’s Mysterious AEW Absence

0

Private Party remain in AEW, at least for now.

The tag team of Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy has not been seen on the company’s programming since January this year. They dropped the AEW tag titles to The Hurt Syndicate in their last bout for the promotion.

The tag team wrestled one match for HOG a couple of months later and have been out of action ever since, leaving people curious about their status.

There was some talk about them when it was reported in the Summer that the duo’s contract was up soon and that WWE had interest in bringing them on board, but there has been no movement in this direction since.

Fight Select provided a small update on the matter recently. They noted that despite previous reports, both Quen and Kassidy remain under contract as of this writing. Though it could change anytime.

One interesting possibility per the site is that the deal of the two stars could expire at different times, meaning that we can see them leaving the company seperately or one of could leave the promotion while the other stays.

With no solid update on their status beyond this, it’s hard to say when or where we’ll see Private Party wrestling again. Though fans are hopeful that it will not be much longer before the young stars return to TV.

WWE Alum Zach Gowen Shares Being Mistaken For Joe Hendry

0

Zach Gowen made an immediate impact in WWE when he debuted in 2003, as the one-legged wrestler worked with some of the top stars of the time. Today, Gowen is still being met by wrestling fans, even if some are mistaking him for a certain Scottish star.

On Facebook, Gowen shared that he was recently spotted by a wrestling fan, though they mistook him for Joe Hendry. When Gowen shared that he wasn’t Hendry, but was indeed a former WWE Superstar, this claim was met with a sarcastic “yeah, right.” Gowen asked his fans if he was ‘cooked’ after both being mistaken and having his history as a WWE Superstar dismissed.

After briefly competing in TNA Wrestling in early 2003, Gowen signed with WWE that year and debuted as a planted fan of Mr. America (a masked Hulk Hogan). Gowen’s support for America/Hogan would put him at odds with Mr. McMahon. Gowen’s time with WWE would also see him share the screen with John Cena, The Big Show, and Brock Lesnar before his release from the company in February 2004.

Gowen appeared on AEW TV in May of this year and shared a spot with Ricochet, proving that fans still recognize the one-legged wrestler. But with his blond hair and positive attitude, this case of mistaken identity proved funny for the ex-Superstar.

Motor City Machine Guns Launch Coffee Blend With Michigan Roaster

0

WWE Superstars Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley are known for electrifying in the ring, and now they’ll be keeping fans alert with their new blend of coffee. On X, Chris Sabin shared that he and Shelley have teamed up with New Order coffee, a southeast Michigan small-batch roaster, to create the Motor City Machine Guns blend.

The product listing from New Order gives the following description:

“Rev up your mornings with the Motor City Machine Guns Blend, crafted for the high-octane energy of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin current WWE Superstars and former WWE World Tag Team Champions! To match the world travelled experience of the MCMG we’ve combined their favorite characteristics from each of the three primary coffee growing regions of the world to make a blend as original as the Motor City Machine Guns themselves.

“Roasted to perfection, it’s a hard-hitting yet balanced brew that’s ready to pin down your taste buds. Whether you’re powering through a workout or cheering from the sidelines, this blend brings the intensity and heart of the Motor City Machine Guns to every sip.”

The Motor City Machine Guns blend comes in 12 oz bags for $25.00. Grind types available include Whole Bean, Flat Bottom Filter, Cone Filter, Fench Press, Espresso, and Cold Brew, meaning there’s something for every kind of coffee addict.

The Guns arrived in WWE in 2024 and wasted no time in winning the WWE Tag Team Championships in their third match. While Shelley and Sabin no longer hold the gold, they continue to entertain fans each week as part of the WWE SmackDown roster.

Giulia Says Wrestling Saved Her on 8-Year Anniversary of Debut

0

WWE Women’s United States Champion Giulia has opened up about her time as a professional wrestler, sharing that the industry helped save her. On X, Giulia shared that she recently marked the eight-year anniversary of her pro wrestling debut. Giulia claimed that “wrestling saved me when my life was going nowhere” and is grateful for everyone and everything that has happened.

8 years since I first stepped into the ring… Wrestling saved me when my life was going nowhere. I’m still on my journey… there’s so much more to do, and I’ll keep climbing higher?? I love wrestling with all my hear Every step, every challenge, every cheer and even every boo I’m grateful for it all??

Giulia’s first match took place on October 29, 2017 at the New Ice Ribbon #845 event promoted by the Ice Ribbon promotion. On that night, she teamed with Takako Inoue in a loss to Nao Date and Satsuki Totoro. In 2019, Giulia joined Stardom, where she’d become one of the company’s top stars before leaving for WWE in 2024.

Today, Giulia is the reigning WWE Women’s United States Champion, becoming the third woman to hold the title after Chelsea Green and Zelina Vega. A former WWE NXT Women’s Champion, she is also an author, having released her autobiography My Dream in August 2024.

It remains to be seen where Giulia’s wrestling journey will lead next. Whatever the future holds, “The Beautiful Madness” remains deeply grateful for everything the sport has given her.

Absolute Batman Hits One Winged Angel, Kenny Omega Reacts

0

DC Comics’ resident caped crusader Batman demonstrated his pro wrestling skills by hitting a One Winged Angel. In Absolute Batman Annual #1, the Dark Knight takes down a member of the Gotham City Police Department with the wrestling move. On X, Kenny Omega, the user of the One Winged Angel, was pleased to see his finisher make it to the page.

Absolute Batman, like all titles in the Absolute Universe, gives an alternate take to Batman. In this universe, Bruce Wayne is a blue-collar civil engineer, not the billionaire playboy seen in the mainstream continuity. Bruce’s mother is still alive in the ‘AU’ and rather than being his trusted butler, Alfred Pennyworth is an MI6 operative sent to Gotham to track Batman.

This moment is just the latest example of the worlds of AEW and DC Comics colliding. In October 2025, it was shared that a two-issue series will see AEW wrestlers team with the Justice League in 2026. The two sides will unite to recover a “Big Galactic Belt” and prevent a cosmic catastrophe.

In 2024, several issues of DC Comics featured short stories giving the background behind some of the All-Elite roster. These stories were later re-released as a collected ‘AEW Origins’ book.

The ties between AEW and DC Comics remain stronger than ever, as DC will serve as the sponsor of AEW Full Gear 2025 on November 22. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest from these two entertainment powerhouses.

Matt Hardy Teases Biggest Hardy Compound Match for 2026

0

Fans can expect the biggest ever match at the Hardy Compound at some point in 2026, according to Matt Hardy himself. Hardy made the bold claim during a special Hardy Halloween episode, which is currently available to subscribers of TNA+.

At the end of the episode, Hardy shared his premonition for 2026. Matt claimed that next year will feature “the grandest, the biggest, and the most epic Hardy Compound match ever.” The current TNA World Tag Team Champion stopped short of sharing when exactly this match will take place.

The Hardy Compound has been the home of several notable matches, including Delete or Decay, The Firm Deletion, and Total Nonstop Deletion, to name just a few. These cinematic matches have often proved popular with fans, and now those fans can expect something even bigger in 2026.

In TNA Wrestling, The Hardys are riding high as the reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions. In their fourth reign with the gold, Matt and Jeff recently retained against Team 3D in the final match of Bully Ray and Devon. The Hardys also hold the House of Glory Tag Team Titles as well as the 4th Rope Wrestling Tag Team Championships.

Time will tell when this biggest Hardy Compound match happens, and who Matt and Jeff will battle. Already, the legendary brothers have big plans for 2026.

Former WWE Champion Undergoes Knee Surgery

0

Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal announced he has undergone successful knee surgery to address lingering mobility issues that have impacted his recent wrestling career. The procedure involved removing two loose bodies from his knee joint and trimming his meniscus, targeting chronic pain and joint instability that had plagued the former titleholder.

Mahal, whose real name is Raj Dhesi, shared the news directly with fans through his official Instagram account, posting video documentation of the procedure and his first day of rehabilitation.

The surgery comes years after Mahal’s memorable 2017 WWE Championship reign, which established him as a prominent international wrestling ambassador. While no official return timeline has been announced, the successful procedure offers hope for a full recovery and possible comeback once medical clearance is obtained.

Wrestling fans will closely monitor Mahal’s rehabilitation progress as he begins the recovery process. The former champion’s focus now shifts entirely to regaining strength and mobility, with any future in-ring competition dependent on his post-surgical rehabilitation outcomes.

Bayley Poses With Top AEW Champion

0

Bayley is friends with everyone!

The WWE star is always praised by her peers for being one of the best people behind the scenes. It appears this reputation extends beyond just the WWE locker room.

The former Women’s Champion recently posted a group of photos on Instagram showcasing how October went for her. The pics showed her doing things such as hanging out with CM Punk in Australia during the Crown Jewel 2025 tour, reading Natalya’s new book and more.

The most interesting capture of the bunch, however, was a photo where she can be seen hugging none other than the current AEW Women’s Champion Kris Statlander:

Bayley is good friends with current AEW star Mercedes Mone, and she is known to visit wrestling shows to support the TBS Champion in her post-WWE career. So it’s not a surprise that she knows members of the AEW roster as well.

Statlander has actually been working with Mone in a program recently, and the two are set to face each other at next month’s Full Gear PPV as well.

Bayley on the other hand has been involved in a storyline with Lyra Valkyria. The two challenged Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss for the Women’s Tag Team Titles on Raw this week but they were unsuccessful in their quest.

World Title Match And More Confirmed For AEW Full Gear 2025

0

AEW has added two new championship matches to Full Gear.

The October 29 episode of Dynamite featured a #1 contender fatal four way tag match to determine the challengers for the tag team titles at the PPV.

The Young Bucks, FTR, Jurassic Express, and JetSpeed competed in this bout. The ending of the fight saw Kevin Knight delivering a big UFO splash on Nick Jackson. Before he could get the pin, however, FTR swooped in and delivered a Shatter Machine on Knight for the win.

A similar fatal four-way took place later in the show to determine the challenger for Hangman Page’s AEW World title. Samoa Joe, HOOK, Bobby Lashley, and Ricochet were the participants of this bout.

The ending saw Lashley chasing Ricochet up the ramp, allowing Joe to lock HOOK in the Coquina Clutch for the victory. Though Samoa Joe couldn’t celebrate for long as Adam Page, disguised as Tony Schiavone attacked him after the bout.

Marina Shafir Replaces Injured Penelope Ford in AEW Tournament

0

Penelope Ford has been forced to withdraw from the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Title Tournament due to injury. The announcement was made on AEW Dynamite. Ford suffered a torn UCL and is out of action indefinitely.

Megan Bayne was given the option to choose a replacement partner. She has selected Marina Shafir to take Ford’s place in the tournament. Shafir will now team with Bayne as they continue their quest for the titles.

The news of Ford’s injury and Shafir’s addition was first reported by All Elite Wrestling via Twitter on October 30, 2025. The nature of the injury and its impact on Ford’s future were also confirmed. Fans are eager to see how Shafir and Bayne will perform as a team in the tournament.

Shafir’s addition presents a new dynamic to the tournament. It remains to be seen how this change will affect the overall landscape of the competition. Bayne and Shafir are scheduled to compete next week.

Orange Cassidy Issues Blood And Guts Challenge To The Death Riders

0

The heated rivalry between The Conglomeration and The Death Riders is set to culminate in AEW’s most violent and chaotic match: Blood & Guts. On the October 29 “Fright Night” episode of AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy, in his signature low-effort style, officially laid down the challenge for the two-ring, two-cage spectacle, which is now set to take place on the November 12 edition of AEW Dynamite.

The challenge came at the conclusion of a brutal main event that saw Jon Moxley face Kyle O’Reilly in singles competition. The match was an intense, hard-hitting affair that quickly spilled to the outside. O’Reilly locked Moxley in a guillotine submission on the floor and refused to break the hold, prompting the referee to count both men out, ending the match in a double countout.

This unsatisfying conclusion led to an immediate post-match brawl. The remaining members of the Death Riders hit the ring to swarm O’Reilly, who was quickly saved by his Conglomeration allies—Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, and Roderick Strong—along with their frequent partner, Darby Allin. After the two factions brawled, Allin took the microphone and teased that he had a solution to end their war. He passed the mic to Mark Briscoe, who also hyped the announcement before handing the microphone to Orange Cassidy.

With the crowd buzzing, Cassidy simply and lazily declared, “Blood & Guts.” The match is now official for the November 12 episode of AEW Dynamite. As of publish time, the exact members for each team have not been officially confirmed, but it will presumably see the united front of The Conglomeration and Darby Allin taking on Jon Moxley and his Death Riders faction inside the structure.

WWE Signs Mike Cunningham, Jha’Quan McNair & Eli Knight

0

WWE has signed three new recruits to its ID program. The announcement was made on October 29 via the Evolve stream on Tubi.

Mike Cunningham, Jha’Quan McNair, and Eli Knight all participated in WWE tryouts during SummerSlam week in New Jersey. Each brings a unique wrestling background to WWE.

  • Cunningham trained at the Nightmare Factory, where he impressed Cody Rhodes. Rhodes referred to Cunningham as “one of the school’s top students.”

  • McNair honed his skills at Team Fearless Training Academy, run by former WCW star ‘Lodi’ Brad Cain.

  • Knight trained at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling, Ace Steel’s Harley Race Foundation School of Wrestling, and The Dungeon, overseen by Natalya and TJ Wilson.

The WWE ID program focuses on identifying and developing the next generation of WWE Superstars. The program has seen recent departures, but consistently adds new talent on an annual cycle.

Bobby Fish on Infamous CM Punk GTS Kick Out From Big 2021 AEW Match

0

Bobby Fish and CM Punk shared a bit of an infamous moment with one another during their AEW match from years ago with the former giving his side of the story regarding that situation. Fish posted a video addressing the matchup he had with the controversial figure as CM Punk stepped into the ring against Bobby Fish for the October 27, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite.

The moment being referenced here came during the finishing sequence as Punk hit his GTS with Fish looking like he kicked out right at three or something representing a millisecond or two after the three-count was authored by the referee.

It became a moment that many still discuss on and off to this day with Fish just dropping a video on his YouTube channel pulling back the curtain a bit on that. First though, Fish touched on when he broke into the industry and how he saw CM Punk as a decent wrestler, a marginal athlete, but then also criticizing Punk’s UFC run where he felt like the former AEW Champion dropped the ball and represented pro wrestling poorly during his MMA efforts.

Bobby Fish on CM Punk miscommunication: “There was not a lot of time to think”

Touching on the situation with Punk on Dynamite in 2021, Fish received a lot of flak from many online who felt like he was going into business for himself or trying to shoehorn in something that would make him look good in that matchup. Addressing what happened in that situation from his perspective, Fish mentioned that Phil Brooks gave him an ‘iggy,’ which refers to a certain squeeze wrestlers utilize to subtly draw attention to something within the performance. Fish said [h/t f4w online]:

“There’s different kinds of iggies, as crazy as that sounds. But the iggy I got in that moment was as if he was trying to get my attention.”

“There was not a lot of time to think about this. So it was like do or don’t do, and I did, and what I did was kick out, knowing, okay, if this wasn’t what the intention was, pick me up and hit your move again, or whatever you want to do.”

The former ROH TV champion stated he approached Punk in his locker room after the match to see if there were any grievances. Bobby Fish mentioned that the former WWE champion stated how things were fine, but Fish got the sense that things were not, in fact, fine. Fish wrestled in AEW up until August 2022 when his contractual agreement came to an end with All Elite Wrestling.

Mercedes Mone States History Will Repeat Itself vs. Kris Statlander in Big AEW Full Gear 2025

0

Mercedes Mone is confident that she can get it done again against Kris Statlander at this year’s AEW Full Gear and referenced their match at last year’s tentpole event to underscore her point. On her personal X page, Mone posted a video clip of her match with the current AEW women’s champion from their showdown at Full Gear 2024. The reigning TBS champion mentioned in a tweet how history will repeat itself with the corresponding full match YouTube link that saw Mone best Statlander last year.

That was one of two victories that Mone was able to get over Statlander in 2024 with ‘Ultimo Mone’ thwarting the intergalactic talent’s pair of bids for the TBS championship. This year’s Full Gear match comes with even bigger stakes and atmosphere as this contest is a champ vs champ clash with Mone and Statlander bringing in the TBS and AEW championships, respectively. The matchup takes place in Newark, New Jersey on November 22 at the Prudential Center.

Mercedes Mone vs. Kris Statlander AEW Full Gear 2025 matchup overview

The matchup was initially set on the October 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite when Kris Statlander responded in a game way to the gauntlet that Mercedes Mone had laid down for this massive matchup. With Mone collecting new hardware seemingly on a weekly basis and consistently authoring new chapters in her story, the AEW title is one that has eluded her so far. The motivation would presumably be compounded by Mone’s failed AEW title bid against Toni Storm at AEW All In during the Summer.

For Statlander, the motivation to keep the title is obviously there but the adage of third time’s the charm could ring true if Statlander gets her ideal outcome in the weeks to come. Can Mone claim an unprecedented 13th concurrent championship or will the Galaxy’s Greatest Alien punctuate her long awaited, history making AEW title reign with a win over one of the biggest names among this generation of wrestlers?

Mike Rotunda’s Daughter Clarifies His Health Status: “My Father Is Not In Hospice”

0

Mika Rotunda, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda (Irwin R. Schyster), has issued a public statement clarifying her father’s health status, correcting a recent report that he was in hospice care. The wrestling world was shaken earlier this week when Rotunda’s long-time tag team partner and brother-in-law, Barry Windham, stated in an interview that Rotunda was in hospice.

Mika’s statement, posted to her Instagram Stories on October 29, 2025, confirms her father is facing a serious health battle but clarifies that he is in a rehabilitation center and recovering after suffering a massive heart attack last month. Mika Rotunda began her statement by addressing her uncle’s comments, which were made while he was answering a question about her late brother, Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt).

“Our family would like to take a moment to clarify some information currently circulating online regarding my father, Mike Rotunda. Yes, my uncle Barry did make a comment mentioning that my father is in hospice care while answering a question about my late brother, Windham, whom we lost two years ago.”

She then provided the correct details on her father’s condition, revealing the severity of the situation. “My father is not in hospice, but rather in a rehabilitation center. He suffered a massive heart attack September 20th, was in a coma for a week, and spent over a month hospitalized. By the grace of God, he has now transitioned to a rehabilitation center, where our family remains present, hopeful, and focused on his recovery.”

The statement continued with a message of optimism and faith in her father’s strength. “It has already been a long road, and we know there is still a long road ahead — but our faith in God remains strong. Anyone who knows my dad knows that it’s his strength, work ethic, and athleticism that have carried him through not just this, but every challenge life has thrown his way. If there’s one person I have faith in, it’s Captain Mike.”

Mika concluded by thanking the public for their support and asking for privacy as the family focuses on his recovery.

“We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the wrestling world and our local communities. At this time, we kindly ask for privacy as we continue walking this journey together — but we warmly welcome continued prayers, good energy, and healing thoughts for his recovery.”

Mike Rotunda was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2024 alongside Barry Windham as part of their tag team, The U.S. Express. We wish him a speedy recovery.

WWE Star Wrestled Through Illness On Raw

0

A WWE star recently wrestled while sick and has received praise for showing up and putting on a quality match. Maxxine Dupri challenged Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship during the October 20th episode of RAW. While Dupri won the match, it was via disqualification, which means Lynch retained her championship. It was the 28-year-old’s second consecutive victory over the champion; she won their previous bout via countout.

WWE legend Natalya, who has been featured alongside Maxxine Dupri, revealed that the Alpha Academy star never asked to be pulled from the show despite being unwell. During a recent appearance on The Joe Vulpis Podcast, Natalya praised Dupri for her commitment.

“She had a match against Becky on Raw—her most recent match with Becky—she had lost her voice. She was really sick. And she didn’t tell anyone. She was pushing through, but she sent me a little voice note during the day like, ‘I’m doing great, everything’s going great—I just lost my voice. I can’t talk.’”

Natalya continued, explaining the pressure of the high-profile opportunity. “If you’re sick and you’re getting an opportunity to wrestle Becky Lynch—a woman who main-evented WrestleMania—on Monday Night Raw on Netflix? You can’t go up to our bosses, you can’t go up to Triple H and say, ‘Hey, I don’t feel good today. I’ve got laryngitis.”

After the match, Maxxine Dupri was shown backstage, none too pleased with how the match ended. She then said that she would continue to challenge for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Backstage News On Ex-WWE Star’s AEW Status After Debut

0

AEW has featured several former WWE stars on its roster. Earlier in 2025, Isla Dawn made her debut for the promotion in her hometown of Glasgow, Scotland, following her release from WWE.

Now, another former WWE star has appeared on AEW programming. Tegan Nox, using her non-WWE name Nixon Newell, appeared on a recent episode of Collision alongside Miranda Alize. The two confronted Anna Jay and Tay Melo, who are involved in the tournament to crown the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave an update on Newell’s status and noted he does not believe she is officially signed with AEW.

“I didn’t get the impression that they’re signed to a deal, as much as they’re being brought in for a tag team match. Kind of like ‘If you do good…’ whatever. I don’t know. I haven’t heard that they’re signed or anything. But we’ll see.”

Newell’s appearance comes as the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Tournament is moving forward. A quarterfinal match was recently announced for ‘Fright Night Dynamite’ featuring Queen Aminata and Jamie Hayter against Julia Hart and Skye Blue.

AJ Styles Makes Surprising Admission About His Rivalry With John Cena

0

When AJ Styles made his blockbuster debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble, a dream match with John Cena seemed inevitable. The two men, who were the faces of TNA and WWE, went on to have a legendary trilogy of matches. However, “The Phenomenal One” recently revealed that when their feud began, he was genuinely unsure if Cena even knew who he was or was familiar with his extensive career outside of WWE.

Styles, who came to WWE after iconic runs in both TNA and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, discussed the “WWE bubble” and his initial uncertainty about Cena’s knowledge of his work. Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated’s “Undisputed,” Styles explained his mindset heading into their first match.

“When you’re in the WWE bubble, it’s very difficult to keep up with anything else, so I wondered how familiar he was with it. My thinking is that, over time, he heard more and did more research. Before our first match, he told me that he was trying to find stuff on me to cut a promo, but he couldn’t really find much. I’m assuming a lot of his research came from the Bullet Club, and that’s what he knew about it.”

This reflection comes just weeks after the two men had their final one-on-one encounter at the WWE Crown Jewel on October 11. During that match, Cena paid a special tribute to Styles’s history, having the ring announcer introduce him as “The definition of Total Nonstop Action” and “The ace and total boss of the Bullet Club.” Styles has since stated that the custom introduction was a complete surprise to him.

Tyler Breeze Says The Fashion Police Gimmick Was Killed By Accident

0

Tyler Breeze believes one of his most popular gimmicks was killed by accident.

Prince Pretty was recently a guest on In The Weeds podcast. Among other things, he told the origin story of the Fashion Files skits with his former partner Fandango, that became widely popular at one point before being pulled off the air abruptly.

According to the former NXT star, the gimmick was not something that was pitched by writers. The whole thing was born out of the duo’s desire to do something to get back on TV. They used spare cameras available in the social media department to film some early vignettes they released online.

Fandango and Breeze got their wish as the duo were put back on SmackDown when the skits went viral. Though, despite the big numbers on social media, Vince McMahon was seemingly never a fan of the whole thing:

“To this day, I think it got cancelled by accident because there was a pay-per-view coming up, and we weren’t booked on it, but they had a Fashion Files. So Vince said, ‘Why do we have one?

Like, why are we doing this? Because they don’t have a match on the pay-per-view, so why are we doing it?’”

That Was The End Of It: Tyler Breeze

Tyler Breeze explained that it was the SmackDown head writer at the time who put them on the show. McMahon originally questioned their presence on the episode, but decided to keep the skits going upon learning that it was their best-performing social media video of the week.

After the incident of the PPV, however, the members of the creative team freaked out. They misinterpreted the boss’ directions and killed the whole thing:

“And I think all the writers freaked out, and they went, oh God, he hates it. Never do it again. Then we never did another one after that. And that was the end of it.

And I was pretty sure it was just a mistake. I’m pretty sure he just said don’t do it before a pay-per-view where they’re not wrestling.”

Overall, the Fashion Police gimmick lasted about eight months before being retired quietly. You can check out their first SmackDown vignette below:

Jey Uso Believes He And Roman Reigns Are ‘Equals Now’

Jey Uso has commented on the relationship between him and Roman Reigns.

The Yeet Man has been showing a more serious side of him in recent weeks. The former world champion seems to be drifting away from his brother Jimmy more and more in pursuit of reclaiming his ‘Main Event’ status.

At the same time, fans have found him acting more like The Head of The Table as Jey tries to prove that he can stand among the other main eventers on his own.

The 40-year-old talked about his complicated relationship with his multi-time world champion cousin during the latest Raw recap. Fresh off his confrontation with CM Punk, Jey Uso claimed that Roman Reigns sees him as his equal now:

“He see me now, you know what I’m saying, Uce, we equals now, you know, he did teach me the game, man. I was a student to him, I sat under the learning tree all of COVID.

I was there. Like front row, man. I had my ticket, just learning the game, man, learning from Big Uce, learning from The Wiseman.”

Still My Tribal Chief: Jey Uso

Though despite his ambitions, Jey Uso doesn’t seem to be challenging the Big Dog’s Status in their Family. He proclaimed that Roman remains the one and only Tribal Chief for him:

“Me and Roman got a love-hate relationship, like y’all can tell, man, but respect between us is there now. So, he’s still big uce, he’s still my Tribal Chief, man. There’ll never be another Tribal Chief to Jey Uso but Roman Reigns.”

Jey Uso will get the chance to prove himself when he faces CM Punk for the vacant World Heavyweight Title at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1. It’d be interesting to see how his character evolves if he fails to capture the belt.

Sting Shares Remaining Dates Of ‘Now or Never’ Facepaint Tour

Sting will don his iconic face paint for the last time in 2025, and time is running out for fans wanting to meet him in the black and white. On Instagram, Sting shared an updated list of dates for his remaining appearances in the paint that run until the end of 2025.

After years as ‘Surfer Sting’, the WWE Hall of Fame adopted his iconic black and white look during the mid-late 1990s. The on-screen change was explained as being the result of WCW’s roster not trusting Sting during the company’s war with the New World Order. The design is heavily influenced by the comic book character The Crow.

Sting recently resurfaced on AEW programming in his iconic facepaint. During AEW WrestleDream, Sting aided Darby Allin in his violent I-Quit match with Jon Moxley. The match, which included a controversial spot involving an attempted drowning, saw Allin get the win after Sting ran off the Death Riders.

Sting’s Now or Never tour marks the end of one of pro wrestling’s most iconic looks, proving that nothing lasts forever. For fans of The Icon, the clock is ticking to get their photos with the popular wrestler in the black and white.
