AAA Executive: Many In WWE Want Alberto El Patron Return

0

Alberto El Patron recently lost a match in AAA and per the stipulation, has to now part ways with the promotion, seemingly forever. As questions remain about his future in wrestling, AAA executive Ernesto Campo believes El Patron’s future could see him return to the promotion, as well as WWE.

Speaking to Superluchas, Campo was asked about whether El Patron’s loss was just for storylines, or if he is truly gone. Campo shared that he hopes Alberto returns before claiming some in WWE hope to see him back as well.

“What I know is that there are no plans for him to go to the U.S. but that could change. But I do hope that he eventually returns to AAA Programming. There are Many in WWE want him to return to the main roster.”

Campo highlighted how El Patron kept AAA “afloat” over the past year as one of the company’s top stars. Not only did Alberto lead the company, but he achieved “huge revenues” across Mexico, Campo added.

Campo did not name anyone within WWE hoping for El Patron’s return, and currently, there’s no sign of a comeback. It’s been reported that WWE’s stance “has not changed” on El Patron, who was released a second time in 2016. WWE deliberately distanced itself from the former World Champion, actively avoiding mentioning him since its acquisition of AAA.

El Patron was fired from WWE in 2014 after a backstage altercation, and after being rehired the next year, was cut in 2016 following a Wellness Policy violation. With Campo’s comments, time will tell if Alberto is ever called a WWE Superstar again.

How CrossFit & Mark Henry Led Bianca Belair to WWE Greatness

0

WWE Superstars come from all works of life, and for Bianca Belair, a single message from Hall of Famer Mark Henry changed everything for the EST. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Belair explained how her athleticism and natural showmanship in a CrossFit video caught Henry’s attention in an unexpected way.

“Mark Henry saw a video of me. I had this big bow in my hair and I’m talking to the audience, and he’s like, ‘Hey, have you ever thought of being a wrestler?’”

While wrestling had its sights set on Belair, the feeling wasn’t mutual. At the time, the last thing the future Women’s Champion planned on doing was competing in a ring, despite being aware of WWE’s programming.

“Like, ‘Nah, not really, but I was watch—I’ve seen Total Divas and I joke with my mom like maybe I’ll be a wrestler.”

Eventually, Henry was able to convince Belair to give wrestling a try. As the WWE Hall of Famer explained, Bianca was already training for pro wrestling, without even realizing it at the time.

“You’re basically doing everything that a wrestler does. You’re wearing wrestling gear. You’re wearing entrance pieces. You’re grabbing the microphone.”

Belair’s charisma was already on display in her CrossFit persona. In a precursor to her colorful WWE role, Belair was attracting fans more interested in seeing her than they were in CrossFit

“People would come to the CrossFit events to see what I was going to wear… I’ve been an athlete my whole life, and I don’t know how not to be an athlete.”

Henry was able to get Belair a tryout, though made it clear he couldn’t make WWE hire her. After two tryouts, Belair’s future was secured as a WWE Superstar. While she had Henry rooting for her, she acknowledged not everyone may be so fortunate.

“Listen to your gut, because sometimes you might not have that Mark Henry in your life. You have to be your own Mark Henry.”

Belair’s story shows how there is no guaranteed path for any WWE Superstar. While Belair remains out of action due to an injury, fans eagerly anticipate the in-ring return of the EST.

Grassroots Movement Fuels Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s WWE Momentum

0

The fan-led grassroots movement supporting Karrion Kross and Scarlett shows no sign of slowing down, as the pair continue to be success stories in WWE’s merchandise. As Kross merch continues to sell out at live events and online, fans continue to hope this success translates to a greater role on-screen.

The organic nature of the support hasn’t gone unnoticed. During a recent appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Kross expressed heartfelt appreciation for the growing momentum behind him and Scarlett.

“We’re very honored and we feel very lucky to be seen because we are standing next to so much talent, so many different extraordinary people. We’re standing right next to them — and to be seen as unique and different, and to stand out among those people.”

The ongoing merchandise shortage has become a talking point among fans, with t-shirts reportedly backordered until late July and early August. With Kross merch proving to be in high demand and harder to come by, this has only furthered the fervor of support behind the former NXT Champion.

Though questions remain about Kross and Scarlett’s future in WWE, this support bodes well for whatever comes next. Kross believes this is only the beginning, emphasizing that fans haven’t yet seen the full scope of what he and Scarlett can deliver.

“We are finally being seen for what we can really do — and people haven’t even seen yet what we can really do. It’s been a while.”

Kross can’t help but be humbled by the fan response he’s received. Four years after both he and Scarlett were released and three years after being rehired under Paul Levesque, Kross is appreciating every last moment he can to entertain fans.

“It’s just very humbling, but also it’s very motivating. It’s very invigorating — and we just want to give more.”

With a SummerSlam match looming and his memoir not far behind, Karrion Kross is taking wrestling by storm in and out of the ring. This phenomenon underscores a broader shift in how wrestling success is measured, now not solely with title reigns, but with the connection made with fans.

Triple H Backs Expanding WWE Events: “Disney For Pro Wrestling”

0

WWE SummerSlam 2025 will take place on August 2, and August 3, marking the first time the show has occurred over two nights. And according to Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque, if you’re going to do things big, do them really big.

Speaking on WFAN in New York City with Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata, WWE ‘s Chief Content Officer addressed the change. For Levesque, the success that WrestleMania has seen since being moved to two-nights in 2020 justifies the SummerSlam change.

“Look, it has been successful for us on the WrestleMania side for sure — the two-night WrestleManias are destination weekends. People plan their year, their vacation around it.”

While the two-night SummerSlam will be the focus of this week, it will hardly be WWE’s only attraction. Comparing the show to a Disney production, Levesque noted that fans can easily make a whole week from a two-night show.

“A lot of folks come in on Thursday, they’re going to the World, seeing all the memorabilia, getting autographs, coming to SmackDown on Friday night, then the Saturday-Sunday events. NXT in the afternoon sometimes on Saturdays, all the way through to Monday night. This time, we’ll be at Barclays Center. If you’re a fan, there’s nothing like it. It’s going to Disney for pro wrestling.”

WWE has certainly stacked the card for its first two-night SummerSlam with multiple Men’s and Women’s World title matches confirmed. With an exciting six-team TLC match coming, and the impending debut of Jelly Roll, the show will be big on spectacle.

How An Eddie Kingston Promo Saved A Life, Wrestler Reacts

0

Eddie Kingston has had a long, storied career in wrestling, which has had an impact on countless fans worldwide. Recently, one fan shared how a promo by the former ROH World Champion didn’t just entertain them, but ultimately saved their life.

On X, a recent trend has encouraged fans and wrestlers to share “wrestling lore” about themselves. One fan revealed how it was hearing a promo from Kingston that turned their life around.

“Eddie Kingston and AEW saved my life. Two years ago, I was 207lbs, depressed, and thinking about ending it. Then I saw Eddie’s mental health promo, it hit me hard. I started therapy. I started working out. Now I’m 147lbs and still watching weekly. Thank you Eddie. Thank you AEW.”

While Kingston doesn’t use X anymore, the message found its way to the Mad King. Humbled by how his promo affected someone’s life, Kingston responded saying “I have no word[s].”

Omega isn’t the only AEW name to have had a profound effect on a fan’s life. Earlier this year, a fan shared that they were ready to end it all, but ended up gushing about Kenny Omega after spotting someone in a Bullet Club shirt. This interaction helped the fan down from the proverbial cliff, and earned a response from Omega on X.

These tales demonstrates the uniting force that pro wrestling can bring and provide light at the darkest of times. As Kingston continues to recover from his injury, the Mad King’s influence contineus to be felt.

WWE and AAA Launch New Era with Mexico Performance Center

0

WWE’s acquisition of AAA is already reshaping the future of Lucha Libre as a new training facility is coming to Mexico. In an interview with Superluchas, AAA representative Ernesto Campo confirmed that the new training facility is currently in development when discussing AAA’s future plans under WWE.

“One of them is that the new AAA will have a Performance Center, which will be inaugurated around mid-2026. It’s expected to have both Mexican and American trainers who will help polish the wrestling style of AAA stars.”

While this all sounds similar to WWE’s Performance Center, there will be some key differences. While WWE’s PC in Orlando also plays home to events, the focus on AAA’s Performance Center is strictly training.

“For now, there are no plans for an arena. In the U.S., there’s a division between the Performance Center and the Capital Wrestling Center, where NXT events are recorded. To my knowledge, there’s no such plan here.”

The center will focus on every element of WWE-style presentation — from in-ring technique to mic skills and character development. Mexican trainers will even head to Orlando first to get acquainted with the system they’ll be expected to implement.

“The idea is for wrestlers to train, learn the WWE style, work on mic skills, and develop their characters. Yes. In fact, the Mexican coaches would first spend time in Orlando to learn the style they’re supposed to teach.”

WWE announced it’s acquisition of AAA in April and already, WWE’s influence has been felt. In addition to the highly-praised Worlds Collide event, WWE talents have been at other AAA events, including plans for the upcoming TripleMania.

AAA is home to several rising stars who now could have a future on WWE programming. Whether these rising stars end up in WWE, AAA, or both, the groundwork is officially being laid.

Cody Rhodes Reveals He Felt ‘Disrespected’ in AEW: ‘I Wouldn’t Stand for It’

0

Cody Rhodes has opened up about his controversial departure from AEW, revealing he felt “disrespected” by the company he helped build alongside The Elite.

In a candid interview on The Ringer podcast, Rhodes detailed the personal nature of his exit from All Elite Wrestling in early 2022, drawing a sharp distinction between corporate decisions and personal betrayal.

“If I ever felt disrespected ever at WWE, that’s one thing. That’s a company that was built…that’s the Yankees. That’s the flagship of it all,” Rhodes explained. “Feeling disrespected at something I built with my friends. That we built. Feeling disrespected there, I wouldn’t stand for it.”

The former AEW Executive Vice President emphasized his philosophy on success, stating:

“The greatest revenge on Earth is success. I did way more here than you think, and you’re going to find out the moment I’m out the door.”

Rhodes, who left AEW alongside wife Brandi, acknowledged there’s “clearly bad blood, but there’s also clearly respect and love” between him and his former colleagues Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, and Kenny Omega.

Since returning to WWE, Rhodes has captured the Undisputed WWE Championship and headlined multiple WrestleMania events, seemingly validating his decision to leave the company he co-founded.

Update On Drew McIntyre’s Status For WWE SummerSlam

0

Drew McIntyre has put an end to recent travel concerns, announcing that he is back in the United States and that his scheduled tag team match at WWE SummerSlam this weekend will proceed as planned.

After recent speculation that he may not be able to travel to the U.S. in time for the premium live event, McIntyre confirmed his arrival via his social media accounts on Wednesday. His announcement ensures that one of the marquee matches for the two-night event will go on without any changes.

“The Scottish Warrior” is set to team with Logan Paul to take on the duo of Randy Orton and Grammy-winning musical artist Jelly Roll. The match is one of the most anticipated on the stacked card for the two-night SummerSlam event at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

With McIntyre’s travel issues resolved, all four participants are expected to be present for the final go-home episode of Friday Night SmackDown this week. The show will be the last opportunity for the two teams to have a final confrontation before they collide at “The Biggest Party of the Summer” this Saturday and Sunday.

Released WWE Star Makes Ring Of Honor Debut

0

Oro Mensah, the former WWE NXT star, has made his first appearance since his WWE departure earlier this year. Now going by the single name “Oro,” he competed at tonight’s Ring of Honor television tapings in Chicago.

During the tapings on July 30, Oro made his surprise debut for the promotion. He faced off against NJPW legend Tomohiro Ishii in a hard-hitting singles match. Although Oro came up short in the contest, his quick return to a major promotion has sparked speculation about his future. It is currently unclear if he has signed a contract with ROH or if this was a one-time appearance.

Oro confirmed his exit from WWE back in May. His departure came shortly after his on-screen faction in NXT, Meta-Four, was officially split up on television. Originally signing with WWE in 2019 as Oliver Carter, he found success in NXT UK before being rebranded as Oro Mensah in the U.S. developmental system. Upon his release, he posted a heartfelt message, saying, “Thank you for all the support! love y‘all.”

Oro’s appearance in Ring of Honor continues the trend of recently released WWE talent quickly finding new homes. Karl Fredericks, formerly Eddy Thorpe, who was released in the same round of cuts in May, also recently made his return to the independent circuit. It remains to be seen if Oro’s appearance was a one-off or if he has officially signed a contract with Tony Khan’s promotion.

Alexa Bliss Says Alliance With Wyatt Sicks Would Be ‘Fun To Explore’

0

As she prepares for a championship match at SummerSlam, Alexa Bliss has addressed the possibility of one day joining The Wyatt Sicks faction, stating that it would be “something fun to explore.”

Given her deep on-screen connection to the late Bray Wyatt, many fans have speculated that Bliss would be a logical fit for the group. In a new interview with Fox News Digital, Bliss acknowledged the possibility and recalled a conversation she had with Wyatt.

“Windham always said, ‘Alexa and I will always be connected and when it happens and when we reconnect, it’s gonna be something big.’ So, whether that’s with the Wyatt Sicks or something else, I don’t know,” Bliss said. “I think it would be something fun to explore at some point.”

While an alliance with The Wyatt Sicks may be a future possibility, Bliss made it clear that her current priority is her tag team with Charlotte Flair. She noted that she still keeps elements of her past supernatural character as a nod to her history with Wyatt.

“Right now, I’m having a lot of fun tagging with Charlotte and seeing where that dynamic goes,” she stated. “But obviously, I’m still always going to have a piece of Bray with me with the jacket and the skirt and the character and just kinda keeping it in that same vein in case that doesn’t happen.”

Bliss will be in action on Night One of SummerSlam this Saturday, August 2nd, as she and Charlotte Flair challenge Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. On Night Two, two members of The Wyatt Sicks, Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy, will defend their WWE Tag Team Championships in a massive six-pack TLC match.

Josh Barnett Reveals Scrapped Plan For Match Against Goldberg

0

Josh Barnett has revealed that a dream match between himself and WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg was originally planned to headline last year’s Bloodsport Bushido event in Japan. In a new interview, Barnett explained why the massive crossover bout ultimately did not happen.

Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show on Wednesday to promote this weekend’s Bloodsport XIV event, Barnett revealed the original main event for his June 2024 show from Sumo Hall.

“The original main event was actually going to be me vs. Bill Goldberg. Me and Bill had come to an agreement about it and everything and we were trying to make it happen but at the end of the day it wasn’t something we could put together,” Barnett said. He noted that the match fell through because Goldberg is a “very, very important man with a lot of obligations and contracts.”

While the match didn’t happen, Barnett stated that the door is still open from his side. “Anytime Bill decides that’s something he wants to do then I’m there but he’s had an incredible career,” he said. The comments come just weeks after Barnett was a part of Goldberg’s walk-out entourage for his WWE retirement match. The Bloodsport Bushido event was ultimately headlined by Barnett facing AEW’s Jon Moxley.

While the Goldberg match did not materialize, Barnett is still promoting major crossover bouts for his unique, shoot-style events. The next installment, Bloodsport XIV, takes place this Saturday, August 2nd, in New Jersey. The card features several high-profile inter-promotional matches, including WWE’s Natalya taking on TNA Knockouts World Champion Masha Slamovich, and WWE’s Pete Dunne facing independent star Jonathan Gresham.

Karrion Kross Addresses WWE Contract Status

0

WWE star Karrion Kross remained tight-lipped about his contract situation during a recent appearance on iHeart Radio’s Battleground Podcast, fueling ongoing speculation about his and Scarlett’s futures with the company.

When directly asked about reports suggesting neither he nor Scarlett had re-signed with WWE, Kross offered a carefully measured response.

“I don’t think I should talk about any of it right now but I am hoping that when the time is right everyone will know what’s going on including us,” he stated.”.

The cryptic nature of his comments becomes more intriguing when considered alongside his mention of a mysterious timeline.

“That all really depends on how things went out over the next 30 days. We’ll have to just see kind of what happens,” Kross explained when discussing his teased “world reveal” project.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his contractual status, Kross expressed unwavering commitment to delivering for fans.

“I have every intention of giving people what they want if I’m allowed to. And if I’m not, I’m still gonna find a way to give them what they want,” he declared, suggesting he has contingency plans regardless of how negotiations unfold.

The timing of these comments coincides with unprecedented fan support for the duo. Kross acknowledged the organic movement backing him and Scarlett, noting their merchandise has been selling out both online and at live events.

“We are finally being seen for what we can really do and people people haven’t even seen yet what we can really do,” he emphasized.

His careful word choice—particularly the phrase “if I’m allowed to”—hints at potential creative or contractual limitations that could influence future decisions.

With SummerSlam approaching and his memoir “Life is Fighting” dropping August 5th, the next month could prove pivotal for determining where Karrion Kross and Scarlett land in the wrestling landscape.

Triple H Responds To Criticism Of ‘WWE: Unreal’ Docuseries

0

Following the release of the behind-the-scenes docuseries “WWE: Unreal” on Netflix, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque has responded to criticism that the show pulls back the curtain too much. He defended the decision as a way to build a “deeper connection” with the audience.

Appearing on ESPN’s First Take, Triple H addressed the potential backlash to a series that takes fans inside the WWE writer’s room. He stated that the company was not afraid of criticism and compared it to the regular critique that sports teams face.

“We looked at every aspect of it, and the positives and the negatives, and we weighed it out. You can’t be afraid to do something in life. You can’t be afraid that ‘Well, somebody might criticize us,’” Levesque said. “If we were afraid that people might criticize what we do, we wouldn’t put on a show every week.”

Triple H explained that he believes the transparency of the docuseries will ultimately be a positive for the company and its performers, leading to a greater appreciation from the fanbase.

“I think this just increases the respect level for what we do. I think it builds that deeper connection,” he stated.

Triple H’s defense of the series comes after one of its featured stars, CM Punk, expressed his own mixed feelings about the project. Punk, who comes from an “old school” mentality of protecting the business, stated in recent interviews that he found the idea of the docuseries “really strange,” though he understood its purpose was to serve the fans. The five-episode first season of “WWE: Unreal” is available now on Netflix.

0

Levesque, who has revolutionized WWE’s creative direction and spearheaded the company’s successful Netflix transition, currently oversees content strategy that reaches over one billion fans across 150+ countries in more than 20 languages. His TEDSports presentation will explore the psychology of performance, the art of building compelling rivalry structures, and the universal power of narrative in creating global fandom.

“We’re not about exchanging business cards; we’re about igniting ideas that can change the world. Triple H represents precisely what TEDSports aims to showcase: the power of storytelling and innovative leadership to drive global impact.” – Neelay Bhatt, TEDSports co-chair and curator

The highly curated three-day experience will welcome 700-800 global game-changers, including athletes, executives, investors, and creatives from across academia, business, healthcare, sports technology, and women’s sports. Attendees will participate in immersive talks, fireside chats, collaborative workshops, and exclusive experiences at iconic venues including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Lucas Oil Stadium.

TEDSports co-chair Patrick Talty emphasized the event’s forward-thinking approach, noting that it targets leaders who aren’t just keeping up with industry changes but actively shaping what comes next. The initiative reflects the growing intersection between sports entertainment, technology, and fan engagement strategies that have become central to modern sports presentation.

Triple H’s inclusion underscores wrestling’s evolving influence on broader sports and entertainment landscapes, particularly in storytelling techniques and audience engagement strategies that extend far beyond the squared circle.

Donald Trump: Hulk Hogan Wasn’t Afraid To Take A Stand

0

Donald Trump recently reflected on his long-standing friendship with wrestling icon Hulk Hogan following the latter’s death at the age of 71. Speaking to the press, Trump shared his admiration of the two-time WWE Hall of Famer as someone of great conviction.

“Hulk has always stood for what he believes in, and that’s something I respect deeply. He’s not afraid to evolve and take a stand, whether it’s in the ring or outside of it.”

The connection between Hogan and Trump played out over decades before Hulk’s death at the hands of a reported cardiac arrest. The President’s ‘Trump Plaza’ played host to WrestleManias 4 and 5, both of which would see Hogan in action. The latter would see Hogan regain the WWE Championship, ending the year long reign of ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage.

Away from the ring, Hogan endorsed Trump in the 2024 U.S. Presidential election which would see his fellow WWE Hall of Famer return to the White House. Hogan would throw his weight behind Trump following an assassination attempt, even going as far as to call the two-time President his personal hero.

Hogan’s death has affected many, from the common wrestling fan to the man in the White House. As tributes continue to pour in for the Hulkster, it is clear that Hogan’s influence will continue to be felt.

Bianca Belair Debunks Hair-Whip Rumor: “It’s Not A Sound Effect”

0

Bianca Belair has revealed the truth behind one of wrestling’s most distinctive signature moves, debunking theories that her hair whip is piped-in. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Belair addressed the belief of some that the crack her hair makes when used as a weapon isn’t authentic.

“A lot of people think I add special—like they think the production adds a special effect to it. No, it’s not a sound effect. No. No. And every time that I do it, it’s loud.”

The secret behind the move’s effectiveness lies in Belair’s meticulous preparation before each match. For the EST, everything that goes on backstage is crucial to deliver a crack fans, and her opponents, will remember.

“I have to braid it a certain way for it to make a noise… It’s a special way that I braid it.”

Belair tests if her hair is “match ready” with a series of practice swings. Rather than focusing on how the braid sways, she listens for the sound it makes mid-swing. But like any signature weapon or move, Belair knows that restraint is often the key.

“I don’t do it a lot, too. For one, I don’t want the audience to get used to it. Two, I don’t want to just mark up people every weekend.”

Belair’s calculated use of the hair whip demonstrates her understanding of in-ring psychology. By reserving it for key moments, she preserves its shock value and ensures it remains a powerful tool in both performance and strategy.

While Belair hasn’t had the chance to use her hair whip for some time due to an injury, the EST remains eager to get back in the ring. And for any opponent she may face, it’s not just Belair’s fists and kicks they need to keep an eye on.

Triple H Touts Female Superiority In Learning Pro Wrestling

0

Triple H has shared his thoughts on the performance differences between male and female athletes at the WWE Performance Center, naming women the quicker learners. On the premiere episode of WWE Unreal on Netflix, WWE’s COO argued that women tend to grasp wrestling skills quicker and more efficiently than their male counterparts.

“Their pacing and the understanding of the moments and not arguing about the moments is better than the f****** dudes. To be honest, when you go down to the PC, there’s f****** five women that are great for every guy. It’s like they come in and six months later they’re like f****** really good. The guys are just like starting to figure s*** out. They’re just way smarter than us.”

Despite Triple H’s claim, WWE has spent much of its existence treating women as far below the men, rather than as equals or intellectual superiors. It has only been in the past decade that WWE has made a greater effort with its female storylines, and presentation of the women. For years, the women were seen as mere titilation, though WWE has tried to move on from that and faze out its ‘Divas’ era.

While WWE has made strides, some fans believe not enough has been done. Women still rarely headline Premium Live Events, especially major events from the ‘Big 5.’ While an all-male PLE is often a common occurance, only two all-female events have happened, with a third remaining uncertain.

Triple H’s comments demonstrate that the women in WWE today are proving their worth from the day they arrive. It remains to be seen if a time will come when the women outshine the men in booking, but according to the Game, it’s already happening at the PC.

Hulk Hogan’s Orlando Beach Shop Adorned With Fan Tributes

0

Tributes continue to pour in for Hulk Hogan following the wrestling icon’s passing aged 71 of a reported cardiac arrest. On Instagram, a video showing devoted visitors gathering at Hulk Hogan’s Beach Shop in Orlando to pay tribute has been shared. In the footage, fans place flowers at the property with messages honoring the Hulkster.

This is just one of several tributes to Hulk Hogan, showing the controversial star’s legacy on the world of wrestling and entertainment. WWE has hosted tributes on WWE Raw, WWE SmackDown, and WWE NXT, including the ten-bell salute. Nick Hogan recently paid tribute to his father, calling him both his mentor and his best friend. Hogan’s wife Sky has opened up about her struggles since his passing, admitting that she was not prepared to say goodbye.

With WWE SummerSlam approaching, an event Hogan headlined many times, many expect another tribute during the two-night spectacle. Clearly, the impact Hulk Hogan had on his fans cannot be understated.

GUNTHER On CM Punk: “One Of The Most Unique Performers That The Business Has Ever Had”

0

As he prepares for his massive World Heavyweight Championship defense at SummerSlam this weekend, GUNTHER has shared high praise for his opponent, CM Punk. In a new interview, “The Ring General” called the challenger one of the most unique performers in the history of professional wrestling.

While speaking with Radio Times, GUNTHER expressed his excitement about facing Punk on such a grand stage. He noted that the opportunity to compete against top-tier stars is the reason he came to WWE.

“I’m looking forward to getting in the ring with [Punk] on a big stage like SummerSlam in a prominent spot like that,” said Gunther. “That’s why I joined the company, I wanted to be in the ring with the top, top guys and him coming back was a big deal, he’s one of the most unique performers that the business has ever had.”

The World Heavyweight Champion went on to say that this particular matchup is the one he has been most excited for during his entire championship reign, even more so than his defense against Jey Uso at WrestleMania earlier this year.

“I did ‘Mania with Jey [Uso] but I feel like SummerSlam with Punk from an overall perspective is the one that I’m most excited for so far,” he said.

The highly-anticipated championship match is scheduled to be one of the main events of the two-night SummerSlam premium live event this Saturday and Sunday. According to the final betting odds from BetOnline, CM Punk is the slight favorite at -180 to defeat GUNTHER (+140) and capture the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time.

Crash Victim Reveals Details of Vince McMahon’s 90 MPH Connecticut Collision

0

On Tuesday evening, a high-speed car crash involving WWE executive Vince McMahon shocked the Connecticut community. According to an initial report by TMZ, McMahon’s vehicle was traveling at approximately 90 miles per hour when it collided with another car on the outskirts of Stamford. The incident has since sparked widespread discussion, especially after the crash victim, Barbara Doran, took to Facebook to share her account of the harrowing event.

In her detailed Facebook post, Doran described the moments leading up to the collision, stating, “I saw headlights coming fast in my rearview mirror, and before I knew it, there was a loud crash. I’m grateful to be alive.”

Doran’s post quickly gained traction, with friends and local residents expressing concern and support in the comments. She also claimed that McMahon appeared disoriented at the scene and that emergency responders arrived within minutes.

Authorities have confirmed that McMahon is facing legal charges related to reckless driving and endangerment. The Stamford Police Department released a statement indicating that the investigation is ongoing and that both parties were treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital. Legal experts suggest that, given the high speed and public profile of those involved, the case could attract significant media attention in the coming weeks.

This incident comes at a time when McMahon and WWE are already under scrutiny for other controversies. The crash and subsequent revelations from Doran’s Facebook post have only intensified the spotlight on McMahon’s personal conduct.

AEW Women’s Tag Team Title Plans Delayed Due To Injuries

0

AEW President Tony Khan has provided an update on the long-awaited AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships, confirming that the titles exist but their introduction has been delayed. The reason, he explained in a new interview, is a recent string of significant injuries in the women’s division.

Speaking to Iridian Fierro of WGN Radio, Khan stated his desire to hold a tournament to crown the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions. However, he lamented the number of injuries coming out of the recent All In: Texas pay-per-view.

“There has been so much injury in the women’s division, and as the person who put together the Women’s Casino Gauntlet, I wish that we had come out of it healthier,” Khan said. “A quarter of the people in the match got knocked out of the match and out of action indefinitely. So we had one match where I lost 25% of the roster in one match.” He specifically named Syuri, Thunder Rosa, and Mina Shirakawa as being injured in the bout.

Khan noted that he has the championship belts made and ready, but he needs a healthy and stable division to support them. The injury situation is also affecting the Ring of Honor brand, as he revealed the reigning ROH Women’s World TV champion, Red Velvet, is also out, and the interim champion crowned in her place, Mina Shirakawa, was one of the wrestlers injured at All In.

“Having multiple situations with some of these injuries is part of why it has not made sense with the state of the roster to do that, but it is something I am interested in doing,” Khan said of the tag titles. “I have the belts. I’ve made the belts. They exist, but I will put them into play when we are able to put the very best full roster forward.”

While the division deals with numerous injuries, the AEW Women’s World Championship picture continues to move forward. On tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the reigning champion, “Timeless” Toni Storm, is scheduled to face Billie Starkz in a title eliminator match. Starkz is an ally of the number one contender, Athena, who won the Casino Gauntlet match at All In where the injuries occurred.

  • August 24 – Forbidden Door – London, England
  • September 20 – All Out – Toronto, Canada

Drew McIntyre’s SummerSlam Status Remains in Jeopardy

With SummerSlam just days away, WWE finds itself in crisis management mode as Drew McIntyre’s participation hangs in the balance due to a legitimate travel emergency.

The Scottish Warrior revealed he’s stranded in the UK after attending a friend’s wedding, having misplaced his passport at the worst possible time. McIntyre was scheduled to team with Logan Paul against Randy Orton and musician Jelly Roll in what promised to be one of SummerSlam’s most intriguing encounters.

WWE officials are actively working behind the scenes with “wheels in motion” for alternative plans should McIntyre fail to resolve his travel situation by Friday’s SmackDown. PWInsider confirmed the passport issue is legitimate and not storyline.

McIntyre has taken to social media to address the crisis, jokingly blaming Jelly Roll for his predicament while vowing to make the musician “pay” if he misses their confrontation. The social media exchanges have added entertainment to what is otherwise a logistical nightmare for WWE’s creative team.

The Miz has already volunteered to step in as a replacement partner for Logan Paul, though WWE hasn’t officially announced contingency plans. Friday’s SmackDown will likely provide clarity on McIntyre’s status, with WWE expected to either confirm his participation or unveil alternative plans.

Sting Opens Up About Love and Respect for Hulk Hogan

WWE Hall of Famer Sting recently opened up about his deep respect and admiration for Hulk Hogan during an appearance for Big Time Wrestling, delivering heartfelt comments about their professional relationship and Hogan’s impact on the wrestling industry.

“Hulk means so much to me. I’m glad I got this opportunity to talk about it. This is my first opportunity to say that I love Hulk Hogan. I still love him. I’m going to miss him. He was a contributor to the wrestling industry as a whole like no one else.” – Sting

The Icon reflected on their successful partnership during WCW’s golden era, emphasizing how Hogan elevated everyone around him. Sting revealed that their matches broke attendance records across the United States and generated record-breaking pay-per-view buy rates.

When Hogan first arrived in WCW, some wrestlers questioned whether Sting felt pushed aside. His response demonstrated remarkable professionalism and business acumen.

“I said, ‘No, I don’t feel like that at all. I feel like we have the King of Kings here. Hulk Hogan is going to help put butts in seats. We’re all going to make more money. We’re all going to get better ratings. It’s going to be good all the way around.'” – Sting

Sting concluded by praising Hogan as someone who transcended wrestling itself, calling him “the first” to achieve that level of mainstream success and cultural impact.

Their Relationship

Throughout decades in the wrestling industry, Sting and Hulk Hogan shared a dynamic relationship that oscillated between rivalry and deep mutual respect, forging a connection shaped as much by headline clashes as by backstage camaraderie.

Their paths first famously intersected in the high-stakes atmosphere of WCW, with Sting representing the company’s heroic heart and Hogan transforming into its most controversial antagonist as “Hollywood” Hogan.

Even as their characters feuded on screen—culminating in legendary bouts and storyline twists—the two men built a genuine friendship behind the scenes, grounded in a shared understanding of wrestling’s demands and the pressures of sustaining popularity through eras of change.

Sting has spoken often about how their differences in persona only enriched their personal connection; whether as opponents or occasional allies, their professional interplay fostered an enduring bond, marked by honesty, support, and a mutual appreciation for each other’s role in reshaping wrestling history.
