WWE x AAA Worlds Collide II Announced for September 12, 2025 in Las Vegas

0

WWE has announced the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide II event for September 12, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The announcement was made during AAA’s TripleMania XXXIII event on Saturday night.

The event will take place at The Pavilion at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, with a 10 PM ET start time. This means it will air immediately after SmackDown on Friday night.

Tickets for Worlds Collide II will go on sale on August 22nd.

Background

This will be the second collaborative event between WWE and AAA after WWE’s acquisition of the lucha libre promotion. The first Worlds Collide took place in June at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, where El Hijo del Vikingo defeated Chad Gable to retain the AAA Mega Championship.

The promotional materials feature several wrestlers including Rey Mysterio, El Hijo del Vikingo, Mr. Iguana, Rey Fenix, and Lince Dorado. While specific matches haven’t been announced yet, the event is expected to showcase talent from both WWE and AAA rosters, potentially featuring bigger names from WWE’s main roster.

The announcement comes as WWE continues to strengthen its partnership with AAA, bringing together both companies’ unique wrestling styles and fan bases for this crossover event.

John Cena Says He Failed Early Into WWE Heel Run

0

John Cena stunned fans in March 2025 by turning heel, marking Cena’s first official run as a villain in over two decades. In the proceeding weeks, John would explain his heel turn in promos, but believes these didn’t live up to expectations.

Cena’s first post-heel turn appearance came in Brussels, Belgium, though he received a mixed response as many fans cheered the WWE icon. Speaking at Fan Expo Chicago, Cena opened up on what he believes was a failure in Europe.

“I wasn’t upset. No, I failed. Ain’t nothing wrong with that. You can learn from failure, right? I went up there and bombed. S*** happens.”

When asked about the decision to turn heel, John kept coy, saying he would address it after his retirement. Cena made clear he doesn’t want to spoil anything about the remainder of his WWE career, even by accident in interviews.

John has since turned face again and is set to battle Logan Paul later this month. While many fans appreciate Cena giving a heel turn many fans thought they’d never see, the WWE icon is ready to go out as his authentic self.

Mandy Rose Recalls WWE NXT Herpes Outbreak

0

Mandy Rose’s had two runs in WWE NXT, her first as a young star in training and her second as an established Superstar of the ring. Speaking with her husband and former NXT talent Tino Sabbatelli on their Power Alphas podcast, Mandy recalled having to clean the rings early into her WWE career.

“We had to clean the rings in NXT ’cause there was like a— a herpes outbreak, guys. I don’t even know if everyone knows that one.”

Several Superstars were forced to clean the ring, not just to keep things hygenic, but also as a sign of humility early into their careers. For Rose, she believes this approach helped keep talent humble, no matter what success they may have had before WWE.

“This is the beautiful thing too. I get why they do this for most people as well. It’s because there’s always, you know, a bottom. You always have to work your way up.”

Mandy contrasted her early years with WWE’s current developmental approach where talent arrive in various manners. Whether its an indie talent, a huge name from elsewhere, or an NIL signing, Rose believes that newcomers dring her time were expected to set up lights and clean mats.

Cleaning a ring after a herpes outbreak may sound extreme, but for Mandy and her peers, it was simply part of paying dues. For Rose, who hasn’t wrestled since WWE, it was all a lesson in keeping herself humble in the massive promotion.

Sami Callihan Is Ready After TNA Wrestling Retirement

0

Sami Callihan retired from in-ring competition at TNA Emergence, after losing a brutal Baltimore Street Fight to Mike Santana. Taking to X, Callihan gave a statement, sharing gratitude for what has come and excitement for what’s next.

According to Fightful Select, the former TNA World Champion has been struggling physically following a string of serious injuries. In addition to that, Callihan has been “helping out behind the scenes a lot lately.” When not working for TNA either on or off screen, Callihan promotes the Pro Wrestling Revolver promotion.

Callihan received a fitting send-off during the show by the crowd as well as those backstage. While many wrestlers lined up to pay respect, Eric Young disrupted the moment, blaming Joe Hendry for TNA’s issues. This earned a response from Hendry, teasing a future feud. As for Callihan, he had a message for the fans after the event.

For Callihan, though, this was a send-off after an impressive in-ring career both in and out of TNA. Whatever comes next, Callihan is dedicated to giving his all, even if it won’t be within the squared circle.

Rey Mysterio: I Will Bring Alberto El Patron Back

0

Alberto El Patron will make a return to WWE, if Rey Mysterio has anything to say about it, despite the former World Champion’s bad blood within the Sports Entertainment giant. Appearing at WWExAAA Worlds Collide, Mysterio responded to the fans chanting for Alberto. In Spanish, the WWE Hall of Famer told the crowd “I’ll bring him, wait on me.”

Mysterio’s bold claim comes in spite of WWE’s attitude to El Patron. WWE reportedly never has plans to bring back Alberto, who was released in 2014 and 2016. At the time of the acquisition of AAA, WWE distanced itself from Alberto, then the AAA Mega Champion. WWE did not feature El Patron following the acquisition and quickly had him lose the title to El Hijo del Vikingo.

El Patron and Mysterio have an established past, as Rey was Alberto’s first opponent upon his WWE arrival in 2010. Now, fans can expect the pair to fight again in a WWE ring, if Mysterio has his way.

Omos Returns and Wins Copa Bardahl at AAA Triplemanía XXXIII

0

WWE’s Omos returned to action at AAA Triplemanía XXXIII, winning the Copa Bardahl Battle Royal to open the event.

This marked Omos’s first WWE-related appearance since the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in April 2024. After sitting out the remainder of 2024, he competed for Pro Wrestling NOAH, winning the GHC Tag Team Championships before relinquishing the titles.

During the battle royal, Omos delivered a memorable moment by dropping Microman with a big boot, highlighting their dramatic size difference. The match came down to a final four of Omos, Mecha Wolf, La Parka, and Octagón Jr., with Omos ultimately defeating La Parka in the final two.

The victory at Mexico’s premier wrestling event demonstrates Omos’s continued value as an international attraction while exploring opportunities outside WWE programming.

How Hulk Hogan’s Funeral Helped D-Von Dudley Bury The Hatchet

0

D-Von Dudley spent several years in TNA Wrestling under Dixie Carter’s leadership. While there were some issues between the two sides, they became a thing of the past during the funeral of Hulk Hogan.

Speaking on Duke Loves Rasslin, Dudley said the ceremony was bittersweet. While he was grateful to reconnect with many he’s worked with, he was sad that it took the death of a wrestling icon to put them in touch. For D-Von, the ceremony was his first face-to-face with Carter since his exit from TNA.

“We had said little things to each other here and there in texts and comments on posts about the kids and stuff. Other than that, we really hadn’t seen each other in a while.”

Dudley admitted that any hard feelings he once carried toward TNA had faded away. Instead of letting long-standing issues simmer, D-Von meeting Carter again gave him the closure he needed.

“The hard feelings that I might have had for the company during that time were all washed away, you know? It was the old regime that I had problems letting go of my feelings with.”

With a fresh mindset, D-Von can look back on his time working under Carter more favorably. Reuniting with her helped D-Von move on from what he felt was an unceremonious exit from TNA over a decade earlier.

“I was able to finally let go when I saw Dixie, and we talked, we laughed, we joked, and we said, you know, it shouldn’t take things like this to bring us together.”

D-Von will soon return to TNA Wrestling as he and Bubba will challenge the Hardys for the TNA World Tag Team Titles. And when D-Von Dudley next steps foot in a TNA ring, he will do so without the bitterness of the past.

WWE Alum Re-Signs With TNA At Emergence Event

0

One former WWE Superstar will be sticking with TNA Wrestling after re-signing with the promotion at the Emegence event. During a segment, TNA President Carlos Silva, Tommy Dreamer, Jazz, Xia Brookside, Masha Slamovich, and Léi Y?ng Lee appeared in the ring.

Dreamer announced that TNA had a new contract to offer Lee and spoke highly of the former Superstar. Lee was visibly moved by the words and signed a new contract, keeping her as a TNA Knockout.

Lee was part of WWE for seven years where she worked under the ring name Xia Li. The first Chinese woman to compete in a WWE ring, Lee spent years in WWE NXT before being called up to the main roster in 2021.

Lee has faced some of TNA’s top names since her arrival in September 2024, including challenge for the Knockouts Title at Against All Odds 2025. While she is yet to hold gold in TNA, this new contract means it may be just a matter of time before Lee wins a championship.

Xavier Woods Seeks TNA Icon’s Help Ahead Of Penta Match

0

Xavier Woods will battle Penta during the August 18, episode of WWE Raw, and the New Day member is seeing the edge. At the latest tapng of SmackDown, Woods spoke with Petey Williams, the TNA alum who now works behind the scenes for WWE.

Woods sought Williams advice for how to counter Penta’s Mexican Destroyer, a move Williams used during his in-ring career. When Petey clarified that the move is the Canadian Destroyer, Woods argued that the Mexican Destroyer is more impressive, prompting Williams to walk off without giving him advice.

Penta Vs. Woods won’t be the only highlight of the August 18, Raw, set to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Roman Reigns, CM Punk, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Rhea Ripley, and Jey Uso are all slated to appear.

Penta has put several opponents away with his Mexican Destroyer since his arrival in WWE in January of this year. While Woods hopes to avoid a similar fate, he will have to walk into the match without the knowledge of how to counter the devastating finisher.

King Of The Hill Takes Over SmackDown With In-Ring Branding

0

King of the Hill is back on the air, and the show’s influence ws impossible to miss during the August 15, episode of WWE SmackDown. The ring featured a custom wrestling mat with the King of the Hill logo prominently displayed in the center. LED boards around the arena and ring posts were lit up, highlighting the return of the animated show.

It’s not just on-screen that WWE’s crossover with King of the Hill can be felt. Sheamus and Johnny Gargano will create videos inspired by moments from the show, Variety reports.

The new season of King of the Hill is now streaming on Hulu, and has been well-received by fans so far. While Hank, his family, and his friends didn’t appear in person during SmackDown, the show demonstrated WWE’s willingness to dive deep into crossover branding.

Sami Callihan Seemingly Retires After TNA Emergence Losos

0

Sami Callihan kept his promise by retiring after his loss at the TNA Emergence event. Going into the show, the stipulation was clear: If Callihan didn’t defeat Mike Santana in their Baltimore Street Fight, the former Impact World Champion would be foroced to retire.

Callihan was defeated after Santana hit him with Spin The Block. True to his word, Callihan left his boots in the ring and exited the squared circle for the last time.

Backstage, TNA talent greeted him with respect and appreciation, though Eric Young had a different response. Young, also a former World Champion, told Callihan “Don’t buy into the love of your peers.” Young then shifted his focus to Joe Hendry. “Everything in TNA that’s going wrong right now is Hendry’s fault.”

Callihan leaves wrestling with over 1,000 matches to his name and several title reigns both in and out of TNA. With in-ring retirements often resulting in in-ring returns, it remains to be seen if he is truly gone for good.

Karrion Kross Responds To Fan Chants During WWE SmackDown

0

Former WWE superstar Karrion Kross has responded to the fans who chanted his name during the opening segment of last night’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The newly minted free agent made it clear that he heard their support.

During the in-ring confrontation between Sami Zayn and the United States Champion, Solo Sikoa, audible chants of “We want Kross” could be heard from the live crowd in Montreal. The chants quickly became a topic of discussion online.

Kross himself took to his social media shortly after the segment to respond to the fans who are still showing their support for him even after his departure from the company. In a simple but direct post, he wrote, “I hear you.”

The chants and Kross’s response come just days after his WWE contract officially expired on August 10. The situation surrounding his exit has been a major story, with many fans speculating that it could be an elaborate storyline. However, in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Kross insisted the situation is real.

“I’m not trying to turn this into a game. It’s not a game for me, it’s my life,” Kross said. He confirmed that while he still wants to be with WWE and is open to talking, he is officially a free agent.

The continued fan support for Kross comes as he and Scarlett are beginning to fill up their schedule for the fall. They are now accepting independent bookings and have been announced for several major conventions, including The Big Event EXS in New York on November 15. Whether the “We want Kross” chants will influence WWE to resume negotiations remains to be seen.

WWE Raw Star Officially Transferred To SmackDown

0

Former Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn has officially been transferred from the Raw roster to Friday Night SmackDown. The Canadian star revealed the news himself during a tense in-ring confrontation with The Bloodline on tonight’s episode.

The show featured an in-ring segment with the reigning United States Champion, Solo Sikoa, and his faction members, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and JC Mateo. They were interrupted by the arrival of Sami Zayn.

Zayn declared that he was coming for the one championship he has never held in WWE, the United States Title. After Sikoa told him to leave because he wasn’t a member of the SmackDown roster, Zayn dropped the bombshell, informing the champion that he has been officially transferred to the blue brand.

The confrontation quickly turned physical, with Sikoa and his allies attacking Zayn. The save was made by Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu, which led to a six-man tag team match between the two sides being made for the main event of the show.

Zayn has a legitimate claim to a title shot, as he recently pinned Solo Sikoa in a tag team match on the August 8 episode of SmackDown.

Zayn’s official move to the blue brand and his challenge for the United States Championship immediately injects a new top babyface into the main event picture on Friday nights. The full confrontation between Sami Zayn and The Bloodline can be seen below:

Naomi To Provide Injury Update On WWE Raw

0

WWE has announced that the Women’s World Champion, Naomi, will appear on this coming Monday’s episode of Raw. The announcement was made during Friday night’s broadcast of SmackDown.

Naomi is scheduled to be on the August 18th episode of Raw to address her current medical status. The champion’s appearance comes after she was unexpectedly pulled from this past week’s show just hours before it went on the air.

“The Glow” was originally scheduled to defend her Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY in the main event of the August 11th episode of Raw. However, WWE announced that she was not medically cleared to compete, and the match was canceled without a specific reason being given.

There was no update on Naomi’s condition provided during the Raw broadcast, leaving her status in question. This situation has also put her next scheduled title defense in jeopardy. Naomi is slated to defend the Women’s World Championship against Stephanie Vaquer, the winner of the Evolution Battle Royal, at the WWE Clash in Paris premium live event on August 31. Fans will be eagerly awaiting her update on Monday to find out if that match will still take place.

Also announced for this Monday’s episode of Raw is a major inter-promotional singles match, as the LWO’s Penta is scheduled to go one-on-one with The New Day’s Xavier Woods.

Toni Storm Battles Power Girl For New DC Comics Title

0

‘Timeless’ Toni Storm has battled some of wrestling’s top names in AEW, and now the Women’s World Champion is taking on DC Comics’ Power Girl. The two appear engaged in battle on a variant cover of DC K.O. #2

image

The new series follows a test of some of DC’s greatest heroes and villains, forced to do battle in a massive collision of names. A preview for issue 2 reads:

The tournament is in full swing. Heroes have fallen. Darkseid is near. The 32 champions have been chosen, and now they must compete to earn the Heart of Apokolips. The first challenge? Battling across a deadly arena to acquire new weapons of war. The greatest powers of the DC Universe are up for grabs, and whoever holds them will advance to the next level. Superman has his doubts that the Justice League is doing the right thing, but there are others who have no problem killing to get what they want…

Storm’s appearance on the variant cover demonstrates how AEW’s top woman continues to attract attention, both in and out of the ring. The Timeless One was one of six AEW wrestlers spotlighted in short stories that appeared within issues of DC Comics titles in 2024. The stories were collected into the AEW Origins hardcover.

In the ring, Storm continues to shine, even with the forerver-champion of ROH Athena looming. Whether it’s Athena, Mercedes Mone, or Power Girl, Toni Storm is proving Timeless in every facet.

Latest On Liv Morgan’s Injury, Potential Return Date

0

Liv Morgan’s recovery from shoulder surgery is progressing, but it appears her return to the ring is still months away. According to a new PWInsider Elite update, Morgan was scheduled for a medical evaluation this week to check on her progress.

The current hope within WWE is that Morgan will be cleared for in-ring action by early 2026, provided her recovery continues on schedule. Morgan has been out of action since June after suffering a shoulder injury.

Morgan underwent surgery in Birmingham, Alabama, under the care of Dr. Jeff Dugas at Andrews Sports Medicine, a facility familiar to injured WWE talent. While an exact date for a return remains unclear, her rehab is going well according to Dr. Kevin Wilk, Associate Clinical Director and Co-Founder of Champion Sports Medicine.

Morgan’s injury has robbed WWE of one of it’s very top female Superstars. 2024 saw Morgan hold the Women’s World Championship for the majority of the year while 2025 saw herself and Raquel Rodriguez reclaim the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

With the women’s division continuing to evolve in her absence, all eyes will be on how Morgan re-enters the scene — and whether her time away fuels an even bigger comeback.

Latest On Karrion Kross & Scarlett Post-WWE, Indie Role

0

Karrion Kross and Scarlett are asking for top-tier rates on the independent wrestling scene following their WWE departure, it has been claimed. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, someone involved in indie wrestling mentioned the couple is charing a “very high price tag” for their services.

While no figure was given in the report, this reported price tag reflects that the star power the pair would bring to an event. The source added that after their conversation with Kross and Scarlett “they weren’t buying any of this regarding the WWE departure.”

Many have been skeptical about whether Kross and Scarlett have actually left WWE, though Kross has claimed this is not a ‘work.’ Given recent circumstances, including Seth Rollins’ fake injury, it’s not difficult to see why some fans aren’t exactly trusting what Kross is claiming.

The couple’s next confirmed appearance is at The Big Event NY’s “EXS Entertainment x Sports Expo” on November 15. It remains to be seen what’s next for the pair, but they’re certainly not afraid to charge big for their services.

Latest On Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis’ WWE Departure

0

Ashante “Thee” Adonis is officially gone from WWE after the promotion opted not to renew his contract. Now, more has come to light about this situation and why the Hit Row member was shown the exit.

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE deliberately chose not to re-sign Adonis due to money. It is stated that despite being used exclusively in NXT, Adonis had a main roster contract, which pays better than an NXT deal.

According to Meltzer, WWE determined it made more financial sense to let the deal run its course rather than cut him and trigger a 90-day non-compete payout.

“Given his contract would have expired at roughly the same time if they didn’t cut him, essentially they just paid him for the last three months of his deal, just as they would have with a 90-day non-compete.”

In WWE NXT, Adonis had a romantic storyline with Karmen Petrovic build for months before being quietly dropped in early 2025. This departure marks Adonis’ second exit from WWE as Hit Row was released in 2021 but the majority of the group’s members were rehired in 2022.

Now a free agent, Adonis has the opportunity to work and sign with whoever he chooses. It remains to be seen if AEW, TNA Wrestling, NJPW, or another path is in his future.

Drew McIntyre Doubles Down On WWE Roster Critique

0

Drew McIntyre isn’t backing away from his blunt assessment of the WWE locker room after claiming many Superstars don’t look fit for wrestling. Speaking to Wrestling Republic, McIntyre was asked about Jelly Roll’s recent in-ring appearance and used the moment to reinforce his belief that most WWE stars are missing key qualities.

“I don’t know why it was so controversial. The 85% — maybe I’m a little off. Maybe it’s like 82% of the roster. It’s like they don’t — they shouldn’t be WWE superstars.”

McIntyre made clear that his previous comment wasn’t necessarily about size alone, but about other wrestling attributes. Whether it’s presence, athleticism, or effort, McIntyre finds many of his colleagues sorely lacking.

“It would help to look like an athlete, my god. It’s like, you know, you’re in there — World Wrestling Entertainment. Wrestling’s still in there. Athletic endeavor. At least look like an athlete.”

While being in shape is important to McIntyre, the last thing he wants is identical well-sculpted wrestlers. For the Scottish Warrior, talent need an X-factor to keep them unique.

“What’s going to make you stand out from the other guy that’s really good at wrestling or really good at high-flying — and what if a knee injury comes and you can’t do that style anymore?”

McIntyre concluded with a clear warning to talent: take things more seriously, especially given all the resources at their disposal.

“Just freaking think about it and stand out. And also get in the damn gym. You’ve got all the free time in the world. You get paid a bunch of money now. Everybody makes money now. You get no freaking excuse — sitting on your couch eating pizza.”

McIntyre recently returned to WWE programming and has set his sights on WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Stay tuned to see if another title reign is in the future of the Scottish Warrior.

Drew McIntyre Sets Sights On WWE Title & Cody Rhodes

0

Cody Rhodes regained the WWE Championship at SummerSlam 2025, but his reign will be short-lived if Drew McIntyre has his way. Speaking to the Wrestling Republic, McIntyre made clear he has his eyes on the American Nightmare.

“I want to be the one to take the title off him and teach him the hard way the reality of the wrestling world, the reality of the world.”

McIntyre and Rhodes have a long history and briefly held the WWE Tag Team Championships in 2010. For McIntyre, there is a world of difference between the two, despite their similarities.

“[We’re at] different destinations. Where I open my eyes to the truth of it — so many things — and he’s so desperate to be liked, so desperate for attention.”

McIntyre claimed that Rhodes is “still in the mindset I was in, in 2020,” a year McIntyre captured the WWE Championship twice. Now, McIntyre has a far more dangerous mindset, one he believes will lead him to a third reign.

Rhodes’ initial reign as WWE Champion lasted for over a year before his crushing loss at WrestleMania 41. Now with gold around his waist again, Rhodes will once again see how winning a title and keeping one are very different things.

WWE Eyes TNA Wrestling as Strategic Move Against AEW Competition

0

The professional wrestling landscape could be headed for another major shakeup, as WWE reportedly holds an option to acquire TNA Wrestling. With former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta rumored to be in acquisition talks and WWE actively helping TNA secure a new television deal, industry insiders believe the company is positioning itself for a strategic expansion that could directly challenge AEW’s growing influence.

The potential deal would not only bring TNA’s extensive tape library under WWE’s umbrella but could also establish a “controlled” secondary promotion to compete head-to-head with AEW programming.

While no agreements have been finalized, the ongoing negotiations represent WWE’s most significant move yet to counter AEW’s momentum and reshape the competitive wrestling landscape.

Recent industry reports suggest that WWE has secured a formal option to acquire TNA Wrestling, marking a significant development in the company’s expansion strategy. This arrangement mirrors previous deals WWE has negotiated with other wrestling promotions, establishing a framework that could lead to full acquisition.

The option appears to be directly connected to the multi-year partnership and ongoing collaboration between the two companies that began in early 2025, creating a foundation for deeper integration.

Lorenzo Fertitta Emerges as Key Figure in Acquisition Talks

Former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta has become a central figure in discussions surrounding TNA’s potential sale, as first reported by Fightful Select. Fertitta, who maintains close ties to TKO Group (the parent company of both WWE and UFC), is reportedly involved in negotiations to purchase TNA from current owner Anthem Sports.

While these discussions have gained significant momentum over the past week, industry sources emphasize that no final agreement has been reached. Fertitta’s involvement adds considerable weight to the acquisition rumors, given his successful track record in sports entertainment and his existing relationship with WWE’s corporate structure.

Strategic TV Deal Negotiations Target AEW Competition

WWE is reportedly leveraging its industry influence to help secure a new television deal for TNA, with the strategic goal of positioning the promotion in direct competition with AEW Dynamite’s Wednesday night programming.

Confirmed discussions with networks including CW and A&E, both of which maintain existing relationships with WWE, suggest a coordinated effort to establish what industry insiders describe as a new “Wednesday Night Wars.”

This approach reflects WWE’s preference for TNA as a “controlled” secondary promotion that could effectively challenge AEW’s growing market share without threatening WWE’s primary position.

Key Strategic Objective: WWE stakeholders view TNA as an ideal vehicle to create controlled competition that could undermine AEW’s momentum while maintaining WWE’s dominant market position.

TNA’s Future as WWE Branch

Wrestling industry experts believe WWE’s ultimate goal involves absorbing TNA as an official branch of the company, building upon their current working relationship and talent-sharing agreements.

This integration would represent a significant expansion of WWE’s promotional structure, potentially creating multiple tiers of programming that could serve different audience segments while maintaining centralized control. The prospect of TNA becoming a WWE subsidiary has gained credibility given the companies’ increasingly intertwined operations and the success of their collaborative efforts.

Valuable Tape Library Acquisition

A particularly significant aspect of any potential WWE acquisition would be the inclusion of TNA’s extensive tape library, which contains decades of wrestling content featuring numerous stars who later achieved prominence in WWE.

Notable figures including Kurt Angle have expressed strong expectations that WWE’s purchase would make this historical content available to a much broader audience through WWE’s distribution channels. The tape library represents substantial value both for content programming and for historical documentation of professional wrestling’s evolution over the past two decades.

Blocking AEW’s Expansion Efforts

Industry analysts suggest that one significant motivation behind WWE’s support for TNA involves preventing AEW from securing television deals and international broadcasting slots previously held by TNA.

This defensive strategy is particularly relevant in markets such as India, where TNA has maintained a presence that could potentially be leveraged by competitors. By maintaining influence over TNA’s broadcasting arrangements, WWE can effectively limit AEW’s opportunities for global expansion while strengthening its own international footprint.

Current Status and Future Developments

Despite the significant speculation and reported negotiations, all involved parties emphasize that no final agreements have been executed. TNA’s leadership has confirmed that discussions remain ongoing, with additional meetings scheduled throughout the month to address both the television deal negotiations and the potential sale.

The complex nature of these negotiations, involving multiple parties and significant financial considerations, suggests that any final resolution may still be weeks or months away.

The wrestling industry continues to watch these developments closely, as the outcome could fundamentally alter the competitive landscape and establish new paradigms for how major promotions interact and compete in the modern entertainment market.

Naomi & Jimmy Uso Share Leadership Lessons: Protect Your Peace and Energy

0

WWE Women’s World Champion Naomi and Jimmy Uso have shared crucial insights about maintaining personal boundaries and protecting mental health while navigating demanding wrestling careers.

Setting Boundaries and Protecting Energy

“Protect your peace and your energy—even with family,” Naomi emphasized during their appearance on Stephanie McMahon’s “What’s Your Story?” podcast, highlighting lessons learned during her time away from WWE.

The champion stressed the importance of saying no without guilt, particularly when it comes to financial requests and time demands. “It’s okay to say no… you can be taken advantage of—even if people don’t mean it,” she explained.

Overcoming Self-Doubt

Apollo Crews Returns To In-Ring Training Following Major Injury

0

After being sidelined for nearly seven months with a serious pectoral injury, WWE superstar Apollo Crews has taken a major step toward his in-ring return. A new video posted online shows Crews back in the ring, training for the first time since his surgery.

The video was shared by independent wrestler Eli Knight, who was working out with Crews at “The Dungeon” training facility. The clip shows the former Intercontinental Champion practicing in the ring, a significant and positive sign in his long recovery process and enough to get fans talking about his eventual comeback.

Crews has been out of action since his last match on the January 24, 2024, episode of Friday Night SmackDown, where he defeated Johnny Gargano. It was during that bout that Crews suffered a torn pectoral muscle, a serious injury that required surgery and has kept him on the shelf ever since.

During his time away, Crews has remained focused, graduating from college with honors and keeping fans updated on his rehabilitation through his social media posts.

While WWE has not announced an official return date, this in-ring training is a positive sign that Crews is in the final stages of his recovery.
