NXT Superstar Reveals Shoulder Injury After Months Out of the Ring

0

WWE NXT Superstar Brinley Reece has clarified why fans haven’t seen her in the ring in recent months: she’s dealing with a shoulder injury. On Instagram, Reece shared that she had successfully undergone shoulder surgery. The vlog shows Reece getting ready in the morning ahead of her procedure, and later cuts to Reece after the operation that lasted a couple of hours.

Reece’s most recent match came at an NXT live event in Bartow, Florida on March 22, where she came up short against Karmen Petrovic. In addition to WWE NXT, Reece has been competing on WWE Evolve this year, and made a handful of appearances for TNA Wrestling in October 2024.

Brinley Reece joined WWE in 2022 and debuted the following year by replacing the injured Jakara Jackson in the 2023 Women’s NXT Breakout Tournament. Now, Reece will have to focus on her recovery before she can consider a return to in-ring competition.

0

New tag team championships are coming to New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Tamashii brand, which is based in the Oceania region.

The inaugural champions will be crowned in a one-night tournament at Tamashii: Cold War, taking place Friday, July 4, at the Mangere Arts Centre in Auckland, New Zealand. In a statement, NJPW hyped up the upcoming event.

“In the rich tradition of tag team wrestling in Oceania, TAMASHII’s teams have been the cornerstone of the brand since its inception, with the Pretty Boys (Mark Tui & Richard Mulu), Ungrateful 1’s (Trent Hooper & TJ Illes), Jungle Fury (Johnny Gunn & Bruno Astro) and more being joined recently by the returning Youngblood (Oskar Leube & Yuto Nakashima) as they continue their international excursions.”

Tamashii launched in 2022 to showcase talent from NJPW’s New Zealand Dojo, led by head trainer Bad Luck Fale. These titles will be the brand’s first official championships though NJPW previously held an Oceania Cup tournament in 2024, with Jack Bonza emerging as the inaugural winner.

Mick Foley Debunks $2.88 Million WWE Ambassador Salary Reports

0

Wrestling legend Mick Foley has directly addressed and debunked widely circulated reports claiming he earns $2.88 million annually as a WWE ambassador, revealing the stark reality behind the inflated figures.

“I don’t have an ambassador job that pays me $2.88 million as has been reported,” Foley stated during a recent interview with The Wrestling Classic. “I don’t think I’d be out on the road 200 days a year if I was making $2.88 million a year to be an ambassador.”

The hardcore legend, who continues his grueling travel schedule for appearances and his one-man show tour, painted a much different picture of his current financial situation. When asked about his luxurious lifestyle, Foley responded with characteristic humor: “I’m in a rented minivan right now. I sure am.”

Foley clarified that while he maintains a strong relationship with WWE and benefits from an improved legends deal, he currently holds no official ambassador contract. “I do not have any ambassador contract, let alone an ambassador contract for $2.88 million a year,” he emphasized, calling the revelation “breaking news.”

The three-time WWE Champion explained that his previous ambassador role lasted only two years and paid “literally 1/14th” of the reported figure. Despite the misconceptions, Foley expressed gratitude for his current WWE relationship, noting that his legends deal has improved significantly over the past decade due to the company’s continued promotion of his legacy.

The salary revelation highlights the often-inflated nature of wrestling industry financial speculation and demonstrates Foley’s continued work ethic at age 58.

MJF Had ‘Top Secret Meeting’ with Mick Foley About Dream Match

0

AEW star MJF secretly met with wrestling legend Mick Foley to pitch a detailed storyline for what could have been the hardcore icon’s final match, according to revelations from a recent interview.

“I had a top secret meeting with MJF about the possibility of having one last match with him and he laid out like six really solid weeks of storytelling,” Foley disclosed during his appearance on The Wrestling Classic’s Casual Conversations podcast.

The clandestine meeting between the two Long Island natives took place at a steakhouse, where MJF presented his vision for a potential retirement match program. “Two Long Island guys meeting at a steakhouse for a we didn’t even take a photo of the situation, but it was cool,” Foley reflected on the encounter.

While Foley praised MJF’s creative presentation, calling his ideas “good” and noting they “could have been a really good six-week program,” he admitted the match doesn’t currently look likely to happen. However, the meeting highlighted MJF’s respect for the hardcore legend and his understanding of long-term storytelling.

Foley revealed that MJF wasn’t alone in his interest, stating, “When I put out a feeler about doing a final match, believe me, there was no shortage of guys, you know, it was really from the death match guys to MJF to Karrion Kross like in WWE, there was no shortage of guys who were willing to do that match with me.”

The revelation demonstrates both Foley’s continued drawing power decades after his prime and MJF’s commitment to honoring wrestling’s legends through meaningful storytelling rather than simple nostalgia acts.

WWE Plans Multi-Event Atlanta Weekend with All-Women’s Evolution Return

WWE will take over Atlanta July 12-13 with three major events across two venues, highlighted by the return of Evolution, the company’s all-women’s premium live event that hasn’t been held since 2018.

Event Schedule:

  • Saturday, July 12 (afternoon): The Great American Bash at Center Stage Theater
  • Saturday, July 12 (8 p.m. ET): Saturday Night’s Main Event at State Farm Arena (live on NBC)
  • Sunday, July 13: Evolution at State Farm Arena

Saturday Night’s Main Event is expected to feature Bill Goldberg’s retirement match against Gunther in the WWE Hall of Famer’s hometown of Atlanta, providing a marquee attraction for the NBC primetime broadcast.

The Evolution announcement represents WWE’s most significant commitment to women’s wrestling programming in years. The original 2018 Evolution event was groundbreaking as WWE’s first pay-per-view featuring exclusively women’s matches, but the company hadn’t scheduled a follow-up until now.

Two-day ticket packages for the State Farm Arena events go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET through Ticketmaster, with presales beginning Tuesday. Individual event tickets and Great American Bash tickets will be announced later.

Atlanta has become a regular host for major WWE events, having held WrestleMania XXVII in 2011 and most recently Bad Blood in October 2024. The weekend takeover format allows WWE to maximize its presence in the market while offering fans multiple entertainment options.

Premium packages through On Location include ringside seating, pre-show hospitality with wrestler appearances, and photo opportunities for fans willing to pay higher prices before general ticket sales begin.

Jim Ross Undergoing Colon Cancer Surgery Today

0

Legendary wrestling announcer Jim Ross is undergoing colon cancer surgery this morning, Tuesday, May 27, 2025, following his diagnosis earlier this month. The 73-year-old broadcasting icon revealed on his “Grilling JR” podcast that doctors discovered cancer in two locations and expect him to remain hospitalized for approximately six days after the “less invasive” procedure.

Ross, known for his iconic commentary during WWE’s Attitude Era and current work with All Elite Wrestling, expressed optimism despite acknowledging the stressful nature of his situation. “I’ve prepared myself mentally and physically to endure the situation,” he said, noting he was not experiencing pain at the time of his announcement.

The wrestling community has rallied around Ross, with notable support coming from AEW CEO Tony Khan and WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin. Ross said the support has him feeling “strong and vibrant” ahead of the procedure.

Despite his latest health challenges, Ross emphasized he has no plans to retire. He intends to continue his work with AEW following recovery, though he plans to reduce his schedule and focus on select appearances and events.

Ross previously overcame skin cancer in 2021 and underwent hip surgery in February 2024.

The announcer expressed hope to attend AEW All In: Texas later this summer as he continues his recovery journey.

SEScoops wishes JR and a full and speedy recovery.

All Elite Wrestling’s Konosuke Takeshita and Yuka Sakazaki have publicly revealed their marriage in a heartfelt message shared via Instagram. The announcement marks the first time the couple has openly spoken about their relationship.

Takeshita, approaching his 30th birthday, reflected on his personal growth and challenges, admitting there are still many things he finds difficult to accomplish. He credited Yuka with being his daily support, saying she helps him face those challenges with care and encouragement.

“You are always there for me to share my happiness and my sadness,” he wrote, addressing Yuka directly in the post.

The couple also introduced their dog, Kenshiro—a Goldendoodle originally expected to remain miniature, but now growing larger by the day. Takeshita acknowledged the lifestyle change while expressing his intent to work hard to ensure a happy life for both Yuka and Kenshiro.

Closing the post, Takeshita reaffirmed his dedication to wrestling and his fans: “From now on, I will give my all to fight with care in the ring, one match, one match.”

Young Bucks Banged Up After Anarchy In The Arena Match

0

AEW’s Matthew and Nicholas Jackson, The Young Bucks, are reportedly dealing with physical issues following their participation in the grueling Anarchy in the Arena match at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

In the wild 12-person contest in Glendale, Arizona, the team made up of The Young Bucks, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Marina Shafir was defeated by the opposing squad of Swerve Strickland, Kenny Omega, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, Katsuyori Shibata, and Willow Nightingale.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio after the event, it was noted that the Young Bucks were banged up after the match. The specific nature or severity of their conditions was not detailed.

However, Meltzer speculated they could miss a few weeks of in-ring action as a result of being banged up in the typically chaotic and high-impact Anarchy in the Arena bout. Any potential time away for The Young Bucks is not confirmed at this point.

Unique Stipulations Added to Money in the Bank Title Match

0

The Women’s Intercontinental Championship will be on the line at Money in the Bank, but the match will have much more than the title at stake. On the May 26, edition of WWE Raw, champion Lyra Valkyria was confronted by Becky Lynch and the stakes were raised for the upcoming PLE.

During a promo segment, Valkyria addressed the audience before being interrupted by Lynch, who took a personal jab at Valkyria’s fiancé. Lynch referenced their previous encounter, noting that after Valkyria defeated her for the NXT Title, she raised Valkyria’s hand in respect. Lynch then proposed that if she wins at Money in the Bank, Valkyria must reciprocate by raising her hand in victory.

Valkyria responded confidently, stating she has no issue raising the winner’s hand, adding that she hasn’t had to do so for Lynch yet. However, it was added that if Lynch doesn’t win, then she can’t challenge for the Women’s Intercontinental Title as long as Valkyria holds the gold.

This added stipulation intensifies the personal rivalry between the two, setting the stage for a compelling match at Money in the Bank.

Kairi Sane Breaks Unfortunate Streak On WWE Raw

0

On the May 26, edition of WWE Raw, Kairi Sane defeated Liv Morgan in what was Morgan’s comeback match after a handful of weeks away. Sane rolled up Morgan while the referee was busy dealing with a confrontation outside of the ring between Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez.

Morgan’s return didn’t go as she’d planned but this was a huge victory for Sane. The match marked her first singles victory on WWE programming in close to five years. Her previous win in singles action on WWE TV had come on the July 29, 2020 edition of the red brand, where Sane beat Bayley.

Sane has only had nine singles matches since returning to WWE in 2023, and only three have occurred on WWE television. In addition to these matches, she has scored wins dark matches ahead of WWE SmackDown and on WWE Speed.

WWE Spoils Upcoming AAA Title Match During Raw

0

WWE has acquired AAA, as first announced during WrestleMania week, in an exciting move that has left fans eager to see what’s to come. Now though, WWE has spoiled a huge title match set to take place in the Lucha Libre promotion.

During the May 26, edition of WWE Raw, it was said that Vikingo will be facing Chad Gable at Worlds End for the AAA Mega Championship. A graphic confirmed that this will be a title match, giving Gable the opportunity to win the historic piece of gold.

There’s just one problem. The current champion is Alberto El Patron, who has held the AAA Mega Championship for much of 2025. El Patron is scheduled to defend his title against Vikingo at an AAA taping on May 31, one week before Worlds Collide. Many have taken this graphic as a spoiler that Vikingo will win the title from the controversial ex-Superstar.

Vikingo is the longest reigning Mega Champion, holding the title for 833 days. Now, all signs point to him holding the gold again, with WWE already highlighting his next title reign before it’s happened.

Latest On Asuka Amid Lengthy WWE Injury

0

Asuka hasn’t stepped into a WWE ring since May 2024, and it appears her return is not on the immediate horizon. Despite ongoing fan speculation about her return to action, the former Women’s Champion remains sidelined due to injury.

According to Fightful Select, Asuka was never seriously considered for WrestleMania 41, despite fan speculation of a return in time for the event. The show saw Asuka’s Damage CTRL ally IYO SKY retain the WWE Women’s World Championship during the show’s second night.

While WWE’s creative team reportedly discussed possible return plans for Asuka earlier this year, those conversations came as a surprise internally, since she was nowhere near being cleared at the time. There has been no confirmed update on her recovery timeline as WWE appears to be waiting until Asuka is fully cleared before crafting her return storyline.

Asuka is a decorated champion both in and out of WWE but there’s no word on when the veteran will return to the ring. In the meantime, fans eagerly anticipate her comeback.

Stephanie McMahon Recalls Plans For WWE-Brand Tattoo

0

Stephanie McMahon’s name is synonymous with WWE but she wanted to make her connection even more permanent on her skin. On a recent edition of her What’s Your Story? podcast, Stephanie shared how she was ready to prove her WWE loyalty during her younger years.

“When I was younger, I wanted a tattoo and I was going to get the WWF logo. Thank God I didn’t do that. I’d be like a walking billboard if I had all the different logos that have evolved over time. I’m tatted on the inside.”

While McMahon didn’t get the tattoo, the idea of inking her body did not entirely vanish as she grew older. She explained that during the COVID-19 pandemic, she considered getting a tattoo to symbolize her three daughters. However, concerns about how her body might react to the ink ultimately stopped her from comitting to the idea.

Several wrestlers have iconic tattoos, from CM Punk’s Pepsi ink to The Rock’s Brahma Bull. As for McMahon, she remains ink-free but her connection to WWE has never been in question.

Liv Morgan Returns On WWE Raw

0

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan made her return to WWE television on the May 26, 2025, episode of Monday Night Raw. Morgan, who had been away for approximately a month filming a movie, immediately reinserted herself into a storyline by confronting Dominik Mysterio during his segment with NXT’s Roxanne Perez and Carlito.

After pointedly shushing Perez and listening to Mysterio’s explanation for recent events, Morgan “informed Mysterio that she plans on addressing things” further with him. However, she stated her immediate priority is to secure “a qualifying match for Money In The Bank.”

Morgan’s hiatus began after the April 28th Raw, where she announced she was taking time off for her role in the movie “Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo.” Her last match before this break was a successful WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship defense alongside Raquel Rodriguez on the April 22nd episode of NXT against Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley.

Now back on Raw, Morgan’s focus on Money in the Bank signals her championship ambitions, while her unresolved issues with Mysterio continues.

New Title Match Announced For WWE Money In The Bank

0

WWE has announced that WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria vs. Becky Lynch will happen at Money In The Bank. WWE confirmed the match booking this afternoon.

Lynch made a shock WWE return at WrestleMania 41, teaming with Lyra Valkyria after Bayley was attacked backstage. They stunningly won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships from Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. However, their reign was brief, losing the titles back to Morgan and Rodriguez in a Raw rematch.

Immediately after, an incensed Lynch brutally attacked Valkyria, turning heel. Lynch then revealed she orchestrated Bayley’s attack to seize the WrestleMania spot, claiming Lyra “embarrassed” her by losing the tag titles. This ignited a feud, leading to Backlash where Valkyria successfully defended her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lynch, despite xuffering a broken nose. Lynch attacked Lyra post-match, and on the May 19th Raw, Valkyria retaliated by costing Lynch her Money in the Bank qualifier.

WWE presents the Money In The Bank PLE on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, CA. The main card starts at 7 pm ET. Here is the updated card:

Jim Ross Details Stone Cold’s Support After Cancer Diagnosis

0

Jim Ross is sadly battling cancer once again, this time in his colon, in the latest health concern for the legendary commentator. The pro wrestling world showed Ross a ton of support and now Ross has explained how Steve Austin supported him in a big way. On his Grilling JR podcast, JR discussed speaking with ‘Stone Cold’ over the phone after his diagnosis.

“When we got off the phone, I looked at my phone and we’d talked for 43 minutes. Forty-three minutes. And here’s what your friends do: they call you, they talk to you, and at the end of the conversation, they tell you they love you. And that’s what Steve did.”

Ross didn’t disclose the entire context of their 43-minute conversation, but shared that Austin reassured him that he would beat cancer. The words from the iconic wrestler meant plenty to the man who had called so many of his matches.

“‘Just ride it out. Tough it out.’ I said, ‘I’m going to put my uniform on and go play, and give the doctors and nurses everything they want.”

For Ross, Austin’s phone call wasn’t just a kind gesture—it was a reminder of enduring friendship, and a source of strength during a difficult time. We at SEScoops are continuing to wish Mr. Ross the absolute best in this battle with cancer.

Aleister Black On WWE Return: “It Felt Like Coming Home, Everything Made Sense Again”

0

One month after his impactful return to WWE on the SmackDown following WrestleMania 41, Aleister Black has opened up about his experience rejoining the company.

Black, who departed WWE in 2021 and wrestled for All Elite Wrestling from 2021 to early 2025, shared his thoughts with The Atomic Drop newsletter while promoting WWE Clash in Paris.

Black admitted to initial nerves but explained that he quickly felt at ease. Describing his first day backstage, he noted a “mixed feeling of nostalgia and familiarity whilst there is something unknown. “

However, reconnecting with familiar faces soon dispelled his anxiety: “I remember being very nervous, but then realizing that everything felt the same in the most positive sense… all my anxiety just kind of dropped. And I’m like, yeah, this time around, it’s even better.”

Black highlighted his positive relationships with Triple H and Nick Khan, and praised the “fantastic” WWE locker room. “It just really felt good, it felt like coming home… and I think that was the first time I could ever say it felt like coming home and everything made sense again,” Black shared. “Nothing is like WWE… it just felt like this is what it’s supposed to be for me.”

AEW’s Dustin Rhodes Shares Timeline For Wrestling Retirement

0

AEW veteran Dustin Rhodes has made it clear he has no immediate plans to retire. Still, when the time comes, he envisions a significant storyline leading to his farewell match, potentially akin to Sting’s memorable AEW send-off.

Speaking on Close Up w/ Renee Paquette, the current Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion discussed his passion for wrestling and future aspirations after 37 years in the business. Rhodes acknowledged the eventual end but emphasized his current drive:

“Whenever the end is, it is kind of near, but not too close. Do we ever really retire in this business? As long as I have the passion, I’m gonna continue to do it.”

He revealed that he has given his retirement match considerable thought, stating, “That, I’ve thought up, I’ve thought in depth, and there’s a list of three guys. I’d rather not say them right now, I want to keep that close to my chest, but I do have a plan.”

He estimated this final chapter might be “a couple of years, two and a half, maybe” away, adding confidently, “I think Tony’s going to be okay with that.”

Rhodes also credited his match with his brother Cody in AEW for reigniting his passion for wrestling and praised Tony Khan’s vision for making wrestlers feel special.

Backstage Plans Behind Bronson Reed’s Alliance With Seth Rollins

0

Bronson Reed shocked fans with his return at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event when he joined forces with Seth Rollins, Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker. Some details have now emerged regarding the reason behind aligning with the group.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reflected on Bron Breakker joining Seth Rollins’ faction. He then highlighted the fact that Bronson Reed joining Rollins and co. adds a dimension to the group and makes it stronger.

Meltzer also reckoned that Bron Breakker is being built as a future WrestleMania main eventer and they would want to protect him. So, eventually when the group takes a loss, Bronson Reed could be the one. He explained:

“Yeah. I think it adds a dimension, and it makes the group even—it makes them even more of a strong group because also, the other thing with Bronson being there is that, you know, when you have the matches where they have to lose—and they probably won’t be doing much losing early on—but when you have those matches, you don’t have to beat Bron Breakker, who, you know, is obviously someone they have as a WrestleMania main eventer, whereas Bronson Reed is not going to be a WrestleMania main eventer. But, you know, I mean, he’s—he’s very good. He’s very good in his role.”

Reed had been on the shelf after sustaining an injury at Survivor Series: WarGames last year. Bronson returned during the tag-team match as CM Punk & Sami Zayn battled Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker. In the final moments of the match, Reed came out of nowhere and sent Punk through the barricade.

Sami Zayn was outnumbered before Breakker pinned him for the win. Following the match, Breakker and Reed had a staredown before Rollins hugged him. Reed and Breakker then shook hands. Reed hit a Tsunami on Punk to end the segment.

Backstage Response to Jesse Ventura’s WWE SNME Rant

0

Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura made his return to WWE as part of the latest Saturday Night’s Main Event, adding a nostalgic edge to the show. Ventura called the action for the steel cage match between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre though his commentary caught a lot of attention.

Ventura spoke over Lilian Garcia while the ring announcer was explaining the rules of the contest. Fightful Select reports that Ventura was supposed to remain quiet like the rest of the announce team during this part of the show, though that didn’t happen.

The WWE Hall of Famer should have paid attention, as he would have learned that victory in a cage match can come via pin, submission, or by escaping the cage. When Damian Priest chose the latter method to win, it earned the anger of Ventura.

“Wait a minute, how do you win going out the door? I thought you had to go over the top! What kind of BS is that? He can walk out the door?!”

Fightful Select adds that there was a lot of laughs backstage at Ventura’s rant but no-one was upset. With Ventura expected at more Saturday Night’s Main Event shows, fans can expect plenty more of the Body on the mic.

Shotzi Rejects Fan’s ‘Injury Prone’ Label After WWE Exit

0

Shotzi Blackheart missed much of her final year in WWE due to an injury, but has rejected the notion that she is ‘injury prone.’ On X, a fan praised Shotzi’s work but argued that her WWE run was limited because she’s injury prone. That caught the attention of the ex-Superstar who argued that she’s not been injured often enough to be seen as ‘prone’ to setbacks.

Shotzi suffered a torn ACL injury in February 2024 which would keep her out of action until December of that same year. She was released in May 2025 alongside NXT ally Gigi Dolin and other Superstars. Now, Shotzi is ready to re-establish herself in the ring and prove that one ACL injury doesn’t make a wrestler ‘injury prone.’

TNA Wrestling Reacts To Trick Williams’ Historic Title Win

0

At WWE NXT Battleground, Trick Williams won the TNA World Championship, becoming the first wrestler in the WWE-TNA partnership to win gold from the other side. On X, fka Twitter, TNA Wrestling reacted by adding Williams’ name along legends who have held the gold.

TNA Wrestling also shared a recap of Williams’ historic win on the promotion’s website:

History was made at WWE Battleground when Joe Hendry put the TNA World Championship on the line against Trick Williams, marking the first time the TNA World Title was defended on a WWE PLE.

An epic back-and-forth contest saw Williams put Hendry through the announce table at ringside. Williams connected with the Trick Shot but it wasn’t enough to keep Hendry down.

Later in the match, Hendry went for the Standing Ovation but Williams countered, sending him face-first into the TNA Word Title belt. Williams would follow up with another Trick Shot to win the match and capture the TNA World Championship.

Trick Williams becomes the first active WWE Superstar to win the TNA World Title.

Williams’ win stunned fans in attendance, including TNA President Carlos Silva. The TNA head was shown in the crowd after the match and appeared far from pleased with an NXT talent holding TNA gold.

Williams has been appearing for both WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling, a sign of the immsense faith both companies have in him. Now, expect to see much more of Trick after his historic title victory.

Mercedes Mone Supports Big Change In AEW Policy

0

Mercedes Mone is supportive of a potentially big policy change in AEW.

Intergender wrestling is something that is popular in the independent circuit. Both the top wrestling promotions of US in AEW and WWE, however, shy away from it in the modern era.

The current TBS Champion was asked about the possibility of getting in the ring with some of her male colleagues during a recent interview with Variety. Mone seemed enthusiastic about the possibility, saying that she would love to get in the ring with people such as Swerve and Okada:

“I definitely want to have an inter-gender match or a mixed tag match. I think people like [Speedball] Mike Bailey, Ricochet, Swerve [Strickland], Komander, The Beast Mortos, [Kazuchika] Okada, there’s just so many men that I would love to team up with and fight against. Dream matches are endless in AEW,”

AEW President Tony Khan has generally been against putting male and female competitors in the same ring in the past. During a 2019 media scrum, Khan said that intergender wrestling is something we ‘probably won’t see in AEW.’

Even so, the latest Double or Nothing PPV suggests at least some change in Khan’s approach to the whole thing. Willow Nightingale and Marina Shafir became the first women to compete in an The Anarchy In The Arena match at the show and they were not shy about trading shots with the male competitors in the match.

Latest On Liv Morgan’s WWE Return

0

A top WWE star is set to make her return very soon.

One half of the current Women’s Tag Team Champions, Liv Morgan, took a break from wrestling after landing a role in the latest Bad Lieutenant movie set in Tokyo.

The female star had been in Japan over the last month for the shooting of the movie and said to have received high praise for her work there.

Now, Fightful Select has provided an update on her return to TV. According to the site, Morgan is set to be factored into creative plans ‘imminently.’

This is consistent with the report of Liv being back in the United States after completing the shooting of the film, and the current champion could return to TV as soon as this Monday’s episode of Raw.

The Judgement Day storyline has taken an interesting turn in Liv Morgan’s absence. After being spotted with her a couple of times, Finn Balor recently introduced Roxanne Perez to members of his faction.

While the former NXT Women’s Champion has not been accepted as a member of the group just yet, one can imagine that Morgan will not be happy with Perez meeting her friends in her absence.

It’d be interesting to see how this dynamic plays out once Morgan is back on TV and if she accepts the help offered by Perez.
