John Cena Made His Stupidest Decision At ECW One Night Stand 2006

0

John Cena is now a heel but the Undisputed WWE Champion received a frosty reception at ECW One Night Stand 2006, despite being a babyface. Speaking at the Philadelphia Fan Expo, Cena recalled the hostile reaction as he walked into the Hammerstein Ballroom to face Rob Van Dam.

“the audience was pretty bad. The event started at about seven o’clock, and we went on last, and at around seven, they were so audibly chanting ‘F-You Cena,’ so I know when I went out at ten o’clock, it was going to be pretty gnarly.”

With his head down and title raised, Cena made his way to the ring to a chorus of boos. During his talk, Cena shared that he did something he’d never dream of doing again in his career.

“It was the most stupid decision of my life, but I told Rob, ‘Hey, let’s go out through the audience.’ And I just wanted to see what would happen… I thought I was going to get my a** kicked.”

Cena appreciates that fans let their voices heard without resorting to violence, leaving the professionals to put on an incredible show. As Cena embraces being a villain once again, the Unseen Seventeen isn’t forgetting the importance of fans knowing not to get physical.

WWE LFG Renewed For Three More Years, Claims Legend

0

Fans haven’t seen the last of WWE LFG now that the first season has completed as the show has reportedly been green-lit for many years to come. Speaking to Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture at Comic Con Revolution Ontario, WWE LFG trainer Mickie James dropped the bombshell.

“It was so fun. It was so much funit’s gotten picked up not just for another season, but for three years — like six seasons hopefully — that’s a big damn deal. I loved it.”

While the show will continue on, it will go ahead without James. For the second season, Michelle McCool will join the panel of legends alongside Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, and her husband The Undertaker. McCool’s inclusion has sparked a backlash with fans arguing that she only has the role due to her marriage to the Phenom. While The Undertaker reportedly pushed for McCool to be brought to the show, it is not believed he pushed James out.

In the interview, James spoke about her role on the show and how her relationship with The Undertaker has changed through WWE LFG.

“I’d only seen him as the judge and jury of the locker room. To feel like an equal with these Hall of Famers, as the first female coach and the only one not in the Hall of Fame — it was a big deal.”

WWE LFG wrapped up in May 2025 with Tyra Mae Steele and Jasper Troy earning WWE NXT contracts. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on the hit series.

The Undertaker Crowned First-Ever Champion on WWE LFG

0

The first season of WWE LFG is over with two of the show’s recruits earning contracts with WWE NXT. Not only did Jasper Troy and Tyra Mae Steele win big during the season finale, so did WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker.

The Undertaker had been the coach of Steele and Shiloh Hill, the other finalist of the men’s side of things. As he was the only legend with two talents in the finals, the Phenom was crowned the first-ever WWE LFG Champion. He was also presented with a championship by his long-time in-ring rival and head of WWE NXT, Shawn Michaels.

WWE LFG has already been confirmed for a second season with The Undertaker’s wife Michelle McCool replacing Mickie James on the show. Will the Phenom be able to retain his WWE LFG Championship? Only time will tell…

Jasper Troy Wins WWE LFG, Earns NXT Contract

0

Jasper Troy has been crowned the men’s winner of WWE’s Legends & Future Greats (LFG) competition, securing a contract with WWE’s NXT brand. In the season finale, Troy triumphed over Shiloh Hill in a match taped at Madison Square Garden, with WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels announcing the result.

Representing Team Booker T, Troy stood out among 16 competitors mentored by WWE legends, including The Undertaker, Mickie James, and Bubba Ray Dudley. His victory highlights his transition from a promising athlete to a professional wrestler.

Before his LFG success, Troy, real name Antione Frazier, debuted on NXT Level Up in May 2024. Standing at 6’5” and weighing 251 lbs, the Huffman, Texas native has shown significant growth since his debut.

With his official entry into NXT, Troy is poised to make a significant impact in WWE’s developmental brand.

Tyra Mae Steele Clinches WWE LFG Victory and Secures NXT Contract

Tyra Mae Steele, formerly known as Olympic gold medalist Tamyra Mensah-Stock, has emerged as the female winner of WWE’s reality competition series WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats). Her victory over Zena Sterling in the season finale, which aired on May 18, 2025, at Madison Square Garden, earned her a coveted contract with WWE’s NXT brand.

Steele’s journey on WWE LFG was marked by resilience and determination. Mentored by WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker, she showcased her athletic prowess and charisma throughout the competition. Her performance culminated in a decisive victory, solidifying her transition from Olympic wrestling to professional wrestling.

Prior to her LFG triumph, Steele made her in-ring debut on the July 5, 2024, episode of NXT Level Up, facing Wren Sinclair. Although she did not secure a win in that match, her performance demonstrated significant potential.

With her LFG victory, Steele joins the ranks of NXT, bringing with her a unique blend of Olympic-level athleticism and a growing fanbase.

WBD Exec Addresses AEW Collision Broadcast Failure

AEW Collision: Beach Break was abruptly cut off 30 minutes early on Saturday, May 17, 2025, due to technical difficulties that affected both the East and West Coast airings on TNT. Instead of the show’s final matches, viewers were met with an early broadcast of Black Adam or a notice indicating the program had ended on Max.

AEW President Tony Khan quickly responded on social media, attributing the issue to transmission problems during the show’s delivery from the studio. He apologized and promised that the complete episode would be made available on-demand.

Despite those reassurances, the West Coast feed suffered the same fate as the East Coast, leading to further frustration among fans.

On Sunday, Warner Bros. Discovery executive Rich Guleksen publicly addressed the incident on Bluesky, confirming it was “a severe technical problem with show delivery & recording.” He expressed regret over the situation and said the team was working to restore the episode for replay on Max and TNT’s on-demand service “ASAP.”

Irvin, who married AEW star Ricochet in March 2025, has expressed interest in returning to wrestling in a non-announcing capacity. While she’s made clear she doesn’t plan to return to ring announcing, she remains open to backstage or on-screen roles that align with her creative direction.

Shawn Michaels Names the Best Tag Team in Wrestling Today

0

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels believes the future of tag team wrestling is already here – and it’s spelled Fraxiom.

Although “Mr. WrestleMania’s” most famous matches are singles bouts, the Heartbreak Kid is no stranger to tag team wrestling. As a member of The Rockers, Two Dudes with Attitudes and D-Generation X, Michaels knows what he’s talking about here.

During a recent appearance on Stay Busy with Armon Sadler, Michaels offered glowing praise for the SmackDown newcomers, the duo of Nathan Frazer and Axiom. According to the NXT boss, Fraxiom may very well be the best tag team in the business today.

“I 100% agree with the people who say that,” Michaels said. “Right now, they’re clicking on all cylinders. Once they committed to being a team, they took it to another level. People sincerely consider them the best tag team in the industry — and that’s amazing praise for two guys in their mid-20s.”

Michaels, who has worked closely with the duo since their NXT UK days, reflected on their journey from standout singles competitors to a cohesive and dynamic unit. He highlighted their youth, versatility, and commitment to the division as key factors in their success.

Fraxiom recently debuted on SmackDown and remain undefeated on the main roster. Their hot streak has earned them a shot at the WWE Tag Team Titles currently held by The Street Profits, with the title match set for the May 23 episode of SmackDown.

With Shawn Michaels vouching for their excellence and a championship opportunity on the horizon, Fraxiom is poised to prove that the future of WWE tag team wrestling is now.

0

Kevin Owens shared a video update on social media Sunday, May 18, addressing recent speculation about his health and setting the record straight regarding his neck surgery.

“We don’t have a surgery date yet. I have not had surgery yet, despite reports to the contrary,” Owens said.

“We’re still trying to figure out the best way to go about it all is, exactly what needs to be done, so we’re still kind of figure that out still.

So, there’s a lot of uncertainty but hopefully in the next few weeks, we get clarity and we do this surgery and we go from there.”

The update came on the 10-year anniversary of Owens’ WWE Raw debut, when he answered John Cena’s open challenge—an appearance that launched his main roster career. While he acknowledged not being in the ring where he wants to be, Owens expressed gratitude for the journey and the moments he’s experienced over the past decade. He thanked everyone who has been part of his WWE journey, including his family, wrestlers he’s traveled with, the crew who work behind the scenes and fans around the world.

Owens also brought attention to a book titled Fight Forever, written by author J.J. McGee chronicling his feud with fellow WWE star Sami Zayn. He praised McGee’s writing and her perspective as a fan.

John Cena Reveals His Favorite T-Shirt Design

0

John Cena has had dozens of t-shirt designs over the years featuring every color imaginable, but he’s only saved one special limited edition shirt for his personal collection.

At the Philadelphia Fan Expo 2025 over the weekend, the reigning WWE Champion revealed his all-time favorite WWE t-shirt design is the limited-edition Super Mario parody shirt. Here’s what he said about it:

“The my favorite one of all time is a very, very limited one—it’s the Super Mario parody. I thought they were going to be great. We were going to run 500 shirts and we sold it with like a championship belt, wristbands, an NFT, autograph, a commemorative book… but the price point was way too high. I learned my lesson.”

Only about 15 kits were sold due to the high price, making the shirt extremely rare. At one point, WWE approached him wanting to sell the t-shirt at a regular price, but he Cena declined. He explained:

“It’s the one time I put my foot down and I said, ‘No. There are people out there that spent a lot of their resources and I want them to have something collectible.’”

Cena loved the shirt so much that its his only shirt that he kept for his personal collection. Each one has a unique serial number, and he snagged #000.

“It’s the only shirt of mine I’ve ever saved. I have serial number 000, and I really think that’s the dopest shirt.”

Also during the Q&A, Cena named his 3 favorite feuds. You can watch the full panel here, courtesy of Matt Kempke:

John Cena Names His 3 Favorite Career Feuds

0

John Cena has battled countless opponents throughout his WWE career, which has spanned 23 years.

Over the weekend, Cena fielded questions from the media at a press event and named his three favorite feuds.

The reigning WWE Champion named The Rock and CM Punk, and said he’d leave it up to the fans to decide his final great rivalry. The person who asked the initial question suggested Randy Orton, and Cena agreed with the pick.

The Rock, CM Punk and CM Punk have all had classic matches with John Cena. Cena and Orton closed out their story last weekend at WWE Backlash, with Cena getting the W in their final battle. Punk and Cena are almost certain to cross paths before the year is up and Cena rides off into the sunset.

An Everest-sanctioned website dedicated to tracking the route and journey of climbers confirmed that Allin’s team completed the climb at 8:50 am local time on May 18, 2025.

Allin was the only member of his team to be climbing Everest for the very first time. Mike Raybeck, WWE/WCW Alum, Dies In Bicycle Accident

0

The wrestling world is mourning the passing of Mike Raybeck, known to fans as Maxx Justice and Mike Diamond, who has died following a tragic bicycle accident in Hayward, California. The former wrestler was struck by a vehicle while riding home from work near Chabot College.

Raybeck’s passing was acknowledged during a Hayward City Council meeting on May 13, where a moment of silence was held and flags were lowered in his honor. The city also announced plans to plant a tree in his memory to recognize his years of service as a utilities maintenance mechanic in the public works department.

In the ring, Raybeck began his career through All Pro Wrestling’s Boot Camp and became a five-time APW Universal Champion. Raybeck was a prominent figure on the California independent wrestling scene under the Maxx Justice name, thanks in part to his six-foot-five, 250lb physique. All Pro Wrestling would share a tribute to Raybeck.

Raybeck had appearances in major wrestling promotions as well. In 1996, he competed in three matches for the WWF, facing names like Justin Bradshaw and Savio Vega. Two years later, he wrestled a dark match for WCW. Outside the ring, he made a brief but memorable appearance in the wrestling documentary Beyond the Mat.

We here at SEScoops would like to extend our deepest condolences who knew Mike Raybeck at this difficult time.

John Cena Keeps Coy About Potential Political Future

0

Will John Cena enter the political ring when his time in the squared circle is over? Don’t expect a clear answer from the Undisputed WWE Champion. During a red carpet event for his new movie Heads of State, Cena was asked about a potential future in politics and provided a rather diplomatic answer.

“I hope everybody enjoys Heads of State on Prime Video.”

Heads of State sees Cena play the President of the United States who must work alongside the British Prime Minister, played by Idris Elba. This is the second time the pair have shared the screen after previously tag-teaming on James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad in 2021.

If Cena was to enter politics, he’d join wrestling alum including Glenn ‘Kane’ Jacobs and Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura. For now, Cena won’t give a clear answer about his future, already taking a trick from the playbook of many elected officials.

Alexa Bliss Opens Up About Motherhood, WWE’s Help

0

Alexa Bliss became a mom to her daughter Hendrix in 2023, taking over a year away from the ring before making her in-ring return in February 2025. Speaking to TMZ, Bliss expressed her appreciation for how WWE has supported her as a wrestling parent.

“They’ve been so great about bringing her on the road. She’s got her own setup when we go, and she loves it,” Bliss said.

Queen of the Ring Account Claims WWE Blocked Ads, Insults Fans

0

WWE wanted no part in promoting the Queen of the Ring biopic, despite having a Superstar in the film, according to the film’s social media account. In a post on X that has since been deleted, the account promoted the Mildred Burke biopic as the movie WWE doesn’t want fans to see.

This verbiage stirred up questions as to why WWE would not want fans to see the movie that features Trinity ‘Naomi’ Fatu as Ethel Johnson. In a post that has also been deleted, the Queen of the Ring account made some bold claims.

You should ask them why they tried to block us from running TV ads during Raw (illegal), why they asked us to sponsor their events, we agreed to the financial deal then they pulled us out last minute. This is just a glimpse into the sabotaging behavior… perhaps we will expand on the intel.

The posts didn’t stop there as when faced with criticism, the movie account took issue with those commenting on their posts.

These posts and responses mark a serious change in tone for Queen of the Ring, which up until May 2025 had been delivering posts one would expect to hype up the film. Nevertheless, these bold claims and unique responses have caught attention from fans.

Natalya Attacks Heckler After NWA Crockett Cup Defeat

0

WWE’s Natalya didn’t leave the NWA Crockett Cup as the new NWA Women’s World Champion, but made an impact during and after the match. The WWE veteran entered the ring to her Rage Against the Machine theme, the same song she used at Bloodsport in April. Despite her experience and presence, Natalya, competing under her real name as Nattie Neidhart, lost to champion Kenzie Page.

After the match, footage emerged showing Natalya confronting a heckler in the crowd. The video captured her storming over, slapping the fan across the face, and attempting to throw additional strikes before security intervened. While this was almost certainly part of the show, the altercation left fans stunned and quickly went viral on social media.

Gail Kim was supposed to officiate the Page-Neidhart match before “severe flu/COVID symptoms” kept the TNA alum from the event. It remains to be seen what’s next for Natalya in and out of WWE after this setback and post-match outburst.

Darth Vader Believes in Joe Hendry in Fortnite AI Update

0

After turning to the dark side, Anakin Skywalker dedicated himself to the dark side of the force as the evil Darth Vader, but even he can’t help but believe in TNA’s Joe Hendry. In May 2025, Epic Games announced Vader would be returning to Fortnite as an in-game boss, but this time, players would be able to chat with him through conversational AI. This led to one player convincing the Sith lord to believe in the reigning TNA World Champion.

This is hardly the first time the world of pro wrestling has landed in a galaxy far, far away. In addition to multiple wrestlers being fans of Star Wars, AEW’s Mercedes Moné was a part of The Mandalorian as Koska Reeves. The series saw the AEW TBS Champion appear alongside some of the show’s biggest stars including the titular Mandalorian, as played by Pedro Pascal.

Hendry has been busy in both TNA Wrestling and WWE NXT, and will defend his gold against Trick Williams at WWE NXT Battleground. It remains to be seen if Hendry will retain, but at least he has one of cinema’s most iconic villains on his side.

Saraya Changes Fan Policy After Disturbing Signing Incident

0

Saraya is changing how she interacts with fans after a disturbing encounter at a recent signing event. At the event, a fan tried to kiss Saraya on the mouth, crossing a line for the former WWE and AEW wrestler. Taking to X, Saraya shared a post about the matter.

Saraya also shared a video in which she discussed the matter further. The British star was pleased for all the well-wishes she’s received after the incident which has forced her to change her attitude to meet-and-greets.

“I am a hugger. I’ve always been a hugger when it comes to my fans. But going forward, I would love if we just stick to handshakes just to be safer and just to have a little bit of a boundary.”

Saraya added that this kiss wasn’t just inappropriate, it’s assault, an something nobody shoul have to tolerate.

Please don’t do that to us, you guys. Please, to any wrestling, not just females, any wrestling, do not try and kiss us. It’s not appropriate. It’s actually assault.”

Saraya’s experience underscores the importance of respecting personal space, especially in public fan interactions. With her new handshake-only policy, she’s prioritizing safety while maintaining her connection with fans.

AEW Collision Ends Early As Black Adam Replaces Main Event

0

AEW Collision’s May 17 episode was a night full of epic moments and an emotional tribute, but things took a bizarre turn towards the end. At 9:30 pm, the show ended abruptly before the main event, and cut to an airing of Black Adam instead.

Fans were left puzzled as the advertised match between ROH Tag Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara vs. The CRU wasn’t broadcast. The match was made during AEW Dynamite and was intended to set up a title shot against the Hurt Syndicate at Double or Nothing.

Although fans in attendance witnessed the ROH Tag Team Champions in action, viewers at home were left hanging. The sudden cut prompted widespread confusion and frustration on social media, and Tony Khan would later explain the situation on X.

There is some irony to WWE’s Final Boss taking over the airwaves and forcing AEW programming off of TV. Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara would get the win and the ROH Tag Team Champions will challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Double or Nothing.

Several of Mongo’s former Chicago Bear teammates and other Hall of Famers attended, including Dan Hampton, Mike Singletary, Richard Dent, Jim Covert and other 1986 Super Bowl champion teammates. The service was closed to the press but a large image of McMichael was visible through the funeral home doors.
