CM Punk Admits He’s ‘Riddled’ With Anxiety Before Big Matches

0

The new “WWE: Unreal” docuseries is providing a deep look into the minds of top stars, with CM Punk opening up in the first episode about his struggles with what he calls “anticipatory anxiety” before major matches.

The docuseries followed Punk in the lead-up to his main event match against Seth Rollins on the January 6th debut episode of Raw on Netflix. In the footage, Punk described the intense anxiety he feels before a big performance.

“I’m looking at that RAW debut like, ‘holy shit’. I constantly have what I call anticipatory anxiety now. Like, right now, I’m just riddled with it,” Punk said. “In a way, I’m almost waiting for it to all to be over and the only time I’m not gonna feel that way is when the red light’s on and the bell rings.”

Punk explained that the anxiety disappears the moment he steps through the ropes, as that is the one place where he feels completely in command of the situation. “I have no boss. I’m 100% in control. I can do whatever the fuck I want,” he stated. Punk was ultimately victorious in that main event match against Rollins.

Punk will likely be dealing with those same feelings of anticipatory anxiety this weekend as he prepares for another high-stakes encounter. At the two-night SummerSlam premium live event, he is scheduled to challenge GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship in what is expected to be one of the main events.

WWE Returns to Japan with October SuperShow Events at Tokyo’s Sumo Hall

0

WWE is making its highly anticipated return to Japan this October with two consecutive house shows at Tokyo’s iconic Sumo Hall. The events, branded as “WWE SuperShow Japan,” will take place on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18, marking the company’s first Japanese shows since July 2024.

The announcement comes after a significant gap in WWE’s Japanese presence, as the company had not visited the country between 2019 and July 2024. This return demonstrates WWE’s renewed commitment to international markets and their passionate global fanbase.

A star-studded lineup of WWE Raw superstars has been advertised for the Tokyo events, including World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, AJ Styles, IYO SKY, Rhea Ripley, Jey Uso, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Sami Zayn, and New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The all-Raw roster selection is strategic, as WWE has a live SmackDown episode scheduled in San Jose, California on the same night as the first Japan show.

Tickets for WWE SuperShow Japan will go on sale Saturday, August 30 at 10 a.m. local time. Wrestling fans will also have the opportunity to purchase special meet and greet packages, providing an intimate experience with their favorite superstars in the historic Sumo Hall venue.

This international expansion continues WWE’s recent global efforts, following successful SuperShow Mexico events in Mexico City and Monterrey that featured high-profile matches including Gunther versus Penta and multi-man tag team competitions involving top stars like Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa.

Brian Gewirtz & The Rock Pitched For Shock Kevin Owens WWE Title Win

0

The new “WWE: Unreal” docuseries on Netflix has revealed another major scrapped storyline, this one involving a plan for Kevin Owens to surprisingly win the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes at the Elimination Chamber premium live event earlier this year.

In the docuseries, longtime creative mind Brian Gewirtz revealed that he and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson pitched the shocking title change. The idea was that after Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes refused The Rock’s offer to be “his champion” at the PLE, The Rock would have made an “impromptu title match right then and there.” The plan would have seen Kevin Owens, who was in a storyline with Rhodes at the time, defeat him to capture the championship.

Gewirtz explained the motivation behind the pitch, stating that he and The Rock felt the expected babyface rivalry between Rhodes and John Cena “felt a little dry.” Their goal was to inject “controlled chaos into this” and create a truly “seismic” moment.

“Kevin Owens winning the title wasn’t the end goal,” Gewirtz explained. “The takeaway was whatever it is we do, needs to be seismic.” Ultimately, WWE went in a different direction, with the segment at Elimination Chamber instead featuring John Cena’s heel turn and alignment with The Rock.

While the plan for Owens to win the title was scrapped, both he and Cody Rhodes remain at the top of the card in WWE. Cody Rhodes will challenge John Cena for the WWE Title in a Street Fight at SummerSlam this coming weekend.

Original Plans For WWE WrestleMania 41 Card

0

With the premiere of the “WWE: Unreal” docuseries on Netflix today, a massive revelation has come out regarding the original plans for this past April’s WrestleMania 41. An early version of the card detailed in the show is drastically different from the event that ultimately took place in Las Vegas.

The docuseries revealed that the initial blueprint for the show featured several dream matches that were later changed. The original plans included one-on-one matches such as Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns and a World Heavyweight Championship match between GUNTHER and CM Punk. Other major planned bouts included Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair for the Women’s World Title, a tag team match pitting Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair against Asuka & IYO SKY, and a special referee match with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin officiating a bout between Bron Breakker and Drew McIntyre.

The final card for the two-night event was significantly different. The Night One main event was a triple threat match between Seth Rollins, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns. One of the biggest moments of the weekend saw Jey Uso score a surprising victory over GUNTHER to win the World Heavyweight Championship. In the main event of Night Two, Cody Rhodes lost his Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena.

The creative shifts revealed in the docuseries have had a massive impact on the current landscape heading into this weekend’s SummerSlam. CM Punk, who was originally slated to face GUNTHER at WrestleMania, will now challenge him at SummerSlam. The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena has now evolved into a Street Fight for their rematch at the event.

CM Punk To Doubters: “I’m Real Good And I’m Going To Rub Your Nose In It”

0

On the same day that the “WWE: Unreal” docuseries premieres on Netflix, CM Punk has shared his perspective on his current run in WWE. In a new interview, he explained that he no longer gets disappointed by missed opportunities and is “stoked” just to be in the conversation for the company’s top spots.

While speaking with JoBlo Celebrity Access, Punk was asked about the behind-the-scenes discussions revealed in “WWE: Unreal,” where the possibility of him winning the Royal Rumble or main eventing WrestleMania were talked about. He said that hearing his name in the mix is a victory in itself.

“I don’t get disappointed when I hear, like, my name’s in the mix. I’m pretty stoked right now, you know, because there’s a lot of people that think that I shouldn’t be operating at this high level that I am at this age,” Punk said. “And you know, to me, I’m just like, ‘Yeah, I’m real good. I’m real good. And I’m going to rub your nose in it.’”

Punk explained that at this stage of his career, accolades like title wins or main event matches are no longer the primary benchmarks that define his success. Instead, his focus is on delivering consistent, high-quality performances. He was able to check a WrestleMania main event off his list this past April when he competed in a triple-threat match against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

Punk will have another opportunity to prove he is still “real good” this coming weekend at the two-night SummerSlam premium live event. He is scheduled to challenge the dominant World Heavyweight Champion, GUNTHER, in a match that is expected to be one of the main events of the weekend. The match marks Punk’s second opportunity to capture a world championship since his return to WWE.

SummerSlam marks WWE’s first major return to MetLife Stadium since WrestleMania 35, and for many it will be a homecoming. Notable names including Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, and Becky Lynch were part of the April 2019 event, and will also compete this weekend.

While it remains to be seen what the finished stage will look like, SummerSlam 2025 is already shaping up to be a massive event. With two nights of action planned, expect plenty of shocks and exciting moments at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

New El Grande Americano Appears On WWE Raw

0

The El Grande Americano mystery grew even deeper during the July 28, episode of WWE Raw, with a new masked man making is presence felt. This Americano, the third overall, not just appeared, but got involved in a majo title match.

The match in question was the Judgment Day’s WWE World Tag Team Title defense against LWO. The first El Grande Americano emerged mid-match, and based on his height, build, and striking technique, it was Ludwig Kaiser under the mask. The German has portrayed Americano in the wake of Chad Gable, the first Americano’s, injury.

Kaiser was chased to the back by Dragon Lee before another Americano, hopped the guardrail and interfered. This moment allowed for the Judgment Day to retain their titles in a shocking moment on WWE Raw.

On commentary, Michael Cole was stunned, telling fans “That’s not the same man, who is this?!” Corey Graves, who has been on Raw amid Pat McAfee’s ongoing hiatus, summed up the situation, sharing that “We’ve got a new mystery on our hands.”

No identity has been confirmed for this second El Grande Americano, but the intrigue has deepened just as WWE heads into SummerSlam. With two Americanos on Raw and three overall, this development has everyone guessing.

Chris Bey Sees The Ironic Side Of Injury, Grateful To Be Alive

0

Chris Bey took to social media to mark a significant milestone in his recovery journey, reflecting on breaking his neck nine months ago during a TNA event. Seeing the funny side to what was an incredibly scary and serious injury, Bey questioned if he was the first wrestler to break their neck off of a neckbreaker.

The TNA Wrestling star’s candid post highlighted both the severity of his injury and his gratitude for surviving what could have been a career-ending or life-threatening incident. Bey’s injury occurred in October 2024, when he suffered the neck fracture during a neckbreaker maneuver.

The wrestling world has rallied behind Bey, a former TNA X-Division Champion, since his injury. In March of this year, a benefit event was held to raise funds for Bey, who not only appeared, but was able to walk. The following month, Bey made his first live appearance for TNA post-injury, where he reunited with ABC tag-team partner Ace Austin.

Bey’s recovery represents a remarkable comeback story in professional wrestling, where neck injuries are among the most serious concerns for performers. While questions remain regarding his future in the ring, Chris Bey’s post shows that this setback in his professional life hasn’t dampened his good-natured attitude.

Triple H Details The Secretive Process Behind John Cena’s Heel Turn

0

Ahead of the premiere of the new docuseries “WWE: Unreal” on Netflix tomorrow, a new sneak peek has been released revealing the intricate behind-the-scenes process of John Cena’s shocking heel turn at the Elimination Chamber event earlier this year.

In the new clip, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque breaks down how he pitched the idea to a very small and select group of people. He details his conversations with WWE President Nick Khan and The Rock, who both loved the idea, with The Rock calling it “genius” and immediately contributing his own thoughts. After getting Cody Rhodes and Travis Scott on board, he made the final, crucial call to John Cena.

Triple H explained that he needed to have a very honest conversation with Cena about the real-world impact of such a massive character change. He made sure to speak to “John Cena the human being” about the potential ramifications for his movie career and public image.

“I said, ‘John, okay. Let’s take the bulls*** hat off,'” Levesque recounted. “‘This impacts John Cena the real-life human being, and it impacts his movies, and it impacts his PR schedule and impacts everything… Give me your gut. You like it or you don’t.’ And he was like, ‘I like it a lot, actually.’ And when I hung up the phone with him, within a minute, minute and a half, I’ve gotten, like, three different texts from him of thoughts, ideas.”

The heel turn that was born in that small circle of trust ultimately led to John Cena capturing the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. Although he has since lost the title to Cody Rhodes, their story will reach its climax this weekend at the two-night SummerSlam premium live event, where Rhodes is set to challenge Cena for it in a street fight.

Nick Hogan Appears On WWE Raw For Father’s Tribute

0

The WWE’s tribute to the late, great Hulk Hogan is set to continue on the July 28th episode of Monday Night Raw. Hogan’s son, Nick Hogan, has been spotted backstage at the event in Detroit, Michigan.

Hulk Hogan, Terry Bollea, passed away on July 24th at the age of 71. The company began its tribute to the icon on this past Friday’s episode of SmackDown.

The official Instagram page for Real American Beer, a brand co-founded by Hulk Hogan, posted a photo on Monday afternoon. The picture showed Nick Hogan backstage at Raw, posing with WWE star Jey Uso and business partners Chad Bronstein and Chris Volo.

This marks Nick’s first public appearance since he released a heartfelt and emotional statement about his father’s passing on Sunday. In that statement, he called his father his “best friend and hero.”

It is incredibly fitting that WWE’s Raw tribute to Hulk Hogan is taking place in Detroit. The city was the site of arguably the single most important and iconic moment of his entire career.

On March 29, 1987, in the Detroit suburb of Pontiac, Hulk Hogan faced Andre the Giant in the main event of WrestleMania III. In front of a record-setting crowd at the Pontiac Silverdome, Hogan did the impossible by bodyslamming the undefeated giant. That moment, “the bodyslam heard ’round the world,” cemented Hulkamania as a global phenomenon and created the most enduring image in wrestling history.

A Company-Wide Tribute

Last Friday’s episode of SmackDown served as the first part of WWE’s tribute. The show featured a ten-bell salute, moving video packages highlighting his life and career, and in-person appearances from legends and close friends like Jimmy Hart and Ted DiBiase.

Tonight’s show in the city that hosted his most legendary moment is expected to be another emotional celebration of the life of “The Hulkster.” His son’s presence adds another poignant layer to the evening, as the family, the company, and the fans continue to mourn the loss of a true immortal.

Cody Rhodes Was Considered For ‘Happy Gilmore 2’ Part

0

The recently released Adam Sandler comedy, Happy Gilmore 2, features several wrestlers, but a new report has revealed another top WWE star was considered for a role. According to Fightful Select, Cody Rhodes was asked to read for a part in the movie.

The report states that Rhodes had talks with the film’s production team and was requested to read for an unspecified role. However, scheduling conflicts ultimately prevented it from becoming a real possibility. It is not known how serious the talks were beyond the initial request.

While a role for Rhodes didn’t work out, the film does feature several other stars from the wrestling world. AEW’s MJF has a featured role in the movie, while WWE’s Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella both make cameo appearances. The filming schedule was reportedly an extensive one, requiring talents like MJF to take months off from television to complete the project.

While a role in Happy Gilmore 2 was not in the cards, Cody Rhodes is currently preparing for one of the biggest moments of his career. This coming weekend at the two-night SummerSlam premium live event, “The American Nightmare” is scheduled to challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Street Fight.

The Miz Offers to Replace Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam After Passport Issues

0

The Miz has thrown his hat into the ring as a potential replacement for Drew McIntyre at WWE SummerSlam 2025, following news that the Scottish Warrior may miss the event due to passport complications.

McIntyre revealed on social media that he’s currently stranded in England after attending a friend’s wedding, unable to board his return flight to the United States despite providing proper identification. With SummerSlam just days away, The Miz seized the opportunity to pitch himself as Logan Paul’s new tag team partner.

“Drew McIntyre is landlocked in the UK and might not be able to make it to work at SummerSlam… I’m not landlocked, and Logan Paul needs a partner,” The Miz stated in his Instagram promo.

The A-Lister didn’t stop there, delivering an extended pitch that highlighted his role in bringing Logan Paul to WWE and dismissed the need for any other replacement options.

“Who was the person who brought Logan Paul into WWE? So Drew, don’t call one of your friends to replace you. There is no replacement. The Miz and Logan Paul vs Jelly Roll and Randy Orton at SummerSlam. That’s it. I’m done waiting.”

The pairing would reunite The Miz and Logan Paul, who previously teamed together at WrestleMania 38 in 2022 for Paul’s WWE debut before facing each other later that year at SummerSlam. With The Miz currently without a match on the SummerSlam card and his established chemistry with celebrity talent, he presents a logical replacement option.

WWE SummerSlam 2025 takes place August 2-3 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The company has yet to announce any official changes to the McIntyre and Paul vs. Orton and Jelly Roll tag team match, but with the event approaching rapidly, a decision may need to be made soon.

TNA Star’s Contract Reportedly Extended Through 2025

0

An update has been provided on the contract status of TNA Knockout Killer Kelly following her recent return to the company. A new report has confirmed that her current TNA Wrestling contract has been extended, keeping her with the promotion through the end of 2025.

According to a report from Fightful Select, TNA sources have confirmed that Killer Kelly’s current deal has been extended. Her original contract was set to expire in August 2025, but it will now run through December 2025, ensuring she will remain a part of the TNA program for at least the remainder of the year.

The contract news comes shortly after Kelly made her comeback to the TNA Knockouts division following an extended absence for maternity leave. In the Spring of 2024, rumors of her departure circulated after an internal document stated she was “gone.” However, she clarified at the time that she was still under contract and was simply taking time off. This extension signals TNA’s commitment to her upon her return.

Killer Kelly returns to a TNA Knockouts division that is in a unique and historic state. At the recent Slammiversary pay-per-view, WWE NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne defeated Masha Slamovich to also win the TNA Knockouts World Championship. With a dual-branded champion at the top of the division, the return of a top star like Killer Kelly adds much-needed depth and a potential new challenger for the gold.

Bubba the Love Sponge Claims Hulk Hogan’s Inner Circle Hid Health Decline

0

Tributes continue to pur in for Hulk Hogan following his death on July 24, but one longtime associate has chosen a more controversial approach. On his Bubba Army live stream, radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge claimed that Hogan’s nearest and dearest kept the truth from the Hulkster’s biggest fans.

“They knew he wasn’t going to make it,” Bubba said during the broadcast. “Supporters had a right to know.”

Bubba’s comments come after Hogan’s wife Sky that her husband’s heart was “strong” mere weeks before his passing. Sky shared to TMZ at the time that Hulk was recovering well following neck surgery. Similarly, Jimmy Hart had spoken of how well Hogan’s health was just one day before the Hulkster’s death.

The conflicting narratives have reignited a familiar debate: should celebrities—and those around them—be more transparent about serious health issues, or are they entitled to complete privacy in their final days? The debate is especially fierce for a name like Hogan, who built a fanbase over decades in and out of the ring.

WWE and other promotions have focused on honoring Hogan’s legacy rather than dissect the final days of his life and what was said by who. WWE has confirmed a formal celebration-of-life segment during SummerSlam weekend, while the company gave a touching tribute during WWE SmackDown.

Whether Bubba’s accusations reveal hidden truths or simply stir tabloid speculation, they underscore how polarizing Hogan’s legacy remains—even in death.

Ric Flair Opens Up About Fear of Being Next Following Hulk Hogan Death

0

Wrestling legend Ric Flair delivered an emotional response to Hulk Hogan’s sudden death during his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, revealing his own fears about mortality.

Hogan, 71, died from cardiac arrest at his Florida home on July 24, sending shockwaves through the wrestling world.

“I think he just got tired. 11 back operations, hip replacements, now a neck surgery… How much can your body take?” Flair said during the interview.

The Nature Boy, who at 75 is five years older than Hogan was at his death, acknowledged his own mortality concerns.

“We’ve all put ourselves in ridiculous positions in the business, but I mean, I’m 5 years older than Hulk, and I don’t hurt at all. I’ve had some serious health issues, but I don’t have an ache or pain in my body… Of course, it gives me anxiety that I could be next.”

Flair’s vulnerability offers a rare glimpse into wrestling’s aging superstars mindset. His comments highlight the ongoing health struggles that have plagued many wrestlers from the golden era.

The wrestling community continues to mourn Hogan’s passing, while Flair’s honest reflection serves as a sobering reminder of the physical sacrifices made by the sport’s biggest stars.

Flair also discussed his own legacy in relation to Hulk’s, conceding that Hogan and Steve Austin are the two biggest stars in the history of the business.

WWE Banking On Jelly Roll After Travis Scott Plans Implode

0

The Travis Scott experiment in WWE is seemingly over, ending what began as a high-profile crossover between the rapper and wrestling. Initially brought in through TKO CEO Ari Emanuel, Scott’s involvement was meant to elevate WWE’s mainstream presence. According to sources though, Scott failed to show up for multiple training sessions and offered minimal input during creative meetings.

This lack of commitment has left many frustrated, including former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. On Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, McIntyre argued that Scott ruined what should’ve been one of WWE’s biggest-ever moments: the crowning of a 17-time World Champion in John Cena.

“Do a six-minute run-in at WrestleMania and screw up our damn main event. Travis Scott, piece of s***!”

With the Scott experiment a dud, WWE has has pivoted to country star Jelly Roll for its upcoming SummerSlam PLE. Jelly Roll will team with Randy Orton in a celebrity tag team match against McIntyre and Logan Paul. The much-anticipated showdown has been confirmed for Night Two of WWE’s first-ever multi-night SummerSlam.

WWE insiders are already praising Jelly Roll’s eagerness and professionalism, contrasting sharply with the troubles surrounding Scott’s involvement. Jelly Roll, who appeared at SummerSlam last year, has been more than eager to put the work in to make his debut match one to remember.

The rapid shift highlights the inherent risk in celebrity-driven partnerships—especially those arranged through corporate ties rather than fan engagement. With SummerSlam packed with A-list names and high-stakes matches, WWE appears determined to avoid further misfires, seemingly leaving Scott’s involvement in the past.

Becky Lynch: ‘I’m Blown Away That It’s Been Three Years Since I Wrestled At A SummerSlam’

0

As she prepares for her return to WWE’s “Biggest Party of the Summer,” Becky Lynch has reflected on her storied history at the event, admitting she is “blown away” that it has been three years since she last competed at SummerSlam.

In a new interview with Sports Illustrated, the current WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion looked back on some of the most significant moments of her career, many of which took place at SummerSlam.

“It was my first PLE. It was where the infamous slap happened that really catapulted my career,” Lynch said. “It was also where I came back after I had my daughter and beat Bianca Belair in 26 seconds. And then a year later we were tearing the house down and then fighting side-by-side… I’m kind of blown away that it’s been three years since I wrestled at a SummerSlam.”

After a three-year absence from wrestling at the event, Lynch is set to return this weekend in a high-stakes title defense. She will put her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line against her former protegé, Lyra Valkyria, in a No Disqualification match that will serve as the culmination of their personal rivalry.

Before their No Disqualification match at SummerSlam this weekend, Lynch and Valkyria will be on opposite sides of a massive eight-woman tag team match on tonight’s go-home episode of Monday Night Raw. Lynch will team with Women’s World Champion Naomi and the Secret Her-vice, while Valkyria will team with Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, and Nikki Bella, giving fans one final preview of their intense rivalry.

Brie Bella Says Bryan Danielson’s AEW Role Is Blocking WWE Return

0

Although Nikki Bella returned to WWE at February’s Royal Rumble, and has made several appearances since, her sister remains noticeably absent from the company. On a recent episode of The Nikki & Brie Show podcast, Brie Bella shared why she hasn’t been welcomed back to WWE with her twin.

“What I wanted to bring up, when I look at that, I know my roadblock is the fact that my husband is with the rival company. For some people, it makes them uncomfortable at WWE, thinking I would be there when my husband is with AEW.”

Brie’s comments highlight the complex behind-the-scenes politics that go beyond in-ring talent as WWE seems more interested in her family ties than her ability. Even with Danielson stepping back from full-time competition, his continued backstage presence in AEW seems to weigh on WWE’s decision-makers.

While being blocked through no fault of her own could’ve left Brie angry, she instead was sympathetic to WWE’s position. After joking that she is “waiting for the call,” Brie reiterated that her absence from WWE is not her choice.

“Does it bum me out at times that I wish feelings were different? Absolutely, but it doesn’t make me angry or bitter. It makes me feel like that right there is a sign that I’m supposed to be staying in my Soft Girl Era.”

Will WWE change course and bring Brie Bella back to WWE? Fans know to ‘never say never’ in wrestling, even if it doesn’t seem to be in the works. While Nikki remains active with future matches planned, Brie will have to watch her ‘Fearless’ sister from the sidelines.

Booker T Warns Elayna Black Of Perils Of Mental Health Break

0

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has issued a warning to Elayna Black following her recent descion to take a break from pro wrestling. Speaking on his podcast, Booker T emphasized the importance of staying active in the industry, or risk fading to obscurity.

“You’ve got to stay on the horse and keep grinding. Out of sight is out of mind in this business.”

Black is best known to WWE fans as Cora Jade, and was once considered one of NXT’s brightest prospects. The young wrestler took a hiatus in late 2023 to focus on her mental health. The break was met with support from many fans and fellow wrestlers, highlighting the growing awareness of mental health issues in professional wrestling.

Black/Jade was released from WWE in May 2025, shocking fans who expected a lengthy tenure as a Superstar for her. The decision divided fans, some of whom felt WWE should have given her more time. Others argued that her absences, caused by both her mental health break and multiple injuries in the ring, made her release inevitable.

Time will tell, when, if ever, Black returns to the ring, but with her focus on her mental health, and reported success with her OnlyFans, it may be some time. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer shared that thanks to the exclusive-content platform, Black won’t be worrying about money amid her wrestling break.

“I know she was talking to somebody who I know, and she has probably made more money last month than any woman pro wrestler in the world, probably by a lot, because of OnlyFans.”

Booker’s comments have reignited the debate about talent taking time for themselves, potentially jeopardising their standing in wrestling’s hierarchy. Whatever Black does next, the two-time Hall of Famer hopes to see her back in the ring very soon.

SummerSlam Posters Hints at CM Punk-GUNTHER Main Event

0

WWE has yet to confirm which match will headline each night of WWE SummerSlam 2025, but a recently updated promotional banner on Peacock may have spoiled the surprise. New artwork for the Saturday portion of the show World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER and challenger CM Punk, while Sunday’s banner showcases John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes.

WWE typically uses its main event match to sell a Premium Live Event, and this has led to speculation that Punk vs. GUNTHER will headline SummerSlam‘s first night. If accurate, this would mark CM Punk’s first SummerSlam main event since 2012, where he left the Biggest Party of the Summer with gold around his waist.

Punk has a history of winning gold at SummerSlam, including beating Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight Championship in 2009. Punk retained World title gold in 2008, 2011, and 2012, proving that he knows how to win big at the PLE.

This development could also impact the rest of the card. Roman Reigns’ Bloodline tag match may be slotted earlier on Saturday’s show, while Cena vs. Rhodes appears poised to headline Sunday. Whatever order the show’s matches fall under, expect a massive two-night event in New Jersey.

Jeff Hardy Names His ‘Number One Moment’ In Professional Wrestling

0

TNA World Tag Team Champion Jeff Hardy has reflected on his legendary career, naming his surprise return to WWE alongside his brother Matt at WrestleMania 33 as the single greatest moment he has ever experienced in professional wrestling.

While speaking to Outside The Ring in a new interview, Jeff Hardy was asked about the return and stated that it now ranks above all other moments in his career. He explained that after a tumultuous prior exit, he never thought he would be able to go back to WWE.

“That’s my number one moment now, man. It’s above all that,” Hardy said. “It was just so welcoming and it just felt so good because WWE does feel like it’s where it all started… I was in this mindset of, ‘man, I’ll probably never end up going back to WWE. I probably burnt my bridge with them and I’ll just, I’ll never go back.’ So it was just, it felt so good, kind of being back home and especially coming out to that reaction, man, in front of a sea of humanity was, was so special.”

The iconic return took place at WrestleMania 33 when The New Day, who were hosting the event, announced The Hardy Boyz as surprise entrants in the Raw Tag Team Championship Ladder Match. The duo received a massive ovation from the crowd and went on to win the match, capturing the tag team titles in a triumphant comeback.

Undertaker Ready To See WWE LFG Rookies Brawl: “I Don’t Mind That!”

0

On the most recent edition of WW LFG, Elijah Holyfield and Drake Morreaux refused to wait for next week’s grudge match and threw hands in front of the judges. Morreaux launched himself from the top turnbuckle with a leaping cross-body that wiped out three referees. Holyfield answered with a running tackle, sending both men crashing through a ringside barricade. The brawl would spill backstage, leaving producers and security scrambling to regain control.

While this brawl may not be becoming of rookies in the eyes of some, The Undertaker liked what he saw. When asked for his verdict on the outburst, the WWE Hall of Famer who was crowned the best trainer in season one offered just four words: “I don’t mind that.”

While Undertaker had no problem with the brawl, the fight left his fellow pros stunned. Bubba Ray Dudley was heard yelling, “This isn’t what the show’s about!” as security finally pulled the two rookies apart.

Producers teased on-camera disciplinary hearings for both Holyfield and Morreaux, an act that may only further the issues between the two. With the opportunity at a WWE NXT contract up for grabs, tensions remain high as a stoic Phenom watches on.

Roxanne Perez Explains How Finn Balor Handpicked Her for Judgment Day Faction

0

Roxanne Perez’s integration into Judgment Day wasn’t accidental—it was a calculated recruitment by Finn Balor who recognized her NXT accomplishments and potential to balance the faction’s gender dynamics.

Speaking on “Casual Conversations with The Wrestling Classic,” the 22-year-old WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion revealed the strategic thinking behind her addition to one of WWE’s most dominant factions.

“I feel like everybody saw my journey on NXT and everything I was able to accomplish. I was pretty much the most accomplished NXT women’s champion from that era,” Perez explained. “So, I’m sure Finn Balor saw that. He saw why people call me the prodigy is because I am the youngest on the roster and I’ve already mastered everything about that ring. So, he needed someone to come in and help the judgment day.”

The recruitment addressed a clear numerical imbalance within the group’s structure. “You got JD, you got Dom, you got Finn, but you only have Raquel and Liv. So, why not add a third to the mixture and someone that can help the judgment day keep all the gold,” Perez noted.

Her integration has already proven successful, with Perez emphasizing her growing relationship with tag team partner Raquel Rodriguez. “What better faction to be a part of than one of the best in WWE history. I got voted in. So I’m very happy about that. And I think, you know, Raquel, she’s warming up to me a little bit. I got the win for her on Monday Night Raw and we got the win on Evolution.”

This strategic addition showcases Judgment Day’s evolution from a pure numbers game to a calculated roster of champions across multiple divisions. With tag team gold secured and Liv Morgan’s return creating potential tension, Perez’s role as the faction’s youngest member becomes increasingly crucial to their continued dominance.

In an era where social media can make or break careers, CM Punk’s mentorship of Roxanne Perez centers on a simple but powerful message: ignore the noise and focus on the dream.

During her appearance on Casual Conversations with The Wrestling Classic, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion revealed the most impactful advice from her “wrestling dad,” emphasizing how Punk’s guidance has shaped her approach to handling criticism and maintaining focus.

“To not look at Twitter and not look at the haters and not listen to any of the hate, you know, because they can be loud sometimes,” Perez shared when asked about Punk’s best piece of advice. “But it’s like we’re up there living our dream and making moments and inspiring people. So, why listen to the hate when I’m doing everything that I’ve ever wanted to do?”

The relationship between wrestling’s “Voice of the Voiceless” and WWE’s youngest champion represents a unique mentorship dynamic that transcends typical backstage relationships. Perez explained how Punk’s intervention came at a crucial time in her career development.

“I think he just saw me on Twitter and he’s like, ‘Don’t be on that.’ I’m like, ‘Okay,’” she recalled with a laugh, demonstrating the direct but caring approach Punk takes to protecting emerging talent from social media pitfalls.

This mentorship philosophy stands in stark contrast to the engagement-driven culture that often consumes professional athletes and entertainers. Punk’s emphasis on mental health and career longevity over online validation reflects lessons learned from his own turbulent relationship with social media and fan criticism.

The advice has clearly resonated with Perez as she navigates her transition from NXT standout to main roster champion, allowing her to maintain focus on in-ring performance while building meaningful connections with audiences through her work rather than online presence.

Karl Fredericks, known to WWE fans as Eddy Thorpe, has officially made his return to the independent wrestling scene. During a multi-promotional event this past Saturday, Fredericks addressed the crowd, confirming his return and taking a shot at his former employers.

On July 26, at the DPW x Prestige x West Coast Pro “Cruel Summer” event in San Francisco, Fredericks appeared in the ring during an intermission. In a promo to the live crowd, he confirmed he was back on the independent scene and stated that he has “regained his love of pro-wrestling.”

Fredericks also made comments that appeared to be directed at his former “Eddy Thorpe” character in WWE NXT. He referenced the “cowboy” sitting in Orlando and declared that he is “not their Indian,” a clear reference to his previously stated critiques that the character leaned too heavily on his Native American heritage and lacked depth.

Fredericks was part of a round of WWE talent releases on May 2nd that included several other notable names. Since their departures, Braun Strowman has begun taking independent bookings, Shayna Baszler has reportedly returned to WWE in a backstage producer role, and Elayna Black (Cora Jade) has announced she is taking a break from wrestling. Fredericks is the latest from that group to make his next move in the wrestling world.
