John Cena Names His Six ‘Wrestling Soulmates’

0

John Cena has revealed the list of superstars he considers to be his “wrestling soulmates,” naming the opponents with whom he had the best chemistry throughout his iconic, 20-plus year career.

While speaking at the Boston Fan Expo, in a Q&A transcribed by The Boston Herald, Cena was asked to name his wrestling soulmates. He listed several of his most famous rivals before adding his most recent adversary to the list.

“I have a few wrestling soulmates,” said Cena. “Those are Randy Orton, Edge, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and AJ Styles. But gosh, I can’t take any shine away from Cody Rhodes – add him, too.”

The list includes a who’s who of WWE legends from Cena’s era, many of whom he has faced during his year-long retirement tour. The inclusion of Cody Rhodes is particularly noteworthy, as their rivalry has been the centerpiece of Cena’s final run.

Cena’s heel turn at Elimination Chamber was orchestrated to set up his program with Rhodes, which saw Cena win the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. Rhodes ultimately won the title back in a brutal Street Fight in the main event of SummerSlam last weekend.

John Cena is currently in the final months of his legendary career, with his retirement set for December. His next major match is scheduled for the Clash in Paris premium live event on August 31, where he is set to go one-on-one with Logan Paul.

Cody Rhodes Reveals If SummerSlam Heel Turn Was Discussed For Him

0

Cody Rhodes has commented on speculations about his SummerSlam plans.

The WWE Quarterback recently had an interview with Jimmy Traina for SI Media. During the talk, he was asked about all the rumors of him potentially turning heel at the most recent WWE PLE and if something like this would be his decision or the management’s.

The Undisputed Champion first explained that he’s a team player, so he’ll do whatever he’s asked to. Though he will offer some suggestions for the same:

“Well, so I play for the team. So if the coach tells me this is what we’re doing, I might have a question or two about it. I can weigh an objection or not, or a comment, but also that’s the whole quarterback element. I’m gonna run the play.

So when discussions like that and Unreal’s kind of shed some light on this, but you have that writer’s room. Ed Koskey’s right there. You have Triple H. Of course, The Final Boss, always present in a way, and Nick Khan. That would be a big discussion that we would all have.”

I Don’t Think: Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes then mentioned how Triple H likes to make plans for every potential scenario while working on a big event. He claimed, however, that he didn’t hear any serious discussion of a heel turn before the PPV:

“If it was discussed, it didn’t go far. I don’t think it got to me by any means. Because I would have some ideas on maybe how I would execute it and what would happen. But again, I think if you’re Triple H and you’re looking at three years of record business and you’re looking at your team as it is.

Rhea Ripley, who’s a face of the company, CM Punk, who’s a face of the company, Seth Rollins who’s a face of the company, young Bron Breaker who’s on his way up, Jacob Fatu on his way up. I think if you look at your team, if you move a piece in a big way, does it affect the rest of the team? Do we keep running? Do we keep record business?

Who knows what it may be. But yeah, that’s a discussion that this company in the way it’s done today, it’s a team effort. Hunter’s gonna make the call, but he’s got a good war room of people to weigh it all out.”

Backstage Response To Karrion Kross’ WWE Exit (Report)

0

Karrion Kross’ time with WWE has come to an end, or so that’s what many believe. Now, a new report has revealed that those within WWE aren’t quite ready to believe the former NXT Champion is truly gone for good.

The belief is that Kross will return to the promotion, according to Wrestling Observer Radio. The report adds that talent within WWE are of the opinion that his exit is a work, though nobody can say for certain whether it is truly all for show.

Kross and Scarlett’s WWE contracts expired on August 10, and both have since publicly stated that they are no longer with the promotion. While Scarlett has already taken a booking, it is possible WWE would allow this to ‘sell’ the idea that the pair are gone, if it is a work.

The topic of WWE blurring the lines when it comes to talent exits has become more prevalent in recent years. Ron Killings has repeatedly denied that his release in 2025 was a work despite returning days later. Instead, Killings has claimed that the wealth of support by fans eventually forced WWE to bring him back.

Time will tell what’s to come for Kross and Scarlett and whether their exits from WWE are what they appear to be. For now, some within WWE are dubious of the claim.

Liv Morgan Upset At Roxanne Perez Over Tag Title Loss

0

Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez lost the Women’s Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam, a loss that hasn’t sat well with Liv Morgan. As Perez was subbing for the injured Morgan, Liv is now a former champion without being pinned or even involved in the match.

Speaking to The Wrestling Classic, Dominik Mysterio was asked about the title change and this latest setback to The Judgment Day. He admitted he hopes they reclaim the championships, especially for Perez’s sake.

“She just lost a title that wasn’t hers. You’re trying to get on Liv’s good side and you lose her title — Liv was not happy about that.”

Perez will have to make amends, Mysterio added, if she hopes to coexist with Morgan once Liv is recovered from her injury. Since Perez lost a title on Morgan’s behalf, Dominik has an idea in mind.

Maybe win the Women’s World Heavyweight Championship and hand it to Liv when she comes back. Roxanne just needs to make up for it.

Morgan is currently sidelined following shoulder surgery and is expected to be out for at least six months. It remains to be seen whether Perez will find a way to make it up to Morgan once she returns, as time is of the essence.

Backstage Update On Jack Perry’s AEW Status

0

A new report has provided an update on the status of former TNT Champion Jack Perry, suggesting that he “could be on the way back” to All Elite Wrestling after a nine-month absence from television.

During a Fightful Select Answers Q&A session, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about Jack Perry’s status. Sapp noted that while he hasn’t heard anything definitive, there has been some discussion that the AEW original “could be on the way back” to the company.

This follows a report from WrestleVotes in July which stated that Perry had been backstage at recent AEW television tapings and was said to be in good spirits. It is believed that Perry has not been dealing with an injury and has simply been at home during his time away from the ring.

Perry has not appeared on AEW programming since he lost the TNT Championship to Daniel Garcia at the Full Gear pay-per-view in November 2024. His last official match was in January of this year, when he unsuccessfully challenged Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship at the Wrestle Dynasty event.

As an “AEW original” who signed with the company in January 2019, Perry has had a decorated career. In addition to his reign as TNT Champion, he is also a former FTW Champion and a former AEW World Tag Team Champion with his previous partner, Luchasaurus.

Linda Hogan Honors Hulk On Late WWE Icon’s Birthday

0

The wrestling world is still mourning the loss of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan who died in July 2025 aged 71. August 11 would have marked Hogan’s 72nd birthday, a fact that his ex-wife Linda hasn’t forgotten.

Linda took to Instagram to post a framed throwback photo from 1981, showing the couple in a warm embrace. While the pair divorced years before Hulk’s death, Linda made clear she misses her friend.

“Me and Hulkster. 1981 Happy Birthday Terry. I love and miss you so much.”

Hogan’s death left a massive void in professional wrestling, with WWE paying tribute to him across SmackDown, Raw, and NXT. Several promotions, including TNA Wrestling, would also share their tributes to Hulk Hogan, a testament to the influence he had on the wrestling world.

Few people knew Hulk Hogan better than Linda and her tribute is much more than honoring a notable wrestler. Our thoughts remain with Linda and the Hogan family at this difficult time.

Tyrese Haliburton Critiques John Cena’s Heel Run

0

Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton recently shared his thoughts on 17-time World Champion John Cena’s heel run.

Earlier this year, John Cena embraced his dark side for the first time in 20 years. He turned his back on the WWE Universe and captured the Undisputed WWE title during the run. However, after five months, he switched back to being a babyface ahead of his Undisputed WWE Championship title defense against Cody Rhodes at WWE SummerSlam.

Cena dropped the title to Rhodes at the show and he has since been a babyface. During the debut episode of his Self Made Sessions podcast, Tyrese Haliburton said he wasn’t a fan of the heel run but he enjoyed the pipebomb after the heel turn.

Haliburton wished that the turn was explained in a better manner. Tyrese Haliburton, who was in attendance at WWE SummerSlam, said that he was glad that John Cena returned to being a babyface and praised his match against Cody Rhodes.

Tyrese Haliburton said:

“I was cool with it, but I’m glad we kind of just swung that to the wayside and we’re back to being a face. I was at SummerSlam obviously, and when the colors showed up, the pop was crazy, and I thought that that Cena/Cody match is the best match I’ve ever watched in person. I wasn’t necessarily a fan of the heel run but I enjoyed the pipebomb, I thought it was funny, he probably enjoyed it himself, like had fun doing it. I don’t know, I wish it was done a little different, like I wish we would’ve got him and Rock and a better explanation as to why he turned heel and I wish we coulda got a faction or something but, I’m just gonna pretend it never happened — he was a face the whole time. I went and watched him at SummerSlam. He was a face so, that’s what I’m rocking with.”

John Cena is currently gearing up to face Logan Paul at the upcoming WWE Clash in Paris 2025 which will take place at the Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, France on August 31st, 2025. This match has drawn mixed reactions from fans as some expressed disappointment that his opponent is Logan Paul rather than other credible opponents.

WWE Raw Preview: Women’s Title Match, Becky Lynch, Sami Zayn

0

WWE Raw rolls into Quebec City tonight with a loaded lineup headlined by a Women’s World Championship bout, a featured match for Becky Lynch, and hometown favorite Sami Zayn in action.

Here’s everything to watch for heading into Monday night’s show from Centre Videotron:

Opening Segment: CM Punk Live

CM Punk is slated to open the show live on the mic. With tensions rising across Raw’s main-event scene, Punk’s words—and whoever answers—could shape the trajectory of the night, including surprise confrontations or match announcements.

Women’s World Championship: Naomi (c) vs. IYO SKY

Naomi puts the Women’s World Title on the line against former champion IYO SKY in a marquee matchup. SKY’s experience and speed present a unique challenge, but Naomi’s recent form has been strong, with momentum building as WWE eyes bigger fall events. Story beats to watch include Bayley/Damage CTRL proximity, potential post-match stare-downs, and any teases connected to upcoming international premium live events.

Becky Lynch in Action vs. Maxxine Dupri (Non-Title)

Becky Lynch returns to Raw singles action against Maxxine Dupri. Dupri has shown flashes of growth, but the “Big Time” stage favors Lynch, who will be looking to send a message to the women’s division after recent back-and-forths. Keep an eye on whether this sets up Becky’s next pay-per-view program and any ringside distractions that could swing momentum mid-match.

Sami Zayn Competes in Quebec

Hometown energy will be off the charts as Sami Zayn competes in Quebec City. Expect a raucous ovation and elevated stakes as Zayn looks to capitalize on home-field advantage and keep himself in the conversation for top contender status. Watch for post-match angles, interference, or authority figure rulings that extend Zayn’s current story arc.

Other Notes and What to Watch

Fallout angles from last week’s closing chaos could bring Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed into the mix. Tag and mid-card stories may advance with quick-hitting segments; look for backstage interviews to seed future title challengers. Quebec City crowd is typically hot—expect strong reactions that may influence match pacing and segment timing.

For real-time updates, match results, and backstage news from Raw, keep it locked on SEScoops all night.

Ric Flair On Battling Anxiety After Hulk Hogan’s Death

0

The wrestling world lost Hulk Hogan in July 2025 at the age of 71, marking the end for arguably the industry’s biggest star. Few people knew Hogan better than fellow wrestling icon Ric Flair, who has opened up about his thought process since his death.

In a conversation with Clay Edwards, Flair commented on the death of Hogan. Not only does the two-time WWE Hall of Famer miss his friend, but it has left the older Flair anxious for his own future.

“When Hogan went, it kind of gave me anxiety ‘cause I’m 5 years older than he is.”

Flair attended Hogan’s funeral, the Nature Boy added, a solemn affair that featured a guest list including Vince McMahon and his family. While Flair and Hogan battled several times on TV, the pair were never as hostile as some fans believe.

“People always wanted to paint us as enemies, but we were actually very, very close friends. Hulk lent me money when Reid was sick… One of the first to visit me when I was in the hospital with a 2% chance of living.”

At 76 and having faced several health battles of his own, Flair is well-aware of his own mortality. For the wrestling legend, the death of his friend isn’t just a loss, but a sad reminder of his fleeing time.

Karrion Kross Tells All On WrestleMania Promo, Backstage Response

0

Karrion Kross is no longer with WWE as he and the promotion failed to come to terms over a new contract. Kross’ exit comes mere months after his captivating promo following a match at WrestleMania 41.

The promo in question instantly had fans talking and reports sprang out about backstage reactions and so-called heat. Appearing on his YouTube channel, Kross made clear that what he had to say did not get him in trouble.

“They’re like ‘That was amazing.’ I said ‘Thank you, are we good?’ And he [Triple H] said ‘We are very good! That is nuts. That’s the guy!”

Kross’ promo, in which he discussed creative frustrations, had fans wondering if he had ‘gone into business for himself.’ It appears that those within WWE were similarly unsure as Kross felt the need to make things clear.

“I said before I left ‘Guys, please make sure everybody knows this was a work. Let them know I’m not actually mad, I love it here.’ I’m just doing my job. I have to create compelling things for the audience to believe.”

Despite his words taking the wrestling world by storm, this didn’t lead Kross to a bigger role in WWE or championship gold. Whatever Kross has to say next, it will take place beyond the scope of a WWE camera.

Karrion Kross On WWE Creative: A Good Soldier Gets Their Time Cut

0

Karrion Kross has openly criticized WWE’s creative process, voicing his frustrations with how management handles talent input and on-screen opportunities. Kross, alongside his wife Scarlett, both left WWE on August 10, 2025, after they and WWE failed to come to terms over a new deal.

According to Kross, being a “good soldier” in WWE—someone who follows direction without pushback—can easily backfire. Instead of being rewarded for being reliable, a ‘good soldier’ like Kross instead sees their TV time reduced or their ideas shelved.

Kross’s remarks highlight a common frustration among WWE talent: the struggle to have creative contributions taken seriously in a tightly controlled environment. While WWE has allowed for more creative freedom since the exit of Vince McMahon, many talents on the massive roster continue to struggle o find a regular spot on programming.

Kross earned high praise from fans for taking the initiative and expanding his character online through his own creative ideas. Despite this abundance of creativity, as well as fan support, this didn’t lead to many significant wins or any championship gold on the main roster.

While Kross and Scarlett are gone from WWE, they now have the chance to explore their creative ideas more than ever.

CM Punk Hasn’t Changed For The Better, Claims WWE Alum

0

CM Punk has been incident-free since returning to WWE in 2023, in stark contrast to his controversial exit from the promotion a decade prior. While Punk and others have spoken about the ‘Chicago-Made’ star maturing and being better this time around, one WWE alum isn’t buying it.

On his YouTube channel, Maven Huffman reviewed WWE Unreal and Punk’s part on the new series. During his evaluation, Maven argued that Punk has not changed as much as fans, Punk, or WWE, are willing to claim.

“The new, brand new and improved, lighter side of Punk that Hunter claims he heard over the phone or he met in person and saw and said ‘Hey, let’s give him another shot,’ that’s all bulls**t.”

While Maven believes Punk hasn’t actually changed for the better, that isn’t a bad thing as far as the Tough Enough alum is concerned.

“It’s the same dude. But, I didn’t think that dude needed to change anyway.”

Despite Maven’s claim, several reports have come out claiming Punk is far more level-headed today and is eager to help out other talent. While some had reservations about bringing him back, especially after his termination from AEW, Punk has proven to be reliable in WWE.

Punk remains a regular on WWE Raw, where he is in a bitter feud with Seth Rollins. It remains to be seen if he’ll ever convince his doubters.

Hurricane Helms Calls Out WWE Hall of Fame Double Standard

0

Despite a lengthy and notable career in the ring, Shawn ‘Hurricane’ Helms has yet to take a place as part of the WWE Hall of Fame. Now, the former Superstar is speaking up about what he perceives as a different standard for smaller talents hoping to be inducted.

A fan recently took to X to tell Helms, “You should be in the Hall of Fame sir,” a sentiment Helms agreed with. However, he also noted that “little guys” like himself simply aren’t evaluated the same way as their larger counterparts.

This isn’t the first time Helms has spoken about getting his due for his wrestling career. In April, Helms suggested that he’ll only get his ‘flowers’ after he dies, if he gets them at all.

In WWE, Helms is a two-time Cruiserweight Champion, a title he held for over a year between 20006 and 2007. With a European title, Hardcore title, and two Tag Team Title reigns to his name, Helms certainly has accolades fitting a WWE Hall of Famer.

Time will tell if Helms, who would later work as a WWE Producer, will ever get his due. Though he’s not as active in the ring as he once was, there’s no shortage of fans hoping to see the superhero get his spot in the Hall of Fame.

WWE LFG Season 2 Star Injured Mid-Match

0

The August 10 episode of WWE LFG Season 2 on A&E took a frightening turn when Sirena Linton suffered an in-ring injury. During her match with Bayley Humphrey, Linton was slammed into the mat, and appeared disoriented shortly after. This prompted the referee to signal for medical assistance with the “X” gesture as staff rushed into the ring.

The lights came up as officials attened to Linton and it was Humphrey and Booker T who helped escort Linton backstage. Linton received a round of applause for her toughness and later admitted “I blacked out and didn’t know where I was during the match,” before being sent for further medical evaluation.

The show went on ahead as planned but Linton wasn’t seen for the rest of the show. The incident served as a stark reminder that while WWE LFG may be a reality competition, the physical risks in the ring are very real.

Fans are now anxiously awaiting updates on her condition and whether she can continue in the competition. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Linton and her future journey as a potential WWE Superstar.

Former WWE Star Scarlett Bordeaux Announces Independent Booking Availability

0

Former WWE performer Scarlett Bordeaux has officially announced her departure from the company while expressing heartfelt gratitude to both colleagues and fans in an emotional social media message.

Taking to Twitter, Bordeaux reflected on her WWE tenure, stating, “My time in WWE has been an incredible ride, and I can truly say it’s been the best locker room I’ve ever been part of. These people aren’t just coworkers, they’re family.”

The performer, known for her “Smokeshow” character, specifically thanked WWE fans for their unwavering support throughout her run. “To the fans, you’ve never just been a crowd. You’ve been our partners in every fight and the reason we give everything for this,” Bordeaux wrote.

Looking ahead, Bordeaux announced her immediate availability for independent wrestling bookings worldwide. “The next chapter starts now and I’m ready to bring something unforgettable to any stage, anywhere in the world. If you want The Smokeshow on your show… let’s make it happen.”

Wrestling promoters and fans interested in booking appearances can contact Bordeaux directly at [email protected].

The announcement marks the beginning of Bordeaux’s independent wrestling career following her WWE departure, with the performer expressing enthusiasm about connecting with audiences across the global wrestling scene.

Karrion Kross Expresses ‘Profound Disappointment’ Over WWE Contract

0

WWE’s Karrion Kross has revealed his contract expires on August 10th, expressing profound frustration over what he describes as disappointing negotiations despite his recent surge in fan popularity and organic support.

In a candid interview, Kross disclosed that despite approaching WWE about renegotiating in January, substantive discussions have been minimal. “My contract is up August 10th,” Kross stated. “I expressed interest to renegotiate in early January with WWE. Like I think it’s crazy. It’s like preposterous that anyone would think that I wouldn’t want to be here or like go somewhere else.”

The timing is particularly notable given Kross’s unprecedented organic fan movement and increased merchandise sales. However, he revealed his disappointment with the negotiation process: “So many many months have gone by and never had a single conversation about it until recently. And I don’t even feel like the conversation I had recently was like an actual serious one.”

The conversation, according to Kross, “made me really angry because I just didn’t feel like it was a real conversation. Someone had contacted me and we had briefly discussed it. It was a very short conversation and the conversation was done and there wasn’t really anything that was discussed of real substance.”

Despite the apparent lack of progress, Kross emphasized his commitment to WWE and desire to remain with the company. “I would love to stay with WWE. And I’d love ideally to finish my career there. I really would. I don’t know what’s going to happen, though.”

The uncertainty comes at a time when Kross has experienced an unprecedented surge in fan support, described by industry veterans as organic and reminiscent of historic WWE fan movements. His situation represents a significant talent retention challenge for WWE amid an increasingly competitive wrestling landscape.

With the deadline rapidly approaching and his SummerSlam positioning, Kross’s future remains uncertain despite clear fan investment in his character and his expressed loyalty to the company.

Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s WWE Raw Appearance Cancelled Last-Minute Before Contract Expiration

0

Karrion Kross and Scarlett have officially parted ways with WWE after their contracts expired, with both wrestlers’ profiles now moved to the Alumni section of the company website. According to a new report from Fightful Select, the departure took an unexpected turn when WWE sources revealed that Kross and Scarlett were originally scheduled to travel to Monday Night Raw this past week. However, the company changed their travel plans at the last minute, and neither talent appeared at the show.

While clips of Kross’ recent match with Sami Zayn did air during Raw, a significant storyline element was left unresolved. Kross had previously agreed to a stipulation that would require him to publicly admit he was wrong about Zayn if he lost their match. Despite losing the bout, no mention was made of Kross fulfilling this stipulation during Monday’s broadcast.

The last-minute travel cancellation raises questions about the circumstances surrounding their WWE departure and whether there were behind-the-scenes complications in their final days with the company. The unresolved storyline with Zayn adds another layer to what appears to be an abrupt ending to both wrestlers’ WWE tenures.

Kross, who had multiple runs with the company including a stint as NXT Champion, and Scarlett, who served as his manager and had her own in-ring appearances, now join the growing list of talent departures from WWE in recent months.

The wrestling community will be watching to see where both talents land next, as their departure leaves several storylines incomplete and questions about their WWE exit unanswered.

Adriana Rizzo Suffers Torn ACL and Meniscus: “Here We Go Again”

0

WWE NXT star Adriana Rizzo announced via social media that she has suffered a torn ACL and meniscus, marking another significant injury setback in her young WWE career. The member of The D’Angelo Family took to Twitter to share the news with fans, displaying characteristic resilience despite the devastating diagnosis.

“Here we go again… torn ACL + meniscus. A setback, not the end. As some of you know, I’ve had a string of bad luck with injuries. Ready to attack this and come back 100% healthy for the first time in my WWE career,” Rizzo wrote in her emotional post.

The injury represents a cruel twist of fate for the 26-year-old performer, who has already endured significant time away from the ring due to previous health issues. Rizzo was previously sidelined for almost a year due to an Achilles tendon rupture, which delayed her in-ring debut and WWE career progression.

Since making her televised NXT debut in January 2024, Rizzo has established herself as a key member of The D’Angelo Family alongside Tony D’Angelo, Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, and Luca Crusifino.

The timeline for ACL and meniscus injuries typically ranges from 6-12 months, meaning Rizzo could potentially miss the remainder of 2025.

“I’m truly excited to show the world what I can really do. Sometimes you gotta get off multiplayer and progress your story mode. I believe i’m the face of the future and the reason your girl stopped texting you back

“This is a brand new beginning. I am becoming the best version of myself. You have only seen a glimpse of my true potential, and im just scratching the surface. I know that to some this can be a dark time, but stars can’t shine without darkness.

0

Fans at the latest WWE NXT live event must have said Joe Hendry’s name as the TNA star made a surprise appearance in Venice, Florida. As expected, Hendry received a raucous ovation from the live crowd as the former TNA World Champion proved to be as popular as ever.

Karrion Kross and Scarlett Moved to WWE Alumni Section

0

WWE has moved Karrion Kross and Scarlett to the alumni section of their roster page as their contracts expired this week. This administrative change typically indicates the conclusion of their WWE deals.

Kross’ contractual situation has been a significant story in recent weeks, with the wrestler himself, Triple H, and Paul Heyman all addressing it publicly. All parties have encouraged fans to “stay tuned” to see how the situation unfolds.

Neither WWE nor the wrestlers have issued official statements regarding their departures or future plans. The duo returned to WWE in 2022, with Scarlett serving as Kross’s manager.

Further updates will follow as more information becomes available.

It’s Surreal: Dominik Mysterio On Being WWE’s Loved Heel

0

WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio has pulled off a rare feat in wrestling, organically flipping from reviled heel to fan favorite. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, ‘Dirty Dom’ reflected on the change that has come about without drastically altering his character.

“It’s surreal. I haven’t changed a thing,” he said. “I’m still Dirty Dom, the deadbeat dad. We don’t even talk about Voldemort anymore.”

The change was stark at SummerSlam, where fans roared for Dominik despite his matchup against beloved veteran AJ Styles. For Mysterio, boos or cheers all mean the same thing when the reaction is loud enough.

“As long as they’re making noise, I’m good. I’m just having fun, collecting gold.”

Dominik’s popularity highlights a modern wrestling trend where the ideas of clear-cut good-guys and bad-guys are becoming increasingly blurred. With fans having greater access to wrestlers than ever before, fans are able to see more of what goes into making Dominik’s character.

Mysterio could soon have more gold around his waist as he is set to challenge for the AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania. Despite Mysterio’s stated opposition to lucha’s past, especially his father, expect a raucous ovation of ‘Dirty Dom’ at the event.

Rhea Ripley Reveals Disturbing Valentine’s Day Stalking Incident

0

Rhea Ripley was once the victim of a chilling Valentine’s Day experience the former WWE Women’s World Champion has shared. Speaking on Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, Ripley recalled a fan finding her private residence and appearing on her Ring camera.

“She left a poem about us being the sun and moon, meant to be together. If I’d been home, I would’ve answered the door and felt so uncomfortable. I don’t want to feel that way in my own house.”

Ripley’s experience is worringly common among wrestlers, especially female talent who are subjected to unwanted advances. Saraya recently changed her policy over meeting fans when one went too far, proving how an individual can have a major impact. In 2020, Sonya Deville was the victim of an attempted kidnapping while in her home.

“Some think they own us because we’re on TV weekly,” Ripley said. “I’m a human being. I grew up like everyone else. I don’t want random people showing up at my door.”

Due to social media and projects like WWE Unreal, fans now have a greater access to talent than arguably any other point in pro wrestling. Nevertheless, fans still need to appreciate that wrestlers like any human deserves privacy.

While Ripley is grateful for the support of fans, boundaries exist for a reason. Though Rhea Ripley will continue to entertain and amaze on TV and at PLEs, she is deserving of a place free from the public eye.

Paul Heyman: CM Punk Earned WrestleMania Main Event On His Own

Paul Heyman and CM Punk’s friendship came to a severe end at WrestleMania 41, but not before they shared a touching moments backstage. On The Ariel Helwani Show, Heyman shared the heartfelt words they exchanged in the gorilla position before Punk’s first WrestleMania main event.

“I told him, ‘You made it, and you did it on your own terms,’” Heyman recounted. “This isn’t charity, politics, or appeasement. You’re in the main event of WrestleMania because you earned it.”

For Punk, the moment capped a decade-long odyssey marked by a bitter WWE exit in 2014 and a triumphant return close to a decade later. For Heyman, he found it important to remind Punk that this spot headlining WWE’s biggest show was an accomplishment nobody could take from him.

“You worked your whole life for this. Enjoy it for everything it is—you made this happen… I’m so proud of you, and the best part is we get to walk out there together. Thank you for letting me be a part of it.”

Punk’s first WrestleMania main event saw him share the ring with two of WWE’s biggest names: Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Heyman, who has a connection to all three, said on the show that nobody was the odd man out.

“All three deserve to hear ‘Thank you for the house.’ Seth gave the most brilliant promos of his career.”

Today, Punk and Heyman are bitter rivals as Paul has aligned with Rollins. No matter what may come next for the pair though, the interaction they shared backstage in April embodies wrestling’s unique blend of raw human connection and grand narrative.
