AEW President Tony Khan officially announced today that Worlds End will take place at the NOW Arena in Chicago on December 27, 2025, providing fans with another major pay-per-view destination for the holiday season.

Cody Rhodes Reveals The Job His Daughter Thinks He Has

0

In the new “WWE: Unreal” docuseries on Netflix, Cody Rhodes shared a heartwarming and humorous story about his family life, revealing that his four-year-old daughter, Liberty, has a unique idea of what he does for a living.

During the first episode of the series, Cody’s wife, Brandi Rhodes, first revealed her daughter’s perception of her father’s career. “Libby thinks that Cody is a professional dancer,” Brandi said. Cody then explained why his daughter came to that conclusion, connecting it to the spectacle of his ring entrance.

“Because she saw entrances, which is the big music and the lighting, I think she thinks there’s a component of dancing to it and has asked me before, ‘are you going to go dancing?’, ‘will you be dancing,’” Cody explained.

“The American Nightmare,” who has had a long and storied career across multiple major wrestling promotions, said he is more than happy to embrace his daughter’s view of his profession.

“I think she’s even said when we showed her a couple of clips on YouTube, ‘oh, this is the dancing.’ It’s not the worst… parallel. I’m good with that,” he said. “If.. when asked what Papa does for a living, ‘I’m a dancer’. For my daughter, I’ll be the best dang dancer I possibly can be.”

Rhodes will be “dancing” his way to the ring this coming weekend for the biggest match of his current WWE run. He is scheduled to challenge John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a Street Fight in the main event of Night Two of the SummerSlam premium live event on Sunday, August 3rd.

Adam Pearce Reveals Fan Paid Him To Tell Him He Should Be Fired

0

Adam Pearce may not be to everyone’s taste, and one ‘fan’ was ready to fork out their hard earned money to make this clear to the Raw GM. On Facebook, Pearce shared that somebody was willing to subscribe to his profile, all so they could share their hope that Pearce is soon out of a job.

“Was blessed enough just now to see a profanity-filled comment by a subscriber basically saying that he hopes I get fired.

“Yes, someone paid my nominal subscriber fee to insult me.

“I repeat: An adult human being of suspect mental acuity PAID A FEE to insult me.

“That’s heat, boys and girls. ? Love somebody today”

Despite the fan’s suggestion, there is no indication that WWE intends to part ways with Pearce. The five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion signed with WWE in May 2015, first as a full-time trainer and producer of WWE NXT. He was later moved to the main roster and in October 2023, was appointed the General Manager of WWE Raw by Triple H.

With the Road to SummerSlam nearing its end, Pearce will be kept especially busy today, both on-screen and in his producer role. While some may dream of a day when they hear that Pearce has been wished all the best in his future endeavors, that doesn’t appear to be coming anytime soon.

Bianca Belair Details Gruesome WrestleMania Injury With ET Comparrison

0

Bianca Belair has revealed new details about the gruesome finger injury she suffered during WrestleMania 41, and the lasting impact it has had on her. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Belair recounted the injury in vivid detail, describing how her finger resembled the awkwardly shaped digit of a beloved movie alien.

“They said my finger looked like it had a kneecap,” she explained. “It looked like E.T.’s finger. It was bad.”

The injury occurred during the critically acclaimed triple threat match against Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY with SKY’s WWE Women’s World Title on the line. When Belair attempted a high-risk triple German suplex from the top rope, her hand became trapped beneath Ripley during the maneuver.

“When my hand went back, it got stuck under her, and she literally crashed on my hand.”

The damage was extensive to the EST, including a fracture in the joint and middle of the finger in question. Despite the incredibly painful moment, Belair perservered and played her role in what many are considering one of the greatest WWE Women’s matches of all time.

Belair took months off from WWE to recover before making her return at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Even months after the injury, the lasting effect of this one spot continues to be felt.

“It’s healed, but it won’t fully straighten. I have to wear my ring on my right hand now because it doesn’t fit anymore.”

Though the worst pain has passed, Belair shared that she still experiences discomfort when her finger is bumped or if she tries to extend it completely. This will of course be a major issue for Belair given her athletic role that relies heavily on using her hands.

Despite her return as a referee, questions remain as to when the EST will next wrestle. Whatever the future holds for Belair, she plans to take everything in her stride as one of WWE’s most popular Superstars.

NXT’s Sol Ruca Breaking Records As A WWE Double Champion

0

Sol Ruca isn’t just the WWE Women’s North American Champion, but also the reigning WWE Speed Women’s Champion. Not only is the young Superstar already a double champion, but she’s breaking records along the way.

This week, Ruca passed 100 days as the Women’s North American Champion, and also passed 100 days as the WWE Speed Women’s Champion. With these milestones, Ruca is the longest reigning Women’s double-champion of all time, surpassing the likes of Bayley, Becky Lynch, Stephanie Vaquer, Paige/Saraya, and more.

H/T to @WrestlingStatcast for uncovering this stat. Stay tuned to SEScoops for more interesting wrestling facts and statistics.

Ruca is only the second Superstar to hold an NXT and non-NXT Championship at the same time, joining Paige/Saraya who briefly held the NXT Women’s and WWE Divas Titles. Ruca won her WWE Speed Women’s title from Candice LeRae, dethroning the inaugural champion during a Speed taping in April 2025.

In July, Ruca made her WWE main roster debut on SmackDown as part of the build to WWE Evolution 2. With Ruca impressing both in and out of WWE NXT, it may be just a matter of time before a move to either SmackDown or Raw becomes a permanent thing.

Rhea Ripley on Working With Buddy Matthews: Anything Could Happen

0

Rhea Ripley and Buddy Matthews may currently be working in different promotions, but could an on-screen angle work between the two one day. The pair are a real-life couple who tied the knot in 2024, leaving fans hopeful that the pair will one-day be able to work on-screen as a unit, despite the WWE-AEW divide.

Ripley is no stranger to relationships playing out on-screen, albeit kayfabe ones. Speaking to Allenownz Wrasslin, Ripley reflected on how unexpected her on-screen chemistry with Dominik Mysterio was. While Ripley didn’t see the partnership coming, once it did, it clicked.

“Just to see Rhea, the brute that she is, in a relationship with Dominik Mysterio out of all people — and have that dynamic where I’m the muscle but he’s sneaky — we bounce off each other so well.”

Mysterio and Ripley officially split in 2024 and ‘Dirty Dom’ has since entered a (kayfabe) relationship with Liv Morgan. For Ripley, her success with Mysterio has left her believing working with Matthews could work, if he ever returned to WWE.

“I don’t know if my husband will ever come back. If he does come back, then we could do something on TV. I don’t know. Anything could really happen.”

It’s not just the pair being in two different companies that stands in the way of the pair working on-screen together. For Rhea Ripley, she’s unsure that working with Matthews will be seen as just a rip-off of her previous WWE coupling.

“I don’t know if I want to try and recreate that at all with anyone else or if that was like my one and done, because that was just something that came together so organically.”

Matthews hasn’t competed for WWE in over four years, but fans know to never count out a return. As for Ripley, she remains one of WWE’s biggest stars today, and is at least open to working with her husband on TV.

Brooke Hogan Wanted No Part of Hulk Hogan’s Will (Report)

0

Brooke Hogan is mourning the death of her father Hulk Hogan, who died in July 2025 aged 71, and Brooke isn’t expecting anything from his will. According to sources close to Brooke via TMZ, she asked to be removed from her father’s will back in 2023. The reason? Brooke reportedly did not trust those in Hulk Hogan’s inner circle, fearing potential legal and financial complications. One source told TMZ that “She didn’t trust a single person around him.”

Brooke’s concern for her father was said to be solely on his well-being, not his wealth. Brooke and Hulk often clashed over who he allowed into his personal and financial life before she requested to be removed from his will, the report adds. Though Brooke is heartbroken at this time, she is at peace with her decision, as one source said:

“She’s never been about money. She won’t be getting anything—and she’s totally okay with that.”

Brooke will still receive a modest sum from a separate life insurance trust Hulk had established, which she plans to use for her children’s college savings—a choice that reflects her focus on family over fortune.

It remains to be seen who controls Hulk’s estate, and there has already been some startling claims against his inner circle. With Hogan having made millions through wrestling and his other endeavors, his estate will be highly sought after.

As for Brooke, her focus is on her family, including her husband and their children. Our thoughts remain with her and the Hogan family at this time.

Nia Jax Causes Chaos In WWE NXT Return

0

WWE delivered a major episode of NXT on July 29, and Nia Jax made a surprise return to the silver brand to cause some destruction. During a match between Lash Legend and Fallon Henley, things took a shocking turn when Jax appeared to attack Lash.

Jax dismantled Legend ag ringside, before rolling the Meta Four alum back in the ring. This assault allowed Henley to capitalize and score the pinfall victory. After the match, Henley exited while Jax stayed behind to inflict more damage. She landed a devastating splash in the corner before celebrating to a stunned crowd.

Jax is the latest main roster talent to appear in WWE NXT, joining the likes of AJ Styles, the New Day, Natalya, Baron Corbin, and others. With her return to NXT, Jax adds more star power to the silver brand and will give Legend a serious foe.

Jax was part of WWE NXT from 2015 to 2016, and now fans can expect her on the brand again. Stay tuned to see what comes next from the former WWE Women’s Champion.

Names Revealed For WWE’s SummerSlam Week Talent Tryouts

0

With SummerSlam week officially underway, WWE is holding a major set of talent tryouts in New Jersey. A new report has revealed several of the names participating, including a nearly seven-foot-tall giant and a host of European independent stars.

According to a report from Fightful Select, one of the participants confirmed for the tryout is the nearly seven-foot-tall Ben Bishop. A WWE source reportedly confirmed his participation to Fightful with a joke, saying, “I thought we met our short quota by bringing in Big Trouble Ben Bishop for a tryout next week,” a reference to the recent referee tryout held for the much smaller Leyla Hirsch.

The report also revealed that several talents from the European independent scene have been brought in for the tryouts. Names from the UK and Irish scenes who are in attendance include Goldenboy Santos, Rayne Leverkusen, LJ Cleary, Omari, and CBL. In addition to the wrestlers, influencer Meghan Walker is also reportedly part of the event.

The list of names revealed for this week’s tryout aligns with a recent report about WWE’s evolving recruitment strategy. It was reported that the SummerSlam week tryouts would feature a diverse mix of talent, including experienced independent wrestlers, not just the college athletes that had been the primary focus in recent years. The inclusion of established names from the European indie scene appears to confirm this shift in philosophy.

Vince McMahon Cited After Multi-Vehicle Connecticut Crash

0

On July 24, 2025, WWE executive Vince McMahon was involved in a multi-vehicle crash on Route 15 in Westport, Connecticut, not Stamford as some early reports suggested. According to official police statements, McMahon was cited for reckless driving and following too closely after the incident. The crash, which drew significant attention due to McMahon’s high profile, did not result in any life-threatening injuries, but raised questions about the circumstances leading up to the collision.

Barbara Doran, a witness who posted about the incident on Facebook, claimed that McMahon was driving at speeds between 80 and 90 miles per hour. In her post, Doran wrote, “I saw the whole thing happen. He was flying down Route 15, easily going 80-90 mph. The police were right behind him, lights flashing. It looked like a pursuit.” Doran’s account has not been independently verified, but it has contributed to the public’s interest in the case.

Police have confirmed that McMahon will be required to appear in court on August 26, 2025, to address the charges. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details about the events leading up to the crash or whether additional charges may be filed. As more information becomes available, updates will be provided to clarify the full circumstances of the incident.

Nicole Matthews Defends Female Wrestlers Against Historical WWE Mistreatment

0

Veteran wrestler Nicole Matthews has spoken out against WWE’s historical mistreatment of female performers, specifically defending Kaitlyn and Maxine following renewed criticism of their infamous NXT Season 3 match from 2010.

The controversy began when a WWE fan shared footage of the match, writing “We just set the business back about 60 years.” The match, which won Wrestling Observer’s “Worst Match of the Year” award, became notorious for commentator Michael Cole taking a phone call from his mother during the broadcast.

“This shit pissed me off so much. You set people up to fail, and then fucking laugh at them when they do. How is this fair?” – Nicole Matthews

Matthews emphasized how the wrestlers were inadequately prepared, with one fan noting that performers had only “1 month of wrestling training” before being thrust into a televised match designed to fail. The situation was made worse by WWE immediately following the match with a “Stand Up for WWE” video addressing “unfair attacks” on the company.

The veteran wrestler highlighted the stark contrast between then and now, stating she’s “so happy to see women wrestling THRIVING right now.” Matthews noted that current success makes it “that much more impressive when you revisit the absolute bullshit women had to deal with” during that era.

Both Kaitlyn and Maxine went on to achieve success despite the early setback, with Kaitlyn becoming WWE Divas Champion and Maxine finding success in other promotions. Matthews’ criticism underscores how far women’s wrestling has progressed from the systemic problems that plagued early NXT seasons.

Mercedes Moné Seeks Travel Companion to Carry Championship Titles

0

Mercedes Moné Varnado is looking for a dedicated travel companion in what might be one of the most unique job postings in professional wrestling.

The wrestling star took to social media seeking someone willing to travel the world and carry her championship titles.

“Serious inquiries only! Looking for someone who wants to travel the world and carry my titles. Must live in Orlando, FL ?” – Mercedes Moné Varnado

The role appears to combine elements of personal assistant and brand representation, with the successful candidate accompanying the wrestling star on her global travels while handling her championship hardware. The money emoji in the original post hints at competitive compensation for the right person.

For wrestling fans in the Orlando area, this represents an unprecedented opportunity to work closely with one of the industry’s prominent figures while experiencing international travel.

The “serious inquiries only” disclaimer emphasizes that Moné is genuinely seeking candidates.

Becky Lynch Says Fans Who Disliked SummerSlam 2021 Finish ‘Missed The Story’

0

As she prepares for her return to WWE’s “Biggest Party of the Summer,” Becky Lynch has reflected on one of the most controversial moments of her career: her quick victory over Bianca Belair at SummerSlam 2021. In a new interview, Lynch defended the booking decision as a necessary part of a year-long story.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Lynch discussed her surprise return at the 2021 event, where she defeated then-champion Bianca Belair in just 26 seconds. She explained that the moment was designed to elicit a strong negative reaction and set the stage for Belair’s eventual triumphant comeback.

“It was the exact outcome you wanted. You wanted to root for Bianca, you wanted to hate me, you wanted to feel like she was robbed and had something to come back from,” Lynch said.

The story culminated at WrestleMania 38 the following year, where Belair defeated Lynch to win back the championship in a critically acclaimed match. Lynch believes that the year-long journey made the final payoff special.

“She did. And we had a wonderful story for a full year,” Lynch stated. “I think if you’re still looking back at (SummerSlam 2021) as unfavorable, you kind of missed the story of it, you know?”

Lynch’s reflection on her past SummerSlam moments comes as she prepares for her return to the event after a three-year absence from wrestling on the show. At the two-night SummerSlam premium live event this weekend, “The Man” is scheduled to defend her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against her former protegé, Lyra Valkyria, in a No Disqualification, No Count Out match.

The Rock Calls His ‘Final Boss’ Character The ‘Most Gratifying Decision’ He’s Ever Made

0

In the new “WWE: Unreal” docuseries that premiered today on Netflix, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has reflected on his recent heel turn into “The Final Boss,” calling the transformation the “most gratifying decision” of his career.

The docuseries features The Rock speaking about the creation of his new, rule-breaking persona that emerged in the lead-up to WrestleMania XL. He described the character as the ultimate villain in professional wrestling.

“The Final Boss. The greatest heel professional wrestling has seen. Insurmountable antagonist. There is nothing the Final Boss can’t do. There’s nothing the Final Boss can’t say,” The Rock said. “Becoming this new version has been the most gratifying decision that I’ve ever made.”

The “Final Boss” character often blurred the lines between fiction and reality, with The Rock using his real-life position on the TKO board of directors to justify his actions on-screen. He continued the persona into 2025, appearing at the Elimination Chamber premium live event, where his actions directly led to John Cena’s shocking heel turn.

While The Rock has not appeared on WWE television since the Elimination Chamber event in February, his presence is still felt. With his cousin Roman Reigns recently returning to wage war against another faction of their family led by Solo Sikoa, many WWE fans are speculating that “The Final Boss” could make his return to get involved in the “Blood vs. Blood” storyline that is heading into SummerSlam this weekend.

CM Punk Admits He’s ‘Riddled’ With Anxiety Before Big Matches

0

The new “WWE: Unreal” docuseries is providing a deep look into the minds of top stars, with CM Punk opening up in the first episode about his struggles with what he calls “anticipatory anxiety” before major matches.

The docuseries followed Punk in the lead-up to his main event match against Seth Rollins on the January 6th debut episode of Raw on Netflix. In the footage, Punk described the intense anxiety he feels before a big performance.

“I’m looking at that RAW debut like, ‘holy shit’. I constantly have what I call anticipatory anxiety now. Like, right now, I’m just riddled with it,” Punk said. “In a way, I’m almost waiting for it to all to be over and the only time I’m not gonna feel that way is when the red light’s on and the bell rings.”

Punk explained that the anxiety disappears the moment he steps through the ropes, as that is the one place where he feels completely in command of the situation. “I have no boss. I’m 100% in control. I can do whatever the fuck I want,” he stated. Punk was ultimately victorious in that main event match against Rollins.

Punk will likely be dealing with those same feelings of anticipatory anxiety this weekend as he prepares for another high-stakes encounter. At the two-night SummerSlam premium live event, he is scheduled to challenge GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship in what is expected to be one of the main events.

WWE Returns to Japan with October SuperShow Events at Tokyo’s Sumo Hall

0

WWE is making its highly anticipated return to Japan this October with two consecutive house shows at Tokyo’s iconic Sumo Hall. The events, branded as “WWE SuperShow Japan,” will take place on Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18, marking the company’s first Japanese shows since July 2024.

The announcement comes after a significant gap in WWE’s Japanese presence, as the company had not visited the country between 2019 and July 2024. This return demonstrates WWE’s renewed commitment to international markets and their passionate global fanbase.

A star-studded lineup of WWE Raw superstars has been advertised for the Tokyo events, including World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, AJ Styles, IYO SKY, Rhea Ripley, Jey Uso, Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Sami Zayn, and New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. The all-Raw roster selection is strategic, as WWE has a live SmackDown episode scheduled in San Jose, California on the same night as the first Japan show.

Tickets for WWE SuperShow Japan will go on sale Saturday, August 30 at 10 a.m. local time. Wrestling fans will also have the opportunity to purchase special meet and greet packages, providing an intimate experience with their favorite superstars in the historic Sumo Hall venue.

This international expansion continues WWE’s recent global efforts, following successful SuperShow Mexico events in Mexico City and Monterrey that featured high-profile matches including Gunther versus Penta and multi-man tag team competitions involving top stars like Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa.

Brian Gewirtz & The Rock Pitched For Shock Kevin Owens WWE Title Win

0

The new “WWE: Unreal” docuseries on Netflix has revealed another major scrapped storyline, this one involving a plan for Kevin Owens to surprisingly win the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes at the Elimination Chamber premium live event earlier this year.

In the docuseries, longtime creative mind Brian Gewirtz revealed that he and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson pitched the shocking title change. The idea was that after Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes refused The Rock’s offer to be “his champion” at the PLE, The Rock would have made an “impromptu title match right then and there.” The plan would have seen Kevin Owens, who was in a storyline with Rhodes at the time, defeat him to capture the championship.

Gewirtz explained the motivation behind the pitch, stating that he and The Rock felt the expected babyface rivalry between Rhodes and John Cena “felt a little dry.” Their goal was to inject “controlled chaos into this” and create a truly “seismic” moment.

“Kevin Owens winning the title wasn’t the end goal,” Gewirtz explained. “The takeaway was whatever it is we do, needs to be seismic.” Ultimately, WWE went in a different direction, with the segment at Elimination Chamber instead featuring John Cena’s heel turn and alignment with The Rock.

While the plan for Owens to win the title was scrapped, both he and Cody Rhodes remain at the top of the card in WWE. Cody Rhodes will challenge John Cena for the WWE Title in a Street Fight at SummerSlam this coming weekend.

Original Plans For WWE WrestleMania 41 Card

0

With the premiere of the “WWE: Unreal” docuseries on Netflix today, a massive revelation has come out regarding the original plans for this past April’s WrestleMania 41. An early version of the card detailed in the show is drastically different from the event that ultimately took place in Las Vegas.

The docuseries revealed that the initial blueprint for the show featured several dream matches that were later changed. The original plans included one-on-one matches such as Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns and a World Heavyweight Championship match between GUNTHER and CM Punk. Other major planned bouts included Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair for the Women’s World Title, a tag team match pitting Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair against Asuka & IYO SKY, and a special referee match with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin officiating a bout between Bron Breakker and Drew McIntyre.

The final card for the two-night event was significantly different. The Night One main event was a triple threat match between Seth Rollins, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns. One of the biggest moments of the weekend saw Jey Uso score a surprising victory over GUNTHER to win the World Heavyweight Championship. In the main event of Night Two, Cody Rhodes lost his Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena.

The creative shifts revealed in the docuseries have had a massive impact on the current landscape heading into this weekend’s SummerSlam. CM Punk, who was originally slated to face GUNTHER at WrestleMania, will now challenge him at SummerSlam. The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena has now evolved into a Street Fight for their rematch at the event.

CM Punk To Doubters: “I’m Real Good And I’m Going To Rub Your Nose In It”

0

On the same day that the “WWE: Unreal” docuseries premieres on Netflix, CM Punk has shared his perspective on his current run in WWE. In a new interview, he explained that he no longer gets disappointed by missed opportunities and is “stoked” just to be in the conversation for the company’s top spots.

While speaking with JoBlo Celebrity Access, Punk was asked about the behind-the-scenes discussions revealed in “WWE: Unreal,” where the possibility of him winning the Royal Rumble or main eventing WrestleMania were talked about. He said that hearing his name in the mix is a victory in itself.

“I don’t get disappointed when I hear, like, my name’s in the mix. I’m pretty stoked right now, you know, because there’s a lot of people that think that I shouldn’t be operating at this high level that I am at this age,” Punk said. “And you know, to me, I’m just like, ‘Yeah, I’m real good. I’m real good. And I’m going to rub your nose in it.’”

Punk explained that at this stage of his career, accolades like title wins or main event matches are no longer the primary benchmarks that define his success. Instead, his focus is on delivering consistent, high-quality performances. He was able to check a WrestleMania main event off his list this past April when he competed in a triple-threat match against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

Punk will have another opportunity to prove he is still “real good” this coming weekend at the two-night SummerSlam premium live event. He is scheduled to challenge the dominant World Heavyweight Champion, GUNTHER, in a match that is expected to be one of the main events of the weekend. The match marks Punk’s second opportunity to capture a world championship since his return to WWE.

New El Grande Americano Appears On WWE Raw

0

The El Grande Americano mystery grew even deeper during the July 28, episode of WWE Raw, with a new masked man making is presence felt. This Americano, the third overall, not just appeared, but got involved in a majo title match.

The match in question was the Judgment Day’s WWE World Tag Team Title defense against LWO. The first El Grande Americano emerged mid-match, and based on his height, build, and striking technique, it was Ludwig Kaiser under the mask. The German has portrayed Americano in the wake of Chad Gable, the first Americano’s, injury.

Kaiser was chased to the back by Dragon Lee before another Americano, hopped the guardrail and interfered. This moment allowed for the Judgment Day to retain their titles in a shocking moment on WWE Raw.

On commentary, Michael Cole was stunned, telling fans “That’s not the same man, who is this?!” Corey Graves, who has been on Raw amid Pat McAfee’s ongoing hiatus, summed up the situation, sharing that “We’ve got a new mystery on our hands.”

No identity has been confirmed for this second El Grande Americano, but the intrigue has deepened just as WWE heads into SummerSlam. With two Americanos on Raw and three overall, this development has everyone guessing.

Chris Bey Sees The Ironic Side Of Injury, Grateful To Be Alive

0

Chris Bey took to social media to mark a significant milestone in his recovery journey, reflecting on breaking his neck nine months ago during a TNA event. Seeing the funny side to what was an incredibly scary and serious injury, Bey questioned if he was the first wrestler to break their neck off of a neckbreaker.

The TNA Wrestling star’s candid post highlighted both the severity of his injury and his gratitude for surviving what could have been a career-ending or life-threatening incident. Bey’s injury occurred in October 2024, when he suffered the neck fracture during a neckbreaker maneuver.

The wrestling world has rallied behind Bey, a former TNA X-Division Champion, since his injury. In March of this year, a benefit event was held to raise funds for Bey, who not only appeared, but was able to walk. The following month, Bey made his first live appearance for TNA post-injury, where he reunited with ABC tag-team partner Ace Austin.

Bey’s recovery represents a remarkable comeback story in professional wrestling, where neck injuries are among the most serious concerns for performers. While questions remain regarding his future in the ring, Chris Bey’s post shows that this setback in his professional life hasn’t dampened his good-natured attitude.

Triple H Details The Secretive Process Behind John Cena’s Heel Turn

0

Ahead of the premiere of the new docuseries “WWE: Unreal” on Netflix tomorrow, a new sneak peek has been released revealing the intricate behind-the-scenes process of John Cena’s shocking heel turn at the Elimination Chamber event earlier this year.

In the new clip, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque breaks down how he pitched the idea to a very small and select group of people. He details his conversations with WWE President Nick Khan and The Rock, who both loved the idea, with The Rock calling it “genius” and immediately contributing his own thoughts. After getting Cody Rhodes and Travis Scott on board, he made the final, crucial call to John Cena.

Triple H explained that he needed to have a very honest conversation with Cena about the real-world impact of such a massive character change. He made sure to speak to “John Cena the human being” about the potential ramifications for his movie career and public image.

“I said, ‘John, okay. Let’s take the bulls*** hat off,'” Levesque recounted. “‘This impacts John Cena the real-life human being, and it impacts his movies, and it impacts his PR schedule and impacts everything… Give me your gut. You like it or you don’t.’ And he was like, ‘I like it a lot, actually.’ And when I hung up the phone with him, within a minute, minute and a half, I’ve gotten, like, three different texts from him of thoughts, ideas.”

The heel turn that was born in that small circle of trust ultimately led to John Cena capturing the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 41. Although he has since lost the title to Cody Rhodes, their story will reach its climax this weekend at the two-night SummerSlam premium live event, where Rhodes is set to challenge Cena for it in a street fight.
